Panettone

Panettone encapsulates the Christmas season and aromas in a medium royal blue bottle. It’s such a warm and gourmand fragrance with a photorealistic candied orange and freshly baked sweet dough evoking the sweet, warm smell from a kitchen when something delicious, like panettone, is baking in the oven. It’s amazing how well the nose managed to capture the panettone smell in this fragrance and it is still smelling like a fine fragrance. Panettone is a very dense gourmand scent without being saccharine sweet or overly edible. It reaches the perfect sweet spot without becoming an immature or cheap smelling scent. The first thing that I noticed when spraying Panettone was a very delectable bitter orange candied soaked in rum overnight, a mildly spicy ginger and something else unique that must be the carrot seeds. Very distinctive opening. Can’t say that I perceive the floral notes listed very distinctive but the combination of marigold and immortelle flowers makes this smell very appealing and gives it contrast. I have met this combo in another thick, delightful gourmand scent from Amouage and I suspect that these two flowers work magically together in here as well. Smelling Panettone after about an hour it reminded me instantly of that fragrance. These two fragrances don’t smell the same, but that two flowers combo creates a very specific, particular smell. There’s a bit of aromatic, herbaceous, balsamic feel mixed into all these delicious and edible notes coming from the davana and the marigold flower. A heavy dose of moderately sweet vanilla in the base rounds up the whole composition. The performance of Panettone is quite decent, nothing impressive just kind of average. Moderate sillage but it lasts decently, around 6-8 hours on clothing. Panettone represents to me such a well balanced blend of notes that results in the most delicious, mouth watering, realistic smelling panettone desert. For an over the top luxurious and 100% gourmand experience I will be layering this with Interlude by Amouage for wear on Christmas Day. It’s gonna be epic!

Panettone comes from Milano Fragranze, a niche fragrance house dedicated to capturing the essence of Milan through olfactory storytelling. This particular creation was developed by the same perfumer who created Gris Charnel for BDK... The star of the show here is bitter orange, which confidently persists throughout all stages of the fragrance. It’s accompanied by a subtle ginger and a standout buckwheat note, giving the composition a textured, cozy edge. Vanilla makes an appearance too - not cloying or overly sweet, but more like by adding depth without stealing the spotlight. The resulting combination is a remarkably realistic portrayal of a freshly baked high-end panettone from a pasticceria. And as an Italian who's lived in Milan and indulged in plenty of authentic panettone, I can confirm: they’ve nailed it. I first tried Panettone a few months ago when I received a sample. Even with just one spray on my hand, the scent lingered for nearly the entire day. That performance (and the scent) convinced me it was worth a full bottle. Yesterday, I finally got it, and let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. This morning, I sprayed it at 7:30 AM, and 12 hours later, it was still projecting at arm's length. For a gourmand fragrance, good projection is not uncommon, but Panettone will keep radiating for hours. Milano Fragranze doesn’t just excel in scent but in presentation too. The blu Savoia (a colour associated with Milan) bottle is elegant, with a magnetic cap and a pressurized sprayer that delivers an even mist. For a niche fragrance, the pricing is reasonable, making this a good value for its quality. Panettone is a perfectly unisex gourmand that manages to be both unique and versatile. If you’re a fan of edible fragrances or just want something that doesn’t smell like everything else out there, this one deserves your attention. 10/10 – Perfetto!

Sweet, Holiday, Bakery-Fresh Panettone in a Perfume... Softly spicy, powdery-sweet, boozy, bakery aroma, bread-y, non-lactonic, powdery, ginger, a hint of cinnamon?, candied orange-peel, unique, rum cake, wheat (or buckwheat I guess)... On one hand, it smells like photo-realistic panettone, and I might be the only one but yet it also smells like perfume to me. I appreciate that there's nothing harsh lurking here. I especially like the wheat/buckwheat scent that I've smelt in some Demeter gourmand fragrances, only here there's great performance. This doesn't smell exactly like any perfume I've tested before, although there are passing reminders for me of scents I'll compare below. Although I like sweet scents, there are a few that are too sweet for me, but this one I like. That being said, if you like sweet scents, and you like photo-realistic sweet gourmands you will probably like this one too. This reads "Holidays" to me, but I agree with reviewer below that it's also autumnal. Love it. Enjoy! Contrast to Ginger Cookie Demeter: These are different, although there's similarities with a ginger-y baked good smell. Ginger Cookie doesn't have the citus notes present in Panettone. Panettone has much stronger performance. Contrast to 1740 Histoires de Parfums: These are different, but there are similarities with davana, immortelle & booziness. 1740 is more leather forward, while Panettone has more citrus forward and is gourmand, although they'd probably layer well. Both have excellent performance. Contrast to Five O'Clock Au Gingembre Serge Lutens: These are different, although there are similarities with a sweet ginger-y smell. Five O'Clock leans more masculine-unisex and has patchouli in the base, while Panettone is sweeter and has citrus & baked goods accords more forward. both have excellent performance.

