Pour Homme Absolu

This has my vote for the most underhyped, underrated and under the radar release of the year. Almost nobody is talking about this and I believe this is possibly the first designer take on the Blue Talisman scent profile and it is an absolute banging one at that! MK Pour Homme Absolu is a very nice upper tier designer release that somehow has received very little hype and attention considering its inspiration. In all honesty MK Pour Homme Absolu doesn’t smell anything like Erba Gold, Absolu Aventus (not even close!), nor is there even much resemblance to the original MK pour homme, which reminds me of Gucci Guilty EDT more than anything. This is a major improvement over the original and for me this flanker is 100% clearly going after that Ex Nihilo Blue Talisman DNA and it is doing so with very high quality ingredients and blending. The note breakdown may be quite different (with no listed pear but I smell it in this!) but that is definitely the vibe going on here. It’s also pretty similar to Bond No. 9 Greenpoint but made more masculine. This is simply some really good juice and you could literally wear this for any occasion much like Blue Talisman. It’s not quite as strong but still performs respectably well and leaves a noticeable sillage. You cannot go wrong here. If you like the Blue Talisman scent profile (think pear scented shower gel) do check out this one or wait until it hits discounters. MK has totally impressed me with this release! And the bottle is a stunning little work of art that would make a great looking addition to any collection. 🍐🧴🚿

THIS IS A SLEPT ON BANGER! An amazing interpretation of the original Black XS DNA from 20 years ago, made with way better aromachemicals, and also modernized with deeper sweetness and a smokier base. Absolutely incredible! The fruity top is part rindy citrus and part non-descript tropical, just like the Black XS pineapple that could also be strawberry that could also be pear (hence the Blue Talisman comparison). The incense in the mid makes the sweetness go deeper and merge with the solid thick woody base. It does have the same earthiness in the base, but here we have cedar, vetiver and akigalawood for that. It also smells way more expensive than the current formulation of black xs, which has a really appalling opening for a few minutes. And performs five times better. Just like Black XS, even though it has a tropical vibe in the opening, it's not ideal for very hot weather, but it's perfect for nights out any season, also great in spring and fall days. Projects strongly for two hours, lasts more than eight on skin. It's a very substantial scent, don't let the opening fool you into overspraying. Is this Blue Talisman on a budget? Not really, it lacks the intense freshness in the opening and the hairspray vibe in the mid. The fruity notes are not distinctly pear-like. It is close to the extrait though after a certain point through the drydown. And it's just as synthetic (in a good way). What a gem! I'm getting it as soon as it drops more in price

Really impressed with this one. The opening is fantastic. If you test on paper this one really sparkles and is addictive. On skin it immediately has more of the woods and has something earthier about it. However this balances out after a little while and you get something that is closer to how it smells off paper. Contentious issue as per the reviews here but I personally DO get Blu Talisman elements from it. I saw someone say it's like a concoction of BT, Absolu Aventus and Invictus. While I don't totally get that, I see where they're coming from. I actually don't really like BT overall; I get an elderly lady sanitary products whiff from it which makes it unpleasant as a whole, despite enjoying some aspects of it. Put simply, this is a really good masculine, citrusy, woody, airy, blue/green-tinged scent. Really versatile, though something about it feels like the perfect scent for a wedding guest. It has that special occasion vibe but is also fun and easy-going enough to be a put together crowd pleaser. Fully recommend giving this one a try, I think most will be surprised by what's on offer here.

I completely disagree some of the other reviews. This scent profile is absolutely stunning. I cant stop smelling my bottle. Fresh lavender, floral, fruity, rose with very subtle woody base notes. I agree with others that the opening is the best part (it’s absolutely incredible) and I find the opening smell lasts a few hours. The later dry down to me holds 60-70% of the openings dna and is still very pleasant but does become slightly more generic. 5hrs of moderate projection before becoming a skin scent, 6-7hrs on clothes. However I received a compliment 9 hours after spraying so maybe I just go completely nose blind. Im completely in love with this already. Everyone’s nose is different, definitely give it a chance and test/smell it for yourself. This might be my favorite freshie in my 40+ bottle collection.

