Balle Rouge

The iris is strong in this one. I've only tested this so this is just my first impression, but I'm immediately reminded of the waxy, makeup-like iris from Dior Homme Parfum. It's got that extra musky earthiness that separates DHP from DHI. The pink pepper right up front keeps it bright and fresh, and the citrus notes will help project the scent cloud early on. As it dries down the vanilla and tonka really take over and provide a creamy, buttery sweetness that softens that earthy iris into a powdery one. At this point it lays a little closer to the skin. I'll have to report back on the performance after a few full wearings. To me, this is very much a unisex fragrance. Don't let the packaging or gender voting deter you. I think it only has more feminine votes because of the marketing. A confident, well dressed man, can easily rock this. If you like iris fragrances like Valentino Uomo Intense or the Dior Homme line, you should definitely check this one out.

I don’t know what in the Harry Potter they did here but it’s absolutely phenomenal. It’s zesty, it’s feisty, it’s fiery, it exudes confidence. This is by nooo means a cold, earthy, rooty dry iris frag - it’s warm, waxy, a touch spicy/tingly creamy pillow-like semi-sweet vanillic lipstick iris. Oufff this is such a tease- it’s not loud but it definitely knows how to flirt with one senses 😜. It’s giving me naughty and mysterious vibes....if a smooth operator was a fragrance this would be it😏. Only a few of my fragrances can actually make me into my alter ego and this is one of them. Shout out to Joani_Cheddar review; it’s sassy and classy! Boyyy this is deadlyyy. Absolutely most definitely backup bottle and blind buy approved!

Abso-freakin-lutely AMAZING! I've been looking for my holy grail lipstick/makeup fragrance, I thought I had found it in Chanel's Misia but I am anosmic to that one (I am selling my bottle by the way, message me!). This one is stronger, sweeter, lipsticky/waxy iris. Dream come true for me. I only have a 10ml for now, purchased from Scents Angel (authentic and insanely good prices). Likely will get a full bottle soon. Edit: Instead of getting the full bottle, I purchased another 10ml instead. Should last me a lifetime lol. This is a potent extrait. Choked myself out with 5 sprays today!

Pleasantly surprised. Never was a fan of some lipsticks Iris I’ve smelled until I came across this one. 2ml sample from Scent Split....strong performer for those first 5 minutes then it starts to settle perfectly. Rather beast mode with great longevity. Didn’t know much about this line until Gabby Loves Perfumes reviewed it. If you want to add a beautiful vintage, classy Iris...this is it. Totally unisex!

My favorite from the line. I was afraid this was going to be too feminine leaning but to my surprise, this is perfectly unisex. Spicy lipsticky iris, reminds me exactly of big red gum. Last 10+ hrs and projects heavily. If you love iris, cinnamon (not listed but the black pepper mixed with tonka and amber give it that vibe), and want a long lasting quality fragrance, then look no further. 9.2/10

Absolute masterpiece, 10/10. Whist most of the fragrances from the house might not have been my cup of tea, this one is absolutely irresistible! So balanced, captivating and unique, very feminine! Lemon note only lasts for a few minutes, after that it opens up into the most gorgeous lipsticky powder iris! I can't get enough of it! Love, love, love!!!!

Fucking spectacular. This opens up very makeup bag. The whole wear is very makeupy but the opening is the most intense. I havent smelled lipstick on from MMM in many years but this reminds me of that but, a niche version. Some people are not gonna like the makeup scent but, for those that do your gonna like this.

wow, wow, WOW! If you're a vintage lipstick, waxy, iris fan as I am then this is a necessity. It's almost candy like but the right amount of powdery dry down. So easy to wear, so easy to layer with or simply rock solo. Leaves the most intoxicating scent bubble that lasts several hours! A BIG love!

Smells like lipstick, for me its really unique fragrance. However, despite of high concentration (around %30 essance) it doesn't lasts on my skin more than 5 hours, sillage is strong in a first 3 hours, then it fades quickly. Longevity: 6/10 Sillage: 7/10 Scent: 9/10 Price: 5/10 Total: 6.75/10

I am in love with this fragrance. Purchased a 5ml from scents angel and will be purchasing a full bottle asap. Classy, sexy, and grown. If you enjoy lipstick/makeupy fragrances then this to me is a must have in your collection.

