Mercedes-Benz Select

After receiving this today and tryin it out I sprayed it on around 10:30 (about 5 sprays) and it lasted all together about 5 hrs. Mainly on my clothes this time. My honest subjective opinion is this is absolutely perfect for a date night fragrance. It projects very well for the first couple hours, and kinda starts dying down around the 3 hr mark, not very noticeable around 4 hours unless someone is VERY close to you and then it’s completely gone at around the 5th hour. So if I had to pick a time for this definitely a date night fragrance. Will probably perform better for me in the summer time, so I guess I’ll wait to see in a few months. Overall it’s a cheap fresh Aventus alternative. Edit: So I’ve realized it really depends on the fabric you spray this one that will get you good or poor longevity. On the skin you may get 3 hours.. However on my t shirts and my jackets I can spray this on and can still smell it on my clothes the next day. Very strange. However I would say not to purchase this fragrance if you’re looking for an Aventus clone. Go with Dossier perfumes Musky Oakmoss, Afnan Supremacy or CDNIM for a decent long lasting Aventus clone.

This cologne beyond blew away my expectations. The bottle alone looks super dope and is definitely the coolest looking bottle I own. At first you get a refreshing citrus and apple bomb, similar to the other aventus clones except CDNIM's first note. It transforms slighty aromatic that can come off as smokey, but you still mainly get the citrus and apple notes. $30 for a 100ml bottle is well worth the blind buy. Insurrection is very similar, but that first note is more pineapple and the drydown smells more complex and better in my opinion. Even though I prefer the insurrection scent, it doesn't last very long on my skin compared to mercedes. Mercedes doesn't last extraordinarily long either, but definitely much longer than insurrection. Great scent overall, decent longevity and dope presentation, this cologne gets a solid 8/10.

This was a blind purchase for me. After seeing that so many claimed it to remind them of Aventus. I was very skeptical. Not my first frag from Mercedes Benz so I didn't think I'd be too disappointed. This surprised me! Straight off the bat, I thought of Aventus! I'm sure it isn't a direct clone otherwise they would have added the pineapple notes. This will become my daily office scent. So fresh and lasts 5-6 hours on my skin but the projection isn't huge. Well done MB, another great fragrance. Intense has replaced Fahrenheit in my collection but this wont replace my Aventus but will definitely help my Aventus last longer as I will be reaching for this more than often.

I think if you're a fan of that sophisticated vibe Aventus gives off - you'll like this one. It does a really good job of replicating that aura of classiness that Aventus has - it's just lighter. Where Aventus has that good staying power - this one starts to fade out after a while. Mercedes Benz Select doesn't cost that much (or as much) - so you can reapply to suit your needs. Out of the few popular "clones" I have in my collection...I would rank this one at the top for replicating that familiar scent we all love. It's a very good fragrance at a very good price.

I've had a 2019 batch of this buried deep in my collection for nearly 2 years now - I broke it out earlier and I don't know how this got past me when I originally bought it. Harsh fruit on the opening but after 20 seconds it's masculine citrus, blackcurrant, apple, with a hint of smokiness. Not as well blended as Creed Aventus, but the 2019 batch of Mercedes Benz Select beats any batch of Aventus from 2019 onwards in almost every other category.

what a gorgeous smooth fragrance, dont compare this with quality of aventus , just enjoy the lemon, blackcurrant and apples , doesnt feel like a beast projector but very close to zara vibrant leather and rasasi zebra....fruity clean version of aventus kind of.white shirt or t shirt, and jeans to go with it.nice bottle.not a masterpiece but very very decent release.45 dollars perhaps a bit too high, id get it when its like 35 usd

I am happy to report this scent smells very good quality and natural, no Ambroxan vomit in this one just good, this is not like Montblanc explorer it’s Much better more natural no chemical smell. Mercedes has a hidden mango Smell it gives the perfume good depth, it’s more on the fresh green side without being sweet also it’s not smokey or woody. It’s Aventus in new way fresh good And not expensive excellent for work days

Just got my bottle in today. So I can’t speak of the longevity yet. But my first two initial sprays were very strong! A blast of fresh fruit and spice. The projection so far is very good. Sucks that the longevity has so many poor reviews though. This could have been my new go to. Guess I’ll see how it performs all around for me and that will be the deciding factor on if i keep it or get rid of it.

