By Invitation

I fell down a heck of a rabbit hole to suddenly find this luscious fragrance. I am extremely picky about fruity and floral fragrances so I often don't even bother testing them. Every couple of decades the perfect floral falls in my lap, either a free gift with purchase, some random spritz in a store, and it's never what I would have otherwise picked up. While making room for some new perfumes after parting with a bunch of vintages I found a tiny old sample vial on card in the back of a drawer. It was Marc Jacobs Decadence. I'd never even tested it, probably assuming another designer floral wasn't worth risking a migraine that day. Spritzed it on a tester strip and was mesmerized! Started shopping for it, and of course, discontinued! I looked up the profile here and before I knew it I was shopping for By Invitation instead. Bought the large bottle as a tester because I took note that the cap wouldn't be long for this world anyway. Now I feel like I need to grab a couple more as this is exactly the kind of warm, sweet, bright but not cloying feminine fragrance that always disappears before its due. I love my modern and exotic fragrances, but it feels nice to find a pretty fruity floral once a decade or so!

So I purchased both style bottles as I managed to find the discontinued old style bottle in store, it's a pretty bottle but man they're soo cheaply made, I've only had it for a week and it's already broken and now I have to re bottle it anyway the fragrance itself is gorgeous! Both bottle designs for By Invitation do smell similar but there are definite differences, i would say they're like flankers of each other, the old style bottles have more sweetness, character and depth, the praline and woods are more prominent and there is a an oud like tone that comes through, there is no patchouli listed in the notes but I smell a slight minty patchouli here, anyway I do love this older formula more. The new bottles are more powdery and bright with more emphasis on the citrus notes, the sweetness is dialed down by a touch and with less praline and woods, i feel like they have made the new formula in the new bottles more crowd pleasing However they're both lovely and i enjoy wearing both

THIS is AMAZING! Truly unreal. I cannot belive it is a celebrity scent. Just for reference, I have two signatures scents that are Chloe New and Stella and Stella Rose Intense. This in my opinion is in the same vein as Stella Intense. It does not actually smell like a dupe or anything, but throughout the drydown, I get an aroma that is similar to the drydown of my precious Stella. Since I am not great with identifying notes or describing them yet, I do not know what notes are to blame for this but this is now one of my favorites. On my skin it smells completely different (fruity and fresh) in the beginning than it does during drydown. This feels magical to me. I put this on last night before bed and it is 11 am almost next day and I can STILL smell it. Best purchase ever. Blind purchase at that! LOVE. This is seriously THE ONE. The one I have been searching for all my life. In same vein as Lovely and Narcisco Rodriguez for Her BUT WAY BETTER. Just amazing for a celeb scent.

By Invitation, I knew I was going to like you when I first sprayed you on my skin. This fragrance is juicy fruity in the best kind of way. Raspberries, cherries, strawberries and bergamot are bouncing all over the place in this perfume. I smell them all throughout the projection of this bottle of juice. The rose and jasmine notes are a beautiful wonderland of springy goodness. The praline, sandalwood, and musky vanilla in the base notes smell absolutely yummy. By Invitation smells strikingly similar to Valentino’s Born in Roma. There are some slight differences but they smell a lot alike. It also reminds me of Reb’l Fleur but Reb’l Fleur is much more boozy fruity than this one. By Invitation is a very pretty, sexy, feminine and flirty fragrance. I love the way it smells. I love the many compliments I get while wearing it and I love how I feel when I put it on. It has great sillage, projection and longjevity and is better suited for the spring, summer and autumn months.

I really can understand this comparison to Decadence; Here you will find the same combination of sour, ripe and sweet, but... although the aroma here is very sour berries and even more sour ripe citrus fruits (that become such a "bitter, little fermented" drought) , while in Decadence that effect comes from a combination of dry papyros, plum and vetiver. In both scents, that dry/bitterness is immersed in an extremely polarizing sweetness. Decadence with heavy sugar plum jam, but Invitation with jammy rose and praline. The drying of this is very citrusy, slightly woody, not green at all, yet sweet and very intense too. All in all all , to my( ! ) nose this is very pleasant and quite interesting scent, I really enjoy this now in hot summer ...but still I think, this can be very opinion-sharing scent too! Do you need Decadence if you have this? Absolutely!! ('You might like it) Do you need this if you already have Decadence?. for fun, definitely yes!

