Sugarful

mouthwatering, sugary, sweet! a juicy strawberry cotton candy scent! one of the few perfumes my boyfriend immediately noticed and complimented me on. the opening smells how a strawberry sour belt or a strawberry sour punch straw tastes. the juiciness (prob the tangerine) does die down after a bit though, it’s more cozy smelling once it calms down. but it is very artificially sweet and sugary before that, which i love. for me, the longevity is ok! i could still smell it on my clothes after sleeping in it, but i do have a very sensitive nose. it didn’t last nearly as long at work while i was on my feet. it slowly faded away after 4-5 hours, but there was still a tiny scent bubble around me by the end of my shift (8 hrs). someone would probably need to hug you to smell it after that long if you’re running around a lot. i’m sure it would last longer if you over spray. even though there’s no bubblegum note, sugarful smells how i would imagine the song “bubblegum k.k.” from animal crossing smelling like if it were a perfume. it’s upbeat, fun, and cheerful <3 i did buy this online and it came packaged terribly, the top was off and some of it leaked all over the packaging and ruined the gift box it came in. luckily not too much of it had leaked out but it damaged the outside of the bottle, the silver paint (?) is peeling off the top of the bottle. i’d give this perfume a rating of 9.7/10. it makes me feel happy and bubbly whenever i wear it. it’s not particularly groundbreaking and it’s not super long lasting, but it’s perfect for someone like me who was looking for an everyday sweet scent that puts them in a good mood. more of a “just for you” scent if you want a guilty pleasure you can use everyday.

I ordered this soon after I found it on the Michel Germain site. I usually like anything alluding to "sugar," or "sweet," so I am super excited! It will look nice next to my Sexual Sugar, Pink Sugar, and Sweet Like Candy. 😍 Update 8/21/19: Finally got this beauty in the mail. The packaging is utterly darling-- a sugar dispenser-shaped bottle inside a box that looks like a pink, sparkly, old-fashioned "peppermint star" candy. Michel Germain serendipitously knows what I want! It's a "love." Sugarful immediately made me think "holy strawberry, Batman!" Imagine vividly fruity sliced strawberries drizzled with mandarin juice and the softest touch of cotton candy for garnish. There is a powdery softness from the peony, musk, and sandalwood that takes a bit of time to mesh harmoniously with my skin chemistry. I love peony done right (reminiscent of Mugler Angel EDT 2019). This is very much a gourmand fragrance, but manages to be fruity without being too acidic, tart, or sharp. Sugarful puts some Escada fragrances to shame. I detect the underlying "powdery" notes to have DNA from Sexual Sugar, but they are more like cousins than sisters. Sexual Sugar makes me crave Jordan almonds, while Sugarful makes me want a fruit smoothie. It's definitely a fragrance that makes you feel happy for summertime or anytime you want a blast of super sweet fruit. Update 7/16/22: Sprayed this again for a blast of strawberry on my wrist. I love how reminiscent it is of a yummy synthetic strawberry milkshake from a fast food place. Yummmm

Since I was a teenager, cotton candy has been one of my favorite perfume notes despite the fact that I’d ever only found the “perfect” cotton candy perfume in the form of a cheap Rue21 fragrance years ago (the discontinued RueRocks, which isn’t even listed on Fragrantica). Call me basic, call me childish, call me trashy or whatever else for loving the sweetest smells around—I really don’t care, because sometimes I just need to smell like the cotton candy booth at a carnival. Needless to say, when I saw the advertisement for Sugarful a while back, I didn’t hesitate to blind buy it, and once it arrived in the mail, I realized I’d found a new perfect cotton candy perfume. Yes, it opens with strawberries (which is totally beautiful), but once that dries down, all I detect is pure pink cotton candy. Sugarful is better than Pink Sugar, better than Body Fantasies Cotton Candy, better than any other perfume or body spray meant to emulate cotton candy. If you, like me, sometimes need to smell like the cotton candy booth at a carnival, this is the perfume for you. Performance is incredible for the price, and I say that this is a scent perfect for daytime wear all year round. I do think it could get cloying on a very hot summer day, which is why I’ve avoided wearing it in the extreme temperatures we’ve been seeing here, but once it cools down a bit I expect to be dousing myself in it. I really want to try Sugarful and Spice next, since I’m on the hunt for something a little spicy this fall and winter!

