I agree with the reviewer below who likened this to Terre with a white musky fluff and less sharpness. It isn’t super interesting if you have smelled the reference point, but it does smell good when judged in a vacuum. 7.9/10

The fragrance opens with a softened nod to Terre d’Hermès, that familiar citrus-and-earth interplay is present, but here it’s stripped of the grit and flint. Instead of dirty orange zest, you get a smoother, lighter citrus with a musky lift. It feels approachable, almost casual, right from the start. As it settles, the composition leans into a more translucent musk-and-wood accord. Where TDH can feel austere and mineral, New York is cleaner, more unisex, and easier to wear. The heart has a polite, almost airy presence: modern and versatile, but lacking the depth that would make it truly stand out. On skin, the dry down is short-lived, mostly a soft musky-woody whisper that sits close, with little evolution. It fades gracefully but quickly, giving about four hours of wear before it’s gone. While pleasant, it doesn’t leave much of a lasting impression. Ultimately, New York feels like a refined but diluted take on Terre d’Hermès. A smoother, lighter interpretation that trades personality for wearability. Nice, but not remarkable, and at its price point, the difference doesn’t quite justify the investment. TL;DR: A smoother, lighter, muskier take on Terre d’Hermès that’s pleasant and easy to wear but lacks character, has weak longevity (about 4 hours), and doesn’t justify its price.

A beautiful amber cedar fragrance. Spicy pepper in here but with musk keeps it fresh yet alluring. Pulls way more unisex than I expected from the notes - its not super masc at all. Shame it sits so close to the skin. Its very very very gentle on me.

What a disappointment this is. Very bland, no character.