This perfume opens with a realistic fruity blast that is kept from being sickeningly sweet with the addition of Italian lemon giving a tiny touch of citrus, and then swiftly morphs into a blend of spicy peony, praline and sandalwood. If the lily of the valley is there it's playing a supportive roll, maybe giving a hint of fresh creaminess to it all. The dry down. Oh my god it's delicious! Tons of vanilla soaked sandalwood with a bit of patchouli giving it depth. Can you tell if I like it yet? :) I don't now how they were able to pack so much punchy personality into this, and yet keep it sheer enough for daytime. Sillage moderate with a single spray. I can see my self wearing this day or night and in every season. It's classy, it's quirky.This scent has universal use. Adding this to my top shelf now! :D

Found this at SDM today on the $19.99 shelf. About 4 hours ago I sprayed the tester and grabbed a bottle - I like it. I think. Not opened it yet.... There's something about it that reminds me of something I don't like - another fragrance I think I have and don't use - so until I figure that out I'm fence sitting. I may return it but not likely the more I wear it the more I like it It's good. It's still pretty strong on the back of my hand and that doesn't happen often. I'm getting lovely whiffs from time to time but when I smell it directly it's not as nice. I'll update when I've decided. Longevity is amazing. - Lasts a good long while with one spray!!

Got this sample for free and whoahhh was I surprised. I didn’t even know Bublé had fragrances! This perfectly fits with his music and classy style. I’m loving it as lately I’m leaning towards more mature scents. It’s woodsy and sweet, but not too sweet. Also, I’ve been on the look out for scents that actually last like they used to make! And this one actually lasts! I remember back in the day scents were made to project and last. Let’s get back to that !

This was a blind buy that I purchased a few weeks ago. I decided to be daring and wear it to work yesterday. I absolutely loved it. It was mature, but not in an elderly way. In my nose, it smelled earthy--with ripe, grilled pineapples and amber. I can see myself reaching for this way too often because of its sweet complexity. By Invitation is a nice fragrance to pick up, if you're looking for something inexpensive and unique to add to your collection.

This fragrance starts off as Red Pearl (peppery passionfruity praline on me) and dries down to MJ Decadence without as much plummy powdery note. It is a high quality bargain. I wear this as my day Decandence and save the $200 real one for nights out. I get compliments from men and women constantly on this it's just a lil embarrassing to say I have Buble's fragrance on. I have the 30ml purse spray and just bought a backup bottle as it's that good.

I got a couple of sample vials from one of my orders last winter. I'm not really into celebrity fragrances but I had to try it. I fell in love with its sweet smell and the initial blast of red berries. Its dry down is quite pleasant. Longevity and sillage are both above average on me. It is a feminine fragrance as far as I'm concern, not masculine at all. I purchased a FB after I've used up my samples.

I sampled Michael bubles fragrances in store and I was initially turned off, just be careful in stores the testers are old and have gone bad because I smelt the difference when a friend of mine gave me one of Michael bubles fragrances as a gift for Christmas, obviously a new bottle and now I am absolutely obsessed with them and have purchased more bottles since.

This reminds me so much of Casmir by Chopard, which I had and cherished many years ago until the bottle was smashed. I could only try to remember how rich and exotic the delicious sweet notes were until this surprise discovery. I am surprised by how good it is for the price, and a little spray is all that's needed.

My stepdaughter's friend wore this in my house today; I went into the front room and was met with the most beautiful powdery rose, with a soft citrus zing and white petal musk. I was shocked when she told me it was this; how on earth can such a cheap perfume be so lovely with great sillage?! Bargain.

By Invitation is a female ambroxan-lover's dream. Sweet fruity vanilla amber-ambroxan. Bright, very pretty, and a compliment getter. Perfect for late spring into summer. Works well with coconut oil for summer.

Just received this Fragrance by Michael!!. i LOVE IT.. dont need much on as its strong, if your a Michael fan you will not be disappointed. highly recommend! Gorgeous bottle, looks so classy

I found this one for $8 at my local Ross. I bought it hoping it would be similar to my discontinued (almost out) MJ Decadence. I'm very happy I picked it up!

