Cassis en Feuille

Absolutely the smell of a dewy walk trampling over someone's fruit and vegetable patch - and I mean that in a GOOD way. (Obviously you should never, ever trample on someone else's kitchen garden.) This is good. Really really good. Full of intensely natural smells of earth and sap and tart, peppery, nose-tingling crushed vegetation. More of a smell than a scent, much less a perfume. It doesn't feel 'designed' or artificial-lab-grown anything. To my nose, this is much more green than sweet - which is welcome. The cassis is rough and funky, like the smell of a berry fresh off the bush in your hand, not a stewed-red-fruit vibe at all. I was appalled to realise (reading it on Fragrantica) that there's pear in there because the smell of ripe pear fruit makes me gag, but somehow in this lovely scent it's just a gentle, fresh note rounding out the rest, not a dominant presence. Sillage not huge, longevity fades out at 4-5h for me. But it's really worth reapplying. Just beautiful for a spring or summer day. Maybe an autumn day too.

A perfect scent for high summer. When nature is groaning with ripeness, but there are still leaves and greenery all around, just before the fall into autumn. This perfume smells like you are standing in a hot greenhouse surrounded by an abundance of blackcurrant and tomato plants. Its such a fabulous smell, both green and sharp and sensual and warm. They have balanced those two opposing smells so well, with the hint of rose and bergamot linking the two with their own opposing softness and sharpness. I adore this perfume. It encapsulates peak British summer for me.

I was very interested in In Love Again by YSL because of its uplifting tomato leaf note. I found a great deal for Cassis en Feuille, and it was a successful blind purchase. It opens with a bright and strong bergamot alongside the aromatic and vegetal tomato leaf note. This is is reminiscent of walking through a garden in summer, and picking up fresh tomatoes. The dry down is softer, slightly floral and powdery (to met at least). I will definitely wear this beauty in spring or summer.

The best way to describe this is in an interesting freshie with a twist. Where a lot of summer fragrances would kick off with citrus bombs this is very green. It’s what I imagine cassis leaves or ivy leaves smell like if they were put in a blender. Then it slowly transitions into a nice French expensive perfume smell which stays close to the skin. I get about 6-7 hours with the last 3 being skin scent, but I am very generous with my sprays.

I was looking for similar scents to L'Artisan Parfumeur vétiver écarlate, and this is a good competitor. Les zingy more floral. This is also more feminin and doesn't have the Vetiver but it 's pretty close with the tomato leaf. Juts like walking through a garden full of green plants and flowers. Very natural scent. I love the scent but sadly performance is poor and it's also expensive for this kind of performance.

This is a very fresh scent of greeniness, exemplified by tomato leaf and cassis. It's certainly different experience to other perfumes, this one is a an experience of fresh vibes, not too sweet, not spicy,not too woody, it needs to be tried to be appreciated. I like how unique this perfume is, it's something I spray on when I'm alone at home and want to drift into a clean green field.

Great combination - like you rubbed fresh young tomato leaf in one hand, black currant leaf in other and then rubbed hands all together and put your nose into that refreshing herbal heaven) Love it for summer days, pure antidepressant in a bottle!

Spring in a bottle, crushed leaves, dried down to an aromatic musk. Pretty, fresh, if you love herbaceous aromatic perfumes this won’t disappoint. Tomato leaf is one of my favourite notes in a perfume, it’s there but I’d love more in this

This is SUCH a beautiful fragrance. It starts off with a dance between zesty and vegetal, very refreshing, then dries down to a sweeter, clean musk. I love it! Please bring this perfume back, Miller Harris!

