Extreme Night

The small amount of Cypress in my collection has thus far been a real letdown, but EN has been an incredibly enjoyable surprise...two weeks in, and I have enjoyed this far more than CH Sport or Man Wood Essence. I would agree with some others that the name seems odd - this is actually a versatile, signature-worthy fragrance - but I can easily look past that to focus on the juice. My one and only hesitation with EN comes just a couple minutes after first spritz when I am subtly reminded of whatever type of air freshener comes to mind, but some real strength begins to quickly take hold and shape the scent with some pleasing touches of masculinity while still remaining light-ish. Very pleased with the blending, the floral is never loud, and as the Cypress comes to the forefront you can still feel the supporting notes playing a beautiful role...there is almost a cooling feel that takes place which makes the entrance of Tonka and hint of Vanilla such an interesting contrast. I will absolutely reach for this as a late-Spring or Summer option in the evening, sure, but other than that it doesn't "speak" to me as a night-specific wear, at all, EN has plenty of potential for use throughout your calendar. Not a world-class performer, but does possess a stubborn Cypress that sticks around for at least 6 hours on my clothing...my wife loves the freshness of EN and that is after an after-work hug so there's some longevity, there. Will be buying another bottle, love it.

I think that this fragrance has been decently reviewed thus far so I’ll just add a few additional comments. If I had to compare this to something else, it’s like a mix of JPG Le Male and Kenzo Power. Masculine with some nice florals with vanilla - maybe some soft spice of nutmeg and tonka bean. Overall a really nice, clean-fresh smell which is especially interesting for fall days and cool evenings. This does quite poorly in hot/humid conditions. Lastly, the longevity is moderate at 5-6hrs but the projection is always subtle, even from the first 10-15min. If you’re looking for a good date scent that’s light but not an aquatic/citrus aroma, it’s an option for you. I’d give a 5 or 6/10. ***Update after several weeks of wearing it*** This is really nice. I wear this in the evening when it’s cooler. Smells masculine, floral and aromatic. Just my style. 7.5/10

In Toronto, a 40ml popped up for a low price at the local drugstore. What a treat! Opens with sweet florals, and stays pretty linear. Good mix of iris, sandalwood, vanilla and musk which is nice since it doesn't rely too heavily on a tonka base as other fragrances do. Comparing it to others I own, this reminds me quite a bit of Zegna Intenso but more powdery and much better balanced. This would also compete for any occasions I would use Armani Code Colonia for, however, it is not nearly as strong. Rather than lavender and tonka, I will use this iris-vanilla-tonka combo instead for more intimate occasions as this fragrance did not project very far and stayed noticeable on clothes for about 6 hours. On skin, this is very quiet after an hour, nice and powdery throughout. A good purchase for quiet romantic evenings... not very extreme... just really nice.

Beautiful clearness and mystical spiciness gives the strength of this perfume. This scent gives me that experience just like i'm going about loose in a cypress parkland surrounded by flowers. It's quite an erotical scent as well, manly and exciting! One of the best cypress creation ever! Deep and ethereal. Better works in spring or autumn as i noticed. It lasts 6-9 (intensively 4-6) hours on my skin. Great job Mr. Kors!

It was meant for romantic close encounter moments. A dinner out with someone special because of the hint of sweetness it has. Not a bad & good to have scent in my collection.

This fragrance surprised me greatly. I don’t dislike the others in this range but never found them compelling enough to purchase after trying fairly extensively. You’d be forgiven for thinking (as I did) when this opens that Extreme night is just another very crude attempt to try to copy the Dior Homme format. The opening note is a big powdery, leathery blast of orris root/iris (love it when I see the notes after saying orris root as opposed to iris And it’s listed in the notes!) However, as gorgeous and familiar as it is this accord is short lived, dying back almost as quickly as it came on. Then extreme night actually mutates into something unexpected and I think that was the best thing this fragrance could of done to ensure it won’t be forgotten....well by me anyway. Don’t get me wrong it’s still no DH but the remaining low buzz I can smell after eight hours is very close to the skin and very appealing. This fragrance undergoes a series of changes, constantly shifting throughout. You get the softness and sensual nature from vanilla and Tonka without them being overstated and making the name of this fragrance highly appropriate. Then there’s a floral hint, lifting this fragrance but never making it too feminine, although I suspect many women would enjoy and wear. Then there’s an underlying woodiness to the whole affair, grounding it nicely. I’m not sure how much of that was deliberate though. I’m in two minds as to whether this is a complex yet subdued take on the sexy night time fragrance or a mish mash of jumbled ideas and lukewarm concept...either way the end product is the same. Performance is not great longevity wise but a big problem is that extreme night doesn’t project, nor will it ever be a big impact scent, choosing instead to sit quietly on your skin where only the most intimate of guests will get to smell you. Its mostly gone after several hours and despite quite liking it, I couldn’t justify paying top whack but if it was very cheap in a bargain bucket I might have a punt. Probably not though.