I bought some samples they eBay of this perfume and love it. It’s not too powerful and not too light. One of my new favorites!

this is Decadence minus the pickle note ---> more feminine Decadence. same strong though..good silage and longevity.

I just smelled this tonight at at local store. I was able to spray it from a large sample bottle. My grown daughter was with me, and she immediately said it smelled good. She's sort of particular about scents, so I'm amazed we both liked it. I thought this had good projection, and it seemed to wear a long time on my perfume eating skin. It's a decent price for the 1.7 ounce EDP, so I'm hoping I might get it for Mother's Day ;) My daughter did get me this for Mother's Day, along with treating me to a nice steak dinner. After wearing this a couple days, I can officially say "it's amazing"! I just love how this develops, and it's sweet without being too sweet, and it's slightly woody without being too woody(I have trouble with some woody perfumes). It's well blended, and I prefer it over some of my Dior's and Chanel. It wears a long time too, which isn't something I can say often. The bottle looks pretty sitting out too. It's my new favorite, and definitely in my top ten. I don't find this to be a lot like La Vie est Belle, and I like this a lot better than LVEB, and I think it wears better than LVEB. I also have Marc Jacobs' Decadence, and to me, they aren't the same.

I had to get samples of this when I read the good reviews and the notes, I decided to give it a try. This is not your “celebrity-cheap-department store perfume”. This is actually a very pretty scent and thoughtful work. The opening is very sophisticated, playful, warm and sweet. Fruity as well, like sour but not artificial. Keeps you sniffing for more and more. Great projection, sillage and longevity surprisingly, could smell the base notes in the morning when I sprayed a little bit around 11pm. The first time I gave it a try I got the pralines at dry-down. But more like “high-quality Swiss” type of pralines, like raspberry and chocolate. A bit nutty as well. The second time I gave it a try, I got the pralines upon the first sprays, with the blend of florals and fruits, then vanilla. When I don’t smell the pralines anymore — ate them ;) — I definitely get a beautiful bouquet of florals and berries. A bit of sandalwood to add depth. Nothing loud nor extra-gourmand nor childish, very adult, sexy and indeed, inviting... _____ Projection, sillage, longevity : 9/10 Originality, presentation : 7.5/10 Quality, value : 10/10 9/10

Two words: GROWN & SEXY!! My mother had a sample of this she let me smell and this scent was stuck in my head ever since. I got a 1 oz bottle for $23 on ebay. Upon arrival, i noticed the metal round piece on the bottle, which i think is lovely. It definitely compliments the fragrance and gives it a more high end designer fragrance look and feel. Upon first spray, i get praline, wood notes and red berries. Those three notes pretty much carry out through the remainder of the fragrance with a hint of rose and bergamot in the dry down. I can't detect any of the of the other notes listed. This fragrance has a decent projection. About 2 feet of sillage and a good 5 hours on my skin. It's definitely worth the money. This fragrance could be pulled of by anyone, but i picture a 37-40 year old woman, who is single, runs her own business,no husband, no kids and travels around the world every 3 months, when wearing this fragrance. It screams sexy, but very sophisticated with a particular taste in men. I highly recommend people give this a try. Scent: 8/10 Packaging: 10/10 Performance: 7/10

I actually laughed when I saw this, sitting at the checkout at superdrug. Michael Buble has a fragrance?! Twice I avoided the tester, despite it be on an offer of £10. Today when I went in though, I'd gone perfume free and thought, what the hell! 1 spray on each elbow. The first blast is pretty strong. Citrusy chocolate and alcohol. So I walked around the shop for a while, hoping the alcohol smell would leave me. But it stayed so I left without it. However, by time I'd got home, it had me thinking, what a pleasent surprise this is! It had started to morph into a really nice, not too sweet, musky praline with a little vanilla and Sandalwood.I get no florals or citrus in the dry down. 9 hours later and that is how it has stayed. Reminds me of CH GG Velvet Fatal. Has definitely got staying power and projection is pretty good too. If it's still on sale, I will definitely pick up a bottle or 2 :)