The opening of Cassis en Feuille on my skin, is such a vivid image of budding cassis plant. The blackcurrant leaf has its characteristic sharpness and muskiness, but haven't yet exhibited its ripe, sour aspect. With the help of the earthy, almost dirt-like vegetal scent of tomato leaf, it boasts the natural bitter greenness of a living plant. Within minutes, the blackcurrant starts to ripen. The fragrance sweetens significantly, sometimes even veers dangerously towards being gooey molasses. Fortunately, the muskiness and the earthy greenness manage to restrain the jammy sweetness. At times, when the tomato leaf suddenly pops up, its earthy green tonality combined with the musky tartness of currants even reminds me of a ripe tomato. The fragrance eventually softens and becomes more transparent in the dry down. The mild fruity sweetness now also has a rosy undertone, while the leafy elements take on a minty tonality. Clean white musk quietly infuses the fragrance, without dragging it into laundry detergent territory. The whole effect is a breezy fruity floral, quite refreshing and natural. Cassis en Feuille has a rather quiet sillage and stays on my skin for about 8 hours. After smelling a few Miller Harris, I find that their fruity floral, even though hardly earth-shattering, are usually very natural smelling and give out a down-to-earth, unpretentious feeling. Cassis en Feuille, with its lifelike blackcurrant and tomato leaves and carefree fruity sweetness, is no exception. I having low tolerance towards jammy blackcurrant, in the end, Cassis en Feuille does not suit my personal taste, but it's still among the more pleasant blackcurrant representations that I'd encountered. I'd definitely recommend it to those who are looking for a blackcurrant-centric fragrance, or a solid, balmy fruity floral fragrance in general.

i can't believe this perfume hasn't had more rave reviews. i think it is blended superbly and is a perfume i fully enjoy. it wears as a fresh, aromatic cassis and tomato leaf dream. a touch of sweet rose. reminds me of a well tended greenhouse as the evening cools, full of tomatoes, geraniums. you close the door behind you to walk past a big rambling english rose bush. clean cassis how it should smell (sans kitty wee). a beautiful geranium oil, rather than those sometimes bitter leaves you find in perfume. it dries down with a little citrusy rose powder musk on me, with the middle notes still in tact. i even detect a micro smidge of a fresh pine or fir note, like the one in Terre D'Iris. uplifting and fresh. love it. wish i'd bought a bigger bottle now!

Flower stem sap. As a young boy, I remember being wheeled into a flower shop, my mother a vague shape in the background, pushing my pram, the humidity overpowering, together with the heady scent of the flowers. Cassis en Feuille accentuates a particular memory within that scene, the cut flower stems, and in my imagination, I see sap oozing from them. So green, so intense! The first 10 minutes of this perfume take me to a place and time I have no other solid memory of... wonderful.

First, I've no idea why this is labelled as being for women - I would rate this as unisex. Well, anyway, I'm wearing it :) So, I really enjoy the tomato leaf note... Overall, this perfume is herbal and green upfront, very clean and fresh, amazing at times... but it changes over the course of the day, and becomes a little softer and a little sweeter. It lasted a few hours.

A very pretty freshy for the warmer months! A photo realistic (but not overwhelming) tomato leaf scent, with sweet softness from the geranium and rose, that really does make you feel like you're walking through a fragrant garden. Another beautifully blended perfume from Miller Harris.

Tomato leaf and currant leaf, green, crushed, a little moist vegetalness, like roaming in the slightly abandoned childhood garden corner under the overgrown bushes. A lovely private moment.

This one might be unsweeter version of Diptyque L'ombre Dans L'eau, which is what I was exactly looking for!

I’m layering with L’Artisan Mure et musc and it’s a beautiful thing!

An interesting scent, but I find it a little repulsive. It is a very true green scent, vegetal and herbaceous with hints of compost, it makes me think of an overgrown garden with prickly bushes. I was hoping the tomato leaf would be sweet and shining, and that the cassis would take a back seat - it was the opposite, to me. The leaves are dark, beginning to decay, the turn of summer to autumn and the dreariness that goes with it. Cut back overgrowth that emits that recognisable scent of being damaged. There is no uplifting citrus or florals to be seen. I was disappointed as I really like the tomato leaf and citrus combination in Found at Dusk, and was hoping this would be an alternative as Found at Dusk has such poor performance. But they share no similarities in my opinion. I had to scrub it off so I can’t say if it improves after an hour, I really don’t think I’m smelling the same thing everyone else seems to.

