Rose Silence

I really love this perfume it starts off very subtle with a true fresh, bubbly, fresh rose fragrance. It smells like you are walking in a rose garden which is lovely at the moment in the Autumn and in the dreary cold, windy weather (last week it was boiling hot Lol) anyway getting back to the review Lol. After about 30-45 mins the fragrance actually gets stronger??? You only need one spray on your pulse points on your wrist and hold them together (don't rub but you all know that Lol) and I also put spray on my decolletage and another on my top. I must admit I was really shocked that it got stronger after 30-45 mins Lol? It wasn't in your face everyone starts choking strong. The rose fragrance also didn't smell artificial it smelt realistic/authentic and lovely and it was still quite strong after 5 hours then it started to slowly fade and after 8 hours was subtle and 12 hours later I could hardly smell it. So if you wear it to work it will last all day in the office without having to top up (unless you want it to be strong all day) It is a lovely fragrance and you do not need a lot also. So even tho it isn't cheap it evens out in price as I only use 3 sprays of this where as some other perfumes I use 5 or 6 sprays (and some of those don't last all day at work or they do but I cannot smell them by midday this I can smell) This perfume is one that can be worn all year round. In the spring and summer because the roses are out and Autumn and Winter to cheer you up and remind you of the Spring and Summer and the lovely smell of freshly cut roses. This is definitely not an old lady rose fragrance it is uplifting, young, bubbly, fresh and wearable for all ages. This is definitely a winner in my eyes x

Unexpectedly beautiful, vibrant, sparkling, sweet, jammy rose scent. It’s a lovely syrupy sweet rose scent with a juicy mandarin orange and blackcurrants in the top notes and a fluffy musky, clean patchouli combo in the base. Very beautiful executed and delicious smelling, has a strong gourmand feel. As far as being unique, a few scents I already own come straight to my mind when I first sniffed Rose Silence! A less tart version of Delina from what I can recall. A more heavy on the rose version of Chloe’s Chloe EDP and Fleur Musc by Narciso, where these two are focused more on the peony flower. A less spicy, woody version of Eau Capitale by Diptique. Reminiscent of L’Extase by Nina Ricci, but this one has a more complex structure, wider bouquet of flowers and even more gourmand. Very sweet, feminine and uplifting rose scent. Very youthful and spring season appropriate! I would consider getting a bottle of Rose Silence as a replacement for Fleur Musc or Chloe EDP if I can get it for a decent price. Really impressed with Rose Silence!!

Oh my goodness, I love this so much! ❤ This is a photorealistic, deep pink Rose, dew drops, stems and all. It's fresh intoxicating perfume radiating from it's petals as they're warmed by the midsummer sun. The fruits and Patchouli are there but they're subtle, allowing the rose to dominate throughout. Longevity is good and projection is moderate to strong. I was recently gifted a couple of bottles of Roes en Noir, which is another beautiful Lyn Harris Rose creation. A dark red, velvet Rose, more complex and definitely better suited to evenings out or cooler weather. Rose Silence is fresh, uncomplicated and gives me a feeling of peace and contentment. I love them both but the simplicity and charm of Rose Silence is the one I will reach for more often 😊

This is similar to Diptyque Eau Rose (EDP more so than EDT) but I like Rose Silence more. Eau Rose to me is a bit more of a straightforward rose, even with the litchi, but Rose Silence is a bit more bubbly, a bit fruitier to me than Eau Rose. I might be biased though since I am a sucker for rose/black currant/musk fragrances (enter my beloved Dior La Colle Noire). Longevity is not great but I sprayed my clothes about 5 hours ago and the scent is still very much present. It's a beautiful, clean, uplifting rose, perfect for this gloomy weather. Would make a beautiful spring and summer scent without ever getting too overbearing. Miller Harris makes great airy, light fragrances, so if that's your thing, then check out their discovery set.