Definitely a good hidden gem release from the brand. The opening is really nice and almost has a "Juicy Fruit" gum type of smell that sort of reminds me of something in line with Blue Talisman but not the same. There is something other than Lemon in the top and if i had to guess what they are not listing it has to be something giving off a pear type of smell. The drydown the lavender, rose, cedar are the stars of the show with some hints of peppermint peaking through still. Projection is slightly above average and longevity does not seem to be a issue at that 7-8 hr range. Solid release from the company. Surprised nobody really talks about it now that its starting to pop up at discounters.

so I've been testing his one throughout June in Istanbul's 25-30 C weather, and it didn't feel cloying or anything, I could easily wear it. But one thing to note is that in hotter weather, you notice more the scent getting "drier" in a sense. Like it starts very juicy with its amazing opening and the more it dries down, the woody and the deeper bases start giving a dry feel to the fragrance while still maintaining the fruity smell, I think this is the biggest difference between other fruity-citrusy fragrances that this gets compared to. But again, it didn't feel cloying to me even with the dryness, but may need more testing for 30+ C weather. I still really love this though

I really like this one! Extremely fresh and fruity in a more mature way than some of the other fruit-forward frags out there. I can't speak to similarity to Blue Talisman, but I can say that it smells very natural, high quality, and has excellent longevity. I find it very unique, at least in my collection, and it's definitely a spring and summer banger! This one is going to get a lot of wear this summer. I wouldn't consider this blind buy safe, but I don't think any frags should be bling bought - not when there are so many decant places out there. I will say my wife likes it a lot too, so there's that lol.

A hidden gem right here. Seriously I couldn't even find a single video on Youtube talking about this. This fragrance has everything I love, a very fruit and citrus heavy opening that is like a tart summer fruit basket. And a clean, woody, aromatic backbone. Citruses go away rather quickly but fruits are there throughout, need to test performance more but seemed pretty great on that aspect aswell. May seem too synthetic to some but I personally have no problems with that. Definitely test this for yourself especially since it's so under the radar and rather cheap.

I tried this in a Belk back in Jan. Got home and realized I loved it. Been waiting to see it discounted and finally snagged one on whatnot for a deal. I absolutely love this fragrance. Very bright fruity opening, and the drydown is like a frothing tropical smoothy. Absolutely a banger for summer.Pear isn’t listed but it’s got to be I there...it’s giving pear heavy to me. Highly slept on and not really talked about one way or another. I am a huge fan of the creaminess of it. Not blind but safe, definitely try in the mall indecent before you get a full bottle.

Amazing. Fresh and fruity done to perfection: in the opening I smell fresh, aromatic and with a touch of sweet green apple, and thats what makes it so addictive to me, and the performance is also above average when compared to other fresh fragrances. Such a slept-on banger. This is much better than the original Michael Kors Pour Homme in my opinion.

I have to assume that the majority of the people rating this haven’t actually smelled it This is a beautiful sweet Citrus fragrance that is fairly unique but does resemble Imagination but sweeter. The first few hours, there is an impressive sillage and i couldn’t stop smelling myself. Like most citrus fragrances it lasts about 6-8 hours

Finally got myself a full bottle of this just as the weather starts warming up. I'm really addicted to this right now, I keep smelling the cap throughout the day. Especially that opening, just simply amazing! A tart summer tropical fruit basket with great performance.

Fresh and fruity but with some kind of creamy-ambery ambroxan-like synthetic in the base. Doesn’t read as light and airy. On the contrary, this scent is strong and deep. It’s kind of giving me high-end fruity bubble gum. I like it. I bought a bottle.

Just brought a full a full bottle and it is good fresh spicy I will give it a full wear in the days to come looking forward to this one I can't believe I have over looked this one and should have got it sooner.

It smells like a tropical cocktail, like a combination of erba gold (opening) and aventus absolu (drydown), definitely a hidden gem!!

This is actually nice... very nice. Also, very safe to wear. I can see this getting tons of compliments, too.

Amazing scent profile, shit performance

Aromatic and woody notes being the top two accords is just not true. It is a complete citrus bomb, even after the dry down. I like it, however, do not spray more than 3-4 times. You will become a walking lemon fragrance cleaning product. It is absurdly strong on my skin not sure if others experience the same thing. Does not cause much nose blindness as well. 7.5/10. Works amazingly on hot days 27-28 degrees+.

When I smelled this on a strip I really liked it but then having it on skin for a day not so much. Kind of smells like a kids bubble bath, it's a bit too bright for a lavender forward fragrance. Saying that it's inoffensive, really not a bad smell. Wait for a big discount if you do buy it though.

A sweet, fruity, candy-like scent. Very wearable and hard to offend anyone with this fragrance. I smell a toned down Lattafa Art of Universe with this one.

Just tried this in the MK store, it opens up like a juicy Absolu Aventus and then the dry down smells like Frangrance DuBois’ Lucius! Really nice scent

It's light and fruity. Definitely more of a warm weather scent. Honestly, it doesn't do much for me.... and it makes me think of some kind of Garnier Fructis hair product. Rating for now: meh

Wow.. calm down pls, its not that classy. Not bad if youre in your 20ties, for thirty and up you might smell like the guy that wanted to go to the diddyparty but wasnt invited.

