Sale Perfume 01

It's superior copy of Black Cashmere. I love this juice. The same quality, longevity and vibe. Perfect for winter time. Edit on Dec.15th 2023: it's been almost 10 years since I reviewed it here and today I used it again. Wow, same quality, longevity and beauty of the composition. Maybe it's a matter of using it on fabrics and on skin, not on skin only that is a key to reach the right parameters from Sale01. Wow, it still amazes me.

I sill have it, I'm wearing it right now. Potent , addictive , smooth warm woody amber tea- it's much netter then Cashmere Donna Karan..

This is really similar to DK Black Cashmere, but it's less expensive, it lasts longer and it's actually a bit less dry than Black Cashmere. It's also somewhat similar to Piotr Czarnecki Sensei, but that one opens a lot more boozy and feels more "wet", almost like the traditional British Christmas pudding, whereas Sale Perfume 01 is more dry and spicy and lacks this boozy note. I love both but at this pricepoint and looking at performance, Sale Perfume 01 is clearly a winner! If money were not an issue, I'd prefer Sensei though, but they are different scents at the bottomline. ;-) The opening is very spicy, warm cloves and pepper greet you right from the first second on. After the top settles down a bit, I am left with a hint of spicy tea. I don't really get saffron or rose though. But I do find the labdanum and woods from the base to have a strong presence. Perhaps overshadowing the tea note a little, but it feels quite balanced all together. This has a certain smokiness to it. Even feels a little resinous, but only slightly. All in all, Michał Szulc did a very good job with this one. The whole scent does get a little linear after about 30 minutes, but that is not a big problem for me. I usually prefer linear scents over everchanging dynamic ones.

In my opinion, Suki Essence smells more like DKBC than this, and I have both. The cloves are off-putting for me in this, and there is no incense or oud, like in SE and BC. And this is very hard to find. SE is a head -turner and is readily available but is getting more expensive.

I remember a few years ago, I was frantically looking around for a bottle of this perfume. I was tempted by these spices, woods, this tea, but they missed me, and probably came back at the right time, because they don't make any impression on me anymore. Perhaps because I perceive them as too subtle and almost transparent. Cloves and fresh pepper appear at the very beginning, and soon the woody notes are added and this is where I finish. On my skin, the smell can't even develop, because it disappears after less than 2 hours, and what I feel does not really shock me. I know this set of spices and wood conquer from many perfumes. I have to admit, however, that Sale is warm and pleasantly spicy, but its lack of character and this together with really hopeless longevity disqualifies it for me.

This one is my latest great discovery. I am insanely happy to own this. Sale Perfume 01 starts with peppery, smoky, dry ethereal rose. The composition seems not to change a lot over time, as rose stays prominent for quite a while, but don't let it fool you - you suddenly realise that clove and saffron start to fill-in the rose frames of this georgous frag, making it more spicy and preparing you for grand finale. The drydown smells like Black Cashmere meets Theorema. Does it get better than this?
