Ginger+Mist

I think this is one of the best yet from Michael Malul, and I have smelled the large majority of them and purchased quite a few. The ginger is the highlight here. It feels almost “photorealistic” (or whatever the fragrance equivalent would be) and works very well with the citrus notes in the top. The citrus adds a slight sweetness as well. As this dries down the woods and musk takes a larger role. I would describe this fragrance as invigorating all throughout. Performance is good overall for how fresh it is. This is a warm weather scent for sure. I would say this is safe for most occasions, and all age groups. The retail price of $130 is steep in my opinion. However, this seems to be sold consistently for less than that elsewhere, and the prices I am seeing there are good. Also, Michael Malul fragrances are seemingly always a part of a BOGO deal of some sort at Perfumania, which would be worth it in my opinion. My other top recommendations from the brand would be Edgewater, West Loop, and Agar+Myrrh for those interested in that route. Personally, I am likely to pick this up next spring. This is a great release.

This is a delightful fizzy ginger fragrance that becomes woody and very musky in the dry-down. The opening is vibrant and fresh, and will radiate about 2 hours before reducing a bit in sillage, but will still pump for a good 4 hours. You will get another two hours as a skin scent that will still linger throughout the day. I found that an average 4-5 sprays in the morning works, and a refresher of 2-3 sprays in the early afternoon helps the fragrance stick through the day. The ginger smells fantastic mixed with the citruses and pineapple, and the woody, musky dry-down is equally pleasant. Would easily be a 10/10 fragrance, but the performance holds it at about an 8.5-9/10. Perfect for spring, summer, and the gym. Decent price point but phenomenal value if you can find it discounted (which you normally can).

Fragrance Journal Entry #90 Very fitting name for this scent, what you see is what you get. Starts off very bright sparkling frosted ginger ale, this part lasts about 1-2h then it slowly becomes ginger dominant as the citrus top notes fade. Deep into the dry down you get a feint smell of a well hydrated piss, so it goes from "ginger mist" to "ginger pissed" real quick, but i actually don't mind it because the opening is truly that gorgeous. Doesn't last all too long like most Malul fragrances (4-5h) but i don't mind over spraying when summer comes back around. Rating: 8.2/10 Blind Buy Safe? YES

This cologne smells absolutely amazing my favorite from the perfume house by far and is such a beautiful scent, but personally it performs horrible on my skin I only get an hour or two out of it before I can’t smell it at all, I don’t know if it’s just how it reacts with my skin but it’s gone within a few hours and it’s so disappointing because it truly is a beautiful cologne

Just picked this up the other day and I really enjoy it. It has a light airy ginger/citrus scent with a smooth creaminess to it. I can see this being great on a warm day, but is also currently working great on me when its -1 Celsius out. I think this would later well with Imagination, Meteore, Pacific Chill, or any other dupes of those. Overall 8.5/10

Crisp ginger and lime with other citruses and woods in dry down. Reminds me of bohemian lime and ingenious ginger blended about 75/25. Fantastic fresh feel good scent! Will go with any of that Aventus style DNA if you want to layer as well. Great release!!

I absolutely love the scent of this. It smells like a fresh fizzy drink. I love the way the ginger shows itself in the blend. It’s a pretty moderate performer that sits a little closer to the skin. If this was a little stronger it would be unstoppable.

This is amazing it's my second niche I 100% recommend. Very ginger heavy, but it's so smooth and so so so good. It lasts about 5-6 hours on my skin which is pretty average for this type of scent. If you like ginger it's blind buy safe.

This is THE ginger fragrance for spring/summer. Basically a Moscow mule with lemon and pineapple. The ginger is sooooo good in this and smells photorealistic. The gin in here makes it pop and gives it such a fizzy vibe 9/10

One of the best fragrances i’ve ever smelled EVER. Michael Malul doesn’t miss! this is definitely the best ginger scent in the market. Lasts up to 6-8 hours but skin scent for more than 12+ hours. will be buying more!

My favorite warm weather fragrance of all time. It’s sweet but not syrup sweet, more like ginger beer sweet. Fizzy, ginger, incredibly smooth and refined fragrance for anyone, I think its a 10/10 pickup.

Great for Spring , Summer day or night. Not invasive at all and I go heavy on the sprays. Love to layer it with Zest + Vetiver. Alone or in the layering always receive a few compliments. Very zen!!

