Zest+Vetiver

picture this: tree bark that just got squirted with lemons. except its actually one of the best things you've ever smelt. sweet lemon, warm earthy tones, kinda musky. This thing performs like none other in my collection with easily all day on my skin and a few sprays fill up rooms. I have yet get bad comments on this and only get praises, even having heard "smells like you took the pure essence of spring, milked it, and then let that age like fine wine only before glorifying yourself with this scents presence, which i don't think your worthy of" -my friend. Now, one downside, this thing is pricy and not too popular so i see where there is some hesitancy, however; i have a workaround. I literally got my bottle off of Depop for 50$ (80$ off not including taxes) from a reseller WHO IS ACTUALLY LEGIT and sells actually quite a few colognes and perfumes for incredible prices so if you wanna check them out their name is like Perfume Queen or something. overall 9.4/10 spring cologne, couldn't be more happy with this for only 50$

I don't get the Sauvage connection at all. The only Sauvage I like out of the whole line up is the edt, and Michael Malul's Zest and Vetiver smells like none of them. It does however smell like a citrusy, blue, clean, soapy, and incredible men's fragrance. Thus far, I have bottles of Ocean Noir, San Lucas, and Citizen Jack, along with decants of Amber + Smoke, Cartoonist, Jet Black, and Zest + Vetiver, and by far I think Z+V is the best one. They're all great actually- none of them are challenging and they are incredible scents for beginners. They all smell designer and they're easily likable. Other than the above description of Z+V, I can't really describe it any other way. It's clean, it's citrusy, and it's soapy and blue. It's a summertime scent for sure. I don't get the tree bark, earthiness, or vetiver to be honest. As for longevity and projection, I can't tell. I've only sampled it a few times on my wrist so far.

Soft, fresh, powdery and round (guessing its the orris root), this fragrance is an amazing summer scent for those who don't want to blow up a room, but still get noticed. The lime is a bit sharp on the opening, but very quickly settles into well blended citrus, orris root, and lavender scent. As someone who is not a fan of really bright and projection bomb-citrusy summer fragrances, Michael Malul killed it with this and gave me my first summer-scent that I feel comfortable wearing daily. With mild projection and longevity, this is perfect to wear outside in the sun where the heat can assist in projection. Only thing with this, and seems to be a trend with Michael Malul, is that it dries down into a skin scent pretty quick. I would give it 2-4hrs of projection but up to 12hrs of skin scent. This can be a pro or con for you, depending on what your intentions are with this perfume.

First fragrance review I've ever done, but smelling Zest + vetiver on my shirt for the last 5 hours has made me so happy I just had to let the people know! I have many Michael Malul's, all bought from discount sellers or auctions because $140 is definitely overpriced. But if you are asking yourself which of his line is worth a retail price, it's definitely Zest + Vetiver. I know Ocean Noir gets alot of hype, and rightfully so, it's a wonderful delicious blue scent. But is it worth $140? No, not in my opinion. The longevity for Ocean Noir is like 3 hours on my shirt, maybe 1 hour on skin so you have to overspray which means you need to pay that $140 again much sooner than if you go with Z+V. I layer Z+V with D&G The One Gold Intense and I want to smother myself with my own shirt it's so good!

It opens up like sauvage edt, then after a minute or 2 its just slightly changes gets some slight additional sweetness, but still very similar to sauvage. I then put the strip down for 5-10 minutes, picked it up again, it turned into 1 to 1 armaf urban man elixir, I need to compare but from memory, and I wore UME a lot in recent times, and it smells EXACTLY like it now. Maybe the sweet fruit aspect is just slightly turned down but this whole sweet fruit citrus accord has the exact same scent. Which is great because UME is a crazy good perfume but its cheaper and it has crazy longevity and performance, so I dont really see the point in getting a full bottle of this. But man, what an incredible scent, blind buy worthy, just a thing of beauty really, all year around signature worthy scent

This is my second Michael Malul purchase, behind Ocean Noir. Both are great and look forward to exploring more from Malul. The perfumer who created this is the same gentleman behind PDM Layton and Althair. He is also the creator of Ingenious Ginger and Pacific Rock Moss from Goldfield & Banks. I love the opening and wish it lasted longer. The dry down reminds me a little of designer men’s fragrances - to me, this would be at home under Valentino’s Uomo Born in Roma line. I like the vetiver and oakmoss in the base paired with the lavender as the lavender remains strong on my skin throughout. You can find these at discounters and is a great value that can be had for half of what you would pay for designer brands.

