Jet Black Intense

This has to be one of the best green scents ever. Bought it at the outlet mall around a month ago and currently have less then half the bottle, Great all year round scent. Opens up with a nice green apple and mint then drys down into a minty lavender sage soap. The green apple is really only smelt during the first hour of you applying it. Very high quality scent but imo this DNA has been done many times. Reminds me of CDNIM Limited edition with apple and mint, does not last as long or project as hard though. I get 6-7 hours, of that the last 4 hours being a bubble scent (1-2 feet of projection). A great scent for almost any and every occasion. Just not something to wear out for a special event or a date night.

Opens with aventus-y fresh spiciness, and then dries down to a similarly aventus-like fresh and clean apple and mint. Floral whilst also being masculine. Definitely underrated and pretty good price. Longevity on my skin isn't amazing though - only around 4-5 (sometimes 6) hours, but I think this issue isn't common with most people. Projection is also pretty good. All round a great fragrance, and if you want an aventus-like smell with niche tones, this is the one.

My favorite fragrance based of off smell alone. Unfortunately I need to spray myself at least 15 times to get any sillage. Plus it doesn't last long unless I bathe in it. Even then it won't last more than two-three hours max. I have to re apply have way through the day. It smells so strong on application it'll permeate through the entire room but will leave after 15 minutes. Unfortunate that it barely lasts. For me Smell 10/10 performance 2/10

This is my go to professional fragrance. Masculine, not overly strong, and a great office scent. Also would work for going out, but I think there are better scents for that purpose. Great scent for night and winter, although I feel its too dark for me to wear as a daily. This one keeps growing on me, but even now a pretty good pick up.

Simply put, this smells like a mix between Aventus and Eros, but in the best way possible! Extremely well blended, smooth and versatile- I would give this a 10 if not for the moderate performance. 9/10

Updated review after going through a quarter of the bottle. It's definitely an Aventus inspired fragrance. It's Aventus with less spice, no pineapple and no moss. It's like a more crowd pleasing lighter Aventus . You do get the apple with fresh spice and aromatics. It then dries down to fresh light wet aromatics with vetiver light patchouli and a touch of suede. Overall there is no doubt that this is Aventus vibes but it does have a very light touch that reminded me of BDC. The more I wore this the more I appreciated this. I do wish it had more black pepper up top and a bit more suede on the base . But overall it just works and it's such an easy daily. Super versatile. There are very few occasions when this wouldn't work. Excellent to wear to work. Where this falls flat is in the performance department. It doesn't last. I have been wearing it to work most days for the past several weeks. I am spraying this 2 times on each forearm and 3 times on the front of my shirt and one behind the neck. I get about an hour of projection which fades fast after about 30 minutes. After hour 2 it's a close scent with weak sillage . At about 3 hours you can still smell it on your skin but it sitting really close. On my shirt with 3 sprays pretty much on top of each other it's already sitting pretty close as well. Even for something office safe you still want better performance than this. Expect to respray at about hour 4. It just sits a bit too close. I was able to smell it on my skin about 6 hours later but I'm pretty much pressing my nose onto my skin. It's a good fragrance and I do like it but I really need to shower in this for whatever I'm doing outside of work 12 sprays. Yes I know it sounds excessive but try this and you'll see what I'm taking about. I rarely spray anything over 5 times . Due to that it's absolutely not worth the $130 it's going for at the moment. $60-$70 is ok . If the performance was at least 15 to 20% better I would have given this a 7/10 but as it is it's getting a 6/10. Which isn't bad.

@Zemnotic: JBI is technically not a dupe. To the best of my knowledge, Michael Malul isn't trying to copy anybody, and when I search, Google says, "No, Michael Malul is not considered a 'dupe' brand; it is generally regarded as a niche fragrance house that aims to produce high-quality, unique scents with distinct fragrance profiles, rather than directly copying popular perfumes from other brands, which is the typical definition of a 'dupe.'" I do agree that it smells similar to Aventus. I own both. But Jet Black Intense actually smells more like Zara Vibrant Leather, which I also own and which I've read *is* intended to be a dupe of Creed Aventus, but there's a difference. JBI and VL both smell like they're not as potent or as crisp as Aventus (notwithstanding the neverending discussion over the supposed changes to Aventus's formula), almost synthetic. I don't think you should be upset having both yourself. For my most expensive colognes (like Aventus and LV L'Immensite, which is almost $400/bottle), I'll try to find a high-quality dupe so that I can wear the same DNA for daily wear without carrying the guilt of using up the bottle when not for a special occasion. This same use could apply here.

Love the smell, but it just does not last. Even with a generous number of sprays, you'll get about an hour of decent projection and scent, then it calms down. It essentially becomes a skin scent after about three hours. A very nice skin scent of slight sweetness with that suede note really coming alive. Wish it performed better because it really does smell fantastic. Ocean Noir and Citizen Jack Absolute, also from Michael Malul, have no issue in terms of longevity and both smell incredible. I wonder why Jet Black Intense got the short end of the tester strip?

Will update a refined review soon - upon first impressions, this is a solid fresh spicy heavy buy. Immediately evoking Aventus / Aventus cologne - as it's lighter and a tinge more aromatic and "niche" compared to Creed. The mint and apple say designer, the floral aromatics say niche, and the familiar base lull you to security. Unfortunately I can't help but compare to CDNIM ExtDP. **UPDATE** Very evocative of Dior sauvage and aventus with a familiar fresh open, smoky dry. Wearable all day, but lasts only about 6 ish hours.