This is the perfume that piqued my interest in fragrances. I saw the ad on Facebook several times, and I caved. It was such a bubbly, cute, pink advertisement I feel like I already knew what I was in for and couldn't resist. A blind buy, I was blown awaaaaay!!!!! This is probably my favourite scent. It's got that sweet orange on the first spray that isn't too citrusy but then the cotton candy and strawberry come out heavy. I get such incredible nostalgia from this, it reminds me of those little cotton candy Invader Zim body sprays from Hot Topic that I had when I was in middle school. It lasts for a while on my skin, and for days on my clothes. It's ecstasy.. I literally bought Pink Sugar and (the knock off) Pink Kiss so I would have some cotton candy sprays to alternate between so I would not run out as I was GOING THROUGH THIS LIKE CRAZY! They don't really smell the same though, this is more fruity while the Pinks are more caramel and liquorice. (Still I recommend them if you like this!) I also ended up buying Sugarful and Spice as soon as it was released, and I'm obsessed with that too. Sexy and spicy cold weather perfume in contrast with this flirty and fun spring/summery chick. Both are so yummy. Amazing dry downs. Extremely impressed and satisfied with both of the "Sugarfuls" by Michel Germain!!

Gourmand lovers should take note of this one. I came across this today at Shoppers. It's a set comprised of the 100ml in an adorable vintage sugar dispenser you would find at an oldies diner and a bonus 10ml spray. I tried the tester and omg the strawberry-cotton candy is so vibrant and realistic. I've got Pink Sugar and it is not even close to this gem. Now, I love sweet perfumes so this one had me at hello. Those that don't, you will want to try a tester first. I got a bit of sandalwood at the beginning also and I thought it an odd combination but that is completely taken over in a half hour by the sugary strawberry and a hint of orange. It's not synthetic at all to me so as fruity and sweet as it is, it's not body spray-ish or cheap smelling. That's where it differs to Pink Sugar which is a bit synthetic. This is a really bold fragrance and so delicious! This next morning I can still smell it very clearly from several inches away from my hand where I had tested it. Excellent longevity. I'm very pleased with the value at $50. Also, about the bonus 10ml - on the package it says it's a spray but when I opened it at home I see it's a rollerball which is no issue for me.

If you like Pink Sugar- this is so much better! I love fruity gourmands, but I expected this one to be too sweet, with the notes and the name itself. On the contrary- it's a much cleaner, fresher, lighter cotton candy scent than any other I've tried! I will definitely rebuy this one when I run out. The cotton candy is ever-present throughout the duration of the scent, but the top notes are so yummy. The strawberry-citrus thing going on is very inviting. The dry down is cotton candy with a bit of musk, I can't really smell too much woodsiness. The peony is a nice touch- some floral for balance. It's a light scent, a lot less suffocating than Pink Sugar, but it's incredibly long lasting on my skin, I could smell it on me when I woke up the next morning! What a beautiful cotton candy scent. A great signature scent and it's very wearable for all seasons (citruses work great for the summer, but the cotton candy is a warmer note, which makes it great for the colder months). A keeper in my collection!

I purchased this for a really good price 2 months ago and I really like it. First of all, this definitely does not smell like pink sugar (I hate that perfume) I think the licorice note in that one is too strong to smell similar to sugarful. This perfume smells so sweet and yummy without being cloying. It smells like strawberry cotton candy and I am obsessed. I can agree though it’s a simple smell, kinda basic, not sophisticated or elegant, juvenile, and basically fine fragrance mist like, but I do not care I love it. I really do wish it had stronger projection though like it’s not a skin scent but almost and it’s worth noting longevity on my skin is like 4-5 hours. Not the worst but it’s 65$ so not something I personally want to buy full price. I do want it in my collection forever though. Overall if you want a perfume for layering/ if you like me love candy fruity scents I recommend trying because it’s not too synthetic smelling not too sweet, it’s just perfect. 8.5/10