A month before I got this, I was eating panettone and wishing there was a way to bottle that heady scent you get when you open a box of it. One sample purchase later, I am blown away by how perfectly they recreated the smell! Immediate strong rum and candied orange-- in fact, my first impression was that the scent was a little *too* cloying, the candied fruit kind of smacking me in the face and drowning everything else out. But never fear, after half an hour I started to get some of the bready, vanillic base notes that really anchor the scent. After that I was more and more thrilled with the just-out-of-the-bakery scent that kept floating up from my wrist, so warm and cozy and indulgent and holiday-y. I was even more happy when, after a full night's sleep, my wrist and pajama sleeve still smelled of the incredible cozy drydown, vanilla and bakery and something deeper that might be the florals coming in (though this is definitely not what I'd call a floral scent!). The opening is exciting and technically correct but the drydown close to the skin is my favorite part. I'm sad I only bought this after the new year, it's a cold-weather, pre-holidays scent for sure. I can't really see myself wearing it out-- but boy, am I gonna enjoy spraying it on a night in!

This is the most delicious, scrumptious, and realistic smelling gourmand ever! When I first sprayed it I was pleasantly surprised by how accurately this mimics the scent of a real freshly baked Panettone. 🍊🍦🍰 It is sweet, buttery, and has a strong dried fruit base. The dried fruit smells like sweet candied orange and sweet candied ginger. Although it is very sweet and delicious, you get a bit of spice from the ginger which gives it a nice kick and keeps it from getting too sweet. You can also definitely smell the buttery bready texture in this fragrance. I am in LOVE with it and if you love Panettone like me then you should run and try this gorgeous fragrance. I think every gourmand lover will adore this but if you are not a fan of sweet gourmands then I don’t think you would enjoy it, but then again why purchase a fragrance with the name Panettone if you don’t love gourmands😅 I find it long lasting on my skin with moderate sillage. Also I would reccomend this for winter and fall because it could definitely be too thick and heavy for the summertime. Overall, if you are searching for a spot on Panettone scent then this is perfect! I must add the bottle is luxe and gorgeous with a magnetic lid.

This is my first year living in the US after many years in Europe and I MISS panettone. So, when I saw this fragrance, I knew I must try this. For me, it is (almost) photorealistic panettone. It takes me back to days spent having dinner with friends, before everyone leaves for their holidays (the Italians, for at least a month). We are sitting around baking cookies and shoving them into little decorated baggies with gold ties for Christmas presents. This immediately hits me with Christmas spices - cinnamon, cloves, ginger, orange. And what is, for me, very impressive is I actually can smell the bread, even on the dry down. It has been in my experience VERY hard to get notes like bread or buckwheat to come through and this perfume manages. It remains complex and just like I smelled it fresh out of the bottle. It is somehow gourmand and edible, but not overtly so or sickingly so. The spices and orange tamp it down to keep it very wearable. Sillage is pretty moderate and longevity is good (4-5 hours). This is a 9/10 and I am definitely buying a bottle. Very nostalgic in the best way possible

Panettone was a blind buy for me. I love eating panettone at Christmas time with the Italian side of my family -- so considering that and the great reviews, I knew it would be a safe blind buy for me. I love this fragrance. It is a gourmand, but not obviously so. I don't feel like I am walking around smelling like Christmas bread -- so if you are worried about that, you don't have to be. It is a comforting, warm citrus scent. And to me, the heavy citrus makes Panettone suitable to wear in all seasons. The opening is sweet and syrupy, which I enjoy, but that calms down quite quickly, and I am left with a soft rummy orange rind. I do top up this scent a few times throughout the day -- mostly because I love to experience the opening. I do wish it lasted and projected a little longer, but I don't mind carrying around an atomiser. I think this may even be signature scent worthy for me. UPDATE: Layering with Iso E Super (not Molecule 1, a more affordable version from Etsy) increases the longevity by 2ish hours.

I'm not even sure I can fully express how much I love this perfume. I burned through a decant over the holidays last year, and haven't been able to stop thinking about it - finally purchased a full bottle. You can get this pretty reasonably priced, but I would still try before you buy. I don't think it appeals to everyone. Highly gourmand - but a different kind of gourmand. Really well done citrus, slightly boozy, some vanilla (but not this highly overdone, sticky caramel type). Perfect for cooler weather, although I wouldn't attempt it in the Spring and especially not in high heat. Endless compliments when I wore it, and I literally sigh every time I sniff the atomizer. This, to me, is gourmand perfection. Still highly unique yet wearable. And yes to me it does smell very reminiscent the best possible, most delicious panettone - but an interpretation of all the most delicious elements, in perfume form. Endless love for this.

