Luce

I’ve tried a few of these now. Imprezzabile can basically do no wrong in my eyes. He has the mysterious, inscrutable, air to both the man and the work he produces. It’s funny because there’s nothing mind blowing here, nothing I’ve absolutely adored, but just a steady stream of creative, and original perfume with his signature something all over them. It’s not an easy thing to do, creating a movement or a style or perfumery. Its like perfumes I adore like ‘Muscs’ (perfumes with musk in the name) based around a kind of creamy, ethereal, base heavy, warm vibes. I love them, they are brilliant and some perceive them as lazy or not challenging enough and too conventional. However they are not easy to get right. This is the same. Nothing special, and yet they are special. The opening of this is knocking me for six. It’s smells of musks and warm ambergris like qualities, with vanillic pastry and almonds in the background. It’s almost fougere warm and sweet but with textbook Meo herbal tones. It’s quite an emotional work to me. I’m quite taken with it.

Creamy/buttery woods and sweet vanillic benzoin, with a (very subtle) tobacco-ish undertone. I can tell that the ingredients quality is superior to average, but it remains nonetheless a quite simple and linear fragrance. Furthermore, I confim what others have said before me, that is: EDP's projection is abysmal on my skin (but longevity is decent). Given that, I will politely pass on that one, and would be interested in trying the Parfum version, to see if the performance issues have been resolved. Still, worth a sniff. Great, but not $220 great, imho.

Given the notes you would expect this scent to be more masculine but on me it really isn’t, it’s a soft smooth woody perfume. No it doesn’t project much on me either, but I can still smell it on skin 6 hours later - I do have to sniff my arm to pick up in the scent. Its warmth is delicious in the heat of this summer.

Leathery, woody, creamy black licorice with chocolate-like patchouli. An instant love.

Out of the notes I can smell maybe benzoin and birch/sandalwood. It reminds me T-Perfume's Blanche which is equally very light and airy. The opening of Luce is the best but it stays very short time. Not bad scent overall, even interesting, but I wish it was stronger. The idea behind the scent is light and silence, minimal architecture by Kahn. Checking the homepage surprised me because I saw that now some of the scents have 10 ml options which makes it more financially possible to get something good. I have already bought two other full bottles at the same time, because the scents they do are absolutely gorgeous. Luce is definitely too weak/airy to me but not every scent has to be strong.

Luce might be one of the most uniquely wearable fragrances i've ever smelled. Luce really to me has this bubbly, apple, champagne sort of thing that really isn't reflected in the notes whatsoever! I think it comes from the Ambergris and vanilla crossing with the cedar leaf but i'm not entirely sure. Smell: 7.5/10 Longevity: 8/10 Silage: 7/10 SSB: Sample

this one is beautiful! i feel i’m starting to like this house more and more. their perfumes seem well thought through. each with its own story and character. on my skin Luce turns smooth, milky and spicy (I feel cardamom).

interesting. so interesting to die because of it. but....patchouli,cedar, sandalwood, birch are present and fleeting... its voice is like a flut, its lifetime is the same of the light. just like 'Luce' meanings.

I love it! But again, same as for Notturno... very very bad longevity. Overpriced.

This one takes a few minutes to develop on the skin, but it initially reminds me of the smell of the inside of my grandmother's wooden chifferobe from the 60's. On my skin, the combination of tobacco and leather notes are both a bit stale and acrid (Think of an old cigar lounge that has sat empty and closed off from circulating air). This, like all fragrances, is unisex but masculine leaning. Still hoping to discover a fragrance that I love from this house. This lasted a full 20 minutes on my skin.

Sweet, boozy wood with a varnish undertone. I liked the idea of this until it kind of turned into furniture. Meo Fusciuni smells better far away than up close. Getting random whiffs of it is somehow nicer than sticking your face right up to your wrist. It feels pretty masculine. Almost every review mentions a different combination of notes, and even some not listed. I guess it really varies on your skin! After a few hours it smelled like woodsy baby wipes.

Mostly a nondescript creamy woods and sweet vanilla thing, with a bit of oud (not listed) in the base. There is a similarity here to Narcotico, but its likely just the same use of perfume oils and blending. Its both refined, and understated, yes. But overall quite linear and generic within the niche realm in my opinion.

I get some liqueur patchouli on an oriental and medicinal amber. Warm, dry, sometimes plastic vanilla. It has an animalic side of moist tobacco, moss and birch patches. On my skin it becomes a clean French powder. A dim light of sillage. More on the male side, introverted. Calm.

Black licorice with varnish. All the rest backwards. Not sure where to wear it. Linear after all.

