There are some people who speak to us without words, for whatever reason we feel their soul without even knowing them. When a friend first told me about Meo Fusciuni, I wasn’t familiar with him so I looked him up. And as soon as I began learning about him, I can’t explain it, I just felt his soul. Without even smelling his perfume, I knew I would relate to it. Six bottles later I can confirm it. Meo’s creations just speak to me. He has his own unique style, gentle and poetic as his nature, thoughtful, meaningful. Polite and aware, well mannered, but unusual. I just received a sample of his latest creation, Spirito, and upon spraying it, I was immediately rendered sort of speechless. A flawless fougere with a very slight oriental feel. I find it...perfection. Spirito is the epitome of elegance, a perfect harmony of refinement, introspection and nature. Timeless, classic, a beautiful aromatic with some of the best vetiver I have smelled. If you love classic, green, masculine scents this is a must try. After an hour or so the florals peek out more and it gets slightly sweeter, so despite this being a classic masculine and rather “dapper” sort of scent, I find it rather unisex. In the drydown the vetiver becomes prominent and the MF signature is felt more. It’s more of a sweet vetiver not a super dry or rooty one. Spirito was inspired by the poetry of Emily Dickinson and beauty of New England. Spirito is one of the most beautiful and elegant fougeres I have ever smelled. Old world magic, when men wore 3 piece suits and top hats, but always removed them out of politeness to give a warm welcome. Powdery and aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced but still retaining Meo’s poetic soul and signature.

I absolutely love this one. I connect with what he wanted to express by his soul. My soul also woke up and transform to the place where he created by the olfaltve power. Perfumarily review is not that important at this time. I thought it is a vetiver centered perfume only; I was wrong, it is even more than a perfume. It tells a story so vivid for me, like it has the power to free my soul in the poetic imaginary world. But I would describe it is green, it is full, it is grassy but not as fresh as some other grassy super green fragrance. It contains body and keeps going all the way for 4-6 hours than there's more and more vetiver in the dry down. It stole my heart, and it would be not only for personal enjoyment but also office safe one without offensive intentions. Very nice. Wonderfully made!! I want to know his other fragrances, he is so different in his works. But at this price tag, if one doesn't want to spend in quality and depths, I accidentally found it is similar to Oud Vibrant Leather from Zara in some aspects, though Oud Vibrant Leather from Zara would never transport me like Spirito. Oud Vibrant Leather remains mostly the same after 6 hours and faid away, while Spirito is SO FULL after 8 hours with so different dry down of wonderful Bourbon Vetiver with sweat notes.

Ethereal. The air is thick with the scent of cypress and angelica, a darkness hangs heavy. Dry and powdery. The pages of a long abandoned book, coated in dust and shrouded in a ghostly haze. Herbal, vaporous, remarkable.

The basic 90s aquatic template, and make it insane, exquisite, sumptuous and nutty, this is the result. Wonderful.

If I were asked to choose one perfumer, it would be Giuseppe Impezzabile aka. Meo Fusciuni.

Nice soft aromatic fougere with a vetiver bed

Spirito . . Spirito. I have never liked a fougere. Green scents never make it to my collection. This one however, like something spiritual, calls. Although it’s very obviously green, it smells like no other fougere to my nose. Add to that, the perfumer’s unique creative style and for the first time I want to wear a green fragrance. Where to? I’ve no idea, but after so many months, I find myself returning to my decant to dab, to take a nice sniff on occasion . . Unheard of thing for me to do. I might own Spirito one day.

the first time i tested it I was turned off by how masculine it seemed. but I have decided to give it another shot today. I’ve been battling with headache this whole day and now that I’m wearing Spirito I feel an amazing soothing effect it has on my pain. It feels like a gentle cold stream takes me somewhere and don’t have to worry about a thing. I enjoy this green herbal scent so much. I can definitely feel the chamomile note which is beautiful here.

Opens with a musky caramelised onion smell, after a minute or so switches to a nice but not outstanding fugère. One hour into it the onion comes back, not too pungent and not caramelised this time, now accompanied by chamomile and other light dried greens. It’s not a musky dirty onion, but rather a fresh one. Not hard to wear, 7/10

One of those rare fragrances that (for an individual experiencing them) can become a thing beyond comprehension and above all perception. Orchestral like all Meo Fusciuni creations, but this is an orchestra playing soft, delicate, subtle in my opinion – unlike everything else

Tried it last year, and got really impressed and placed it on my wishlist. Retested it recently, and I was just lukewarm. The top is really nice, a great fougere, fresh, minty, artemisiac, but noot really unique. On the other way, it calms a bit fast in the drydown, and becomes forgettable. Unfortunately, I can hardly forget flaws when the price tag goes north of $200, so I went down from love to just ok. (had it retailed for half its price, I'd have given it a like. But still, just a like, at most). Neither trust a first impression, test thouroughly any frag before buying!!

The perfect fresh fougere, with a bit of green bitterness and resins in the background. Possibly the most beautiful green thing I have ever smelt. But is it worth the $275 price tag?? Well... I have it on my wish list, but will not press the trigger before having found a great deal, for sure.

