In essence, this is a vetiver fragrance, a fresh citrus and sweetened take on vetiver. This is very close to Tumi Atlas, or should I say the backbone of the composition are extremely similar. There are some nuances of Bleu de Chanel and Missoni Pour Homme (brown bottle). The only real difference is the use of a strong grape fruit accord that can be clearly detected after 10 minutes of spraying it on skin. The grape fruit is initially obscured by a blast of lighter citrus notes of citron and lemon...these fade away rather fast. I like it, and I like the fact that this is a woody take on a fresh sweet scent. It's not ground breaking or new, but a very safe and nice choice. The favorite from the line is definitely and without a doubt is Editor in Chief. That one is extremely high quality stand out from everything else in the entire house. For me this is daytime, spring and summer only.

One of my favorite blind buys ever. I originally got this because I loved Ocean Noir and wanted to try another Michael Malul fragrance, and, honestly, this one surpassed my expectations. The opening is a really masculine fresh citrus blast that reminds me of Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée, but as it dries down it turns into a sweet herbal balsamic scent where the amber, vetiver, and matcha really get to shine. The dry down is a very unique scent profile that I haven’t smelled anywhere else, and I love it. I also got a couple of my male and female friends and family to smell it, and they all said it was great. The main downside for this is that it stays fairly close to the skin and is in no way a beast mode fragrance, so it might require some overspraying. Overall, I would recommend getting it as it’s very unique and fairly inexpensive to try out (0.33 oz for $25).

This smells good. It's actually in the same lane as argos neptunes trident, wu long cha, etc. This has a touch of added patchouli and a hint more of the spice. The dry down reflects hints of Micallef Gn tonic. So if you like the scents above, you'll love this. Longevity isn't beast mode and nor are any of the other scents mentioned. Office safe. Perfect for.med professionals who can't wear strong scents to work due to asthmatics and others with respect issues.. Safe blind buy. 4.2 overall Longevity is moderate With sillage not much of an arms length.

Just got this fragrance. The scent itself is wonderful. There’s a crispness to it that works in the summer, but there’s depth to this that I think can work in the colder months. This can definitely wear upscale but it can also be dressed down. I’ve actually found that as it dries it projects a bit more in the mid. This surprised me. I thought because it’s an Esquire collab it could be a bit gimmicky but I think it’s a very well put together fragrance. Smells more expensive than it is.

Ooo, this is a very nice fresh fragrance. I definitely get the citrus and gin in the opening, and it dries down to this really great matcha note. Very clean with a slight spicy, sweetness. It doesn't last too long, but it lasts enough to wear to the gym or to run errands. I did get a compliment from the very first wear. It's good for work too, but you will have to reapply maybe after 4-5 hours. It does last a long time on clothes. I really enjoy it.

It's my second review here, basically not really a review, just sharing a lil bit of insight. As soon as I sprayed this on it made me remember of Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir, unsure if the EDP or not. Anyways, it feels slightly sweet, but not a bad or candied sweet. I truly like it very much, but as for longevity, meh, not great. For the price I paid, which was like $50, that's fine, but depends on you and what you would consider "good" or "bad".

Very pleasant aromatic scent. Not too green and citrus is nicely balanced. Reminds me a lot of the terre d’hermes original just less dirty. Also similar to eau givree but smells much cleaner. I was actually looking for something in between the original Hermes (too dirty) and the Eau givree (too light) and this landed perfectly in the middle. projects more after around 2 hours of wear.

Beautiful scent. Heavy citrus in the opening, but dries down into an absolutely Beautiful masculine skin scent. Wish it was a little stronger, but this thing is just addictive. Will be a warmer weather consistent wear for me. Would be great in the office too.

I find this addicting, that macha tea is great and the dry down is super masculine. You get 5 to 7 hours, is a fresh scent, great for the summer or everyday drive.

Note for those interested, the base notes should list fir balsam as the box does, instead of balsamic notes as shown here. Review to follow. Hint, it's good stuff!

Great office scent fresh clean smelling,uplifting as well. Great for layering with Ocean Noir as well.

I really wanted to love this one. The opening is ultra fresh, mid is a perfect gin & tonic in the same league as Torino 21, and the drydown is woody green perfection. On my skin, the problem is in the performance. Opening lasts 15 minutes, mid lasts 30, and drydown is about an hour before it completely disappears. The OG La Nuit de L’homme laughs at the performance of this juice - at least it the YSL can last long enough to get through date night. Jealous of the guys who get more longevity out of this. Can’t win ‘em all, I guess.

Quite pleasant! Opens citrusy and fresh but quickly dries into an earthy, aromatic scent with just a touch of sweetness. I do wish the performance was better; I carry a travel size to help with that. Definitely seems more suited to summertime, especially if you like forests and mountains. Edit: Wore this on a date and my girlfriend told me I smelled "very fuckable". Your mileage may vary!

Smells incredible, citron and matcha=good combo. Doesn’t last though.

This is the only one from the Esquire line that I didn't appreciate, and it's not because it made me gag or smelled generic; it's because I couldn't smell anything whatsoever. And I can't call it nose blindness, as it was the first I smelled and tested on my skin when I arrived at the fragrance store. Nothing. My husband smelled the paper strip and my wrist - nothing. Like vague rubbing alcohol water. And then we tried others and we could smell them just fine. This scent is a phantom.

This stuff is absurd. It’s fresh... but not “I just took a shower and borrowed my little brother’s body wash” fresh. This is the kind of fresh that makes you question why you’ve been wearing blue fragrances your whole life. It smells like you’re hiding from a warm tropical rain under the covered patio of some stupidly expensive hotel in Indonesia. Everything is soaked. The trees are glowing green. The air is thick, humid, and somehow still crisp. A breeze rolls through at the perfect time, your first afternoon cocktail hits the table, and for the first time all week, nobody needs anything from you. It’s spicy, earthy, green, woody, clean... but somehow none of those words actually explain it. It doesn’t smell like soap. It doesn’t smell like the ocean. It doesn’t smell like a laundry aisle. It smells like money with a passport. 10/10. 8-10 hours of solid workability btw. Bad take to say it don’t last. It does

Went to Perfumania out here on Long Island and they were pulling all the stops with the new parfums. I'm into Niche so they really don't have Niche at Perfumania but they pulled this one out for me. Tried it on my arm. Immediately, first thing that came to my mind was Gntonic by M.Micallef. Without a doubt, this has that gin tonic vibe with some tea mixed in. I would say longevity wise they are the same. I have to revisit this one. I was going to buy a full bottle of Gntonic. I agree, I saw Esquire on the bottle and I rolled my eyes, then again the scent is nice, but for some reason I think M Micaleff is better quality and non-gimmicky.

Great pine and citrus opening. Huge fan of all the notes, very fresh and pleasant green, but with none of the nasty notes. My main critique is it doesn't last or project like I was hoping it would. I'd say there's good projection for the first hour and a half, but becomes a more intimate skin scent after 2 hours. In total it lasts for 4-5 hours max.

I swear on my life Michael used the same citron note found in mazaaj infused so all I can smell here is a Louis Vuitton imagination clone. Not at all what the note breakdown had me thinking it would smell like at all and definitely not what a poet would smell like.

This is amazing. After a while the matcha comes out and goes a unique flare on this citrus forward fragrance for me it lasts around 6 hours. Isn’t very strong but to me it’s unique and a crowd pleaser.

This smells like Declaration by Cartier and definitely stronger and projects a little more. I love Declaration so this is definitely a hit. So far it's been hard to find in stores.