This is a superb summer fragrance, smells like a fizzy spicy/citrus summery cocktail. So fresh and light but not anything groundbreaking, blind buy safe. Another banger from Malul as usual 8/10

This fragrance is really good, I’ve been wearing it with the nice weather and/or for a gym scent. This layered with Marley’s Mellow Mood however is a crazy good layering combo

The kiosk at the mall throws a michael at me every time I walk by and last I stopped I got Candy which smells like a sweeties roll of candies but Michaels sillage is very close to the skin on both that one and when I smelled this one? I thought, I havent smelled ginger done that well in... ever. So I got it for my husband and this one is my favorite of all his perfumes. No, you wont have to smell Michael Malul's from several feet away and I kinda think thats a good thing sometimes because "beast mode" of what you think smells good may not be what I do and vice versa for all occasions. Its a day and spring and summer scent and night in hot weather. Its... soooo good though. I love this one for men. I rarely smell a mans fragrance I think, "Oh thats unique AND smells good AND still smells masculine" but Ginger Mist does. Im really not into men smelling like vanilla cupcakes. No offense if you are I like the older school ones this has a bit of a twist though with the ginger the oud the zest and spice. Im just in love with this one. And for $50?! Go crazy. Spray with abandon. Dont buy it full price buy it at the discounter (just like every other perfume that you want that can be found there lol we dont pay macys or sephora prices unless we hate our money). Id only deduct points because some may like more sillage or longer performance. It gives about as good as Mon Guerlain performance. Mid. Tho scent is beautiful. Which is to say damn it was just there and now its gone already? And you have to get close up to smell it. I recommend spraying on the clothes so it lasts a while. The longer you have it though, of course that gets better but Ive still noticed his fragrances are delicate even with maturation. They last long, but sit very close. The scents? Ive had to buy every MM that woman sprays at me as I walk by so now Im avoiding her! Lol

Ginger ale soda, even including the sweetness which is not indicated by the accords. If you're familiar with Jordi Fernandez or Quentin Bisch freshies then you might already familiar with the DNA of Akigalawood and/or Georgywood that they use heavily (Givaudon probably told them to use up their mountain of it in the warehouse). This is just the Ginger version of Blue Talisman/Sedley especially at the dry-down but puts into perspective what the perfume actually cost, the other perfumes are $400 retail while you can find Ginger+Mist even off the official site at around $100 with their own provided discount codes or $60 from some discounters. Absolutely a great value for anyone looking for a modern blue/freshie style fragrance that doesn't need to be the center of attention. Safe blind buy especially at discounter price, easy cheap dumb reach when you want to save the expensive stuff for a more important occasion.

Nothing groundbreaking here. It’s a pretty standard fresh summer scent, but for some reason I’m loving it. It’s firmly in that mass appealing, generic summer freshie category - light, bright, and invigorating. Works day or night, dress it up, dress it down, office safe, anywhere safe. I look forward to spending more time with this one this summer. I grabbed a 10 mL for $30, a little pricey, but Malul’s can often be found for far less $/mL. We’ll see if it becomes full bottle worthy. Worth a try for anyone looking for a new summer scent.

I guess I'm the first to review it. It's a nice scent on the opening with a very, and i mean VERY, musky drydown that I wasn't expecting. The opening is very nice. A very citrus and ginger open gives a fresh, yet sweet scent. But as it dries down, that freshness disappears and you get a Musk note that really takes over the scent. Performance is meh. Not great, not terrible. I get about 2 hours as the opening dries down and then another 3 or so as a skin scent. It's not bad, but performance lacks.

Ginger and gin opening with akigalawood, georgywood, sandalwood, nutmeg, and a hint of coriander drydown, all in unity. Salty, woody, herbal, slightly sweet, clean, and simple. Unique and pleasant masculine scent. Don't mind the obvious ginger, but the rest of the woody notes blend is executed very well. This might be my very first time ever seeing akigalawood note being used to perfection. It's well-balanced and well-blended with other notes. It has average sillage and longevity.

It's really good. I actually love the scent. It is so fresh and quite sweet but in a good way. I can only give this a 5/10 overall because the projection, sillage, longetivity are absolutely horrible. One of the worst performing fragrances that I own, out of about 70. I'm telling you that I literally put on 20 sprays and my wife can't smell it after 30 minutes, unless she puts her nose to my arm....

Good and straightforward. It smells like Ginger ale for the first hour or two and dries down to a woody slightly spicy yet still airy musk. Mass appealing and safe for work / gym so long as sprays are kept in check. Atomizer is INSANE. Excellent choice for layering. 7-8/10 Great value at the $80 price point I picked mine up for. I wouldn't pay too much more than that tho.

Really smells like ginger ale with a slightly smoothed out effervescence - not flat soda - more like you infused this delicious ginger ale into a bar of soap. I'm not sure where I'd wear it as this doesn't fit my look but this is delightful. It has a spa day vibe. Clean fresh and uplifting. Smooth and natural. Therapeutic!

Beautiful, effervescent, elevated scent hampered by piss poor performance. Inexcusably bad performance, in my opinion. The most sublime ghost farts you will ever sniff. 9/10. An EDP would make this the undisputed king of fresh fragrances.

Very nice. Light, airy citrus ginger. Its like a ginger beer on ice. A daily wear to the office. Great for warmer weather.
