#1 (For You) Parfum Trouvé

This perfume, while being simple, certainly possesses a wow-factor, at least to my nose. It's very warm and powdery to the extent of fluffiness, it's strong, but also silky soft. It's very feminine, smooth, but still has an "evil" twist: the spiciness of it is very special, I have never encountered such a harmonious hint of spice in a powdery perfume. I feel mainly the spice, iris and ylang ylang with musk in the opening, after that the spice becomes softer and softer, and after an hour unfolds a very fresh, sweet lily. Powdery sandalwood is in the background, too. Edit: I have just sprayed Femenite du Bois on one wrist and Parfum Trouve on another. Well, these fragrances smell extremely similar, if not the same, in the opening. PT is a bit spicier. Later on, they start to go in different directions. FdB is sweeter and fruitier (the plum note is quite intense), and more dressy. PT is more floral (fresh and naturally sweet lily), and a bit less complex. I would say that PT is indeed more wearable. As much as I like FdB, sometimes I get a weird animalic note from it. I'll put it like this: if you are into plum and cinnamon, go for Serge Lutens. If you are more of a floral person, then M&B is a better choice.

For You takes spices that can be overbearing like cumin, cardamom and cinnamon, and puts them in a soft fluffy cloud. I agree with Msgreenpebble that this scent has an intelligent and wearable grace. You can spray it liberally and never feel overdone. To address the FbD references - I’m not a big fan of that fragrance, which is much too sweet and fruity for me. For You softens up the spices with chutney and iris instead of plum which tends to dominate any fragrance it's in IMO. I bought the large size (the only size?) from Aedes, and it comes in an elegant box tied with a twig, like something you would see in an expensive rustic wedding from ten years ago. You can see in the photo a little red dot - this is not part of the bottle, there is actually a red jelly floating in there. Absolute perfection from bottle to scent.

Unfortunately I don't know Shiseido's FdB, but I know Dolce Vita and Poeme and I feel them and Parfum Trouve similar. (And I find Chopard Casmir similar to DV, too, but to Poeme and Parfum Trouve not...My nose is a big liar:)!) For me they differ only very slightly. Dolce Vita has the southern temperament, Poeme the French archness... and I think, Parfum Trouve is like a 'Poeme Summer' or 'Dolce Vita Summer' edition. I can say, I like this one the best. It's spicy at first, but slowly turns into a floral-musky-woodsy-soapy scent, lingering with nice but not into-your-face sillage for hours. Good job, M&B! UPDATE: I tried FdB and yes, it's similar, but more serious, to me PT is more likeable for everyday use.

Wow! Totally feminine, warm, spicy and mildly sweet. It's so delicate in its own way, It just feels like a luxurious upgrade of your skin. I get chutney and spices and ylang-ylang, and the combination is perfect. Reminded me a lot of Guerlain's Aroma Allegoria Vitalising,yet it smells even better. It's very long lasting yet the sillage is moderate - just perfect for me. UPDATE - Layered with Demeter's "Macademia Nut", it creates a really nice combination. Highly recommended for layering :)

Oh, how I love this perfume! It's one of my all time favourites that I never get tired of. It's a softer, milder and more wearable version of Feminite du Bois. I get mainly plum and soft woods on my skin. Someone described it quietly stunning and that's just what it is. It's calming, comforting and sexy at the same time.

It doesn’t lean masculine or feminine, it simply adapts to the wearer. What makes this fragrance even more interesting is the brand behind it. Miller et Bertaux didn’t start in perfumery, they were artists and designers first, running a boutique in Paris where they mixed clothing, objects, and artistic expression inspired by their travels. Their move into fragrance came later, and you can feel that approach here: this isn’t a “constructed” perfume in the traditional sense, but more like an atmosphere, almost a personal space translated into scent. That artistic background explains why this feels so different. Their philosophy is closer to creating “fragrances for body and soul,” often poetic, minimal, and intentionally free of gender labels. And that’s exactly what you get here: something introspective, not designed to please everyone. In terms of use, it’s not ideal for peak summer heat. It can feel a bit too enveloping when temperatures rise. But in cooler mornings, transitional seasons, or mild weather, it works beautifully. Early summer mornings, when there’s still a bit of freshness in the air, are actually a perfect fit. Performance is moderate, it stays relatively close but leaves a refined, noticeable trail without ever becoming intrusive. Overall, this is not a typical crowd-pleaser. It’s more personal, more introspective , and that’s precisely where its originality lies. A fragrance for those who value subtlety, mood, and character over projection and impact.