My review of this cologne is a wanting to love fragrance but I just cant.Design and smell is the only thing I like about this cologne. Design is a 5/5. Scent is beautiful which I give a 5/5. Value is overpriced for this cologne/frangrance(2/5). Longevity is horrible at only 4 hrs for me which should be lasting 12 hrs(1/5).Overall is this fragrance had more longevity then i would praise this fragrance but i will give it a 3/5 because of scent and design. This is one fragrance I wish I never purchased.

I was expecting something more powerful and heavy, but in reality it's quite a delicate tonka bean perfume, with warm sweetness of vanilla and a hint of cypress. I think it's very safe for both office or dinner event, yet it lacks individuality. Heh, the major problem is that it doesn't match its name. It's neither dark enough for the night, nor extreme enough to scream it out. In rest, it's overall good perfume.

This is a great all-around fragrance but it doesn't last that long for me. The first hour is fantastic! It's a fragrance that stands on its own in terms of smell and uniqueness. I get a mix of maybe YSL La Nuit D'Lomme, Versace Eros and Bleu De Chanel. Either way it smells great but you have to apply again every 4 or 5 hours. If you see it for a good price it's worth it!

Blindbought this a week ago, the scent is not very extreme or any night time fragrance for that matter, it starts off a bit sweet with a musky vibe, similar to Thomas sabo rebel at heart, i do like it because its different, i just wish it was louder and projected more, after an hour it's mostly a skin scent, from there it lasts about 4-8 hours tops.

I bought a used almost full bottle for a very good price, I like the scent as part of my small collection. For me this is a dumb reach. However, women love this!! I've some brilliant scents, yet for some reason this is the one that guarantees compliments! which makes me go "really!!!? this?".

I cannot separate alot of notes in fragrances yet, but this really reminds me of Allure homme sport eau extreme, maybe it's the tonka and pepper notes? They both have something I would describe as a warm spicy creamy smell.

Inoffensive, generic. Leather and a hint of vanilla. Suitable for any occasion. Given to me as a gift; I wouldn't buy it for myself - not because of the scent (it's fine) but the very underwhelming projection and sillage.

This is the Fruit Stripes gum of fragrance. Even smells similar to Fruit Stripes gum and that great smell lasts for a few and then poof!... gone.

This is a bit of a strange one. Fresh without citrus or ‘pine’. The open is strong & messy, smelled directly off skin can be very gross like a “forest” type air freshener. Sillage & scent off of clothes is like fine soap & very very nice. Full drydown ~2hrs is tonka, sandalwood & the orris. Projects 45min, skin scent lasts 4-5hrs more. Ok date scent because of the light projection & sweetness. Not super masculine, I would like this on a woman. Got this & extreme speed in a set extreme cheap & will probably give this away & keep the extreme speed. Could be versatile, scent & performance aren’t my thing.

likeable, can be nauseating though if oversprayed. nice presentation however i think theres much better quality for this pricepoint out there

This is one changeable fragrance. It starts out both sweet and pungent. Fairly quickly the sweetness dies off and an intense peppery note lingers behind. A soft sour note then emerges underneath. Slowly over the course of ten minutes, the sour transforms to a green note which might be the cypress. From that point the scent starts to fade ending up as a soft, comforting vanilla, somewhat like a softer version of the drydown for L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme EDT. Honestly, I don't know quite what to make of this. For one, it is much better when you get indirect wafts floating up to your nose than when you put your nose close to the skin. I personally don't mind that it fades reasonably quickly because I'm a bit of a fickle fragrance wearer anyhow. I don't mind changing fragrance two or three times a day. The main issue I have is that I'm not quite sure how or when best to wear this because it changes so much and so quickly. Honestly, it dries down to a beautiful scent so maybe it's one of those things that you spray on 10-15 minutes before you head out to avoid exposing others to the temporary oddness. I certainly don't hate this. I liked it enough after testing at Kohl's to pick up a discounted bottle a few days later. And the bottle is super gorgeous, too. That always helps.

Scent is wonderful, but just not projects well, and performance is so bad i would expect lot more from this. Try it for a day or two before you buy it!
