Lost In The City

I always say fig (leaf) is my favourite perfume note; just one whiff of a well-made green fig accord in a scent makes me instantly feel like I have to have it, no matter how many subtle variants on that same theme I already have in my collection. Using up my sample of Lost In The City in just a few days, I realized I have that same pavlovian instant-love reaction to good rhubarb scents as well - and this is a great one. As several people have voted on this page, it's really very similar to Rhubarbe Ecarlate, of which I bought a big bottle as soon as I tested it in a store: they're both deliciously crisp, tart, rather realistic and very bright, real mood lifters - just utterly wonderful. Also, as is typical for rhubarb scents, the brightness quickly wears off and the opening is the best part by far. As far as differences go, Rhubarbe Ecarlate is maybe just a little warmer and slightly sweeter, and Lost In The City is more complex, with other notes and especially geranium and blackcurrant making it generally just a bit more fresh and "zingy". Still, they're really very similar, so I technically don't even need as much as a decant of this in my collection. But I'm adding it to my wishlist anyway!

It took me three tests to fall in love with Lost in the City. The first time, it struck me as too tart, pale, and ungrounded by base notes. The second time, I still felt it was missing substance, but I was intrigued by a splash of tannin-rich tea and a surprising brightness that reminded me of grapefruit. The third time, all the notes finally fell into focus and I was able to appreciate the entire composition. Lost in the City is pure fun and sunshine. Tart and juicy to the point of making my mouth water, bright and citric and pinky-floral with delicious ruby-red rhubarb and a cooling, refreshing tea backdrop. The geranium and rose here really accent the rhubarb with a distinct floral-fruitiness. I can't say the earl grey is recognizable as such, but it is just the right kind of bitter-green that keeps Lost in the City unique. The It is summer sunlight bottled. Absolutely perfect for hot days when you want something more unique than a cologne but similarly invigorating. Lost in the City's strength is surprisingly decent, with it clinging on the whole day, though its throw is more personal. I'm glad I gave this one several chances.

Hmmmm....I do love a good rhubarb scent...and this is exactly that. A gorgeous tart rhubarb. The bergamot opens this fragrance up....mixed with Angelica, I seem to get the impression that Angelica imparts a sort of tangy vibe...the 2 notes blend very well to give a sour and fresh scent. The black currant does give it a little sweetness but not too much, just a hint. The Rhubarb is fantastic in this fragrance, really delicious and sour with a natural saccharine edge, the earl grey tea in the basenotes adds a lovely refreshing counterpoint to the sourness of the rhubarb and livens it up just that little bit more. Truly a wonderful summer scent...this is a fruity fragrance done well with seamless intergration of all of the notes....a bit sour, a bit tangy, a bit sweet, a bit green. I would definitely have a full bottle of this for sure....as with all Miller Harris fragrances, longevity is very good. The best rhubarb oriented fragrance I have smelt in a long time.

Love this. Very rhubarby. Not hugely longlasting, but more so than Hermes Rhubarbe Ecarlate.

This one is interesting. It starts tart but sweet fruity, rhubarb and cassis definitely come to mind, but I personally also get a vegetal but floral rose hip like element. The angelica is cool and damp, the rose sweet and dewy. The slightly bitter aromatic elements to remind damp cool tea leaves. Very nicely blended, interesting concept, feminine leaning but still conceivably unisex.

If you like tart rhubarb perfumes, this is for you! I just threw it in it to fill out MH's minimum sample order, but I was pleasantly surprised by its dry, tart scent. The rhubarb really is the star– I could maybe get a whiff of tea if I tried, but otherwise the other notes play a quiet supporting role.

The opening is fresh and fruity, and the rhubarb holds well on fabric. However, on my skin it eventually dries down into a very rosy smell, which is a bit more feminine-leaning.

I thought this one was discontinued. It was off of the Miller Harris website for a long time but it’s back now. It’s one of my favorite Rhubarb scents.