This scent is so much fun! A perfectly sweet strawberry confection. At first I got cotton candy, then a prominent strawberry note, then a perfectly soft blend of the two. It's what I wanted Maison Margiela Funfair Evening to be when I tried it years ago. I also agree that it's very different than Pink Sugar. Pink Sugar leans tobacco-licorice on my skin and does not work for me. Compared to Body Shop strawberry or Bath and Body Works, Sugarful smells sophisticated and complex, even with its candyland heart. It's a thoughtful approach to what could have smelled like any generic,fruity body spray. I'm old enough to have given up eating candy years ago, but it's the next best thing. If this works with your skin chemistry, it's summer strawberries in a bottle. Edit: Pink peony on the drydown for me. Very pretty! So happy with the way this scent evolves on my skin - and lasts all day. One of the more moderately priced scents that I own but my new favourite. It's yummy!

I am in my swarthy 40s, and I LOVE this one!!! I am a fan of cotton candy as a note, and i have found that men like smelling that kind of scent on me, so i am encouraged to try sugary, girly fragrances. I find this fragrance on the youngish side, but not too juvenile for me to wear. The musk makes it more adult, and it is relatively light. I adore the sweet strawberry scent, which actually really surprises me. It is the best strawberry perfume I have ever smelled. It smells like a slightly musky, very feminine and flirty, strawberry shake. It is also great for Layering. I like it more than Pink Sugar, and I like Pink Sugar and it's variations. Michel Germain strikes me as a person whose target demographic is adult women who know what they want and aren't afraid to get it. That is me. And I want this perfume in my scent arsenal. I don't care if it appears like a perfume for teeny boppers. It is just lovely for this confident older woman.

For those looking for reviews on the newest Sugarful, these are the notes of Sugarful & Spice: TOP: Sparkling Blood Orange, Pink Peony MIDDLE: Sweet Pink Berries, Fresh Red Gingerlily HEART: Confident Modern Amber, Creamy Vanilla I love the original Sugarful so I was excited to try Sugarful & Spice out when I saw the tester in-store at Shoppers. Gorgeous! Same cute sugar dispenser bottle. It's fresh and fruity but with that spice it makes it really interesting. I thought it came off a bit niche even. After it settles, it does stay more on the sweet side with orange and berries, and it develops a really warm, creamy base with the amber and vanilla. Even though I need another perfume like a hole in the head, I had to buy it. It's going to be wonderful for the fall and winter and then I can switch back to the original Sugarful in the spring and summer where it really thrives.

I would compare this to Pink Sugar in the sense it's very sweet, it's got a sugary cotton candy note, and if you like Pink Sugar the odds are you'll like this too, but I wouldn't compare it to Pink Sugar in a "it's Pink Sugar BUT" sense. I really don't think it's trying to be Pink Sugar. They're both so sweet but they do it so differently. This is probably the most immature and childish fragrance I have, but I honestly like that about it. It makes me think of a galaxy themed playroom that plays CMA You're Free or something along those lines... That's the vibe it gives me, but what does it actually smell like? Very very sweet strawberries and cotton candy is the best way I can put it. As for the longevity and sillage, not amazing but certainly not bad. For me it lasts at least 6 hours, and it's not weak. I'd say it's really noticeable.

No folks, this is not Pink Sugar. Sexual Sugar absolutely was a Pink Sugar dupe for all intents and purposes, but Sugarful is in its own syrupy sweet league! It’s not burnt licorice, it’s almost more like molten sugar syrup with candied citrus peels floating around it. You get a hearty blast of super loud strawberry/citrus on the initial spray but it quickly lightens up to a more well rounded scent where the cotton candy gets a chance to talk and flirt with the peony. The woods are very very soft and sit nicely beneath all the bright sugared notes. It’s a fun playful yummy perfume, not to be taken seriously and not for the person who loathes smelling edible! Longevity is slightly disappointing but it’s not expensive so you can afford to respray throughout the day! Scent: 7/10 Sillage 5/10 Longevity 5/10

Oh it’s so lovely and fun! I feel like a Barbie wearing this. Others have said it smells like cotton candy, which is partly true, but the citrus is quite a bit more prominent than I expected, giving it a pink lemonade sparkle. It’s sharper than the traditional sugary perfumes and I’m planning on layering it with something coconutty with white flowers, maybe even tropical. I’m really excited to wear it this Valentine’s Day. I’m aware of the play-doh smell some are talking about but it’s only apparent on the first spray. If you let it rest on your skin, the smell will go away within 5 minutes and leave you with the gorgeous sweetness. I consider it very long lasting. Sweet perfumes always stick to me like crazy and this one is no different.