🕯️ IKEA Candle for 15 PLN💡 I am standing in the candle aisle at IKEA, holding a small candle called Vanilla Wood. The label says Ljus, which in Swedish means “light.” Price: 15 PLN. I buy it. At home, I place it on the table and light it. The first seconds are promising: birch strikes strongly and freshly, with notes of tar and smoke, as if someone had just split the bark with an axe. It is a beautiful, evocative accord that carries me to a bright forest clearing. For a moment, I think it will be magical. But the magic fades quickly. After fifteen minutes the birch disappears. What remains is just wood, warm, polite, safe like an IKEA coffee table. In the finale vanilla arrives, sweet, creamy, pleasant, though closer to a hand cream than the scent of fire and forest. Luce means light. Here, however, the light feels more like a supermarket lamp, bright but soulless. The birch in the opening is enchanting, a true moment of magic. Yet the composition soon becomes quiet, well-mannered, and easy to forget. Sometimes simplicity is a virtue. Here it feels more like a lack of courage. @the.scent.files

This smells way less complex than people lead on- it was my first introduction to meo as a house, and i hear people raving about the earnestness of their work... But this to me just smells like some sort of soap mixed with some very basic essential oils, in the dry down it does remind me of a candle in a pleasant way- and its certainly not a loud scent. at some point it does pick up this ambery quality that makes it feel more human, inviting, and interesting. I could see it being signature scent worthy for that reason but the soapy clean quality at the base is such a let down for me and feels the complete opposite of earnest or endearing or even well made. Overall had some likeable qualities but definitely didnt knock me out of the park- id imagine those raving about this are already initiated into loving the work of the house and trying to read into it more deeply and more positively than they would otherwise- just my opinion... still hope to get my nose on other stuff from meo, but also not dying to at this point.,

Best perfume ever? Masterpiece? Does a manual come with Luce because I'm trying to figure out how to turn up the volume on this fleeting fragrance. Maybe I'm a spoiled brat but I want my oriental fragrances to scream at me(especially if I'm dropping $200). In all fairness, it seems as if this was made with the purpose of being a silent swooner. Luce would make for an excellent layering type of perfume but once again, if I have to use a $200 frag for the purpose of layering, then it is indeed a failure. This is really a mysterious scent yet inviting at the same time. You can't help but wanna go overboard with the dosage of sprays. It's that good. Luce is warm and buttery with cinnamon undertones. I'm not getting a lot of smoke and leather but the patchouli on the other hand in conjunction with the tobacco and birch is magic! The more you sniff your arm, the more you'll be frustrated with Luce. Too quiet for it's own good. This fragrance is worthy of Masterpiece mentionings, it just lacks pieces to be deemed masterful.

This is supposed to be the natural contrast of "Notturno"! I really don't see it! "Notturno" has that superbly black currant glue and ink blend, has that night poem beside a burning candle, while "Luce" is sweet woods, yet animalic and kind of medicinal. The birch vanilla blend is really disturbing me, maybe because i dont like birch! In here it's more of a leather vanilla blended with bitter birch mixed with tobacco. The patchouli adds the medicinal effect on top. Brnzoin, Amber, cedar, and sandalwood are there, but the conquerer is the birch vanilla blend It's quite an impressive blend, but to me, birch has always been an obstacle, I just can't tolerate with it.

Luce is what I imagine a confident, soft-spoken, cultured, elegant, successful man to smell like - like someone so self assured that they never have to raise their voice to speak. As a fan of slightly masculine unisex scents, I even find this too masculine for me but on men this is stunning. On the men I've sprayed this on, I mostly get raw animalic leather, birch and cedar. I also get a hint of pepper even though it's not listed in the notes.

seriously my first thought is 'or du serail' by naomi goodsir. they smell similar to each other. a dense vanillic-tobacco mix with rich resin in the base. if i'd smelt THIS one first i might this one better. pretty intoxicating, i just feel like i've been here before...

A masterpiece. This is one of the best parfume I've never tried. Bad fit for a man, but for the women I think that is one of the best world compositions; try for believe. Really a fantastic work Meo! TO TRY.

Incense patchouli cream. Reminds me of Shunkoin for some reason which is just weird to me. But this smells very good, jusy zero projection or longevity. And for such deep notes im surprised at its weakness.

first impressions: fall days that still get hot. the vanilla here weaves itself among everything, and adds a tea dimension. some leather, as in jacket. reads more like a fantasy than anything real

I promise you this smells just like black licorice The leather is there but too smooth, almost liquidy (especially since Birch is there). and I prefer a 1:1 leather note.

playdough? very flour-y in a damp way, savory raw dough on an untreated wooden cutting board and leathery undertones. strange but do not dislike, it intrigues me