Oh GOD.... Meo WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT! This is a typical Davidoff blend! Please tell me that it's a prank! the usual fougere blend, or to be more specific... a "for him" labelled designer's blend AT MAX. Geranium, cypress, sandalwood, cedar, musk, lavender, vetiver, smoke, & elemi. After sniffing "L'Oblìo" i thought Spirito would be a variation of that or maybe another version of insanity but it turned to be an extreme disappointing and a commercial blend. If this blend was "Lacoste's" i wouldn't be surprised but it's Meo's. An extreme disappointment.

Nostalgic Fougerie, 90s. The opening reminded me of the Denim aftershave that my grandfather used. Above all I get green notes, vetiver, cedar, cypress, sweet elemi. It remains almost the same as it improves drying, becoming smoker, but it basically reminds me too much of the post gym commercial shower shampoo. Specifically the ... Badedas gel. Sorry.

  • em inglês

Total let down. It smelled synthetic and to be precise like a cheap deodorant was sprayed over an already sweaty body. I expected so much more given the hype it was given. I wouldn't use it if it was even free.

  • em inglês

Am I the only one getting this off-putting chopped onion vibe with leftover kebab? I wanted to like this so bad as well - being a Meo fan - but this thing is just not in line what the house seems to be about

  • em inglês

A nondescript concoction of contradicting herbal notes that resemble a rain forest. At first glance it’s quite difficult to point out all the notes, everything feels perfectly intact and in harmony. Unfortunately, after a minute or so, a strange "funk" emerges - which is likely the result of hyssop and papyrus and/or possibly a tinge of patchouli wrapped in civet musk that reminds me of body odor. To make matters worst, in the dry down, a shower gel aroma surfaces which smells very much like dihydromyrcenol, thus making the scent unwearable. Despite its flaws, Spirito is blended remarkably well, but is overall not something I find interesting nor appealing as I am reminded of B.O. covered up by axe body spray. To those wondering, this smells nothing like Italian Cypress, not in the least. So don't bother with this one if that is what you are after.

I've recently been sampling several perfumes from Meo Fusciuni. So far, these are all introspective, quiet creations--nothing bold or bombastic, but they're all really lovely, and I get the sense from interviews and the way shop keeps and other perfumers talk about him that he is a thoughtful, elegant, and articulate fellow. Because I agonize over these things, I wonder if he might be bummed out (or maybe, hopefully, elated?) to read a review wherein someone compares his Spirito offering to a less sleazy, more delicate and pensive Drakkar Noir? Ok, some context. I love Drakkar Noir. I always have. My high school boyfriend used to wear it, and I found it rather swoony. In retrospect, I am realizing that I wanted it to be a swoony fragrance FOR ME. I wanted to smell like a villainous rascal reeking of peppery-woody-musky fougère! And somehow --just today!-- I am realizing that I have been drawn to various iterations of this combination of notes all throughout my journey with perfume. When I smelled Spirito this morning, I thought, "Gosh! This is like Drakkar Noir leveling up after 12 lifetimes, and it's finally stopped being the skeeziest guy at titty bars. It mediates and keeps a journal, and it'll listen with intent when you talk now, and it'll ask you if you want venting space or solution space. It's sensitive and self-aware. Maybe even a little wistful and ruminative. In reviewing their various compositions, it looks like they don't have an awful lot in common. Just angelica, lavender, vetiver, and cedar. Maybe the interplay between the notes creates some kind of connection for me, I don't know. But I'm sticking with it. Spirito is a poetry-reading, contemplative Drakkar Noir whose roguish heart, it turns out, is just as fragile and hopeful, just as much as a dreamer as mine. Meo Fusciuni, I mean no offense or insult! I adore Drakkar Noir, and as far as I am concerned, it is legendary. And Spirito took it (or my memory of it) to task and turned it into something softer, lovelier, and better.

🌿 Return to the Village After Years in the City 🌾 I’m returning to my childhood village after twenty years of living in the city. Grandma’s house still stands where it always has, but it smells different now. Once there were bouquets of roses on the dresser and sweet cakes on the table. Now herbs hang drying from the beams: angelica, chamomile, hyssop, tough and bitter. I step into the garden. The cypress has grown to the sky, and vetiver tangles by the gate like a wild, untamed hedge. Green is everywhere, but not the fresh, joyful green of spring. It’s the green of late summer, when the grass turns yellow and herbs release their strongest scent after the sun has drawn out all their water. In my grandfather’s workshop, his old notebook still lies where he left it. The pages are yellowed with time, smelling of dust and cedar from the beams. I pick it up, the paper rustles beneath my fingers, and the scent of guaiac wood rises from the tool-filled shelves. Vetiver holds everything together, dark, rooty, a little smoky. Tonka bean tries to soften the roughness, but only as a gentle whisper. Spirito is not sweet nostalgia. It is a hard, earthy memory, beautiful, but with something bitter inside. Like returning to a place you loved, knowing it will never be the same again. @the.scent.files

This is an easy wear, I don’t find anything challenging here. A nice Sunday afternoon with a walk to your favourite coffee shop, not wanting to draw attention to yourself kind of scent. It’s not boring as I keep sniffing my arm and enjoying its presence. It’s got that touch of Meo Fusciuni depth that is beautiful thoughtful and relaxed.
