I'm a huge fan of this general scent combination, namely being the combo of aldehydes and ginger. This is basically the Y EDT that she told you not to worry about. If you like the Y line, you'll like this. I have multiple fragrances with this general profile, and I think all are fantastic, and to a certain extent fairly interchangeable depending on your price range or usage intentions. If you're a fan of this profile, you may be interested in these other fragrances: -Y EDT 2022 (longevity is the only downside, aldehyde and ginger opening is not as bright) -Lattafa Asdaf Emeer Al Arab Impeium (Y EDT clone, even brighter ginger and aldehyde opening, same longevity as Y edt, but can usually be found for 20 bucks or less. Certified oversprayer) -Maison Alhambra Yeah! Parfum (Y Le Parfum clone, but brighter and less sweet, more similar to this or Y edt, also cheap, good longevity) -Calvin Klein Eternity Cologne 2020 (Less bright opening, super cheap, super safe) This has a bright aldehydic opening. Can't tell you why I love aldehydes in my fragrances, but boy do I. I'm not sure how much of the pineapple and mint I can pick up specifically, but it's very fresh and bright in the opening. With this profile I tend to smell the combination of notes all in one rather than the individual notes on their own. This brightness does fade within the first two hours, but the aldehydes linger and pair with the ginger and mint to keep it smelling fresh. This is a pretty safe, Y adjacent, mass appealing shower gel type scent, but with some extra refinement. It doesn't feel as youthful and sweet as some of the Y line. Definitely closer to Y EDT than any of the others I've smelled, but longevity and projection are much better. This makes it a good anytime anywhere all year round fragrance. Office, gym, formal, whatever, this will blend right in and mold itself to fit whatever vibe you need it to. I tried it on at a fragrance outlet location, and the woman at the counter kept asking to smell it off my skin again. Multiple times. It felt....intimate. I may have fallen in love for about 5 minutes while we were discussing it. If I didn't already know that I loved this scent profile and had this on my radar, I would say she was the best salesman I've ever met. Walking out of the store, the intimate ego boost fog from an oddly personal interaction with a store clerk faded quickly, but the fragrance did not. I smelled this on myself for the next few hours easily, and felt confident enough that it inspired me to stay out of the house a while longer. I recommend spraying this on your clothes as well as your skin. The projection isn't too wild so you shouldn't offend anybody. Sorry for oversharing

Amazing daily scent. I've gone through the whole bottle in less than 2 months. This smells very clean and inoffensive, the only downside is the performance. This doesn't last long and stays close to skin after about an hour. I recommend spraying this on clothes as well as on skin. This is what i call the "White Tee" scent. it's never the wrong answer, yet it won't shock anyone around you. You'll just smell like a clean person. will definitely wear this at work. 8/10 my personal favorite from the house. The 2 points taken off is from Price to Performance ratio.

This is such an incredible warm weather fragrance. It has a very bright opening with beautiful fresh greens and mint along with a sparkling ginger that is very prominent. I tried ginger mist but is was way to harsh for me, so this fragrance was the perfect replacement. It’s everything I hoped for and more. Definitely and mass appealing scent profile that would be a great entry fragrance into the niche realm.

Just got this in, and immediately my mind goes to A&F Fierce and Montblanc Legend. Both scents I’ve had and love. This was a blind buy and I don’t regret it at all! I love Modern Poet from this line so I had to grab another one to try it out. It’s a lovely fresh scent, great for everyday wear. I’ll update when I wear it for a few more days. Edit: still loving the scent. The longevity is a bit so-so.

This doesn't smell like anything they are showing on this site. This is fresh, unique, and absolutely stunning. This has to be one of the best fresh openings of all time. Unfortunately, it was gone from the tester strip faster than expected, but I still bought it. This is a beautiful, fresh, citric, and unique fragrance. I'm in love with this.

Fantastic stuff, very bright and fresh and on my skin lasts quite a while. This has been one of my favorite everyday wears due to how inoffensive it is. Got multiple compliments shortly after buying. Maybe my favorite in my collection at the moment I love this.

Not to bad, I cannot compare it to anything and I’ve had thousands. It’s good. Found it on a security mall cop lol. Had to ask, he walked me to the booth selling it. It’s fresh, comforting clean. I don’t smell the green aspect. I get just fresh open air.

Cartoonist has one of the most beautiful openings. The freh pineapple, spicy ginger, and clean mint meet to make a sexy attention grabbing scent. However, it fades within an hour and hardly a skin scent, definitely no scent trail. I recommend wearing it as a layer with any powdery fragrance, like ATH hard candy elixir or JPG le male elixir for a more rounded fragrance.

Good scent for the hot weather. It works well in the office (not offensive at all) and goes great with layering...white T-Shirt approved..my 2nd favorite from the Esquire lineup (Composer being my #1) Get about 3-4 hours of performance though

It’s a nice scent. I get good performance on clothes. Works very well in high heat. I wish it was a tad sweeter. Reminds me of a cross between Montblanc spirit, and Ysl y edt, less screechy than both.

The portlandia is a bit too strong, otherwise it would be an excellent fragrance. The pineapple mint is a solid summer combo.

Its a poor mans Superleggera Now you're gonna to have to coat yourself in this one, this is no 5-6 sprays... more like +15-20 sprays if you want average performance on skin, its light & airy but its a REALLY NICE scent on the dry down. Spray it on your T-shirt if you want it to stand a chance A spring time no-brainer for someone just getting into this fragrance addiction or a young guy with not much to spend. I picked my Cartoonist up for $40 and I wouldn't spend a dollar more, especially now after what I learned after a few wearings Ive found a few layering options for this that makes it work, but... I also have Channels's Superleggera & Arabian Oud's Centro if I want this scent profile which are just superior products in both quality, blend, scent and performance Recommendation: Just buy the OG Superleggera or Montagne's Alcantara Supreme (which is slightly better than the OG)

The dry down is decent. Very light. Reminds me of a lemon cleaner right off. I wanted to like it. I love the idea of it. Maybe if some amboxian or ambergris, green tea and a lot more ginger and a pinch more darkness were added, but thats my own taste. It is a very sparkly and effervescent. Just a bit of pledge with florals Just a bit anemic or thin and comes across a bit synthetic. I like Ocean noir and Composer. Each their own.

Reminds me of the original Ck One. There are differences of course but they share a similar bright, shiny and smooth musk

This smells like the most expensive hand sanitizer you could buy at Neiman Marcus and that's not a knock against it. It almost has a paint-like quality to it; my husband said it was more akin to hand sanitizer, and then in the same breath, said that wasn't a bad thing. We both agreed it's rather addictive, and fitting the title of Cartoonist, evoking this image of someone with ink stains on their skin. It works.
