Addictive Oriental by Alberto Morillas

I like this a lot. Maybe I'm a sucker for fragrances created by Alberto Morillas, or a sucker for mint (or both), but I think he's done a good job with Addictive Oriental for the Mercedes-Benz VIP Collection. This is a fairly light, higher frequency style of oriental, in the same vein as something like Samourai by Alain Delon. It opens with a deft accord of mint that sort of zips out of the atomizer and moves along in a quick and precise manner. It feels crisp, lightly sweet and mercurial. It's accented by a surprisingly realistic lemon note, that plays the background to a certain degree. I enjoy how Morillas chose to present the lemon here, keeping it off to the side to serve as an accent rather than dominating things with a sharp, citric presence. It allows the mint to shine but adds some character to it as well, and as it progresses, a sweet tonka bean comes in to play, adding an almost-bubblegum like sweetness to the accord of cool mint. At the same time, a very clean synthetic style (i.e, not herbal) of whitish floral lavender merges with the tonka and this comprises the fragrance's heart, where it persists for the majority of its duration. The blend of the tonka and lavender works well, creating a smooth sheen that is both clean and sweet. Everything has been enhanced and given an expansive floral dimension that maintains the clean/sweet theme through the use of paradisone, a tenacious variation of hedione that is sweet and fresh, and void of any indolic facets . It has an important role in the composition and accounts for the 'fresh oriental blast' that comprises the first hour or so of the the fragrance. Addictive Oriental feels modern and upbeat, right in line with today's market. A sort of vague woody base becomes present in the very late dry down with perhaps a touch of vanilla or amber, nothing spectacular, but nothing to complain about. It arrives very late and more or less serves as a quiet conclusion to the more thrilling heart and opening. This fragrance wears pretty cool and light as far as its notes are concerned, yet it projects very well. If you're wearing it indoors, it might be wise to go light on the trigger before becoming acquainted with how it wears on your skin and establishing a gauge on its projection. Sillage seems impressive. Longevity is decent, though it could be better (around 6 hours). This seems pretty versatile as far as season and occasion, though it might not work in summer. It would be easy to dress it up or down. Addictive Oriental is indeed addictive, especially its opening accord of mint which I just love. Of the five new fragrances in the VIP Collection, it's certainly the most unisex and I can see women enjoying this one as well. Thumbs up, and worth sampling to see if it works for you. 7.5/10, possibly 8.

Send me to rehab. As this Addictive Oriental is dangerously desirable. There is something of an other world about this fragrance. So soft, velvety, tastefully sweet and satisfying too. I would make a direct comparison to another iconic scent of the past. That being the original Kouros. They share some similarities for sure. Similar reassuring effects to being surrounded by a cloak of warm and comfortable plush cotton. Though, Addictive Oriental is easier to wear and not as cloying. Be warned , the mint in Addictive Oriental will keep you captivated from start to finish.You will be smelling your wrist , for any remaining aroma , when you wake first thing in the morning.

this is surprisingly good ! another great releases by Mr.Morillas ! and yes, its addictive ! i didnt like it at first, but after several wearings, this one grows on me. great great stuff ! definitely a BUY ! and yes it reminds me of Kenzo Homme Night somehow.

Good one this has a kind of old school vibe to it, i have never smelled something quite like it, but i do like it and that's all that matters to me, try it out if you can its worth it.

Fig bomb, very well blended, classy and very elegant. Great fragrance, not overpowering or anything. I find it masculine.

What a blind buy surprise! Just a lovely scent in a lovely bottle.

I have to admit, something about this scent made me just have to buy it. I enjoy most creations by Alberto Morillas, and combined with the name of the fragrance, Addictive Oriental, I was sold. So what does it smell like? Sort of like Acqua Essenziale Blu meets a feminine version of Versace Eros. The main smell is a strong sweet fig which is quite feminine, but the rest of the composition is very masculine. The result is a pleasing, somewhat unique, albeit not-that-interesting fragrance. Almost everything Morillas creates is good, but not everything is a gem. I'd put this one somewhere in between.

Wasn't sure at first, butim starting to understand it and smell it more. I sprayed this on a sweatshirt 2 times and when i put the sweatshirt back on later, I thought "did I spray Eros on this?!". Yes, im guessing the mint and tonka gives me similarities to eros. Not as in your face, but definitely there. I would say its kinda crazy not to smell the similarities, its pretty obvious. Its more spicy, while Eros is sweet and not as strong. I also get an F Black vibe from this too. Its quite nice and blind buy worthy. Especially at 25 bucks!

