Mercedes Benz Club Extreme

This is a fine patchouli/vanilla based men's scent that is bound to please. The opening presents an odd citrus veneer over the heart notes that seems a bit discordant and out of place, but thankfully it passes within minutes. Honestly, I think this opening is where one could find CE a bit off-putting, but it almost doesn't resemble the lovely evolution to follow. After the strange top notes fade away, this transitions to something akin to layering MBZ Club Black (vanilla/wood) with YSL Tuxedo (patchouli/amber, but minus the rose and violet leaf). "Extreme" scales back the vanilla from Club Black and rounds it out with a healthy dose of patchouli (on the chocolatey side), some light woods and just a tease of leather. I think I'd like it better with a touch of incense, maybe some violet leaf and/or thyme to accentuate the herbaceous side of the patchouli, but I still think it's very good as it is. Like Club Black, this one doesn't push out too far and announce its presence before you enter a room - nor does it last especially long. Moderate in terms of sillage and a good 7-8 hours of longevity in my experience. Then again, I don't tend to douse myself, so your mileage may vary. :) Overall, MBZ Club Extreme isn't really extreme in any way, but it is a decent and inoffensive woodsy/vanillic fragrance that "reeks" of quality IMO. Good for a cool day or evening out, and just light enough for a Spring day. Layers well, too. This started out as a "like" for me, but has really grown on me over time. Enough so that I just "had to" stock up. Glad that I did, as I can see this becoming a dumb grab type go-to for me.

Mercedes Benz Club Extreme is more than just a fragrance; it's an olfactory journey that traverses contrasting landscapes. From the unpredictable opening of Layton and Pure Malt to the bold leather heart, culminating in the intriguing dance of land and sea, it promises an adventure in every bottle.

Preliminary thoughts with first wearing: VERY nice. A much sweeter, smokier, and much more likeable Mercedes Benz Club, which I had and sold before. It's hard to gauge the strength because I've been smelling other scents all day, but I went back for 2 more applications throughout the course of the day. It starts out like a lion, but ends with a whisper... but that may just be the anosmia or scent fatigue speaking. UPDATE: It was definitely anosmia. This scent performs great on its own. The scent itself reminds me most of Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black, but more masculine, and stronger to boot. I'm sure no one will upvote that comparison, but it's true and if you smell both I think you'd agree, although I can see how some compare this to Mugler Amen, even though those two are nothing alike. This sits somewhere in the middle, if you will, since it has that amber and patchouli on one side and a bit of a sandalwood vanilla vibe on the other. Overall, I like it! It's sweet and spicy and different from the norm. It's dark and yet unique, and a definite improvement on the original Mercedes Benz Club. Only negative is, it's somewhat rare and hard to come by. I'm glad I bought a bottle when I did, because I haven't seen too many available since.

The reason why I chose this over Mugler's Pure Malt or the original A*Men is because I want that booziness and fruitiness from Pure Malt and I also want that sweetness and warmth from the original A*Men. Mercedes-Benz Club Extreme is just both of them, combined. Actually, it is smoother, fresher, and a bit more woody. I can smell a bit of the fruitiness and booziness from the Pure Malt, but the patchouli DNA from the original A*Men is also here and I can smell it clearly. Again, it is also more woody than both A*Men fragrances I mentioned. Both of those Muglers have better performance than this one overall, but this one is also performing very well on my skin. I have yet to test it more properly, but that was my first impression about it. It is great. I got it for a great price and that's what makes it more worth it than getting a very inflated price of that Pure Malt, and it is definitely more wearable than the original A*Men.

It's a lovely scent to me. I had a hard time finding it, and even though it's not his season, I couldn't wait to try it. It's a really sexy fall-winter scent and I'll be happy to wear it. It actually holds up very well in the heat! Very musky, ambery and that lotus... ohhh great! I wish I got a spare bottle but I bought the last one! The search continues! A very good addition to my collection! This is a fragrance with which you will certainly be different and attract attention. This is almost niche quality and longevity is 9-10 hours on me! 8.5/10

I really enjoy Club Extreme. It's a very easy to wear frag, enjoyable to both wearer and others. Light, soft, clean, bit soapy. Joyfull. It does smell like a upgraded A*Men. Seasons: all year long except the heat of summer. On my skin it performs good. I'm getting 5-6hrs with two sprays. Projection is ok. Others will smell it from 3-4 feet for ca.2 hours before it becomes a skin scent (you can always put a single spray on your shirt and it will project much longer). I paid 20eur for a bottle which was a steal.