I think this is my favorite of the Miller & Bertaux I’ve smelled so far. It’s lightly spicy (I’d guess cardamom) and tangy-fruity exactly like mango chutney, with a plush, creamy-spicy-sweet floral base that reminds me of Kiehl’s Musk, another lily-heavy woody musk. It’s a fancy-soap smell, a smell of being welcomed into a mansion for a dinner party, with all the fine coats being swept up in the closet and snow being dusted off the boots in the hallway, and something hot on the stove and giant Chinoiserie vases in the foyer. It’s crisp and modern and also has a slightly formal femininity; a good hostess, the kind of person who remembers to send thank-you notes. Gracious. Things are done right here; but always with an intriguing, artistic twist.

Nice, subtle fragrance. I like it alot. This is a great "nice girl" smell...way more feminine than I usually like, but it never gets gross and powdery. Soft and just a little sensual.

On me it has a smell of a soap... expensive soap. It is creamy with a hint of Iris, maybe Musk. Warm, relaxing scent. I think it rather should be a bath foam.

Spicy, woody, a touch sweet, a little powdery. This takes a familiar formula and makes it unique with the addition of unusual notes. The wood and floral notes are blended beautifully, but I find the spices to be a little too amped up: I would have liked them to be a bit softer to let the other notes shine. I also get quite a strong peppery note which I’m not wild on. Unisex but I’d say leans more masculine. On the better end of performance for this house, which tends to do softer fragrance.

Sorry, but to me it’s just the cabinet with Indian spices (no offence!). While I do love Indian cousine, I prefer not to smell like one in my choice of perfume.

I absolutely disagree with all these comments below calling this quintessential femminine. Not just because I own several bottles of this since my college years, not because this is crowd pleaser and I happen to be a man, but mostly because Miller et Bertaux designed their first released scents as non-gender, wearable by all according to the occasion and place. Parfume trouvé really is fluid for daily wear and the wood base matched with the Iris has a very clear connection with Dior Home but as opposed to the latter, Parfum trouvé is much more complex on how the spices take away the dry powder ness of Dior Homme giving that "spices in the air" someone below described. On top of this, let me add, that the first blast to me is all about sandal/palysander and something that to me reminds me a lot of Pierre Guillaume classic accord ginger/immortelle that recalls to me a vintage Coca Cola scent. Such a vibe. This was my college years perfume, and now it's my "when my office outfit is comfy, so it should be my perfume" pick for some specific days in the office. If you are a man, no worries on going for this, you'll still get the right attention, and again, that Coca Cola vibe....

A tiny stone church at dawn. A lily in the hand of a bride. A beatific smile. A beguiling scent that has a quiet femininity and an expanse of space that makes it quite contemplative, almost spiritual. I own an older formulation of Dolce Vita and while it shares some notes, the effects are vastly different. This scent is a introvert to Dolce Vita's outgoing warmth. A perfume for a cool tempered Eowyn. I would love to try a Feminite du Bois comparison. I own four Miller et Bertaux scents and I find they all share an intelligent and wearable grace.

Consider this FDB's daytime scent. Her gentler younger sister. I have wanted a wearable spicy scent for years but they never smell good on my skin. I really wanted to depart from the citrus and white florals that love my chemistry and this did the trick. I own FDB but I can only wear it on my clothes bc it has a note that's very sharp on my skin. It has excellent staying power and good sillage. I feel like it's soft enough for warm weather and spicy enough for cool weather.

Like Feminite du bois but so much better! I think I need this in my life. Reminds me of those hot cinnamon candies I used to eat as a child - and the fireballs - cinnamon jawbreakers. But it's much more than cinnamon - lots of woods and musk and feeling the ylang. Powdery sweet but not too sweet indian spice goodness. A little waxy balmy too. Parfum Trouvé is one of my favourite perfumes. Similar to Féminité du Bois, a delicate, sweet cinnamony-plummy-woody fragrance, but less dense, less spicy, less heavy, it is FdB in pastel. The drydown is soft creamy-musky, with a hint of spices. Classy, feminine, elegant with a mischievous spicy twist.

Bought this because someone in a Facebook group said it was very calming in situations of stress. I second this! Also, I love how everyone here says its very feminine and I'm here smelling this and thinking I'd love a guy smelling like this.

Really very similar at femmenite du bois,but without note of incense,honey and rose.So hot on my skin,with a lot of spice ,so persistent and strong,after 5 hours become so sweet(lilly)mmmm......

Reading these reviews I can only come to the conclusion that COVID's truly messed with my sense of smell. This fragrance smells like musty old lady to me, and that makes me incredibly sad.

This fragrance smells exactly like pears soap. I love a warm spicier scent but this is all I can think of when I wear it. Pears soap in a fragrance.