The best Aventus clone out there. Nice presentation, good longevity, quality juice, fruity, fresh, sexy, manly. It's Aventus simplified but, as others said, replicates very well the Aventus aura.

Bought it few days ago (50ml bottle) Still testing, but my Initial impressions are quite positive. Opens with strong citrus/green combo, and stays fresh throughout the day. I have never tried Aventus so I can't make comparison, but I don't smell any pineapple note in the opening. Perfume smells "serious", that's the word I would use to describe it, it's not overly sweet, doesn't try to follow current trend. It's sharp/precise/cold... As for longevity, I have to say currently it's quite weak, few hours max, hopefully this will change as it grows older. Had the same issue with MB Cologne, but after month or two is was way stronger. At the end, it's a nice, business perfume... nothing magnetic, intoxicating, sexy about it....(as in official presentation). As for the bottle design, I prefer other Mercedes bottles better (rounded ones). They look far more elegant and sophisticated. Funny thing about 50ml bottle, cap is almost bigger than the bottle itself... Will post my score in a couple of weeks. Cheers,

Select begins with sharp, airy bergamot and a platter of tropical fruits. Experienced noses will immediately be reminded of Aventus, Explorer and their kin. Select does dial down the woodiness and smoke found in its brethren, displaying a mostly fruity heart. The fruit accord is synthy but pleasant, but rather polite in its projection. The bergamot is surprisingly long lasting. The dry down is a familiar combination of ambroxan, patchouli and woody & musky fixatives. Performance is average on my skin. Overall, this is a well blended and appealing scent. Yet, to hobbyists, this isn't very original. A very safe present, blind buy worthy for a budget conscious man, and a reasonable clone of the much more expensive Aventus (Creed). However, in the same price range, I do believe the Explorer (Montblanc) is a better scent with largely the same accords and structure.

Nothing ground-breaking but still very nice. For the price, I think this is hard to beat. Opening is just lots of lemons with a touch of pepper in the background and something that reminds me a tad of bubblegum (without the excessive sweetness). Mid smells straight up like Escada Sentiment but mixed with lots of lemon. Dry-down goes into CDNIM territory... but with lots of lemon. This is a very nice Spring and Summer fragrance. For Fall, it's alright. It may be a little too sharp in very cold weather. Unfortunately, it doesn't last very long on my skin, maybe 1.5 hour. After that, a respray is needed. Recommended.

On its own this frag is brilliant, pleasant scent profile that will do great for office wear. Don’t get this as a clone of Aventus, there are better ones out there. Get this if you have the other two Mercedes Benz Select frags, select day is brilliant for warmer climates, select night is the sexy one and this one is versatile enough for any season and any occasion. These Mercedes Benz frags have decent longevity and juices are of great quality, not beast mode or anything of the sort but they are nicely crafted and unique enough cause most people usually overlook this house.

I guess my batch is different. On my skin it is only dark and bitter wood. like dark chocolate with tons of wood with a very light citrous hint. Very rustic and intense. I don't get any fruity nuance on this. After 2 hours it calms down the wood stat and has more musk and mineral/amber to get more gentle and less rustic. It reminds some Axe and Old Spices deodorant vibe. It is a really nice fragrance but thanks god I bought the travel size bottle. Definatelly not for me. Medium perfomance: around 6 hours and strong sillage for 2 hours

Smells good, fresh, fruity but doesn't last one bit. You have to shower with this fragrance if you want it to last more than 3 hours. But for those 3 hours you will smell so clean. The bottle is high quality, heavy glass, nice click cap. Only gripe is the performance, as mentioned lasts 3-5 hours with good projection for the first hour then becomes a skin scent you can catch whiffs of. Dont go out of your way to get this, if its available for cheap worth the pickup.