I recently revisted my small vial of Panettone because I thought it would be a fitting scent for the holidays. I can appreciate the art behind a hyperrealistic gourmand but I typically don't want to smell like a piece of cake or vanilla ice cream. I remembered enjoying this cent, but this time around, I was blown away by how wearable it is. Panettone is so delightful—it is a bracing, aromatic candied citrus peel with a slight booziness and sweet, yeasted quality. Contrary to what some other commenters are saying, this is one of the rare gourmands that doesn't smell like a Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar flanker or Yankee Candle. I love how conceptual but realistic this scent is—it truly captures the essence of Christmas panettone but also takes some creative liberties with davana, carrot seed, ginger, and even...buckwheat? This is definitely full bottle worthy for me!

It really does smell like Panettone but more so in the air. Up close it reminds me of Mancera Amore Caffe, both having the a gingery, cinnamon-y or festive spices candle kind of a vibe. Very delicate scent (as in elegant, not weak, sprayed it at 18 last evening, can still smell it on my skin at 8:30 in the morning, gave me occasional wafts throughout the wear in the air, so it projects all right) and I can see why people could consider this a tad more feminine. It does have a slight reminiscence of a usual feminine gourmand, however it has a very realistic scent of what it is claiming to smell like. So If you love gourmands, you could find it perfectly unisex as I do. Don't know about pricing in other countries, but where I live it goes around or below average designer prices, for which I consider it a great value fragrance.

I originally got this as a sample with my purchase of Love & Crime from LuckyScent. I love gourmand-y/bakery scents, as I am a baker and vanilla is my forever go-to. I was a little hesitant at first because like other reviews mentioned, it's a bit of a smack in the face, and almost too boozy/sweet, but WAIT. The dry down is OMG delicious! This is definitely a holiday or cold weather scent. This will be too much in warmer months. And the staying power was pretty impressive. I washed my hands several times and could still smell it on my wrists. I won't be purchasing a bottle right now since we are headed into Spring, but it is on my wish list for the next holiday season. If you are looking for something comforting, warm, slightly fruity and sweet, and absolutely unique, this is right up your alley. Highly recommend!

A beautifully grainy and wheaty loaf of festive sweet bread. This opens with the combination of candied orange rinds and a freshly zingy ginger. I’m regularly a ginger hater but this one feels aromatic and fresh vs herbal and medicinal. As the scent develops you get a prominent immortelle note that has that unmistakable honeyed hay like sweetness, paired with a hint of booziness from the rum. Dry down really brings out that breadiness full swing with a sweet graininess to it, even a malty touch considering the booze. It’s warm, sweet, bready to the T, and still feels fresh and light bc of the immortelle and ginger. Just a gorgeous gourmand that doesn’t feel redundant in a world of too many citrus gourmands.

Panettone in a bottle. Candied fruits and sweet bread to the letter! In all honestly, I'd rather wait for Christmastime to eat a fresh panettone than smell like one, but if you DO want to smell like it, this is a gourmand gem for you. A novelty. I am definitely getting the most out of orange, buckwheat, and carrot seeds. Trailing behind are the vanilla and rum. All the notes are delivering to create this traditional baked perfection. I'm impressed! My critique is that they should have made the bread accord more prominent than the obnoxious orange zest, because it starts to take over and is a bit unbalanced. Barely lasts on clothes at all, but works much better on skin.

I can confirm that this smells like panettone. I live next to Italy and just had panettone and I cannot believe they really managed to copy the scent. This is sweet (sugary sweet) pastery orange scent, when it starts to dry down it morphs to wine mule scent and eventually dry down to buckwheat. I can smell the pastery crust during initial scent. It is literal gourmand. The only downside is that you need to overspray for projection and it stays closer to skin BUT it stayed on my clothes for 24 hrs. Its very unique perfume and I am glad to have this in my collection. They should make an Italian espresso to pair with this and it would make perfect Italian breakfast :-D

Absolutely gorgeous festive winter scent. This one is special and I only use it in December, but I love coming back to it from time to time and just smell it while staying home. It is a big bold cake with dried fruits, some alcohol added and sugar frosting on top. The candied lemon zest and realistic dough / bread notes keep me hooked every time. Panettone is very sweet, but not cheap smelling, the quality can be felt. Also, it is so true to its inspiration that I believe it might not appeal to people (especially the younger ones) who appreciate 'classic' gourmands with caramel and chocolate more.

