Archetipo

I went to the store asking for something with the smell of a church but she the service, when the incense is out and the smell of smoke is mixed with flowers, a sensation of emptiness but at the same time you understand the fulfillment of the moment. The description of this totally got me I could picture it immediately, it was there, before us. The opening is very strong with the incense and the smoke but you can tell that there is the pink pepper jumping around, someway wet, it gives the sensation of an empty green forest, for a few hours i get the woddy smoky smell and I can even say is animalic maybe for the amber. But after maybe 2 or 3 hours it changes completely in my skin I get one of the most beautiful ambers I have ever smell is sweet and fresh but you still have the remaining smokes coming time to time. So i have to remark trying it before buying. I totally love it, it’s a journey through a forest whit an abandoned church in the middle next to a lake and the price is a joke I don’t understand how people can say this is expensive, is totally worth it. There are houses selling terrible pieces for the double of this. The performance is something that you should point also, is extremely long lasting, I went to a concert wearing this and the next day it was there in my neck. The silage is very strong so you may be careful, you don’t want to drown a small room with your forest smell. And at last the bottle is just beautiful, elegant, classy and recognizable.

Just tested this gem at Esxence last week, and for me this was the Best in Show of the whole exhibition! Archetipo is a very poetic scent and for those who have not smelled and wonder what the notes are, I can detect seanotes, "wet stone", anis and incense among others. Whether these are actual components of the scent I have no idea, just my impressions. Lovely Stefania provided me with a special sample and I ́m happy to be one of the first getting a bottle of this lovely concoction when its ready very soon. It ́s humid and damp, almost to a cooling effect, it ́s as if I can smell cold, wet rock in nature. Very creative mix of notes, highly unusual and one that wowed me instantly. I already have the wonderous Sogno Reale, which now is defined as being from another house (Talisman), but I find that the originality is on the same level in both houses. And meeting Stefania in person did not diminish my admiration for these two brands. Truly "odori d ́anima, fragrances of the spirit! And a very free spirit too, to which I felt instantly connected. The bottles are truly beautiful, very original and true to the concept of the scents.

Scent of the mesmerizing rainy season is Archetipo Mendittorosa. Top of mind impression: Representation of Pencil shaving / wet wood note in the best artistic way possible Another top shelf addition in my collection of Niche. This is highly intriguing scent from top to base notes. Highly appreciated the quality right away from first spray. Haven't experienced such realistic note of Pencil shavings / wet woods............. splendid. Unlike dozens of other scents with similar theme, this surpasses them all by addition of real depth through bunch of high quality ingredients while maintaining the sharp tone of woody accord. On top you can enjoy pencil shavings, fresh cut wood pieces, Incense and spices all blended to perfection. Middle notes are occupied by deep smokey accords. this type of theme is very unusual, it is a unique take on smokiness. You will get sweet accords from labdanum and Amber. The base is full of labdanum, Amber and Patchouli Overall a 10/10 fragrance. Quality: 8/10 Uniqueness: 10/10 Performance: 8/10 mind blowing for such theme Presentation: ammm 12/10 😃 who could disagree with that?

Man I love this scent. I echo Florisa's comments. It is an incense and marine scent, with vetiver and some green. It has some rock notes and makes me think of an Egyptian temple on the Mediterranean shore. It does smell somewhat like Sel de Vetiver, but also as Florista mentioned, a mixture of Sel Marin and Bois d'Encens Some may say it is unremarkable for Mendittorosa, but this is the first scent I've owned from this house. I have since sampled others, but I love the comforting and meditative blend in this one. My only wish is for a bit stronger performance. Sillage is medium, but I feel the performance is weak given the price of this fragrance. I usually have to spray on 8-9 sprays to get the proper coverage. And...it doesn't last for a full 8 hours at work. PS The box and bottle are just cool by the way. They have a hand-made and retro feel to them. The box is made of wood, and is bound by twine that is tied and whose ends are threaded through a piece of lead. The lead is cramped...thus holding the twine together and sealing it!

Took a couple of tries to see the magic but I have glimpsed it now, and this is quite some fragrance. Opens quite fresh almost green, a little transparent with touches of the sharp pine/eucalyptus about it. It's definitely resinous but has the bright fizzy lemon of olibanum and elemi with some of the greener character of galbanum. This is all the opening, fleeting top notes and as such shouldn't be obsessed about because there's so much more to this than that. The incense becomes, smokier, oilier and with a touch of the diesel fume about it. High quality Vetiver adds to this dry smokey touch but never dominates the cerebral, and actually quite light feel. the sweet pink pepper note chimes in too. It's a strange one which I kinda dismissed upon first try, then on the the second try remarked on how well it transitioned through different stages, lasting very well on my skin. I really liked it.

