Michel - French Pear & Queen's Lilac

First impressions from the sample I have, it opens bit fruity and spicy, but the spice is not overwhelming or unpleasant, and it faded after a few minutes. I didn't get lilac at first, but after about 2 minutes it was a lovely light powdery floral. The lilac doesn't stand out as much as I thought it might, I'm getting rose and lilac about equally. It dries down to a fresh baby powder scent. It's a pleasant old fashioned powdery floral for spring and summer when you want something pretty and traditional. Many would probably say this is an "old lady" scent, but its in a nostalgic way, not in an overbearing way. It reminds me of visiting my grandparent's house in the woods with fresh cut lilacs and roses from the garden. The big negative is that it's probably overpriced for what it is. I'll enjoy the sample while I have it.

I wanted to like this so much. I love lilac and pear. Though I am getting weird powdery notes. wearing white gloves and squeezing something wet and strange. pear and pepper comes through strangely.

French Pear and Queen's Lilac smells lovely in the bottle, but that's the only nice thing there is to say about it. On skin, it doesn't last even 2 hours. I was hoping this was just my problem, but I had tested it on my room mate while watching Quest for Camelot, and by the time it was done in about 90 minutes, the perfume was almost gone for her too. This would not be so upsetting if we were just testing body-spray for children from Walmart, or even a cheaper designer fragrance, but Michel Germain is charging 405$ CAD for 100ml on their site at the time of writing, which is frankly robbery. Fortunately I did not spend that kind of money for this, all I had was only a sample from a monthly perfume subscription, but please avoid this. Don't even bother with a sample. French Pear and Queen's Lilac is a colossal waste of time and money.