I bought this in a set for a decent price, not retail but also not discounter prices. I do smell the Aventus similarities in the opening, it really doesn't last long, maybe 10 minutes then it turns to a very pleasant woody aromatic fragrance with a refreshing kind of vibe to it. reminds me of Sauvage but much much smoother and more balanced. Smells absolutely beautiful, but its performance is horrible on my skin, maybe 3-4 hours despite having 28% oil concentration in it. Scent = 8/10 Performance = 4/10

Woody, slightly sweet with floral lavender notes, creating a great scent combo. Versatile. Gives off a professional scent like you could wear it in an office, but could also be a date night, seductive type of fragrance with that calming lavender note. It does have that MontBlanc Explorer/Creed Aventus man musk DNA, but there are no fruity or mossy notes. Jet Black Intense is more of a lavender/musk type fragrance. If you want a manly lavender based cologne this ones perfect for you.

I really like the top notes, fruity but still masculine. Smells great. Not sure of the right occasion for this, but it is probably not something you'd wear to the office, but also not so masculine I'd wear it on a date. Brunch? Anyway, it's decent. Probably could do better for $100 though.

This might just be one of the most underrated scents out there... it’s a nice lowkey peppery scent that’s super affordable in comparison to other brands. This is the fragrance I will always reach for if I have to teach a class in the colder months.

Absolutely love this stuff. Is anyone else experiencing performance problems? It's worked great everytime for me. Seems to impress everyone around me too. I'm gonna keep supporting this house though cuz everything I've bought from them is 🔥🔥🔥

My Dad wore one cologne, Drakkar Noir. It smelled great on him. Still does. In my current collection, I think if my Dad had to choose a scent, he would reach for Jet Black Intense. That is a compliment to both my Dad and Jet Black... That being stated, I don't want to suggest it comes off targeted to older men. It smells very masculine, sophisticated, and professional to me. I wore it today and it was over the top for my casual work from home / take the kid to soccer practice kind of day. I would wear it to a social or work formal function. Because the longevity (about 4+/- hrs) is unfortunately not there, as well as the profile / notes of the the cologne, it makes it good for evening wear. It really is a wonderful scent that I have no regrets as having in my collection.

After buying Creed Aventus and comparing the two, I'm so mad that they smell so similar. It would be a plus for Jet Black Intense if it wasn't so expensive for a dupe. The only reason I got it was because I haggled the fragrance outlet clerk into making it dirt cheap. The worst part is that Jet Black Intense is better on my skin than Creed Aventus, so now I have two colognes that smell practically the same with the dupe being better performing. If you can get this for dirt cheap, then go for it. More power to you. If that clerk isn't budging to lower the price, then don't bother.

I got a sample of this in a mall, as I wouldn't have gone out of my way to try this any other way. At best this is a great suggestion for someone who hasn't been collecting or using fragrances for long. I found it priced quite high to the point you might as well go with a more established, easier to purchase brand like Dior as for sure they will be around in 10-20 years. If you own Sauvage EDT/EDP and any form of Aventus, the legit version to one of the 9999 clones, this is redundant to get. This starts off like Aventus, then after a few minutes you get that dark, spicy, soapiness of Dior Sauvage without the bright citrus top notes Then it morphs pretty much into both with a tiny bit of fahrenheit (1988) which takes a wild imagination to detect. I've worn Dior Sauvage EDP for 4 years and my brother has gone through almost three 100ml bottles of Al Harmain L'Aventure so projection and longevity I wouldn't be the person to ask. You might as well buy Al Haramain L'Aventure and Modest Une by Afnan (sauvage copy) and do around 4 sprays of modest une and one spray of L'Adventure to get this scent. With all the savings you'll be able to take that special someone out on the town or buy a third or possibly fourth bottle of fragrance.

Just got this in the mail. 20% off their website so I pulled the trigger. Definitely aromatic. Nothing groundbreaking. Reminds me of Michael Jordan cologne and Mont Blanc explorer. To me, almost identical to mb, replacing Ambroxan with sweet apple (which powers through the longer it sits) It also is more pleasant the as it dries down. As I’m typing this I’m liking it more. I do like it, girlfriend really likes it but agreed it smells like a couple others that I have. I don’t think it’s worth the price, not even with the 20% off. Should be price of mb exp on discounters. If you’re looking for a cologne to fill your aromatic spot, I’d recommend mb solely because of the price. 8/10

This smells great! When you first get it spray it for a couple of days and then let it sit for 2 weeks, it needs to age a little like Creed does. Fruity and masculine. Easy compliment getter, easy to wear, easy to love. The ocean noir from them is a great one as well!

This has so much potential to be a great fragrance. It's basically the opening of aventus with nice dose of incense and it's smells great but the performance is absolutely terrible. You'll be lucky to get 45min! Smell 9/10 performance 1/10

Feels like an aromatic take on the aventus dna. Once it dries down it becomes very soapy which is nice.

Smells decent for what it is. Should be half the price it is though.

Creed Aventus all day. Not a bad clone, but a clone none the less.