Club Extreme smells very similar to Ultra Red by Paco Rabanne in terms of density, scent, quality and longevity. If you like Ultra Red or Ultra Zest by Mugler. You really cannot go wrong with Club Extreme. Particularly if you aren't paying more than the average discount price. DO NOT OVERPAY!! 🆘 I will add that this fragrance should've been an EDP concentration given its name. With that being said, don't expect extreme performance from Club Extreme. 🤣💯 Overall: 8/10

Mercedes benz Club extreme is the definition of a hidden gem fragrance. It has pretty good performance on me, around 7 hours. Best way for me to describe it is it smells very "seductive" and I picture a very mysterious guy like James bond wearing this fragrance. This fragrance would work great in a night out situation or could be used for work if your that "mysterious" guy. Club extreme is an awesome fragrance if you can get it for a decent price. 8.5/10

I’m really tired, finally I got it after long searching 😅 I like it, it smells very Good the opening is woody leathery with some sweet comes from patchouli, I’m glad to add it to my collection as new scent which I don’t have before, I gave it 8/10 coz of Great Price, Nice Look of battle and good lasting and Sillage .

I stumbled along this in a local savers store priced at £9.99 for 50ml with a 75g stick deodorant 😯😯, I pop in regularly looking for the holy grail of Mercedes Benz black. So I purchased 2 😂 love that first wood and booze blast which calms down to a mild patchouli which is quite soothing. All in all a lucky find 😊

I like this one, it does smell a bit like mercedes intense blended with another one, i just cant remember who, but like Endymion said this i have smelled before not to long ago, I cant figure out who it was, but anyway i like it a lot it has a spicy and balsamic feeling.

I had it back in 2015 and it was great leather amber woody , last year I get another bottle and that mysterious leather linger was gone,, some nice ambery smoke was left with good longevity ... I gave to a friend .

Every time I wear this cologne, I always get compliments. If you don't feel like getting compliments, don't wear this one, wear a spice bomb, xoxo Sky, I won't let my weight define me, only by scent.

Very Premium smell and for the price its really great, bottle feels cheap but not a big deal.

The second most hyped Mercedes-Benz fragrance behind Club Black. I have also seen this one on numerous "top 10" lists, so I decided to take the plunge and blind buy it alongside Club Black to see for myself. Here's how it went; Scent: Opening is woody, leathery, and citrusy. The main notes I get are mandarin orange, patchouli, leather, and the woodsy notes. The strongest of the notes is the patchouli and leather, giving it a sweet, earthy, animalic vibe, followed by the woodsy notes and mandarin orange that give it a woody fruitiness. I also get a malty, boozy note in there somewhere, similar to Mugler's Pure Malt; which is strange since there aren't any boozy notes listed in the breakdown. The dry down is woody, sweet, and powdery. The main notes I get are patchouli, leather, amber, and woodsy notes. The strongest of the notes are the patchouli and amber, giving it a sweet, earthy, and powdery vanilla scent, followed by the animalic leather, then finally the sturdy woods in the background. The sandalwood does a good job of mixing with the amber to create a creamy vanilla note. I also still get that mysterious malty booziness that was present in the opening. Performance: Initial projection is strong, around 6 feet. Sillage is strong as well with an easily noticeable scent trail. After a few hours the projection was about arms length and there was still a moderately noticeable scent trail. At the 8-9 hour mark there was still about 12 inches of projection and a lightly noticeable scent trail. 13 hours later, after some napping, the projection and scent trail were unchanged. That's some impressive performance. When to wear: This is a fall/winter fragrance most suitable for night time wear, but could be done in the day time to a lesser extent. This would be too strong for the office, but could work well as an interesting scent for a date night. Blind buy: If you enjoy woody and sweet scents, or the idea of a sweeter and woodier Mugler's Pure Malt appeals to you, this is a safe blind buy for you. Final verdict: Another great entry in my collection from Mercedes-Benz. Of the two I have, I prefer Club Black; but this is a close second. It's masculine, smells wonderful, excellent performance, and best of all; is very affordable. A solid pick for a fall/winter rotation. Add this one to your collection on your next fragrance run, you won't be disappointed. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 10/10 Sillage: 7/10