This stuff smells great, got this and Mercedes Man at the same time. I am just really sad this thing does not last. I put this and Man on a thing of cardboard to smell and overnight Select was almost completely gone, while Man was still going decently strong. I put Select on my skin and about 1 hour later it is about 75% gone.

To me this smells more like afnan supremacy silver. Afnan is just about the same price projects longer and stronger. All in all they are both creed clones at the end of the day. I just think if you are wanting a creed clone there are better options out there for around the same price point.

Yes it is reminescent of fruity non smoky Aventus. But it is very simple non complex interpretation of Aventus. Black currant and ambroxan are most prominent here. Performance is avarage. Nice scent ovrrall when not compared to Aventus. Bought it for 26$ and its good price for what it is.

I like it. Yes, another "clone" of Aventus, but a bit different than the other clones or inspired by scents of Aventus. It has its own twist. Very fruity and citrus heavy scent. Pleasant. Compliment getter. Great for spring and great for the office.

Creed Aventus DNA not as intense as other Aventus clones. I’ll say it is like Aventus Cologne with a little bit of mint and no woods or incense. Very fresh for the gym, day at the beach or pool.

It’s not bad but for the people that complain about the performance just over spray a little you should be okay 8 sprays last me my whole work day and that’s that matters.

If you tried mercedes benz intense (2013) you don't need to try this one .. it's the same but with a little bit of mintiness

affordable loewe esencia alternative? or just another cheap aventus creed clone? yep, both of them, sadly very weak. 5/10

oh my love "mercedes benz cologne i got for me and my girlfriends one year" what can i say about you. the bottle is cool, i like the design. thats the coolest part, but might be worth it just for that. scent wise it may be lacking. i actually really enjoy the scent of this cologne but it does not last and (quite honestly) is an aventus knockoff, which everyone knows. its not as in your face and maybe scent wise i prefer this but it does not lasttttt. i have tried everything, and it doesnt project. you get 30 minutes of half decent projection and its gone. i love you, cool cologne bottle, but it's not great.

This is a nice inexpensive cologne but the TERRIBLY short longevity kills my interest. I can detect all the notes, and they blend well. I spent a full day with my sample, but truly I had to spray about every half hour if I was going to enjoy it at all. So... if you like to spritz something on at the start of the day, smell real nice for bit, and then forget about it... OR let's say you have the patience to re-apply all day long... then give it a whirl. Definitely sample first. And obviously some others got better staying power than I did. You can hope for that.

Certainly not MB's forte. Stick to high performance autos. Then scent is ok, not something I gravitate towards. Yet, it is extremely weak. Doesn't give anything in terms of enjoyment for me. Certainly glad I just had a sample to try. If you like it, good for you. It is a pass for me.

This must be the weakest fragrance I have ever tested. Pleasant, but it goes skin scent just after a few minutes. It's in the same Aventus family but not overly similar to it to be honest, I'd say save your money for something better than this.

Just tried this. I see so many people comparing it to Aventus and its clones. I don't see it. To me, it's a whole lot closer to Terre d'Hermes.

The fragrance is ok, rated overpriced for the price point as it does not even last for a good 4 hours.

Do you want a super weak Aventus like frangrance? Buy this. It smells great for the first 20 minutes, then it disappears like a magic act. If you are looking for an Aventus like fragrance, there are lots of options for similar prices. Mercedes puts out great fragrances this is not one of them. The Sign lines is a really good line.

Aventus Light. Very synthetic but quite smooth and well blended fruity, light and non-smoky version of Aventus. Basically it's very nice juice for the price. I get 3-5h of longevity depending on weather conditions so it's rather poor. Definitely spring/summer scent and another obvious Aventus clone if you are on a budget.