This is a perfectly gently sophisticated yet understated sparkling rose scent. Clean and fresh rosey signature. I feel like it does a similar thing to Delina La Rosée (DLR), and even though DLR has better staying power it the bright elements that I like turn into something more generic rosey, musky , I prefer the way Rose Silence holds its beautiful sparkling elements . It is light and airy and that's the way it should be. Though it doesn't have beastly staying power. I think it does what it does perfectly well.

I chose this over Scherzo because it works better with my body chemistry. Scherzo somehow runs bitter on me. Rose Silence is to me a modern Rose, slightly salty, sometimes soapy and a bit powdery. It almost reminds of Rose Saltifolia from MC every now and then. It is indeed a quiet fragrance - sits close to the skin. Longevity is quite poor, unfortunately, and I have to overspray and then respray after an hour.

The longevity is about 5 or 6 hours on me! As the name of the perfume says, it has rose, but even though you can smell the rose, it's unisex and a guy can easily wear it and pull it off. I have bought it recently. I like the scent but I don't think I will wear it very often because I feel like it doesn't reflect my mood or personality.

If you love this fragrance and use it in summer/spring, try using Velvet rode&oud by Jo malone in winter. They are very similar, except the fact that this one's more lively, fruity and energetic and the Jo malone one is darker, sweeter and heavier. Let me know if you'll like the advice!

I just love this! it's a light, fresh, clean, natural-smelling rose, in a sophisticated bubble bath kind of way. It also has just the right amount of sexiness too. The patchouli in this is perfectly balanced and gives it an addictive depth. Absolutely perfect signature scent. Love.

This is what I wear when I need comforting, it feels like being wrapped in a lovely cashmere sweater or blanket, a light drizzle outside and a good book to read. It is lovely, lady like and a good all round scent which could be worn at the office or anywhere really!

Deep affection for this perfume - simple sugared rosewater type scent but well and skillfully blended. It's airy yet dense, sweet but also woody. Staple for any rose lovers. Unnoticeable to the nose however lasts forever on skin/clothing even a meter away.

For me this was the best rose perfume that I've tried. It's such a beautiful and pure rose scent when I sprayed! After 10 minutes, the musk scent came out smoothly and I just said "wow". I had a trial size and I will buy the full size.

Another gorgeous rose from MH. I layer this with La Feuille for an extra hit of green and it works beautifully. Sprayed onto the sleeve of my coat and can still smell it a week later. A week!

A true rose fragrance. Crisp, clean, with a little sweetness. This without being powdery or "old". Beautiful rose for every day wear. Suitable for work.

My wife has this. Slighly sweet, smooth rose, some fruit there but subtle, rose is always front. Simple but really beautiful. 4/5

Perfect pure rose aroma I ever tried, but don’t last long(

I recently discovered Miller Harris while at a department store in Paris. I was automatically drawn to it as I am intrigued by niche perfume houses that are yet to be discovered by the majority. I tested out multiple perfumes and was immediately drawn to Rose Silence. Rose Silence is a beautiful and soft rose scent. It immediately reminded me of the old formulation of the Bvlgari Rose Essentielle, which was my perfectly crisp rose scent that has unfortunately been discontinued and replaced by Bvlgari Splendida Rose (which is nothing to compare, very boring generic rose with no depth, no speciality). You could imagine my excitement when Rose Silence reminded me of my all time favorite rose scent. Rose Silence shares the crisp notes of a fresh rose, yet still has a slight depth thanks to the soft patchouli in the background. I also notice a very soft white musk lingering throughout, that also gives it a "clean" and luxurious soapy feel to it. It reminds me of fully bloomed roses in the early dusky morning, while still having water droplets on them from the crisp wet night. Some people have mentioned that they noticed the black currant, I somehow do not detect the black currant nor orange. So easy to wear for daily use. My only complaint being the longevity. It lasts only a 2-4 hours on me. I find that if I spritz it on clothing it lasts slightly longer than on bare skin.

