Fado Jasmim Special Edition

First of all, I'm very much looking forward to my order of Fado Jasmim. I was lucky enough to receive a preview sample from Miguel a few months ago with my previous order and ever since I've been waiting for its release. As with all Miguel's fragrances, the notes are irrelevant, since the end result is greater than the sum of its parts. Fado Jasmim is a beautiful oriental-leaning scent, that depicts an interplay between darkness and light. First, the lighter, smooth notes appear, namely, jasmin itself. The fruits are less noticeable and play a supporting role in the background. It's not a fruity scent by any means. It's very enveloping and sensual. Then the musks and the woodiness take over while jasmin and its floral companions fade into the background. It acquires more depth which counterbalances the floral notes. It's truly a beautiful scent. I was blown away when I first tested it. I couldn't believe how smooth it is. It also lasts a long time on the skin (even after a shower). The projection is out of this world. Congratulations, Miguel!

How do you translate music-turned-melancholy into a fragrance? Exactly like this: sensual blossoms, epicurean fruits, erotic animalism, and all in a minor key. I can just hear Amalia Rodrigues - great!!! However, you should like jasmine.

Fado Jasmin smells to me like an antibiotic I used to have as a child, and I mean that as a compliment. It starts with a punch of a very indolic and fruity jasmine. After some minutes I sense a clean note that blends perfectly with the indolic, fruity concoction and stays like that for several hours. I don’t find anything melancholic here, maybe the nostalgia of an old medicine but nothing that reminds me of fados. Anyway, it’s a very sensual and beautiful perfume. Longevity and projection are both terrific.
