I so agree with the 27 year old lady below. Meo Fusciuni using Tobacco note in his perfume? How inauthentic 🤣 Not only that but also add to the mix notes like incense, oud...how lame! 🤣🤣 Lady, are you kidding me? Meo Fusciuni obviously is too complex and advanced for your nose. This brand is not for Sauvage or givenchy boys nor it is for Ella K girls. The beauty of Meo F is in its experimentalist, non-conformist take on notes. These are not your day to day wear compliment-magnets...Meo is for serious collectors, connesaiurs, experienced noses. But you are right - Meo F fragrances come in bottles, in liquid form..how inauthentic🤣🤣 I am a big fan of the brand for the unique, brave stance they take. Cheers

Can't really remember how the older version smelled, although I remember the bottle quite vividly in a shop I frequented some 10 years ago. and I think it impressed me back then. What I smell now mostly smoke and incense in the beginning, warmed by patchouli and tobacco. A tart grapefruit note/vetiver to the effect of Encre Noire Sport. And there's a hint of sweetness in all this that makes it sensual instead of just wood-dry serious. It's the elemi, a sweet resin, and some spices like cinnamon and I guess a pinch of cardamom, which suggest sweetness without actually going there. And behind this mahogany landscape, whiffs of concentrated bergamot jelly, as if there's a citrus stall at the far end of the bazaar. It's a long, dimly lit passage with occasional sunlight coming from the high ceiling. It is fair to call this an olfactive memory for a place you've never been, a nostalgic tool to accompany Lawrence Durrell's Alexandria Quartet.

@s3zi Does it really harm anyone if something is considered ‘orientalist’? Like perfume by nature is “oriental”, it contains spices, resins, ambers, ouds originating from distant lands. That’s the DNA of the whole art form. I feel like acting like it is inauthentic misses the point completely. Perfume isn’t always anthropology, it can be about curating a fantasy. It’s supposed to exaggerate, dramatize, and transport. That’s literally why so many people wear it.

omg this perfume and branding reeks of orientalism. not talking about the fragrance. also the notes are also very orientalistic. this feels highly inauthentic and performative. thanks for listening. (27 year old turkish woman living in istanbul)