This smells fantastic! If Blue Talisman, Aventus Absolu, Invictus (in the distant background), and a few other designers had a baby, this would be it. My only qualm is I'm kinda confused about the performance. It has that airiness that Blue Talisman has, where it appears like it's almost gone, but then I'll catch a whiff of sillage. It leaves me wanting more because it smells so awesome. I've tried many spray combos, so it's not nose blindness. Still testing, so I will come back with a final verdict, but I can say this: if you have always wanted to buy Blue Talisman but it's too expensive, pick this up from discounters on the cheap, and you will be in the ballpark for a fraction of the price. This delivers a darker feel, somewhere in between the EDP and the Extrait, but is good in its own right. Call it Blue Talisman with a designer twist!

4/5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐ once it hits discounters. Might be the best MK release for men (women's are superior) in recent memory. Off skin. It's not as bright, but this has more complexity than the original silver bottle. The floral notes give it a rosy 🌹 sweetness that I wasn't expecting. They use a similar molecule in the women's versions. It's classy and seductive but can lean feminine. There are hints of the long discontinued YSL Ultime but without gigner....and perhaps additional woodiness and spice in the dry down. Or Versace Man Eau Fraiche without the star fruit. Personally I'm getting good performance also. Another nice surprise. Wearing it home from a Micheal Kors store - and it's still noticable 6 hours later. Worth sampling on skin 💕

This smells so yummy. It’s lemon. It’s lavender. It’s cedar. It’s almost candy like very refreshing has a little bit of minerality to it but definitely a great daytime could be a dumb reach scent. I think it’s gonna end up at discounters so just wait for it to get there, but if you can get your hands on this, and at a good price now it’s definitely a very nice summer to fall scent that. You can Could you wear it anywhere at the gym ...out and about ...dates ...the office around the house. I think it’s a win for Michael is definitely better than the original.

Plasticky citrus scent. Smells modern, fresh, citrusy, masculine but also boring and kind of cheap. If I really want to be generous to this fragrance I could say it tries to follow the "modern citrus" direction like Imagination/Pacific Chill/Afternoon Swim trend, but it only very approximately manages to emulate the niceness of those scents. If you smelled this, didn't know what it is and someone told you it's like a David Beckham fragrance, I think you would believe them. A pass from me.

I’m gonna give you a secret but please keep it between us! This is phenomenal Sleeper Hidden gem Diamond in the rough Very good freshie, unique (if you count out blue talisman), super long lasting! There was / is (i don’t know if anymore) this green limonade: The Smurfs pear And it immediately reminded me of that, sparkling bright artificial pear scent from when you cracked open a bottle But yeah, it’s a good one if you didn’t already get the idea!

Forget the price. This fragrance is an unknown masterpiece worth recognising. It smells like a magnetic forest that radiates lures you in deeper and deeper. By far the best designer that ever reached my nose (and trust me, I've smelled way too many) and one of my only perfumes that I would pay even double the MSRP for. Safe blindbuy if you are familiar with woody notes, just expect a sweeter take on some of the usuals.

There was a sample of this in the latest issue of "Vanity Fair" magazine, so I smelled it and initially thought, "okay, this may have some potential!" I applied to my forearm and 30 minutes later it was at the lowest possible end on the pedestrian meter. Michael Kors must have used the same playbook that caters to the masses in the cheapest smelling way that Prada used for "Paradigme." An absolu(te) waste of time!

Basically a more mass appealing version of blue talisman, not surprised since the same perfumer Jordi Hernandez made the og version of Michael Kors and probably this one even though its not listed. Its 80% similar to blue talisman but less of that astringent musky smell BT has. I actually like this one more then BT and this is half the price. If this hits discounters this is a steal. Women seem to love it.

Definitely can tell this one was inspired by Kajals Aican or Dahab. Like it's got that fruity, musky and peppery DNA to it but not quite like erba pura does it's definitely more Kajal's style the way this is done. But you know what? For a designer you get a niche smelling fragrance for cheaper, so that's a win

It’s certainly different than what what’s on the market. I see the comparison to black XS which takes the uniqueness away from it. I don’t smell this as a warm weather fragrance, and can see this as something a young man would wear. Synthetic vibes.

Just to clear up any future confusion, this perfume DOES NOT smell close to Blue Talisman, but they’re in the same territory of wearability.

Opens up great, lemon, lavender, fruity. Dry down is terrible, thin, mineralic, fresh. Nothingness. Unworthy of the "absolu" moniker.