Miller Harris is one of my favourite houses; I have Figure Amere, Vetiver Insolent and Fleurs de Sel, all of which I adore for their smoky, woody yet fresh and unexpected combinations of notes. They're somehow very modern, stylish and leaning to the masculine, but as a woman I feel comfortable and sexy in them. Cassis en Feuille is another unexpected composition; less sexy but even more intriguing. I love fresh, classic, accurate rose fragrances, and had high hopes that MH would add their usual twist to break new ground in this well-explored territory and take the classic rose somewhere dark and interesting. Unfortunately, I found Rose Silence disappointing. The main problem is that rose and patchouli never co-exist. It starts out as a pure soapy patchouli with the tiniest whisper of rose. This dies down very quickly to a skin scent and after half an hour the rose emerges as a slightly candied, almost salty murmur; for me, this stage is the best part of the journey but much too quiet. I'm looking forward to layering this under stronger rose scents to add a darker tone, but as a standalone fragrance it's not for me.

*Sigh* One of my favourite perfume bloggers is The Candy Perfume Boy and he always says this is his favourite rose perfume. I can now see why that is. This is a beautiful, clean, modern, true rose perfume. It couldn't be further away from an old-lady-smelling dated and powdery rose. Don't get me wrong as I'm a sucker for those but this is so refreshing. Dewy, stemmy, the palest blush pink, a freshly picked English rose. I cannot imagine a single person who wouldn't find this scent pleasing so it is definitely a non-offensive perfume that can be worn absolutely anywhere... But for that same reason it might be a little too polite and boring for me. I like a little more edge and so far my favourite rose perfumes are: Delina Exclusif (pink Marie-Antoinette-ish rose) La Fille de Berlin (vampy red Marlene Dietrich-ish rose) Having said that I can't lie and I must say I would love to own Rose Silence. Miller Harris also sells the soap and cream so the 3 products layered must be heaven. I'm pleased to have discovered this brand !

This is a generic rose/musk perfume. Not a bad thing, this type of perfume is a work horse in a collection because it can be worn almost anywhere. It almost goes into fabric softener territory but stops just short which is a plus for me. I do not like clean tee shirt or shower gel perfumes. A very lovely slightly fruity, rose w/ musk. I just reexamined this one again and while "nice" it has a very fabric softener smell in the dry down that I just don't like. I wish perfumers would use better quality musk's instead of cashmeran musk, I am finding that I do not like that note and will avoid perfumes in the future that include it. I only bought a travel size for $15 since I couldn't sample so it is no great loss. I will see if my sister likes this one, she likes fabric softener/clean tee shirts scents.

This is a fairly nice perfume to my nose, eventhough it is slightly out of my wheel house and not something I'd personally wear. It is definitely a rose fragrance, but it has a definite fruity accord from the blackcurrant and there is also a very woody smell to this perfume. I get this mainly from the patchouli. There's a bit of a musky smell, too. I don't smell much of the orange though and this doesn't really smell like citrus in any way to my nose. When I first smelt this, I felt it was way too woody and that I wouldn't like it at all, but just after a few minutes it really starts to change and freshen up a bit. I'd personally class this fragrance as unisex, but slightly feminine leaning. Both the sillage and longevity are moderate in my opinion too.

Very fresh, clean, citrusy likeable rose fragrance. This smells like a men's fragrance to me but I see that the general view here is that it leans female (probably because of the rose, but that's debatable). I'd label this unisex and a rose option that a man could totally rock. It gives off fresh-out-of-the-shower men's fragrance vibes. I quite like it and like layering it with a simple vanilla like Kayali Vanilla 28. UPDATE: This reminded me a lot of another fragrance I own called Windows Down by Henry Rose and I realized it's because of the tea in the dry down. They are not dupes for eachother by any means, but if you really like this unisex sort of tea fragrance and want to try a "grapefruity" version - that's the one.

I usually avoid all those feminine rose fragrances out there. But this fragrance is different from the norm as the rose is pleasantly more synthetic, softer & subdued, so, therefore, more accessible for me to wear. Consequently, I agree with the previous reviewer that it fits perfectly as a (borderline) unisex scent. Longevity, along with many fragrances within the Miller Harris range, could be better, especially for the price it sells at. It just needs regular topping up throughout the day when wearing. The soap & the body wash, additionally available to buy, are a helpful addition to the fragrance. Not particularly a firm favourite of mine & I am constantly mindful of when & where to wear it as a gent.

