Invidia

Opens spicy, leathery with hints of sweet. Midway, becomes a little animalic but not barnyard nor skanky as the spicy clove settles down. A little powdery and creamy on the dry with mild florals in the background. I know it doesn’t have any ambers but this is somewhat ambery and warm. It opens bold and heavy and only gets heavier as it dries. It reeks of desire and sensuality. I find myself smelling my hands going back for more whiffs of its woody spicy ambery goodness. I wore Invidia to bed and I slept for 6 hours (Bummer, IKR). Woke up and it was still going. On the 7th hour it started to die down but stayed on for at least 9ish hours! My bed also caught the scent and stayed there for days. Sillage and projection moderately good as well. I love fragrances that evoke certain moods (desire in Invidia’s case) and Memoize does just that.

Absolute masterpiece of a scent. I get tobacco, woods and cloves with very slight sweetness. The sweetness is pretty much only detectable when you smell it side by side with something that has absolutely no sweetness whatsoever. I was caught off guard when I saw the floral top notes, though. I don't get any florals at all. Very dark fragrance. I was thinking about getting this a good few months ago. I was fully willing to pay full price (£177), but thank God I held off. For about the past 2 months, this, avaritia, gula and some others have been on a discontinuation clearance sale for £50 a pop and I bought both avaritia and Invidia. The fact 2 months have gone by and you can still grab this for £50 (atleast in the UK) almost feels criminal lol. Perfect for nightime formal events where you wanna smell sharp. 10/10

Opens with a blast of cloves, florals and caramel. The feeling is warm, slightly spicy and stylish.The oak, leather and musk are perfectly blended and create a honeyed tobacco accord. In the drydown the clove note fades and the musk blends with the honey tobacco and adds a beautiful floral sweetness. The leather and tobacco are clean and non-animalic, blending into the composition perfectly. A great modern, niche tobacco and leather fragrance.

Loved this one, my mums absolute favourite. I had to give her my sample of this one. Birthday present is decided for her! A really nice oaky, smokey base, with sweet hints of vanilla and caramel. This one lasted around 9 hours on my skin. Really well balanced, almost cocooning you in scent....

This is the perfect unisex fragrance that can be worn day or night (just add an extra spritz), any season.

Testing blind, but looking at the notes now, I did get an initial wave of vanilla and caramel with an ambery body. This dries down to a pleasant, but darker leaning woodsy body that is almost aromatic (not singular in any one note). It does feel a little "light" after the dry down compared to the opening, and while the initial sweetness which I think is better if less, there was something more mysterious and deep that no longer is as eminent. What I get for most of the day is more powdery and not as fun, sexy, mysterious (or sweet, which I wouldn't want) than the first few minutes. It's an easy to wear fragrance though, with just enough to consider if striking isn't desirable. Leans towards intimate nights out regardless of season to me.

This is incredibly spicy. I do enjoy the perfume but the cloves are overpowering. I personally do not detect the flowery notes at all. I would love to smell the beautiful orchid but I do not feel it. It's not as flowery or feminine as the Tom Ford's orchid for example. I think this might be a good masculine perfume for those who like spicy notes (like Jo Malone's 154 cologne).

STRONG SPICES : This one is not for me. May be for more trained noses. Starts of smelling very challenging and I get the curry spices vibe that is used in Indian subcontinent for cooking, May be its from the Clove. It settles down to woody notes later. Definitely sample first.

I had no idea what to expect with this one! My first impression of the scent was “rich and woody”- masculine leaning. I don’t get much of the vanilla, caramel or anything to lighten or brighten this; deeeeeeeeep depth with velvety oak, tobacco and clove. Vetiver gives this fragrance a chewy, earthy edge the way patchouli usually would influence a scents base! I had to triple check for it in the notes. An absolute experience and work of art- in the wrong hands this note pyramid could be absolutely foul. But this is the deep forest, clove cigarette smoking, graveyard dwelling, poetry writing, edgy, brooding type in perfume form- with runway sophistication. Needs to settle before making your judgements. Distinctly comforting.

I dodged a bullet with this one. Wanted to blind buy a full bottle, based on the notes of tobacco, vanilla, cloves, sandalwood, musk and even tuberose. It sounded great! I reigned in my enthusiasm and tried a 7.5ml sample first. It's perfectly fine. On my skin it smells entirely masculine and reminds me of inexpensive 'old school' designer tobacco fragrances (I saw a bottle for £49 on ebay, and at that price it would be a great fragrance for some). Not nearly interesting or exciting enough for me to want to wear, but I will force myself to use the 7.5ml. Oh, and the first two reviews here are from people who only reviewed the entire Memoize line, nothing else, so I wouldn't take them into consideration.
