Atlantic Fig

Based on a 2ml sample. The name Atlantic Fig can bring a lot of people into thinking of a green/acquatic fragrance, but it's not really an acquatic fragrance. The name is slightly misleading, in my opinion. Also the description referring to the sea exploration, well, is not really fitting. This fragrance is everything but acquatic. Doesn't mean it's bad, though. The fragrance opens with a slight citrusy feel with the bergamot, but the fig is present from the get-go. The fig note is very dense and pervasive, really hugging you in a refreshing way. Then after some minutes the fig loses a bit of his "grasp" and the other floral and spicy notes come into the picture. I can perceive the rose, the lavender and a touch of geranium, but the narcissus and the sage not so much. Same for the cardamom, I can't particularly detect it. However, all these notes act as a support for the omnipresent fig, giving the image of a floral dance with the fig as the centerpiece, so maybe that's why they are difficult to distinguish and detect. The result is a very clean and green vibe, almost fougere-like, but without much spices. The base notes list is very broad with agarwood, cypriol, sandalwood, moss, patchouli, vetiver and cedarwood. Strangely they are not really heavy as you would say just by looking at the notes on paper. They provide a solid amount of earthiness and woodiness to the aforementioned greenness, but without becoming heavy. The name of the game for this fragrance is density. Density, without becoming cloying. To me it's very well balanced. I don't really want to talk about performance since it's very personal, and since it's from a sample I wanted to test over multiple days I stayed conservative with the sprays. However I feel it lasts a good amount of hours on my skin, more than other summer fragrances. I'm not really sure about the projection because in general I become noseblind to every fragrance (and this one is no exception), so I won't talk about it. Now, what to say from my personal point of view? I like this fragrance a lot. On a hot summer day, it's very refreshing and soothing, and gives my an image of vacation and holidays, and a big smile on my face. Definitely leaning towards daytime and spring-summer season, but I think its density can make it work even on mild/warm evenings and spring/fall days. Moreover, to me it seems a very safe fragrance for the workplace since it doesn't have particularly aggressive notes. In fact I decided to commit to a full bottle of it. Definitely worth a sample to check it out, as I did.