Bright, clean & gentle rose. Some years ago it would have stolen my heart but now I find it just pretty & pleasant, so it's just like for me. Don't get me wrong, I do love rose and there's nothing wrong with Silence Rose, yet my favorite Miller Harris interpretation of this flower is Rose en Noir. Looking for the exact dupe of this perfume? Go for Zara Sunrise Rose. Notes are slightly different, smell is definitely close.

A modern, delicate, sophisticated watercolour rose. Eminently wearable, pleasant and unobtrusive - it seems like a scent whose lasting power may vary depending on the person and conditions but I got respectable longevity from it. I should note - on my first test within the discovery set, I wasn't very taken with it. This is a scent which grows on you.

Its very lovely. Very bight, crisp (thanks to black currant) rose that is neither too sweet nor too dry. Very wearable and refreshing, lovely for the summer. I don’t have any longevity issues with this one that some people note below.

Like rain soaked rose petals. Fresh and clean and totally wearable for daytime - not a major head turner but gentle and sophisticated. I’m not the biggest fan of rose based fragrances but this one caught me by surprise.

Soft, fresh citrusy rose. Has a very “clean girl aesthetic” vibe. Good for out of the shower or at the gym. Unfortunately it’s just too soft for me; I only get about 90 mins of performance.

A nice rose fragrance smelling just like my roses in the garden. If it lasted longer I would love it, but 1-2 hours is just not enough...

Similar to diptyque eau rose but less woody and musky. This is a skin scent and fades within an hour.

My first introduction to Miller Harris was through the iconic L'air de Rien. Or 'Eau de Posh Hippy' as I like to call it. Not long after that I discovered the warm incense of La Fumee and the quite lovely Vetiver Insolente. So maybe it's because I associate the house with natural, sensual scents that are easy on the nose that I'm not so taken by their later creations. Rose Silence, in common with many others such as Celadon, Feuille, Fumee Alexandrie, Soufflot and presumably quite a few more,smell like candle fragrances to me. I mean I'm expecting real church incense, or an Arabian-style rose, or some lovely natural labdanum, and I'm getting the same laundry musk and screechy synthetic notes. It's purely subjective, and to be clear I don't like synthetic laundry musk smells, to the extent that I buy 10 litres of natural Castille soap once a year and use it dilute to wash all my laundry, with a few drops of lavender essence. I can't cope with these screechy musks and I'm pretty sure they're not doing us much good. If I sound a bit preachy let me confess I'm an ex smoker and I still enjoy a glass of wine or three. I still have a quarter full bottle of L'air de Rien and half a bottle of La Fumee - both gorgeous, so thank you for those anyway Miller Harris! I was so excited to receive this perfume after falling in love with rose silence bath and body oil. I was sadly left disappointed. Funnily enough the bath oil lasts longer and has more sillage than the perfume itself. I can't believe how weak the perfume is considering the price. It smells beautiful, it's my favourite rose perfume so far. It's so sophisticated and quite modern for a rosy scent.

Simple pink fruity rose, lasts a long time and is very pleasant. It has a strange synthetic musky smell in the drydown, but that stage comes after some 12 hours, when it is probably time to reapply. Would very much suit days when you'd want to feel girly.

This perfume is so faint, I could make a cringeworthy joke about the ‘silence’ part of the name. It’s a gorgeous feminine, jammy rose scent but I feel like it needs more ooomph because on me it’s barely detectable.

A nice but short-lived rose opening gives way to a soapy, synthetic musk on the dry down. The rose lasted maybe 5 minutes before the musk became overpowering and headache-inducing. None of the fruit notes came out on my skin. Might be okay for someone who enjoys white musk scents, but not at all for me. This one was a scrubber.

This smells so basic. Not bad, not good, just basic. I find many women in their 40s smell like this. It's probably because of the rose and patchouli and then the blackcurrant that is the main note in one perfume I smell everywhere: Sí.

this is a really dark Rose/Patchouli-mix. Definitely unisex in a good way. I get no manly wibes but I get no typical female wibes neither. Strong and bold, so 1 spray goes a long way and the sillage is gooood.

