like an Egyptian...

This is one of the few fragrance brands that has a truly unique DNA in my opinion. In the past years I have owned several of their fragrances and sampled all, but my latest is ‘like an Egyptian...’. A very powerful fragrance that smells like bottled rays of burning sun, dark green foliage in the shadows and mysterious flowers that bloom during the night. This fragrance is pure poetry.

Nose Note #958 I don't know what to say. It truely is a niche scent from a niche brand. Very ivocative of something middle eastern, but not in the traditional way at all. I'm not familiar with cypriol, but I guess there's a ton of it here, because this perfume is mostly about this perculiar green spicy accord. When I'm saying green I don't mean fresh-green. Also this is one of those perfumes when the spices are very gourmand, i.e. they actually smell like real spices that you pepper your food with. One other similar example would be Amouage Purpose, but whereas Purpose is (as funny as it sounds) kind of "mass-appealing" niche, traditional, masculine, super strong and projecting and most importantly just smells like a perfume. This is almost nothing like that besides being very strong and somewhat masculine. Somewhat masculine I mean when the perfume is just so difficult that you naturally think only a man can bear this. Otherwise I can't confidently say it's gender appropriate. It's just purely niche like one other from Miller that I've had previously - A Quiet Morning. So yeah. Lots of gourmand spices. Cypriol is dominating the composition like crazy. It's an occasional perfume for fragheads. You can't wear this daily unless you've reached this low point in life when you stopped caring about people around in a negative way. This perfume can be very offensive. Right now references mention Cuoium, Black Incense Malaki or Full Incense. No. Zero similarities. Leaning masculine. Very strong. Projection is, thankfully, not crazy. 6.5/10, strange, but a nice addition to the collection to give a shock therapy to your nose for a very affordable price!

Yeah, this does smell like a less punchy, more wearable Private Label. It’s closer to PL than Interlude as it’s more airy, lighter, and there’s definitely no green, herbal top. It has a light citrus somewhere in the top’s background and a clay-like note that reminds me of Imaginary Authors’ Memoir of a Trespasser. I get the ‚Egypt’ part, it does smell like old papyrus, old clay, old wood, sand, smoke... except the smoky note had the same problem it had with PL - it does smell like something smoked, not smoke itself. Like, a really smoked sausage, or a burnt down log, or smoke leather if it has any sense. Don’t like that note.

I ordered a sample of this thinking I wasn’t going to like it, but the design of the bottle was just too intriguing to me. But I’m very glad I tried it. It is a dark spicey spicey and smoked fragrance that indeed tells the story it is trying to tell.