I'M TORN ______________________________________________________ I came across Michael Buble's 'BY INVITATION' late December during a meeting. A colleague of mine had it on and it was very sweet and very pleasant. Several days later another colleague (from another department) wore it and it smelled completely different. It hat a certain freshness and fruitiness about it. It was quite pleasant and dynamic. Today I had the opportunity to try it on. On my skin it resembles 'La Petite Robe Noir Intense' and it reminds me a lot of Lancome's 'La Vie est belle' -> 2 scents I can truly live without. Although I don't like how it smells on my skin, I cannot be too harsh to it, because it smells very pleasant on certain people around me - in a way I'm torn... Longevity: - 3/10 Sillage: - 6/10 All in all: 3 out of 10 points

how on earth you could compare this to LVEB and Decandance, I have no idea but both smell completely different to me and I have them all! Decandance, I can smell that a mile away, very impressive dark scent..ie night, most probably /autumn winter scent and both smell oh so ....go smell them when it's this weather ...the Buble smell could most prob hang out a bit of the summer time and it came out in Australia during the spring so work that one out...it's still not a bad fragrance considering, but i expect it to get thinner in the smell soonish as all those tend to get toned down towards the masses

La Nuit Tresor DNA for sure. I have had the original LNT for years, it’s one of my absolute favourite fragrances and when first testing By Invitation it came straight to mind. BI is nowhere near as intoxicating, well blended or potent but still does an excellent job. I ended up getting the 100ml bottle whilst owning LNT. Longevity is about 8 hours and projection decent. Really like the By Invitation line, have had Rose Gold and Passion from it, but this by far is the most long lasting. 💛🌹🍨🤍

I found this for 8dls at Burlington and could not pass it up since I’ve read it is a dupe of decadence. Bottle is cheap but I could not expect much more for the price. This really is a great dupe for Marc Jacobs Decadence. It is also surprisingly strong as well. I tested it on my arm and showered and I could still smell it hours later. If you’re out of luck getting a bottle of decadence because it’s been discontinued this is a great dupe!

Got gifted this for xmas and thought I did not like it at first - itd not really something I would buy.But after wearing it a few days I might keep it as I own nothing like this. Its cheep sickly sweet to open and half berries half praline. Nothing else to me. No floral no bergamot. Then starts to get woodsy and vanilla. I enjoy the drydown most - the sweet chills tfo and the warm sandalwood comes to play for 8-10 hours. ⛤⛤⛤

Sweet goey boozy patchouli and some woodsy base If you like the discontinued Queen Latifah in the red bottle you are going to love this This is a perfect scent for winter nights , smells very festive and even upscale. Don’t let the fact that it’s a celebrity fragrance fool you , this one doesn’t smell cheap at all Projection and lasting power are unbelievable , 10 + hours

It's almost like a mulberry and sandalwood to my nose. I really like this! Much better than I thought it would be for a celeb fragrance. Really good longevity so far too. Perfect for cold weather. Definitely worth a blind buy if ur searching for a decent cheapie. Also found it layers beautifully 😍 with cheriosa 40 SDJ

A great quality fragrance. Falls in the spicy woody category. Very well made ofcourse. I do smell a lot of amber although it's not listed in the notes. Smells like amber mystique when that one dries down. To me this could easily be the edt or eau fresh of that one.👍👍

I did not like it smelling it from the bottle. On my skin it was completely different and I really like it! Very woody and warm on the skin, very nice!

Very sweet and fruity. When dry the woods can be a tad bitter. Some vanilla and an amber vibe. This one would be great for summer!