Gentle Rose... Rose Silence is a subtle, gentle rose fragrance. I do like it because I find it very wearable as a rose fragrance. You get a very gentle yet vivid and transparent rose, it's like very refined rosewater and I think the way this has been done is commendable. Some light, juicy fruit serves to bring out the fruity aspects of the rose, and this stops the rose from being powdery or heavy or jammy in any way. The is some light clean musk which always keeps this fragrance subtle and clean. I would use the word "effervescent" to describe this. I find it very wearable and think it's gender neutral. I do think that this would smell great on a man or a woman and I would recommend it to anyone out there who is looking for a rose scent that doesn't smell old-fashioned but just modern and natural. In that respect.. this is one of my favorite rose scents. I must say I don't find the projection that remarkable (especially in eau de parfum as this is) but it's a good rose scent to have and a good reference rose at the price point. The house of Miller Harris always makes realistic smelling fragrances, and Rose Silence is no exception.

Beautiful, dainty, calming. The rose in Rose Silence is so perfectly pink and bubbly and fresh. Underneath the rose is a clean, smooth, sparkling, abstractly musky (i.e. synthetic) base that is pretty similar to Replica Bubble Bath (which I really enjoy too). I love all kinds of roses but usually prefer oriental or sweet variations, which Rose Silence is not. However, l found myself falling for Rose Silence so easily because of her delicate character. I feel like I just got pampered at a spa. On my last wear of one spray, I clocked 13 hours of wear with throw enough for me to smell it without sticking my nose to my skin. I think people become anosmic to this one quickly, there's no way it's only lasting a few hours.

I have wanted to try this fragrance for absolute ages but never just bought it since I have a very sketchy track history with MH. As luck had it, a sweet swapper sent me a sample and I was thrilled to finally try it. As I have experienced in the past, the fragrance was gorgeous but the longevity was close to zero on my skin. Every sweet waft reminded me of a very diluted Amethyst which I adored...berry and rose being one of my favorite combinations. Very lovely but not for anyone who wants more ooomph to their aroma. Addendum... perhaps a whole bottle would solve this issue. A tiny decant does not truly give a fair dose of any fragrance, especially on my dry skin.

Rose Silence by Miller Harris 2/5 First impression get a bit too much of the carrier alcohol. Then the bright rose becomes the primary note. I'm not getting any of the orange or blackcurrant. The rose smells like the petals only without any green notes. Becomes a skin scent on my skin after two minutes. Didn't create any sort of fragrance bubble for me. Rose Silence Cashmere Musk, Turkish Rose, Blackcurrant Purchased six samples from Miller Harris and working my way through reviewing them. Wore at home. Would not purchase.

Quite a toned down rose - more Rose Silencieuse than Silence. If there was any less of it, it would be Inaudible... On the positive side, rose dominated fragrances tend to be seen as old fashioned, so this avoids that trap. The short rose opening has something fizzy in it and then there is a pleasant musk like in Air de Rien. The opening and the next 20-30 mins are quite interesting. What follows is a fairly long lasting citrusy/greenish base, everything else gone. Gentle and discreet, although somewhat generic.

This is a beautiful fresh and unassuming scent. I was given the 14ml by a friend who isn't into rose perfumes, and I am so glad as this is a perfect one for me! It reminds me slightly of Body Shop - Atlas Mountain Rose and Paul Smith - Rose which are both modern rose scents. I feel this is a great one just for day time or at work and I can't imagine anyone disliking it as it isn't very overpowering. The sillage is good, and the longevity seems ok so far after an hour.

Blind buy in TK maxx but oh boy! I love it!!! This is the best rose scent ever!!! If you are looking for that crisp fresh slightly stronger then the generic rose perfumes scent and as close as the real smell of roses this is your best choice. I sprayed it 10 min ago and it smells better and better. Not too strong not too weak just right. Was a but worried as it wasnt cheap but will be going for another 2 bottles as the price is a bargain!!