This is tart rhubarb done right. Like Nishane Zenne but without the weird cigarette smoke undertone

Top notes are citrus and tea - it gives a very Earl Grey vibe to start. The rhubarb takes a few minutes to get started and then it's there in force. So far I've tried Found at Dusk and Wander in the Parks from this line and all have a blackcurrant note listed, but the only one that really projects this is Dusk. This one is all tart rhubarb after the tea-like opening, with a bit of geranium, angelica and musk underneath but not a lot of grounding. The amber note listed doesn't appear at all for me, but it would be useful to tie this one down a little, so it doesn't float away. It has a low scent intensity on my skin, even nose-to-skin, and although it sticks around for a bit, there's no trail. I don't hate it, but it's my least favourite of this line -- and it's hard to believe it's even in the same line as Found and Dusk because both of those have massive intensity and staying power. There are better rhubarbs out there, but it's fine.

This does have a slight similarity to In Love Again, but it’s far sharper. That one has a sweet muscat wine scent that stops the sharp notes getting too head-splitting. On card this smells almost identical to the fabulously tart and dry Hedonist Cassis by Viktoria Minya and it shares many identical or similar notes so it’s understandable! Hedonist Cassis is an unsweetened blackcurrant and bone-dry rose scent with green notes, rhubarb and grapefruit. It’s Crisp with a capital C! This one is very similar indeed but on skin the rhubarb is stronger and the dryness seems to be more geranium with a hint of rose, but the overall effect of wearing them is so so similar - I recognised the scent profile immediately! Best for high heat I think as it might be too sharp for some in colder weather.

The rhubarb is really stong on me and for some reason I get tomato leaf and mint from this! It isn't as sweet as YSL In Love Again but is in the same general area, profile-wise. This is very similar to Viktoria Minya Hedonist Cassis although that one is even crispter and the rose is dryer. It also has a few similarities with Les Belles De Ricci Liberty Fizz (nowhere as good as that one though!). So overall, dry and aromatic rose / geranium, green and tangy rhubarb with a possibly imaginary mint and Tomato Leaf and a hint of tea! I really only enjoy this in hot weather!

Bought it for rhubarb but in my bottle there's a super chyper geranium with blackcurrant stems and some herbs. No tea, no rhubarb, no rose. Nice frag for a gym or a hot day. Wouldn't pay full price for it.

My wife loves this on me so you know where this is going already. Rhubarb rose petals blackcurrant amber fairly linear after the bergamot blast at the beginning. Great longevity. I can sense it wafting up to me for hours. The tartness of the rhubarb just about pulls it from feminine to unisex and for me this is a very nice contrast to my politically incorrect masculine fragrances, a warm weather one to relax with and did I mention my wife loves it? This could be my 3rd FBW from Miller Harris the other two being Feuilles de Tabac and Etui Noir. Incidentally the ultra feminine version of this which has the BEST photorealistic florals is Tender. I bought that for my wife and she did not like it. Oh well.

This one isn’t great on me...a nice fresh rhubarb smell with the smallest hint of musk and amber in the background. If it wore better on my skin it would be lovely for those first few weeks of Spring, however within 5 minutes of applying I can only smell it with my wrist directly under my nose so I won’t be purchasing for that reason. Looking at other reviews it clearly isn’t like this for everyone so I’d say it’s one to try as a sample before purchase to see how it wears on you.

Where's it gone? I sprayed it a minute ago!! Poof and it's gone. Don't underestimate this one though because the notes in this are definitely heat activated!! You think it disappears and it's weak but it isn't, it comes alive when you move and there's this lovely trail of sexy shower fresh fruits and rose petals. Guys will love this on you, it's clean, feminine and you can't not like it. It's like a shadow of shower fresh following you as you move! Intoxicating!

The opening is same as clementine California by Atelier Exact same I am waiting to see if it turns green on me based on the notes (I hope not) This is more sweet citrus version of Myrica muse No woodiness in this one

Just found this on sale in my local TKMax. To me it’s a less green version of Found At Dusk. A soft blackcurrant and rhubarb, I don’t normally like rhubarb in scents but this was nice
