Doraphilia

I believe this to be one of the best fragrances that I've ever smelled. I'm not one for being good at picking out a lot of notes, but to me this is about a duo of leather and moss. It's deep and fairly rich, it's bold but very well balanced. I love leather fragrances generally, but find moss to be quite boring when it's the main player. However in the right setting it smells great, and this is definitely the right setting for me. I've smelled all of Francesca Bianchi's output, and find this to be more agreeable than them all. Not necessarily more interesting as a curiosity, but more mass appealing I would thought anyway, that is until I saw the dislikes for this. I sincerely do not understand the hate for this at all. Miguel, you are a master in my nostrils at least. Keep going!

Leather aldehydes moss...and you're back in the 70's ! the sensitivity is contemporary but it is a magnificent tribute to a whole family of lost masterpieces. We recognize all the influences but it's as if the scents were mixed in mom's fur coat... sweet nostalgia

When i smelled it on the paper it really didn't like but on my skin it changed so much. More green with the flowers, moss and patchouli and the animalic notes that are a bit soapy in the beggining but as it dries, they becomes a little more wild. Yes, it's a vintage style fragrance and i usually don't love them but this one is an exception because of how excepcional it is.

Absolutely disgusting and horrible. Smells like an old and moldy leather couch topped by staled water and rotten flowers.

My wonderful Doraphilia just arrived and I must say I'm blown away. Of course, one has to have an acquired taste and love animalic and leather perfumes in order to fully appreciate this gem. Though even if one is not into the aforementioned notes, certainly one should be able to appreciate the great talent coupled with exceptional blending skills. Miguel has definitely succeeded in creating something that has a vintage feel with a modern twist. The sparkling aldehydes on top quickly followed by deep animalic facets evoke the "Roaring Twenties". The likes of Coco Chanel, Zelda Fitzgerald and Clara Bow come to mind. This is a true time journey in a bottle. This beautiful animalic leather further sweetened by a concoction of floral notes, creating a rainbow of flowers (and no, this is not a floral perfume). It seems that the pyramid is slightly inverted, whereby the base is trying to dominate the heart of the scent. This tension between the bitter animalic base and the vintage floral heart continues well into the drydown. The projection is well above moderate, only with two sprays. The longevity I still cannot comment on, given that it has been only two hours after application. I shall update this review in due course. Overall, I think Miguel's creations deserve more attention. They are unique, conceptually solid and incredibly well-priced for what you get. I look forward to familiarizing myself more with this house. Edit: The lasting power of this furry beast is equally beastly. 24 hours on my perfume-consuming skin and it was still projecting (approximately 2cm). The final stage is absolutely mesmerizing, given that the scent becomes powdery. The battle between the heart and the base notes is over, with the leather assuming softer, suede-like qualities. Magnificent!
