Messi Elixir – First Impressions Review Before I get into this review, I want to make something clear: I’m not reviewing this because of the name on the bottle. I’m not a soccer fan, so I’m not caught up in the Messi vs. Ronaldo debates or any of the hype surrounding that. I’m a fragrance enthusiast and collector. I love fragrances. I love perfumes, I love colognes, and I genuinely enjoy trying new scents. I don’t have an agenda against any brand or fragrance. If a fragrance is good, I’m going to tell you it’s good. If it’s great, I’ll tell you it’s great. But if it disappoints me, I’m also going to be honest about my experience. I was at Ulta testing out some fragrances, and I was actually about to spray Bleu de Chanel when I came across Messi Elixir. The opening immediately grabbed my attention. This opening was the reason I got excited about this fragrance. That bright citrus and fresh mint combination was captivating. It was clean, vibrant, and refreshing. It had that “wow” factor that makes you stop and think, “Hold on, this could actually be something special.” I liked that opening so much that I went heavy with the sprays. I probably sprayed this 12 to 15 times, maybe even more. I hit my wrists, the backs of my arms, the back of my neck, and my shirt because I wanted to really experience the fragrance and see how it developed throughout the day. Unfortunately, that excitement didn’t last. About 10–15 minutes in, as the fragrance started to dry down, it completely lost what made the opening so interesting. Instead of evolving into something deeper, more unique, or more memorable, it turned into a fairly generic blue fragrance with a touch of sweetness. The dry down was the biggest disappointment for me. It became somewhat synthetic smelling, flat, and honestly just didn’t do much. It reminded me of many other blue fragrances that are easy to wear but don’t really bring anything new or exciting to the table. And that’s what bothered me the most—the opening made me think there was something special coming. It gave me expectations that the dry down just couldn’t deliver on. I kept waiting for that next evolution, but it never came. It became a fragrance I didn’t really want to keep smelling, and I honestly found myself wishing I could just wash it off. Now, the comparison to Le Male Elixir is something I really don’t understand. I know some people bring up that comparison because of certain notes like mint and a warm amber-vanilla sweetness, but having a couple of similar notes does not mean two fragrances smell alike. To my nose, these are completely different fragrances. Le Male Elixir has a rich, dense, sweet, almost luxurious character with a very distinct personality. Messi Elixir never gave me that experience. The DNA, the feeling, and the overall presence are just not the same. If you’re buying Messi Elixir expecting something close to Le Male Elixir, I think you might be disappointed. At the end of the day, this is just my personal experience. Fragrance is subjective, and if you love this one, that’s great. Wear what makes you happy. But for me, Messi Elixir had an amazing opening that pulled me in, followed by a dry down that left me completely underwhelmed. A fantastic first impression... but unfortunately, not a fragrance that delivered for me.

Messi Elixir to me is like an Eros clone with a similar woody mint, amber, and vanilla smell. Reminds me of English laundry’s Oxford Bleu with better strength and performance. I prefer Messi Platinum over all the other releases in his whole entire lineup. These people trolling Messi fragrances with false comparisons and reviews needs to stop. You’re just not funny, go to Reddit with the unfunny attempts at humor.

I got it as gratis at Ulta, so I got it for free. I don't know who the guy is that made this or anything about him. But it's an enjoyable fragrance, it's not bad but not anything special, either. I personally wouldn't go out of my way to buy it, but I do like it enough to wear it since I have it.

A very solid Le male elixir clone at a terrible MSRP. If this lands under $50, it’s a really nice budget offering on a really popular DNA. To my nose, off paper, it’s very close to Le Male Elixir. Lacking the tobacco of Le Male, but featuring the same slightly honeyed vanilla. Definitely way better than I expected from a Messi fragrance, but not original in any capacity if you care about that.

Messi Elixir = Invictus Parfum Rabanne; I tested them side-by-side on paper strips and on my skin. I also had several people smell both fragrances without telling them they were two different scents, and my friends always asked me why I was having them smell the same fragrance twice. LOL! I have nothing more to say. rate: 7.5/10