It's a very modern and fresh take on an old fragrance note that, like oakmoss, many users associate with a bygone era. It's a good blend of woody, floral, citrus and very fresh patchouli musk. It's noticeably similar but also much lighter and fresher than Tuxedo. As such, it's actually great for outdoor activity and social use. It will shine in the cooler Fall and Spring. This is unisex and good for all ages. However, it may not have much appeal to younger users brought up on the Invictus and 1 Million fragrance DNAs that have the same freshness but more sweetness. Those who dislike sweet fragrances, however, should appreciate this as it it's very fresh without the sweetness but doesn't come off like an old-fashioned fougere. Performance is good, its designer quality and the bottle is unique and cool. If you already own Tuxedo or a clone of it, you might find this a bit redundant despite its fresher take. If you don't, this is a no brainer. High recommend.

This is a subdued “Mugler” style fragrance. It has IMO similarities to Pure Malt, but not as challenging with all that signature Mugler DNA. This is not a random statement, I got my bottle today and had no idea what to expect, just that it is hard to find. Upon application I instantly thought Pure Malt. Funny enough I also got Robert Graham Fortitude, which gets Mugler comparisons, and I did not get that at all? This is a pretty nice scent, I paid roughly $70.00 Canadian, and this is available currently (March 2023) at Fragrancebuy.ca. If you want a Mugler fix in the realm of Pure Malt this will get you there, and since much of the line is hard to find at a fair cost, this is a good enough option at this time. Funny thing, when I got this I was disappointed to some degree. Not because it’s bad, but because I keep wanting something new, and I am finding now my collection has hit that point where I have so many items in a similar fragrance group and style. Fortitude seems promising, but lately my aftershave splashes from Phoenix Accoutrements have been the most interesting, yet this site offers nothing about them...YET.

I have Club Extreme because the Star Men Nebula fragrance i grabbed from Fragrance World gave me a weird reaction. So i sold it. Picking up Club Extreme on a random restock on Fragrancebuy came in super clutch! It’s woody and has that Pure Malt similarity! It’s not as potent but the silage is great! I don’t recall what pure wood or pure coffee smell like but i definitely smell pure malt for sure! After finally smelling Club Black i definitely prefer Club Extreme! Club Black is way too overhyped in my honest opinion and to me I’ve found better vanilla fragrances in that cheaper price range.

Got this in today, smells great! Sweet woody patchouli-ness. Comes up form time to time with our favorite Youtubers, and it is a good recommendation. I don't know about the comparisons because I never had what this is compared to, but I am glad to have it in my collection. Chocolate isn't listed as a note, but I can see why people pick up on it. If you're into the sweet woody fragrances, then this is a no-brainer.

Although I bought this with very less info, I'm very pleased and satisfied for the fragrance. I think the longevity is long lasting. When I sprayed on my cloth at night, it stayed until morning 8 AM. Seems like 8-10 hours. I don't know if others can detect the scent. Maybe must spray more than 4 times.

This is a nice leather/woody fragrance. The Patchouli is a supporting note. Reminds me of Boss Bottled Parfum and Boss Bottled Absolu. It doesn't smell exactly like either of them, but it shares the leather woody backbone with them.

I have no idea how people are comparing this to PDM Layton, Club Black maybe? Club Black is not Layton either, so this comparison is just hurting my brain. This is not helpful at all for people looking to blind buy.