I've learned (from buying, then regretting too many pricey bottles) not to intellectualize fragrance. No matter how good or bad it sounds on paper, no matter how expensive or cheap, at the end of the day you either love it or you don't. Sugarful is one of those fragrances I tested on a whim at the drugstore and bought immediately because I loved it at first smell. It's such a pure sweet scent - makes me think of those rock candy sticks. Reminds me of Pink Sugar, yes, but softer, prettier. I love that it sits close to the skin, because it could easily get cloying otherwise. It's exactly what I'm craving during the long, cold Canadian winter. There's not much more to it than that, and that's perfectly fine with me. Love.

I only own this in the body mist, and I absolutely love it! It's very sweet, but it's a soft sweetness, not an in-your-face big loud sweetness. Everything about it is soft and delicate. The opening note is strawberry cotton candy, and the essential quality of the fragrance, the soft tiptoe way all the notes present themselves, is equally reminiscent of finely spun sugar. The woodsy and herbal base notes keep this from smelling like a little girl's perfume, and allow it to be paired with almost any other scent. I think it lasts longer than other body mists, but after an hour it's an intimate sweet skin scent. I'd definitely consider buying the perfume, because the bottle is so cute!

To me this sugarlicious lovely perfume smells wonderful especially for summer since it has the fruity, light, refreshing vibe. Above all its pure sugar candy with touches of grapefruit. Its wonderfully put together "YES" its not a favorite but close since it still has that cotton candy which I adore! I do not think its pink sugar or Delicious cotton candy (fav)... similar but not exact to Sexual Sugar tho but still recommend! Smells like a Strawberry creme candy!! OMG!! If you layer this with Choco musk by Al Rehab its so edible and delightful!!!!!! To die for...Its literally Sugarlicious Strawberry Cotton candy with chocolate vanilla undertones and lasts even longer.

Quite yummy!! It’s sugary and sweet but the orange keeps it in check, nice sweet rock candy with a twinge of orange, I’m also smelling a little bit of lotus Buiscuit but that’s probably just the woody note mixing with eachother, because of the orange it feels a little mature, not like overly so and I don’t personally subscribe to age limiting a fragrance but if you wanted something sweet and girly but slightly serious it would be a good choice, but it’s also passable as a girly fragrance if the contradiction makes sense, so far I’m finding the projections and longevity quite good!

I picked up the smaller bottle of this fragrance for the low in TJMAXX (after I read the notes of course) and I love it. I just does not last (I sprayed it on both skin and clothing), it is definitely a mood booster for me. When I'm feeling extra I layer it with Pink Sugar, Bath & Body Works Bubble Gum Pop & 4 Ever Sweet. I do not smell the sandalwood in this at all, but maybe that is just me. I definitely pickup the strawberry, tangerine and cotton candy notes. If you like sweet and or gourmand fragrances and do not care about longevity and or projection it is worth getting. 🍬🍭💕

i tested this scent out and i like it. i was in JCPenny and it happened to catch my eye! beautiful design, but it has a really nice fruity smell to it with an added caramel or something vanilla. it's nice and gourmand, and it does last, because i had that smell on me four hours after testing it lmao . IMO, this scent is like pink sugar once it wears down for 15-20 minutes, which if you have pink sugar you usually get that vanilla caramel fruity (cotton candy, very subtle) scent. i like this! i might buy it next time i go into JCPenny, however, i highly recommend it! 🫶🏾

This is a really yummy perfume! I expected more of a warm sugary scent right away but on me the initial spray smells like straight up rock candy or Nerds, more of a “cold” sugar if that makes sense. After 10 minutes or so, the warmth starts to come out and I definitely get more of that sugared strawberry, cotton candy type scent. The sillage is surprising to me, I didn’t expect this to project much but for me it does and it lasts for quite a few hours as well. Overall I would say if you’re looking for something fun, simple and sugary this is a great buy for you!