To be more concise than my last review: Take something like Heeley Sel Marin and mix with Armani Bois d’Encens and you get something in the territory of Archetipo. Aquatic incense sharpened with pine and given bass via cool wet stone. Completely subjectively, I am obsessed with this fragrance, can’t get enough of it. I always enjoyed the salty, briney, crispness of Sel Marin and in Archetipo, frankincense and woody notes add backbone to extend that somewhat fleeting experience into a six hour cruise. Not to mention a fully realized fragrance composition (whereas Sel Marin is just the woodwind section, Archetipo adds a little brass, strings and percussion).

This would be a signature if I could afford that. It feels very meditative, I picture a cold summer night at a lake. Theres a common blue (marine) freshie feel that comes and goes, but it never lacks depth. Overall I love Archetipo.

The balsam fir really shines in a very nice, elegant way. My wife, who is vrry picky with my colognes, said I smell very nice. I agree, a signature scent for both day and night and all occasions. A keeper for sure.

Cool, quiet, contemplative. Archetipo is moist stone and moss, like the interior of a water formed cave in the woods. There are shifting incense and smoky notes. No individual note stands out, a balanced blend.

Wearing it again....and I realize I love the balsam fir. Subtle and can be worn on any occcasion. Great quality mix!

A nice and pleasant woodsy smell, easy to wear casually or in the office. Could easily be a signature scent.

Fresh, clean, sweet and salty. I get a lot of fir absolute coupled with “cashmere wood”. I’m not sensing any smoke, just maybe some raw incense tears. I get images of a gray sea on a day where the fog is thick and hovering low to the earth. Reminiscent of many a day on the cold, rocky coast of Northern California. I like this fragrance, but it also gives me a bit of a headache from the synthetics. One thing I like is that it imparts an etheric sweetness and salinity of real seawater that I don’t get nearly as well as other fragrances of a similar style. It’s almost like magic seawater.

A somber balsamic woody amber, this is a lovely, understated but somewhat unexceptional fougere style offering from the very eclectic Italian niche line Mendittorosa. The perfume opens with notes of fir, pink pepper and frankincense. The heart is a smoky labdanum and is brief. The perfume settles into a woody powdery base of vetiver, ambergris, cashmere and oakmoss. Moderate sillage and projection and can be classified as unisex. Subtle, mysterious and enveloping and slightly more well rounded than many of the incense based offerings out there. Enjoy!

Earthy, smoky, and wet. The opening is a bit contradicting, it can feel as there's too much going on. The dry down, however, is simply gorgeous. Reminds me of nature. The image that comes to mind is walking through a damp forest that is slowly leading me to a lake. The smell of earthy minerals, fire, smoke, wet stones, and soil. I feel there is ink in the composition as well. The overall scent comes off as a cross of Nobile Infinito and Oud Minerale.

Very interesting woody/smoky opening as Comme des Garcons knows how to do well.The base is centered around ambergris, labdanum and cashmeran, giving an overall impression of damp woods, a theme inaugurated by Bvlgari Aqva, later declined (copied?) by various brands (L'Eau Majeure by Issey Miyake, Oud Minerale by Tom Ford...). Nice, but the price is totally disporportionated for what it offers. I like it, but it'll be a pass for me on a full bottle.

It ́s not a perfume. It ́s a genie in a bottle. Seriously. Let him out. And you ́ll get meditative incense, sweet and spicy pepper /hot like sparks/, bonfire heart with a light /but intensive/ smoky undertone. Then natural fir scent is slowly evolving and revealing more woody and balsamic notes. It ́s earthy, smoky, dusty experience. Very impressive.

It smells nice on paper: smokey, green, woody. The vetiver was very noticeable. On my skin, it turned into an Oakmoss b0mb very quickly. It smelled, well, "Oakmoss-y" i.e. like damp, green forest. It wasn't appealing to me.

Uh this smells like a very generic mens aquatic cologne with slight smokey undertones. Likable enough but super underwhelming. I've smelled this a million times over.

It is really interesting to see how people think and review about a fragrance after you have tested it and made up your mind. First thing after spraying on skin was "oh, a replica of La Litugie des Heures" from Jovoy (which I own). Incense and cold wet stone and balsamic notes. This is pretty much what I have smelled for the next few hours. I am not impressed by Archetipo. As opposed to other reviews, I find it lacks in structure. There's no depth, no basement, it implodes and after 4 hours, it's gone

balsamic and resinous in opening almost rusty. Pine needles. cool and warm. nothing special.
