Vacances Liquide

Just received my sample from an excellent eBay seller, and I have to say I love this scent! After the first couple of minutes, the initial tiare note subsides and the non sweet, organic coconut blended with a slight aquatic accord dominates my nose. From the middle notes down it indeed does have a mild similarity to Virgin Island Water, but definitely without the lemon-y aromatic notes of the Creed in my opinion. The base notes do show some resemblane to Virgin Island Water (when the lemons have somewhat disappeared from it)in the way coconut is blended. The coconut in Vacances Liquide is not artificial, sweet or sickening, but quite unisex and natural. In the drydown I swear I smell something woody. All in all, a nice summer fragrance, I wish I could sense the sea water note more, with maybe a touch of sand... I will try layering it with CB At the beach 1966 and report on the results. Now to find a bottle of this in the UK... EDIT: After many months of searcing high and low, I finally found a bottle, or should I say it found me? It is such an amazing summer scent, love it! I so wish the postal services in the UK realized that perfumes are an everyday necessity and not a potential military explosive in disguise; things would have been so much easier this way and all of us perfume lovers would be able to enjoy our beloved scents no matter if they are only available online to be posted from the other side of the globe... Sigh...

Ok so this is a beautiful tropical fragrance. Can compete with any of the niche powerhouses in my opinion. When first sprayed I get almost a Lira dupe with a hint of lemons but it seems to disappear and turns into a coconut floral. Lemons isn’t listed so I see why this transforms. It really is beautiful and I will be wearing this a lot in summer. Longevity is so so but I will wear with a body lotion underneath. Sillage is a good arms length and eventually sits close to skin. I am really happy I own this and I do recommend if it still is available. 7/10 longevity is not that great

Very summery and beachy. A great vacation scent. This fragrance is feminine, delicate, and just beautiful. I get the tiare flower which I love, and a hint of coconut but it isn't overly sweet or fruity. Thankfully I don't get any citrus at all. I layer it with a Bronze Goddess lotion and they go together perfectly. The only problem I have with this is the longevity. After a couple of hours it dries down to a skin scent. Nonetheless, I love it and I'm very happy to have it in my collection.

Hawaii in a bottle! Love love love! I live in Hawaii and there is nothing like the fragrant Tiare flower, this fragrance captures the alluring femininity of the Tiare and infuses lush coconut for a beautiful, rich, heavenly scent. It is not the cheap floral scents found at tourist traps, it is clearer and lusher...it mildly reminds me of Bobbi Brown Beach but more sophisticated...deepens beautifully in humid weather and would be a perfect remedy for winter blues...Enjoy!

I tried this today and it was pretty good. In the beginning it smelled like a good lemon lime fizzy soda, but not bad. It settled down into a smooth floral/coconut/vanilla. The coconut did not overwhelm it though. I sprayed Guerlain Terracotta on one arm and this on the other. The Terracotta faded after an hour and this just kept going. I know they don't have the same notes, but I discovered this amazing line and can't wait to explore it more.

Big tiare flower out of the gate with a little hit of a coconut vibe and a smidge of vanilla then dries down quickly to a skin scent with a little incense note from the house and a smokey base

I really do love the scent of this but I do not love it overall because I do not find it to be decently long lasting at all. Especially for the price it is going for now. I can see a similarity to Virgin Island but I would not say this is a good dupe. For one thing Virgin Island has outstanding performance compared to this one. Yeah, I would buy Vacances Liquide if it were at a lower price than it is selling for at this time.

Once again I find myself thinking immediately of another perfume while wearing a creation from the house of Mémoire Liquide. VACANCES LIQUIDES smacks unmistakably to my nose of Creed VIRGIN ISLAND WATER. Coconut was the first note I noticed, followed by the familiar aquatic-citric-vaguely monoi-oid vibe of the Creed perfume. So, yes, it smells good. I do not know why citrus is not listed among the notes, given that its presence is undeniable, but the overall effect of this perfume is very nice. The sensation is similar to sitting on the beach drinking a cold drink on a warm day with the breeze blowing through one's hair and lifting the scent of coconut suntan lotion into the moist air. I do think that this would be a good vacation scent, and I have considered acquiring the Creed version on this theme in the past. I would like at some point to have this sort of scent in my wardrobe, but I would only need one or the other, since they are very similar indeed. Three for three, the perfumes of the house of Mémoire Liquide have reminded me of haute-niche perfumes by either By Kilian or Creed. What I do not know yet is whether they cost more or less, but I do suspect that it is less, which of course would be good news, although some people might write this house off for producing "knock-offs". I don't buy that whole line. I simply don't believe that the perfumer for Mémoire Liquide has a gas chromatograph and sets out to copy already popular niche perfumes. Good ideas are good ideas, and if one person can have a good idea, why not another one in another part of the world?

