Cay

Had the opportunity to visit the store on the weekend and tried this fragrance (among a few others). First whiff was straight out of the bottle..and I went WOW. It was beautiful, subtle but still made it's presence felt. I then sprayed it on my skin and it was even more amazing. The dry down was so good - the tobacco and the musk really shine through. If you like Tobacco based fragrances - then you should try this! I kept getting whiffs for the next few hours - just loved it.

Thank you Metascent !! I was one of the lucky winners of the recent Discovery Set Giveaway. Shipping was incredibly fast and came with a nice handwritten personal note. So far I have tried all 4 of the Men's Scents, as well as Cay and Chandra from the Purity Collection. I have to say it's funny but all 6 of the scents when first sprayed do have a pretty antiseptic or cleaning product type of smell, it does only last 3-5 minutes and then turn into very nice scents for the rest of the duration. Both Cay and Outlaw co-incidently smell almost exactly like Chloraseptic throat spray here in the US at least, but really fades away fast and isn't bad enough where I would not want to own these for all the joy that comes afterward. Considering many scents I have tried have a 30-60 minute "top-note" that I can't get past, these are definitely worth it. Out of the Men's Collection, Outlaw was my favorite even though I am typically not a huge fan of Vetiver, it has a really nice smoky note (possibly due to the broom oil) that really highlights the good parts of Vetiver rather than just the dry grassy version like Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver and Roja Dove's Vetiver. Cay however instantly became my favorite ! I think I got lucky that I went in that order, because Cay and Outlaw I would say are almost 90% similar. Where Outlaw is a really nice scent and had a great smokey balance of Vetiver and a touch of Leather, Cay is REALLY nicely balanced with some oud, leather, maybe a touch of tobacco, sandalwood, and is just a touch sweeter (I believe it has some labdanum in the base) which really just makes it a beautiful very well rounded and seemingly masculine scent. If it helps at all to relate it to something more people might understand, I would say this is like taking the best part of Tom Ford's Oud Wood (that silky, slightly sweet smoothness) and mixing it with Tauer's L'air du Desert Morrocain (for the smoky and spicy beauty), almost like an Au Couere du Desert Australia edition if you will. I'm sure it could work for the right women and would probably change quite a bit with different skin chemistry. My only real complaint is that after being so happy with the scents and going on their website to order 1 or 2 full bottles, shipping to the US from Australia was $75 !! I really hope the find a way around that one day, granted I know they are a new company and I'm sure have a million things to figure out... Thanks for reading ! And again Thank You Metascents !