Brilliant combo of lipstick iris with bergamot and subtle candied lemon. I find this one to be stunningly pretty and can’t get enough of it! It feels unique among my iris scents. Great longevity and moderate projection.

It’s like a lipstick scent with nice waxy and powdery nuances as well as some sweet berries (?) and beautiful musky base. I love that it smells super feminine and sexy. ig: scent.guide

Candied lemon and vintage lipstick vibes right out of the gate. Then it melts into this gorgeous powdery vanilla iris. If you love iris, this is easily one of the best in my opinion!

I own a bottle that I got on a good price and I used the perfume 3-4 times over different seasons, it’s a “like very much” but not a “love”. It has indeed this playful makeup Iris and baroque vibe in general, but there is a sweet accord that is identical to several designer fragrances and it taking the scent down a notch for me, it’s the kind of intense sweetness that gets too much at moments. The fragrance smells really nice, performance is over12 hours on 3 sprays, where I can smell the scent almost non-stop! 👍 so for the price, you get a lot of experience. Just don’t let the hype in the reviews trick you into blind buying it, it’s pricy and not as ground breaking as it sounds and it has this exotic hard to find charm. I say this and I actually like the scent and am glad I got it.

Holy PLAY-DOH!!! It smells just like it... It's a nice scent, not as good as Lipstick On IMO, but it IS the most similar to LO that I have tried thus far. At first it smells like a lemon hard candy, like one of those old fashioned ones with the powdered sugar on the outside. As it dries down it smells more lipstick-y and waxy. The full presentation (bottle and box) of this product is on point. This fragrance is pretty beast mode and lasts all day on me.

Classy, well blended, old-fashioned iris. Smells like make up from the 80s but soffisticated. It starts smelling of orris root but dries down smelling of iris and a pinch of vanilla. Slightly powdery. Delicate, mature.

I received a generous sample decant of "Balle Rouge" with a recent full bottle purchase of VCA "Orchid Leather." I am always grateful and appreciative when niche sellers include lovely samples along with my purchases. I had a similar, if not identical reaction to Balle Rouge as any reaction I've had in the past when exploring iris-centric fragrances. I'm beyond convinced iris as a main perfume note simply does not resonate with me. Iris is just not a perfume note I enjoy. Dusty, powdery, iris fragrance. The fragrance smells dated. Most iris perfumes (sometimes violet, not violet leaf) evoke childhood memories of rooting through my mother's top dresser drawer. I loved my mother. But I do not wish to smell old, dated, dusty, stuffy and like expired unused make up. IYKYK Please forgive me if I offend anyone, as it is not my intention to do so.

I love the sweet candied lemon opening. This is a beautiful lipstick iris with vanilla. However it ended up being a little too powdery for my taste. Still a great fragrance if you love vanilla and powdery scents. The fresh lemon candy in the opening doesn’t last.

There is something cherry like that disturbs me. The notes are not very nicely combined. I believe that are much better fragrances out there with iris/vanilla lipstick vibes. Not worth the €260 full prize.

I'm in my iris era and I'm okay with it. Its perfumes are also a lot easier to find and wear than violets-since violets are a more challenging note to do. Originally, I was on a quest for violets, but I've discovered iris is the one that really does it for me. Here, we have that lovely, waxy and powdery facet from the iris, its lipstick, powder, vintage smelling yet also relevant and modern in its approach. I detect a cherry note here and I'm loving the combo of iris and cherry here along with vanilla. I usually don't care for cherry, but it makes so much sense here, I'm here for it! The blending on this fragrance is MARVELOUS! I can smell every single note here and they al work harmoniously, beautifully together. What a treat this is! Definitely FBW for me. It's the traditional iris we love, but she's taken into a different direction with the amber and I have no idea where that cherry is coming from.