This one smells very close to parfum de Marley Layton

This fragrance smells natural and almost niche like. It sits somewhere between softer version of Mugler A men, somehow winter version of Mugler pure shot and summer version of pure malt. I do not particularly like pure shot but the blend in this fragrance is very very nice. You get a slight semi sweet fruity vibe along with very soft leather but very soft that you have to sniff deep to catch it. My bottle is 2016 batch and the performance is excellent. The longevity is around 8-10 hours especially during cool fall days. Projection is around 3. I do not recommend using this fragrance during hot summers days since it will choke you up. Overall, it is a niche quality juice and gets compliments but i would not pay more than $80 for it. It is hard to find now and the prices are sky high so i would just pass on this and rather look into buy some other fragrance instead.

Batch code 2325. For quite a while it sat because it had almost no smell after first spray. Months later it smells very nice. I get the Mugler reference from this. It is quite nice for about 30 minutes. After that it's just gone. Nothing at all. It was purchased from Jomashop so that leads me to believe it is not a fake, but it has the performance of a fake. Guess it will go back on the shelf for a few more months and hope it changes more. Very disappointed.

A little boozy, sweet, and woody. An average fragrance and nothing makes you feel that this is unique.

This is straight up an attempt to smell like PDM Layton. Not sure where people are getting Tuxedo or Pure Malt vibes. Couldn't be further from it. A bit disappointed since I would have liked for it to be like Pure Malt and something vanilla like and boozy

Well, after a long wait of testing all the Mercedes lines. The extreme is powdery at first. It’s tone is very powder like. I don’t know if it’s a soft powder feel or what but the first initial hit is powder. After that it’s masculine and works for awhile. Stretching feels pretty nice and a shirt tucked in also. Anything to forget about how little of sleep I can achieve daily. The fact is ladies and gentlemen there aren’t enough minutes in time to enjoy this if you don’t have it. After 2-3 hours the patchouli hits are no joke. They actually are strong enough for a lite cough. The smoke isn’t all bad and is not a bad smell,but too enticing. I’d rather not enjoy a smoke, because my lungs are not getting any younger. Eating may become not as lite as suspected. The small portions are available and so are the large. This might be the line that decides us on the Extreme. Indoors it’s sustainable. Outdoors maybe not. 4-5 hours later 1-9 of your favorites may come out of this bottle as well. As a winter bottle I’m liking the Burberry indigo. but this one does have small pieces of Burberry. What do you think?

After a very brief citrus start, amber, sandalwood and patchouli are the main stars of this show. The supporting players are the musk, wood notes and a very soft leather accord, that is more suede than actual leather. It's a very pleasant oriental woody composition that is like a combination of some of this house's earlier work. I get some resemblance with the base of Mercedes-Benz Le Parfum and also find it contains some similarity to the sweetness of Mercedes Benz Club's Addictive Oriental and the spicyness of Infinite Spicy (the 1st and last also by perfumer Olivier Cresp). It also gets points for at least being a good performer in the longevity and projection stakes. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this sits on my skin. It's much nicer than the original Mercedes Benz Club which I found to be too screechy, sharp and a bit plastic. While it certainly won't shake the world with its arrival, this is a really pleasant and very well put together fragrance from the house of Mercedes Benz.

I smell leather, patchouli, bergamot and amber very nice, classy and masculine, suitable for formal occasions, but I have to say that performance is not top I had 3 to 4 hours longevity on my skin (about 12-20 hours on fabric) and average sillage. don't blind buy, I think this is kind of smell that would be intolerable for some people. in conclusion, even though I like the scent a lot, but despite the price, I'll pass. cheers. سلام بوی چرم،پاچولی ، مرکبات و عنبر رو به وضوح احساس کردم... اولش شبیه بوی یه چیز خوردنیه ... مثل بستنی کاکائویی با یه ته بوی مرکباتی خفیف... کم کم جا می افته و نت اصلی میاد. بوی خیلی باکلاس ، مردانه و دلنشین داره که بیشتر رسمی میزنه ، فقط ماندگاری و پخشش کاملا متوسطه حدود سه چهار ساعت روی پوست من دوام آورد. حدود 12-20 ساعت روی پارچه و پخشش هم متوسط بود. بدون تست نخرید ... به نظرم از نوع بوهاییه که ممکنه باعث سردرد یا حالت تهوع بشه. در مجموع بوش عالیه ، ولی با توجه به قیمت و عملکرد به نظر من ارزش خرید نداره. موفق باشید.

