Mouj Affection

I do not have nor have I ever smelled Amouage Reflection, but Mouj Affection is one of my favorites. It has a fresh, soapy quality. When I sniff the cap now, after a year of owning it, the grape smell is forefront. My guess is this is methyl anthranilate. That molecule is in a fair share of my fragrance made in the UAE (like Amaran Oxana Rouge, a very sweet BR540 clone). Performance is strong. Possibly a little heavy in the Summer heat but good year-round otherwise. This is suited for day and appropriate for work. I view it as unisex but the strength lends itself to the trend of men wearing assertive scents.

Ridiculously good scent for the price! It's my go-to and I pray I find it in the wild again one day. It's very spicy, warm, yet my wife says she finds it clean too. She sometimes steals it from me, so it certainly has the unisex appeal. The projection is a bit ridiculous too; when I tried it in the store, it filled the car when we left, which is part of why I ran back to buy it! Also just really love the scent. It's mature, it functions well in colder weather. It's life is about 3-6 hours, sometimes longer on me. It dries down a lot sweeter, in a honeyed way. For $15 you can't do better!

Heard that TJMaxx had Amouage dupes which got me curious as I have Reflection & Interlude. This of course it's not a one-to-one reproduction but it hits a lot of the same notes reflection however does have a little bit more body and depth going on at but this is an amazing everyday wear

It's exactly as described above, but I'd have been hard pressed to describe it. It's a unique fragrance, a smooth unisex, slightly masculine-leaning floral. Fresh, woody. I think I know where it's going and then it takes a turn and another note steps forward for a moment in the spotlight. There's a very faint underlying sweetness that feels like it's from a raw or dark vanilla, though it's not listed. This is elegant, refined, balanced. If you like this DNA, it's definitely worth trying.

I have this for a couple of month now, Not groundbreaking but I like it. It feels classic, barbershop "Sculptor/Bogart pour homme/Silver Scent " style. It's so strong, as I can smell it 8-9 hours later.

This is a dupe of Amouage Reflection, but personally i liked this one on my skin better!

Nose Note #609 Well, finally. I wanted to try this super cheapy for so long. I've found it for only $9!!! And oh man, is it worth that money. It doesn't smell cheap in any way. The closest thing that I've smelled was probably Gucci Guilty Elixir which is an abomination that stands no chance against this. Gucci may be stronger, but I cannot stand the scent. This performance-wise is just OK. I expected it to be much worse, but it's just like a good designer - maybe slightly above average. Not bad at all, it's not weak. The scent itself, well... I don't like it that much. I thought I was going to like it, but no. It's kind of strange. It's not very masculine, but I wouldn't call it unisex either. I can't see how a woman would wear this. So the reason why I dislike it a little is probably because it's just very difficult for me to categorize it in my mind and thus when I'm wearing it, and I've given it 4-5 times, I had a constant mental conflict. In one way it's like a floral heavy mens fougeres from the 00s like Mugler Cologne, but in another way it's strangely sweet, like flower-sweet - it must be jasmine, which is not typical and not macsuline at all. It's like Amouage Crimson Rocks that doesn't feel very feminine, despite being marketed as such. So, it's a unique scent, special and at the same time weird. It's not in any way bad, it fits the general direction of an Amouage fragrance by being a complex that you may not like, but you understand you have to appreciate. Did Milestone do another amazing job? Yes, they did. Is it worth the money? Absolutely. Is it for everyone? No. Blind-buying? You may, but expect that you will need some time acquiring a taste for it. UPD: I bought a sample of the OG. I like the OG much better, but Mouj Affection ultimately gives you very very similar experience. The smell is about 80-85%, but for me personally it's lacking the best part of the OG - the pungency and the very subtle coca-cola vibe - there's very little of that in Affection. I didn't like Affection from the start, it felt very neroli and not much else. The OG is much richer and longer-lasting. Affection just doesn't last very much. Bond #9 Lafayette Street is sort of similar to Reflection DNA. 7.5/10, interesting and reminds me a lot of something from distant past, but I don't know what 7/10, lowering the score UPD after a year. OK, underwhelming performance. DNA is there, but perhaps 80%. Not a substitute for Reflection Man.

It has the same notes as Reflection but with different weights attached to them, so while it's clearly going for the same profile it ends up being like looking at yourself in a very old mirror, where your appearance is slightly distorted. That said, it's perfectly fine and good if you like this scent profile. For me both Affection and Reflection are a bit too abstract. They feel like something is missing. Like the scent immediately goes into the dry down and they forgot to put top notes in. It smells like the X-Ray of a fragrance, where you see the underlying structure but miss out on all the surrounding bits that would normally fill it out. But for all that, I can't call it bad. It's a good fragrance, both this one and its inspiration. But it's a fragrance my brain doesn't understand.

It's ok, I like it, but Khadlaj Shiyaaka is much better at what these clones are trying to do. I see no reason to get this while Shiyaaka exists at the same price range. Update: 2 hours in and the dry down gives off a vinegar/pickle smell. I don't like it anymore