First big fragrance purchase and I can say without a doubt that I do not and will not regret it. I'm no fragrance expert but the best way I can put it is a very light lemon scent that blends so incredibly well with the lower earthy tones. As far as longevity I'd say it's alright to good, sadly the sweet zest does fade soon but the warm earthy after tone does make up for it. Can't recommend a blind buy due to the difference to most other colognes I've smelt, but this is definitely worth a check-out.

I have this and for me is closer to Percival by Parfums de Marly with out the cinnamon note so is more unisex and little bit sweeter and brighter both men and women can rock this and the smell is a people pleaser, great for the summer and spring.

This a fragrance I love smelling! The lemon top notes, the citrus and lavender middle notes combined with the zetiver on the dry down. One of my top 2 favorites.

Love this scent profile! It has garnered plenty of compliments especially on the warmer days. Side note fragrantica needs to add Ginger+Mist... tis also a banger

From the very first spritz, the scent greets you with a vibrant and aromatic opening. The combination of fresh lemon and sage creates a lively and invigorating atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for warm days. After about five minutes, I detected subtle notes of lavender, which add a soft, powdery nuance. Interestingly, this lavender evokes the note found in Dior Sauvage, suggesting a connection between the two fragrances. As the scent develops, a grounding earthy aroma emerges, likely from the vetiver. This note is not smoky, but it effectively balances the initial citrus burst, adding a layer of depth to the fragrance. In terms of performance, Zest + Vetiver projects well for the first hour, but I did notice a decline in its intensity after that, with the scent beginning to fade by the fourth hour. While the longevity may not be stellar, I still find it to be a refreshing scent that keeps me satisfied.

It smells very close to dior sauvage elixir, just with an earthy and more fresh aspect rather than that “bubblegum” sweetness in sauvage elixir. Overall a good everyday scent but I think this is a 21+ fragrance.

This could literally be a clone of telegrama by imaginary authors, which, by the way, I thought smelled like sauavage when I smelled telegrama. So when I smelled this, my mind instantly went to telegrama and then sauvage. Sauvage with the metallicness in fat electrician (from whoever made that, like orange de le some shit) . 1.5/5

Michael Malul is what I would call "a brand for confident introverts". Their men's fragrances are all well blended, balanced, and confidently strong without demanding attention. So naturally, the arrogant snobs that demand every new cologne release be something groundbreaking and room filling won't have much positive to say about them. That being said, this one is by far my favorite of their line. The lemon zest, sage, and basil in the opening give it a sweet, zesty, but less sharp, lime note to my nose. As it dries, the lime note fades slightly, and the Orris root and lavender emerge, adding a freshness and slight dryness/powderiness with the lime and more citrus lingering in the mix. On my skin, I get more of the vetiver, only a little oakmoss and not much amber. The vetiver is kept from getting smoky by the rest of the notes, giving it just a slightly earthy note to ground it and hold it all together. This one also performs best in warm-hot weather and especially in humidity. I sprayed a few times and wore it around the house to try it out. It's noticeable, but a soft projection. I went outside for a hike and shortly after and the projection increased significantly. All in all, it's not super unique, but it is different. I can't really think of anything to compare this to. It's in the same vein as Mont Blanc Spirit with that expensive/fancy laundry detergent type smell with a little sportiness, for lack of a better comparison. Spring in a bottle sums it up. I bought a bottle immediately after smelling it and don't regret it a bit. If you have a perfume palace or similar company (usually found in malls), they are authorized retailers and will have it available there to smell.

Michael Malul’s Zest + Vetiver is a triumph of modern accessibility. It avoids the dark, brooding, sometimes challenging nature of old-school vetivers, opting instead to deliver pure, joyful, sunlit refinement. For the gentleman seeking a brilliant, daytime signature that radiates cleanliness and contemporary style, this bottle is well worth the investment.

I’ll be completely honest and straight to the point. Smells like tree bark covered in citrus and it’s fantastic. Never disappointed with Michael Malul. Better than and very close to 9am Dive or Odyssey Mega Man. Thank you for coming to my scent talk.

This smells just like Sauvage + Oud For Greatness. It’s got the creamy citrus with a slightly spiced backbone from OFG. A beautiful scent that feels like a lighter Sauvage Elixir!

WHY did they not just go ahead and name this "Zestiver?"