If given the choice between Vacances Liquide and Creed's Virgin Island Water, I would probably choose the latter. Both fragrances have the same tropical lime-coconut dynamic, but I prefer Creed's rendition of lime, which smells more like lime sorbet than lime essential oil. The opening of Vacances contains a lime which is a little more bitter and somewhat jagged/cleaning fluid-like. However, when Vacances dries down, the lime calms significantly and the tiare comes forward, creating a salty/sweet tropical flower scent with a touch of coconut and citrus. Very nice! It wears close to the skin and longevity is poor, not unlike VIW. In the final stages, the ocean notes are very very soft, subtle, and sparkly. Just beautiful, unlike the heavy matte tones of CSP's Aqua Motu, and so many other scents that claim to smell like the sea. Virgin Island water does not contain tiare in the dry down, and instead possesses a humid, almost sweaty aspect along with the lime, which makes me think it is the masculine version of Vacances, or rather, that Vacances is the feminine version of it. That said, either gender could easily wear either. Vacations have no gender. Thanks to the lovely agentj for enabling me to try this!

Just got this very cheap at marshalls. To me when first sprayed it reminds me of Tom Ford Neroli Portofino Acqua. I have a tester of that one and really liked it but it didn't last and seemed to be missing something for me. This has a warmth that one lacked and we'll see about the longevity. I love florals especially unique ones so I am very glad I got this one. And, for $8.00 it was a steal. I'm thinking of mixing this with a few other summer scents I have to give them a bit more sophistication but we will see how that turns out. I know this has a coconut note but I'm getting more of a chocolate feel for that particular note. Which makes it even more interesting. The box and bottle are also gorgeous and add to the appeal of this scent. Marylu I agree...perfect for vacation!!

Nothing says Chancletas and Infinity Scarfs quite like Vacancies Liquide. The reason why this is not a Tommy Bahama nor a Virgin Island Water replacement is because it's a totally different scent all together. Vacancies holds its own as a powerhouse summer option and I find this to be perfect in its own way. The white florals here really gives it an edge over most tropical fragrances in its category. In one instance, it smells almost drinkable; in another instance, this smells like extremely clean clothing. If you close your eyes and sniff your skin, your mind will be filled with turquoise thoughts. I know it's a delicate scent but C'mon Fragrantica, don't mislead the people. Go ahead and slap that unisex tag on this one....

I've had this beautiful bottle now for a couple months and hadn't quite known what to make of it. I liked it, but I had just never smelled anything remotely resembling this scent. Each time I use it, though, I like and appreciate it more and more. So at this point, I can safely say that I adore this unique perfume. It has have a zesty opening not supported by the *stated notes* that is short-lived before the creamy warmth of the floral/coconut/vanilla becomes predominant. This is a unique and sophisticated scent. Longevity is surprising because even when I think it's disappeared, I get a whiff of it here and there. Just delightful. *Tiare Flower, Fresh Coconut Milk and Tahitian Vanilla with Oceanic accords*

This has been called "Hawaii in a bottle" in a review below. I would agree with Freddinos and Sherapop, this is very similar to Creed Virgin Island Water. It has the same island coconut citrus/aquatic vibe. It is certainly a good quality, as with Creed VIW, except this has a less aromatic citrus. Smells like being on a boat on the water, the fresh air, light hint of coconuts and gardenias around and a hint of citrus. Definitely a great vacation or escape scent. I do concur with an earlier sentiment though, this is a beauty to have but wouldn't want both this and Creed Virgin Island Water as they are too similar.

I didn't like the top note as i liked the calmed down (middle and base notes) when the aquatic note disappears, as the coconut and the tiara note mixed up & rises quite high with a hint of jasmine as the frame and a slight vanilla taste to give quite soft essence that i enjoyed. Well blended but you need to give it more time to grow and realize the real effect it brings. Be sure it's skin close with weak longevity.

Summery, beachy, floral scent (not a tropical fruit beach scent). The coconut is not really apparent, blended well. This fragrance smelled awfully familiar to Lilly Pulitzer's Beachy. Both fragrances smelled familiar to something else which I cannot quite place (I would say Coppertone sun lotion, but I never grew up using that stuff). Kind of overpriced for what it is, imo.

Tiare is a type of gardenia, and Vacances is achingly pretty, romantic, and girly. No, it does not resemble Coppertone lotion at all. The coconut enhances the floral note and is not overwhelming. It adds a delicious slight sweetness. I've never been to those exotic beaches but this makes me daydream of being there. It's such a dreamy, carefree perfume.

Holy Jesus, this is just beautiful! First off I get straight tiare, but the blend of sweet coconut kicks in and makes this practically edible. This scent has been done before, but this is undoubtedly of excellent quality. Smooth and perfect, I love it.

In my very honest opinion, this is the BEST, hands down coconut there is. I wish this was easier to obtain for everyone, because for real, it’s anazing.

Wear this if you want to smell like concentrated sunscreen. Having said that, if anyone in Australia wants to get their hands on this, DM me.