This is a very easy to wear and pleasing scent to the senses. I think the majority of people would enjoy wearing this scent and also smelling on others. Initially this opens with a burst of mint and underlying citrus, the delightful sweet tonka and sandalwood comes into play and creates a lovely base which lasts on the skin 5 + hours. I highly recommend this scent to anyone who is looking for a classy date night or special occasion scent at an affordable price. Cool bottle design too 8/10

My father gifted me this 10 years ago, it one of my first perfumes. I still have my bottle with a few sprays left in it, brings back lovely memories

"بوی ترش مرکباتی و بوی سبز و تلخ نعناع یا شاید برگ گیاه انجیر هست رو حس می کنم که اینها در فضایی شیرین، گرم و پودری ملایم از رایحه مشک و اسطخدوس مخلوط شدن و رایحه کمی از چوب نیز حضور داره. طبع رایحه معتدل نزدیک به گرم هست. مزه رایحه هم شیرین هم تلخ سبز گونه هست جوری که شیرین بودن آن اصلا احساس آزردگی ایجاد نمی کنه. احساس می کنم حتی در هوای گرم هم حس جالب و آرامش بخشی داشته باشه. شاید به خاطر وجود حس سبز و باطراوت موجود در رایحه هست که چندان گرما و شیرینی تونکا و چوب کشمیر اذیت نمی کنه در فصل گرم. اما به نظرم در هوای معتدل و خنک حس عالیتری نسبت به هوای گرم و سرد ایجاد می کنه. پخش و ماندگاری هم در هوای معتدل و خنک، مناسب هست."

Fragrance Review For Addictive Oriental Mercedes-Benz Top Notes: Lemon Mint Middle Notes: Lavender Clary Sage Fig Base Notes: Cashmere Wood Sandalwood Tonka This is a very nice men's fragrance, soft, easy on the nose, great for cuddling, hugging, kissing and getting intimately close to your man. It wears like a fougere which of course means it's unisex and it's easy for me to wear as a woman. The lavender note is wonderful. I love lavender scents. The sandalwood is also an aromatic addictive scent and this is as far as it goes regarding it being a fougere (lavender plus sandalwood). It's not a traditional fougere however and I don't see how it's an Oriental either. It's just a sweet and very old fashioned aftershave type of smell. It opens with mint and lemon, citrusy and minty, sharp but then it softens into fig. The fig is probably the dominant accord and it was mainly fig to my nose. There's also a touch of vanilla fragrance in the form of Tonka bean. There's a woodsy note (cashmere, also found in women's frags) and of course the sandalwood which brings everything together and gives it volume, depth and aroma. This is very nice. I wish more women could study the composition of fragrances even men's so that they can see how easy it is to wear men's colognes because frankly some of them are unisex and have a feminine side (just like all men). This is one of them. A gorgeous very minty fresh and sweet fig and sandalwood scent. It's great to wear in the morning. It has a good sillage and longevity. It's a very well made fragrance. Kudos Alberto Morillas.

Sherlock Holmes - A Game of Shadows (2011) Sherlock Holmes in the gypsy tent. Thick maroon fabric walls, plush cashmere rugs underfoot. Part of a gypsy camp hidden somewhere in the forest. Many well to do, well read and well traveled people probably have a type of room or style of decor like this in their house - It's somewhat of a study/library/reading room, with a wall(s) of bookshelves filled with books. Warm antique'ish halogen lamp, or track lighting. thick carpet or oriental throw rugs, probably with maroons. Eclectic array of African, Asian, and European art. Maybe a coffee table with a printed photo album of their most recent worldly travels. Better in cooler/cold, dryer weather; this is a cashmere sweater after all. And like a sweater, the lavender is only as scratchy as you think it to be. Easy grab, and easy to wear in those conditions. Soft spoken, but more than ambient. Elevated, but also has a sense of bohemian to it. The tonka rustic, and the cashmere a European exoticness. Intimate, warm, dusty, introspective, not intellectual but pondersome, not dark but a little clandestine.

OK this one my fiance is smelling she is losing her mind. First of all this is beast mode for sure. One spray on back of the hand, will pump perfectly. 2-3 sprays on neck will be too strong. She will be searching for you all over your physique if you hide this on your left hand. Then she might finally find Alberto lol. Look, the whole VIP line is great because it is the DNA signature of the artists in each bottle doing renditions of the vibe they were assigned. This one is sweet, and dry barbershop mixed. Like a sweet ripe yuzu or lemon, followed during drying by a double mint gum sort of transition into barbershop and a dry finish similar to a wine (fig im told), deep dry down into chalky valentine hearts with a soft gourmand spice touch, but the sweetness of the plump lemon ticks around in the back. Very nice!

I was driving down the highway applying this in my Mercedes when the highway patrol pulled me over to ask me what I was wearing. They asked for my autograph. I signed Alberto Morillas. I wore this to the ballgame, I had great seats behind home plate, the singer of the Star Spangled Banner asked what I was wearing by the twilights last gleaming. Everyone stood up. Something about this causes people who aren't masked up to salute you. The clary sage is like sandpaper, a very nice touch.

The hole VIP Collection sounds awesome , especially the pure woody Edition , can hardly wait till it comes to Egypt & the bottle design really great !!!!

Original and creative scent (Morillas by force), but unfortunately I was disappointed by the performance. Becomes very close to skin within 2 hours.