I enjoy it - never used Aventus but this isn't bad. It's got a high rating - but the real determining factor is the wife test. She said it smelled spicy - then said it reminded her of ben gay. She wasn't a fan. So I guess that's that.

It's an Aventus that sits close to the skin...for about 30 minutes and then it's gone. I would skip this one if you're looking for something with any kind of performance.

This smells 90% like Bond No. 9 Scent Of Peace For Him. It does not remind me of Aventus, but I can see where people say it has "similarities" here-and-there. Up front I get tons of citrus which is bergamot. It's not the kind of bergamot that is super high quality. I can almost mistake the bergamot for a synthetic pineapple. Also extremely noticeable is the black currant. This stuff is all about the black currant. I think the ambroxan is there giving it overall depth, but it isn't overwhelming at all. The mint is ever-so-slightly there, which is nice! To me, this is maybe 25% Aventus but 90% Scent Of Peace For Him. The only thing this is really lacking is wood on the dry down. Not bad at all!

With equal parts Aventus and Sauvage, worse than either, and reminiscent of other lesser Aventus clones. I'll cut and paste my review of Mont Blanc Explorer, it's much the same: "A hollowed out Aventus. Possibly the same aroma-chemical backbone minus all the expensive good bits." Here, the hollowed out pineapple/birch accord being much lesser than Aventus; the ambroxan losing all the redeeming features of Sauvage (and that's saying something!) I wonder how the fragrance will go down with actual drivers of Mercedes? If I owned a Mercedes I'd spend the change on the Creed.

Plum and black currant CA clone that will leave you with sweet skin scent, almost like a burnt caramel in the drydown. Weak performance though. The recent batches have this clear-green color of the liquid while one time I also encountered a clear-violet liquid color. Smelled both and they are the same. Some shops sell this for a cheapie while others will charge more so I cannot say that this will be a bang for the buck. Currently sits at rank number 9 in my Aventus clones list. I've always steered clear of car brands in perfume but this one is surprisingly good! I love it mainly for the unusual way of showcasing one of my fav ingredient - blackcurrant! It's offered in a manly way, fruity but constrained, a bit harsh and elegant. I always hated apple in perfume but here it sounds right probably thanks to the combo with mint which I love. Different from the current male mainstream trend which is so refreshing. Perfect hot weather scent or an office frag evoking professionalism with a flair!

Mercedes-Benz Select is very well blended, modern and pleasant scent. I can find clear connection with Aventus - no doubt Select got similar DNA. Here we got the perfect balance between fresh-fruity notes - not too sharp at the start, not too juicy at the drydown. For advanced users this scent won't bring something new, but for people who are not much into fragrances, Select will be the Holy Grail!

I freaking absolutely LOVE the opening of this fragrance. This fragrance is what got me to "kinda like" and "kinda understand" Creed's Aventus. I still don't like Aventus. But the fruity-citrus punch opening... where can I find a fragrance like the opening before it turns into a likable, "diet" Aventus?

Got this at Ross for $26.99. I will say I sprayed the cardboard box and I got typical blue fragrance. Then I scrolled down a little bit and I saw somebody say wood chocolate when they sprayed it on skin. once I did, I absolutely got what they were talking about.

ok so i have 2019 batch. 10/10. This was my first fragrance and its my most complimented fragrance. the 2019 batch was awesome. id do two sprays on skin and get complimented all throughout the day.

This is nice but not having depth like aventus at all, if you like the fruity part in aventus then go for it as it is linear on fruity throughout the journey of 4 hours. Projection is very low.

A nice but weaker version of CDNI I agree the bottle is hefty and nice but it morphs into something that reminds me of bug spray. Maybe more later.

If you’re looking for Aventus on a budget there are far better options. But all you really need is Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Man for $22

Aventus in Mercedes bottle, I didn’t like it... too much for coping this .. I smell Aventus in everywhere... enough is enough