In apertura: arancia amara, rum barricato e semi di carota! In asciugatura si evolve in un dolce strudel fatto però con un impasto di GRANO SARACENO, vero PROTAGONISTA della fragranza -che predomina dall’inizio alla fine- e leggerissimo sentore di cannella. E’ un profumo molto particolare- il grano saraceno l’ho ritrovato solo in Il Était Un Bois di L'Artisan Parfumeur( molto meno spinto) - UNICO nel suo genere! This is my favourite winter perfume and a true staple for the colder months for me. It's an extremely gourmand scent, but for me doesn't exactly replicate the scent of panettone, as opposed to the vibe of it. I find on my skin it's incredibly sweet and boozy, almost like an orange mulled wine which, for me, is incredibly reminiscent of winter holiday dinner party. I can't imagine wearing this as anything other than a winter scent though. It's quite rich and intricate, and the notes to me would be far too heavy and gourmand for even the fall, let alone spring or summer.

I keep spraying this because I’m in love with the opening. It’s that bitter candied orange with rum and a spiciness. So yummy and very “holidays” for sure. Then it starts to dry down and the orange fades. You are left with that vanilla and buckwheat which smells like a generic gourmand nothing specific just a sweet foodie smell. I’ve already gotten a compliment on it and I do really like it I just wish the orange lasted longer. Will be perfect around Christmas time but I will still wear it in the fall. All in all I am happy with my blind buy. Yum!

This perfume is beautiful. I was afraid I might not like it, but I trusted the nose behind it too much and blind bought it: bull's eye! This is Christmas in a bottle! Candied orange and yeasty cozyness, not too sweet. It's Wheaty like most of Bijaoui's creations for the Jo Malone's English Fields line, so if you like those fragrances and imagine them with added ginger cookies spiciness, you might love this. It doesn't project too much, more at an arm"s length, and stays for 6-8 hours. Absolutely full bottle worthy. One of my favourites so far ❤️

I love panettone and eat my share of it every Christmastime. That being said, unlike many of the other reviews I DON'T find this to be too literal of a gourmand fragrance. It only has a hint of something pastry/bread-like, but is mostly bitter orange and ginger with some boozy sweetness from the rum and vanilla. I actually find this relatively fresh and unisex, and suitable for various seasons. (I recently tested Snif's Naughty Nonna and that one is much warmer and more gourmand to my nose)

This perfume is soooooo good! It’s definitely a Christmas winter fragrance and for me it’s perfect for around Christmas time. It smells amazing and I was surprised because I usually don’t really like spicy scents but this does it in the best way. It is a super unique fragrance that smells so good! I will definitely be buying a full bottle. I would not blind buy this one though since it is a unique scent I would definitely recommend to get a sample before

Sooo good! Panettone opens very gourmand but dries down to a wonderful, addictive warm and sweet magic. At first there is this cakey bakey feeling to it, but it transforms into a sensual, warm, fruity scent which is so wonderful, it quickly became a favourite of mine this fall. There is a holiday vibe to it, but it's super wearable, I enjoy wearing it to the office as well. Words can't do it justice.I am clearly a fan of Mathilde Bijaoui.

You can give me this beauty over Xerjoff's Italica any day, and I say that with no disrespect as an avid Xerjoff fan. I will be wearing my bottle of Panettone a lot over the Christmas season. It is utterly divine! The perfect Winter gourmand for me. The only problem I have is getting weird looks from people because I spend an inordinate amount of time burying my nose in my wrist. Unisex and long-lasting with moderate silage.

this fragrance is so yummy. it really is a perfect gourmand because it smells like baked goods but not in an unnatural way - it's as if you were just baking a cake. its very forward with the orange and has the backdrop of warm spices. I've found myself wanting to wear it all the time. it definitely leans more intimate/doesn't leave a trail, but i don't mind that. to me the only downside is that it doesn't wear very long.

Immediately upon receiving, I sprayed this on my arm. I'm unable to tell you any other details because I ate my arm off. They did an awesome job on recreating a Panettone - bottom line this smells YUMM! This fragrance is the perfect gourmand (Not super kiddie sweet, not girly sweet, not sugar, or frosting sweet but refreshingly semi-sweet). LOVE NOM NOM NOM

I can confirm it does indeed smell of panettone. Or if you’ve ever had the Christmas bread in the Netherlands with the paste inside that you spread over the fruity bread - it smells exactly of that. I actually love it. It is very, very sweet, but doesn’t smell too sweet to me - it’s definitely a more bakery sweet and not like a Britney Spears fantasy type.