I get a strong chocolaty vibe to this in the opening from the Patchouli. Smells very strong when first sprayed and may be slightly challenging to beginners. It does have similar vibes to Mugler A*Men but with a little freshness in the background. Leather, woods, amber and musks come out to play after the initial blast. Projects pretty well. This would probably be better suited for cooler weather. Not office safe. Not bad for the $40 i paid for a Tester. If you can get A*Men for the same price, I'd go with that, as owning both may be slightly redundant, but if you can find a good deal and like darker fragrances, it'd be worth a pickup. I hear that this is on the chopping block for discontinuation but can't confirm it. Don't pay the inflated prices, cause i've been seeing this pop up lately for close to $100.

The opening minute or so is a very harsh, almost unpleasant chemical blast. What follows smells astonishingly similar to Pure Malt, FAR boozier than the notes would suggest. I believe this is the lotus flower giving some watery lift to the sweet amber-patchouli accord, with some help I suppose from the "Wood notes" suggesting barrel aged whiskey - all of this results in a surprising boozy kick to the back of your nose when you smell very close to where you sprayed. This effect diminishes as you get farther away - so I'd imagine the sillage is more reminiscent of original A*Men.

Researching the notes and reviews this sounded like an interesting fragrance, and it did not disappoint! I haven't tried mugler so I can't compare, but this has a masculine citrus/fresh/leather with woods background. I really like it, but I'm not going to keep it because i don't think it stands out enough compared to other things i have. If you want a cheap easy grab, i think because of the leather and woods this would be a great fall/winter scent. Message me if interested!

This is hands down on of the best fragrances Ive put my nose to. It is just amazing! It projects so so good and lasts well over 8hrs. Im not experienced with perfumes as i like perfumes that are sexy, long lasting, mass appealing and get me compliments. Based on these categories alone this is a 10/10 fragrance. I cant emphasize the sexiness factor of this fragrance enough. Its a no brainer for every man! Really blew me away!

For all those that say this smells like A*men, it does not, it may share that patchouli note but that's it. This one is dark, dry and resinous, there is very little sweetness here, yes there is a small amount of booziness at the start but not enough to call this a boozy fragrance. This imo is done in the same style as say nuit d'issey edp or bvlgari men in black. Still a beautiful fragrance none the less....

I really wanted a new bottle of a men , I loved it when I was in high school. I kept seeing that it's been reformulated a few times so I got a tester. It was a shadow of it's former self, def a hard no, so I got club extreme instead. It's definitely not a clone but it scratched my itch for a men way better then modern a men. If you want one now is the time, the last of it is still around.

Update to my comments below.... Now after having spent more time with this fragrance I've learned more about its facets. This in my opinion is similar in a couple of ways to mugler a*men, that being the patchouli, sweetness and woods. BUT this instead imo really leans more towards pure wood than a*men and would be a very good replacement for that discontinued gem.

This reminds me of Angel, but blue juice...which I believe is marketed to women. I don't care about the marketing... Angel by Mugler is my favorite bedtime scent. It, and this scent, are a medium performance patchouli embrace with an amber drydown.

Yep! This is the fizzy, wearable version of angel man. Deffo mugler vibes. Thought it came between a jpg on board and a mugler angel. Angel ultimate also is on the same tracks as this one.

The single strongest note I get is patchouli but altogether its a strong toffee/caramel both pleasing and long lasting (at least 6 hours). Good value I paid 12.99 sterling for 50ml in UK.

Angel’s revenge as Cresp finally gets to do a masculine version. I really love it, wish it was stronger. Fruity, boozy, soapy. Very relaxing in the evening.

Am I crazy or is this giving anyone else YSL Tuxedo vibes? Like a more masculine, less opulent version of Tuxedo. Someone tell me I'm not losing my marbles

It's like 70% Saharian Wind and 30% Pure Malt. Nice stuff