At beginning it was dry lemon, herbal. Then it got little bit medicine vibe. Unobtrusive, bit refreshing green, tomato leaf with aromatic and spicy-herbal-medicine in background. Thou weak rose and fruits, but they give to this perfume more cheerful, fresh and feminine vibe. Musk comes out later and gives little bit more warmth. After about half hour it's more aromatic, spicy and musk than green. For some reason my nose doesn't feel this scent so good or there just isn't enough sillage. It's neutral not really day or night, hot or cool. Nice for hot summer. In my opinion light unisex perfume. I don't think that this is fall-in-love or signature for someone perfume, but it's interesting, different, harmonic and closer to green nature. Very green, but not aggressively and not like many perfumes grass green. For some reason, thou not necessary because of notes in this perfume, but in my mind I get association with Italian large grape field. Italian mountains, country side, greens, working people in fields using traditional wood tools. Nevertheless to say that I never been to Italy.

At first I was pretty shocked, it smelt like I had gone into the garden and ripped out some greenery and rubbed it on myself! But as times have gone by this reminds me of all the nature walks and such I used to take with my dog, all the camping trips in the early morning. It's still insanely green but I appreciate it's freshness some mornings, it makes me feel new made and want to go out into nature. I can't say I detect many of the notes separately but I do detect hints of things. I would hardly say tons of fruit or berries though. Hard to describe, definitely test first! Lasting power and sillage is okay but not huge. Edit: A few months later and I must say it's ended up finding a place in my heart, much to my surprise! It's green and fresh as hell but oddly calming and smile inducing. I finally see the connotations about English gardens and such!

I proudly won a 50 ml bottle of this in an eBay auction for £20. Been trying to build up a collection of geranium scents (Geranium Nefertum by Molton Brown, Constantinople by Penhaligon’s, etc). and this is very fresh and beautiful. My only complaint is that the longevity is less than 10 minutes if you don’t spray liberally. This smells like a greener version of the Pamplemousse by Miller Harris which I also own. And both are perfect fresh scents for the summertime.

Very pleasant hot weather scent, have just finished a decant in the uk heatwave. It’s very green stemmed foliage at the start, I don’t get any tomato leaf which is what I’m searching for, something greenhouse scented. It quickly dries down I’m guessing the scent is cedar wood? which is a nice gentle scent. It’s nice and I’m glad i got to try it but it whips through my favourite bit of green stems too quick to become a favourite.

Starts with a sharp bergamot punch, then gets a bit sweeter and muskier. Stays quite green throughout these stages. After another hour the green fades somewhat and it becomes a sweet, subtly smoky vanilla. When I first tried this last autumn in cooler weather I thought it was almost a photo-realistic tomato leaf, but now that it’s warmer, I get sour/sweet musk and bitter bergamot, without much leaf.

Miller Harris is a very challenging perfume house, they truly go for the love it or hate it factor. I had a brief affair with Fleurs de Sel however never really fell in love with any of their scents. Till now! When people catch it on my skin there is a moment of confusion on their face then usually a compliment. I have to agree with Ivyswirl, it's a fragrance that brings a smile to my face

This is my favourite ever fragrance. Interestingly, I used to go for the “smack you in the face” Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance or Chanel No 5. I find this one sparkles as it is sprayed on and I feel uplifted as soon as it’s out of the bottle. I have to alternate with Pamplemousse and Geranium Bourbon so I don’t get bored. No idea about silage and stuff - it just smells great!

Such a unique scent. Very vegetal and herbaceous. Tomato leaf and cassis are the most prominent notes. I don't know why it took me so long to discover Miller Harris perfumes, I honestly love most of them. This one is green an natural smelling. Smells like walking through a garden full of tomatoes and plants. This is so much better than Repluca From The Garden.

on opening I get explosive fresh, citrus leaves.. it soon settles down to a light fresh, green floral and very clean scent. i'm not sure of this one but it does make me feel very clean and I always get compliments. herbaceous and floral spring to mind... Very acquired perfume but I enjoy it more than I don't.

The opening cassis is beautiful and green as expected. As the scent dries down, it gets boring. The base is a clean musky scent.

Very green opening that I absolutely hate. Amazing dry-down though. Very unique.
