Very Hollywood Sparkling

Found a bottle at WALMART for $10, shockingly, and snapped it up. I am glad I did! Took a sniff right from the spray, and loved it. Sprayed it on, not so much. It took about half an hour for it to reach the smell that it had when I sniffed the cap. This was an un-opened and previously not sprayed bottle. I love it, but so far the longevity is a little if-ie on me. It goes marvelously with Vera Wang body lotion, the layering effect giving it a longer, richer experience. From the description of the scent, it seems like all Michael describes of the original, with the three signature scents layered in and more profound at first. I would need to try the original to see how it all works out. I am not generally big gardenia fan, but my curiosity often gets the better of me. Anything is worth a try once! On me, this is peony, a little ornage zest-y [which I am guessing is the neroli], warm kind of marshmallow/caramel, and fruity, which must be the currants. Underneath all of this are many of the scents mentioned in the original, but they appear on the drydown. Once it warms up, it is totally yummy, and I agree with Astrogenic, her last line about how it smells on a grown woman totally nails it. However, I think I like it BECAUSE of that, not inspite of it!

I bought this on Ebay mistakenly, as it was advertised as the original fragrance. I love the packaging and the bottle is really pretty and I do like the scent,but am dissapointed in the longevity. Having said that,it will be nice to use as a light and fresh everyday perfume. It does smell classy and really evokes memories of airport duty-free stores in the early 80's,as it has that pure white floral which was popular. I can't detect any blackcurrant, and only a very slight hint of mandarin,as the main note is really the orange flower which is similar to gardenia or jasmine,but not as heavy. Will probably work best if conbined with body lotion as well-and as I got this for such a good price I think it's worth the investment to get more out of this fragrance. edit: I managed to pick up a bottle of the fabulotion after all, and I was right- the lotion is quite highly scented,and also a little more fruity than the fragrance, so I would recommend using the two together for maximum impact.

Very pretty but oh so boring. I realized that as soon as I started wearing it daily. Elegant? Pleasant? You bet! But it lacks some zest to keep my interest. I don't find it sparkling at all and I wouldn't say that it's for young girls. It's your average white floral, slightly fresh but not overly fruity or childish, so it's safe to say that mature women can wear it as well. I must add that sillage and longevity are below average.

This perfume reminds me a lot of Gold, which I also love. It's a bit lighter than Gold and is lacking the longevity. However, I bought it at a discount, so I'm not disappointed at all. Michael, with his tuberose obsession, always creates some really wonderful combinations. And this perfume is like tuberose champagne. It's perfect for everyday wear.

This opens very fresh but after 15 min it smells exactly like the orignal on me: Like juciy bubblegum! I do love it, it's great! And the bottle is so nice! :) It think it's too expensive though, it's a teenage smell, not sophisticated. It should be priced for teens.

I did not find this perfume outstanding, but it is quite pleasant, you can't take that away from it. I have observed a curious analogy between they way it develops on my skin and the meaning of its name as described in the manufacturer's description - the essence of Hollywood red carpet walk. The perfume opens very clean and fresh - like expensive shampoo or Sea Breeze shower gel: the movie star has taken a shower before getting dressed for the red carpet. Within an hour (on my skin) the smell is mostly composed of berry-fruit salad - a quick snack before leaving for the Oscar. The final sniffs are very much like aftertaste of Jeanne by Lanvin - tender roses and maybe some white wine - the Oscar afterparty itself :) It does not last long on me... won't get a second bottle, but it has been nice meeting this frangrance.

I don't smell any black currant, the orange flower is definitely the front runner, with a hint of citrus in the beginning. It's light and floral and clean with a hint of fruit. If you are wondering how this compares to the original, it is definitely a lighter smell. The original emanates that heady gardenia smell, while this sparkling version is a lighter, floral orange blossom. It's a little sweeter and more crisp. If the regular Very Hollywood is the older sister in her early thirties, Very Hollywood Sparkling would be the younger sister that is around 20. It's a little less mature, a little less floral, and little more reliant on a fresh aspect than the original. I have to admit while I immensely enjoy each one separately I absolutely LOVE the smell of the two layered together.

Very Hollywood Sparkling is very similar to the original with how its a fresh scent, but this has some more zest to it because of all the citrus. the fragrance doesn't change that much but it is still nice instead of the strong gradenia of the original the orange blossom is dominant and the black current gives it a tiny bit if spice in the beginning. Overall its a good scent but if you have the original Very Hollywood there is no point in having the sparkling version. Its a scent that sticks around for most of the day. I actually prefer this version over the original Very Hollywood.

I smell magnolia tuberose gardenia neroli orange flower musk citrus maybe wood... its a mature floral, creamy coconut milk, citrus, soapy musk. I would describe this as Old Hollywood. Not a safe blind buy for over 200$

I was expecting more from this fragrance considering the price and the fact that it's a designer perfume. Very Hollywood Sparkling is an utter disappointment to me. :-( Thankfully I did not pay full price, otherwise I would have been pissed!!!! The notes mention mandarin and neroli. I do not smell that at all. The only note I get from this fragrance is gardenia, or is it tuberose...hmm well all I know is it's some kind of white flower. Come on Michael Kors you can do better than this!!!!!! IAnywho, if you love gardenia or white flower fragrances, save your bucks on this one ladies and just purchase Kim Kardashian's Kim Kardashian black bottle perfume. Smells the same at a much cheaper price!! Ugh, I'm getting that awful powdery dry down that I detest in perfumes. Now for sure this is a definite pass!!! 11/14/13..Just finished the bottle, woohoo. Never plan on purchasing this one again

Can smell very light black currant, this perfume doesnt last 5 seconds before its gone, this is good for pre teens

I tried a sample I received by spritzing my wrist and agree with secretcrush: it's flat, stuck around one note all day with little to no development, which can be nice but I found it boring. It is, however, fresh and pleasant at least. I couldn't detect black currant. It just reminded me of Tocca Touch and smelled of gardenia. Not especially sparkling either, though light and suitable for spring.

Michael Kors Very Hollywood Sparkling is a little bit fruity and spicier than the original. Black currant is what gives it that fruity-spicy kick! Strong and deeply scented floral of the African orange flower with a citrus hint of mandarin. Very Hollywood Sparkling is a nice follow up to the original with an adorable bottle!

I smelled this 2nite and found it to be rather boring... It has a fresher approach than its predecessors, I assume thats because its geared at a younger audience, however it misses the mark in my book. Its a very flat fragrance that doesnt seem to have any development and is mediocre at best...

I can smell melon in this, along with the blackcurrent and flowers. I can't smell anything "sparkling" though. There's only one perfume I can describe as sparkling and thats Jil Sander Sun which has a weird fizzy beginning like nothing else. This is ok, and nothing more.

I would be more disappointed if I hadn't made my purchase as TJ Maxx for a fraction of the retail price. It it is "very" Hollywood, but dries down to a flat gardenia smell and does not last very long.

I love this bottle, love it..but as with the original VH, another disappointing scent for such a lovely bottle! I also don't smell anything "sparkly". I wouldn't want to wear it.