I was intrigued by this fragrance....because of the descriptions on perfume seller websites. I knew it would lean feminine but I was hoping it'd be (slightly?) unisex (maybe with an added schpritz of an oud) because of the (juicy) cherry ( + almond + amber + vanilla + musk) notes. So....for all the gentlemen out here who are wondering as I was....Yikes! If ever there was a feminine perfume....it's *Balle Rouge*. A (woman/nurse) friend has a bottle and I sniffed it. **Lemon + Lipstick** Real LEMON + Real LIPSTICK. I'm not sure I can decern the flower as Iris but....of course, there's flowers in there. Please...don't misunderstand me....I'm not saying I didn't like it. In fact....I liked it...alot but....in no-way-shape-or-form can I imagine wearing it....ever. This one is for the ladies....100%....and very kissable.

My #1 top IRIS draft pick of 2025. Omg. What an effing masterpiece. The longer I own it the more I become obsessed with it. Fresh and bright fruity opening from the lemon, but then it turns into the most delectable iris and vanilla. The longevity is insane. I can wear this to work and get a gorgeous scent trail all day. If you love iris and violets I think you'll enjoy this. I love iris. Some of my favorite iris perfumes are this one... obviously, Van Cleef Bois D'Iris, CL Loubirouge, LVEB Iris Absolu, Les Bras De Morphee, Crd Delphinus, Shalimar L'Essence, Givenchy Nude Velvet, and Black Tie 💜💜💜💜💜

Sexy and seductive are the two words that come to mind when I smell this fragrance. It’s beautiful. I’m on a lipstick and iris kick at the moment, I love a lipstick note and in here it’s done very well. I’ve sadly never got to try the infamous lipstick on by MM so I can’t say they are similar but all I know is Balle Rouge is a vixen not to be played with. FB worthy for me and anyone who loves lipstick and iris I believe would love this as well. I’ve only worn it twice but I got good longevity from it and moderate projection.

This smells really good. Like a mixture of Lolita Lempicka Sweet with Dior Homme edt. A pretty good , sweet slightly Gourmand scent. The Iris,Cedar, Amber, Lemon,Musk and even Patchouli notes are done quite well. Sweet lipstick scent. Though i have to admit, it's a light lipstick note. That's why it says Dior Homme edt. But does it remind me of trouble? Not really. Lol If you had a more intensified Cedar and added Black Pepper on top of the existing notes then we have trouble. This is more flirty and playful.

Im writing this review as I am smelling this for the first time today. I got it as a sample scent from Edulge after purchasing Celeste from Giardini di Toscana ( not that you needed to know that lol), The opening is a beautiful candied citrus ( like lemon Sherbet candy), it blends well with the sweet powderiness of the iris and rose and you get hints of warmness from the vanilla and tonka in between. This scent is magical. Now .... all I have to do is save £215 to get the full bottle :)

I really wanted to like this but all I can smell is bitter lemon with a very faint lipstick. But mostly I get the bitter lemon. Edit- I didnt scrub it off so I could try to like it. The dry down would be so good if I couldn't smell the lemon in the background 😩 I'm really glad I just got a sample. I thought this would be the one, but as it turns out the one is going to be Tobacco Flirting with Vanilla!!! What a surprise to me!!!

I’m on a lipstick and iris kick too and I have to say the amber togheter with the iris and the tonka in the base are maybe the reason why I didn't like it so much. I love Iris in Dior Homme intense much more. Silver Iris from Atelier Colognes is also stunning. I would give overall a 7,5/10 for this Perfume. The long lasting performance and the packaging are the hit.

Balle Rouge is too on-the-nose lipstick, for me. The initial promising blast of candied fruitiness gives way to a chalky and synthetic iris and vanilla scent that smells like chlorine on my skin. It smells like a mid-range lipstick rather than something luxurious, and I think this isn't blended that well. It's worth a sample but certainly not blind-buy safe.

candied lemon opening that dries down to a powdery lipstick iris and non-gourmand vanilla with hints of pink pepper. very smooth and well blended. i’ve been on a huge iris kick and this is 100% worth the sample.

This was a blind buy for me and it is absolutely amazing...signature scent worthy to me for sure.

Best lipstick scent. Great bottle design and very long lasting