It is a mistake to wear this when you are skipping meals. It smells sooo good. Man, I’m hungry. It’s creamy sweetened bread with candied orange to me. Kind of like a fruitcake but less dense and not so many kinds of fruit. Hint of ginger. Sillage starts off strong but quickly dies down and you are going nooo come back... overspray on this one

THIS WAS A SUCCESSFUL BLIND BUY and I love it! This was an instant favorite. At first spray, you'll get the citrus candied oranges and ginger. Then it warms up, and you'll get the vanilla... It's sweet and bready - really like panettone bread. I used this every day last December. Absolutely comforting and smells like Christmas.

I absolutely love this and get the orange and ginger quite well. To me, this is not a straight-ahead gourmand and the fresher notes make this something other than "bready." I've re-sprayed this 3 times today because I can't get enough. It lasts really well, so there really wasn't a need to re-spray...I just love it that much.

Mathilde Bijaoui is a genius. This smells exactly like panettone, and a little like the leftover king cake i'm about to eat today. It has a gorgeously yeasty opening and an impressionistic pastry note sticks around. A lot of orange and ginger and rum. A must try for the gourmand lover. I'm over the moon about this one!

Ugh, I love this in ways I cannot even put into words. It’s absolutely delicious and completely photorealistic. It smells just like a panettone. The candied orange is really vibrant, the bread-y undertone and rum are present and it’s just so rich and dessert-like. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves gourmands.

Excellent take on the Italian Christmas cake. The opening is citron and vanilla, but the dry down is annisette and pastry...maybe some toasty wood. It projects, but not too much. It’s realistic and very sweet, but sophisticated. It smells like an old-fashion Italian Brooklyn bakery. Very special.

This smells exactly like panettone in all of its Christmas-y glory. My husband and daughter apparently don't have the positive associations I have with panettone because they both hate it 😭 If it weren't for that, I would probably put this on my wishlist because the bottle looks gorgeous!

Wow this is exactly spot on a penettone. I don’t know if I would wear this but I love my little tester. I like to smell it from time to time because it makes me giggle especially in months leading up to Christmas. Definitely try before purchasing, because it not a typical gourmand scent.

I'm reviewing this on Christmas Eve... And it's awesome! Perfect holiday scent! Amazing, beautiful panettone scent. I smell all the panettone facets and notes... I get dried fruits/citrus, baked sweet bread/cake, vanilla, sugar, rum, buttery notes and a touch of spice. Perfect!

@Missogi: Sorry to hear you didn't like your sample - perhaps it had turned somewhat 🤔 I'm now on my second bottle and I absolutely adore it and find it very realistic. Not everyone can like everything, that would be just weird - we like what we like and hate what we don't 🙂

Oh i love this. You do get the panettone notes but it is not overly realistic. I thought this was going to be much heavier with more bread. It is yummy and very enjoyable. Lasting power isn't the greatest but you can pick this up for a reasonable price and it is worth it.

I get an initial blast of sweet oranges and the dry down is a sweet bready or cookie smell. Not too sweet, which I appreciate. I get a touch of rum for depth. I really enjoy this but it was gone in two hours. Not sure I would purchase for its lack of longevity.

I love this sooooo much. It's giving Winter of 99 by Kerosene a run for its money for my favorite sweet, comforting gourmand winter fragrance. It is absurdly realistic to its namesake, I get the scent of yeasted bread, vanilla, butter and bitter candied peel.

I love this fragrance. Gourmand but not sickly sweet. I get a candied bitter orange with vanilla and some rum. Slightly bready but in a very wearable way that’s not too literal. Huge compliment getter! Good performance (great silage longevity and projection)

I love this so much. Really really good if you like gourmand and spices. Very well done. Great layered with Sweetly Known by kerosene. It's my cozy, curl up in bed and have the sweetest of dreams scent. Hot drinks fireplace and snowy trees - ultimate hygge!

This is a scary realistic representation of panettone. It has so much depth and character to it. It smells like comfort, winter and spending time with family. I would spray this all over my house during Christmas time. I love it.

I've finally found my perfect gourmand. This smells exactly like panettone - warm, yeasty, syrupy, and spicy. My mouth waters when I smell it on my skin. I can't imagine a better scent to wear during the winter holiday season.

Panettone in a perfume! This wonderful fragrance smells like boozy, sweet bread with candied orange peel and dried fruits. Good silage and longevity. The perfect fragrance for Christmas.

This smells so delicious! I was wowed from the first sniff. It's the mix of orange and baked goods plays so well with the rum note. I love this and will be ordering a full size soon.
