Munlark Ash

I really adore this fragrance and bought a bottle on first sniff. Munlark Ash is a fantastic blend of Australian blue cypress, fir, and cedar. It has this 'ashy' undertone without it being smoky or overwhelming at all. Imagine camping in the Aussie bush, with remnants of a long burnt-out campfire in the background. It's so calming and evocative. I think it's very much a unisex scent, though some might think it leans towards masculine. The longevity is fantastic, and the sillage is good but not overpowering.

Essentially in the same realm as Encre Noire, but more natural, ashier and smokier, with greater depth. It evokes the essence of crackling wood fire, pencil shavings and damp vetiver. Deep, dark, and sophisticated.

Opening is nice with this one: a shot of pepper, followed by smoky woods. I can see the “camping in the forest” inspiration (although I get less cypress and more “generic” wood). However, on my skin it’s totally gone within 90 minutes. A shame.

Clasic fougere smell. Woody cypress, hints of citrus. Strong, medicinal and clean smell. This smells exactly like a particular brand of wet wipes that my mother always carry in her bag and she always force me to wash my hands with them. Nostalgic for me, but I don't want to smell like a wet wipe lol.

This is gorgeous for the first hour, even two. Warm and beautiful. Very creamy and sandalwood-y even though it isn't listed as one of the notes... till it starts veering towards and dries down to a cheap cologne scent.

it was so promising on paper!!! but on the skin it was giving hiking with sunscreen.

Really good offering from the house, in the same vein as Sycomore and encre noire, more abstract, more natural, more ashy, more distant. , but in my collection, feels redundant and I am taking my collection in a different direction. Looking to swap an almost full bottle in EU. Cheers!

Stunning perfume, balances the freshness with a deep smokiness. Adore. Down for a daily wear - great price.