WOW BEAUTIFUL, really blown away

My sister is decluttering some of her perfume collection and gave me a bottle of By Invitation. The first time I sprayed it, I was like "nooo thank you" and put it in the Goodwill pile. Right before I went to Goodwill, I thought what the heck, I will just try it again but this time with 2 sprays. The opening is so strong and smells like a bad alcoholic drink. But then....magic! After about 10 minutes, this transforms into Marc Jacobs Decadence! On my skin, it is deep sweet plum and a spicy sandalwood. It is so deep, fruity, woody and delicious! (Somehow this works on me, where Decadence felt like it was too much for me to handle.) Most definitely a Fall/Winter fragrance with incredible longevity! I cannot stop smelling my arm where I sprayed it. I am keeping it and since it only takes a well placed spray or 2, this will last me a very long time! This is NOT a safe blind buy.

received a free sample of this, and had never heard of it, but i try everything. it's a standard frutchouli perfume. berries, praline and a bit of patchouli, even if it's not listed. definitely fruity and sweet. i have smelled this before on the streets or something like it. not my thing but can see how this would be popular. it reminds me of angel a bit but with less chocolate i think, though it's been awhile since i wore angel.

I want to hate this so I can validate my general belief system that celebrity fragrances are a cheap and awful cash grab. But I can't. I love this scent. It's not linear like many cheapies. It develops and opens up in a really gorgeous way. It is loud though. 2 sprays tops!! Has big headache inducing potential. With that said, I don't love gourmands but this i do feel is a dessert perfume. It is sweet and sexy without being sugary, more creamy and somewhat dark. I'm yet to try Marc Jacobs Decadence but I would describe this fragrance as decadent. It doesn't come and go, it will be present with every single breath you take so be wise. I wish all fragrances had this much beast in terms of sillage projection and longevity. Excellent for dates. Not my type of fragrance at all, but this one gives me a bit of permission to remember what perfumes are meant to do: give pleasure. Something I'm sure Michael out of all men has some idea about.

So masculine! Really hate it. Yes, there's some sweet notes here from the praline and vanilla but we are no where near La Vie Est Belle Florale territory. On my skin in particular it opens sweet then goes immediately spicy--it's all sandalwood and herbs on me, like I broke into my husband's cologne. But I will give the perfume this: I sprayed at 7am and it tortured me all day. A full 12 hrs. So good longevity! Update: Tried it again just to be sure. Still really hate it. It doesn't list patchouli as a note, but I smell something like it that is harsh and horrible.

This is the duplicate version of Lancome La Vie Est Belle. Yes! I tried this one at my local shop. First impression I thought it was LVEB. Later on, it was classy scent and smelled 90% like LVEB but more fruity. The price 90USD (include tax) at my local shop, so I think I will pay more 10-20 dollars for LVEB. It have nice packaging, impressive bottle, nice longevity but I'm so sorry I pay more attention for the scent. So sorry, Michael. I love your music but the fragrance is no.

Revisiting to update my thoughts. I ended up throwing this away. Too overpowering, the scent wears you. There doesn't seem to be any closeness to the skin or chemistry reactions going on. It's just here is the fragrance from morning to evening with every breath you take its the same notes and same intensity. And it's very intense. I hated wearing it knowing I would get a headache. I guess this is what cheap fragrances do!

Some seller just sent me a sample of this dreck with something I ordered. Ghastly reeking mess. Projection into the next county. Horribly sweet gooey glop. And that was just what was coming out of the 1 ml sample; I never sprayed it. I threw it in the kitchen trash can and I can still smell it where it sat for 10 minutes in the living room. Who okays this stuff to be sold?

On paper, this parfume has a masculine touch. I Will try it on my skin later but i see no ressemblance to La vie est belle so far. I Will update. Update. I do not like the opening. Much too strong !! I still have a feeling thaïs perfume is masculine... After 45 Minutes, it Starts to be more wereble. Drydown is sensual and better than the firsts notes.

Michael Buble By Invitation Women’s Perfume EDP: Yikes. Odd, and not good. It’s almost like Hypnotic Poison, heavy sweet/vanilla, but with some sort of cleaner/herb mixed in with a semi-tropical sickness. I disliked it almost immediately after applying. It looks like its no longer being sold, which is unsurprising considering how unpleasant it is.

'By Invitation' is just too strong for this old nose! It smells sticky-sweet mixed with a loud woodiness. It's overwhelming I'm sorry to say. The modernistic bottle, on the other hand,is beautiful.

This is a decadence dupe. Not at first spray but once it settles on the skin it is very close to decadence. Doesn't smell anything like lveb

At first, it is kind of masculine and after, well, a little bit too sweet (praline). Stay power is very good. For dark skin.
