Staccato

Instant love! Miller Harris Staccato opens with a big blast of Ginger. Not the sweet candied variety, but the freshly crushed. The Ginger note softenes, over the next 10 minutes or so, as the Cinnamon and other spices come forward, bringing depth and hints of sweetness. While the spices mix and settle, warm Cedar, fruity pipe Tobacco, Leather and Benzoin mingle in, adding a cozy autumn vibe. There is a quiet floral Honey touch in the dry down. Throughout wearing the spicy and woody tobacco aspects interestingly alternate. From spritzing to dry down took around an hour. Projection and longevity are both moderate. It's a shame that ‘The Stories’ collection hasn't been added to the bath and body range. I think that layering Staccato and Soufflot would be lush! It's so well blended and smooth. It feels cosy and comfy. Like watching an old movie by the fire, while outside it's grey and raining. Although an instant love for me, I'd recommend testing before committing to a full bottle. If you order 4 2ml samples from the MH website, you get a £15 voucher towards a full bottle. Staccato is perfectly unisex and ideal for the cooler seasons. In my home, it will need to be kept where everyone can use it!

I really like it but it’s not for everyone and it will be strongly impacted by your skin chemistry. On me this sits a little bit like Etui Noir but more spicy at the start and mossier at the dry down. For me the name aptly describes the first sniff. When I first sprayed this I thought wow this is some strong rocket fuel.. but it does settle after 15-20 minutes and opens nicely. I can smell leather, woodsy notes and a bit of rose and honey. Lots of smokiness. In my head this is Etui Noir but in 2024, stronger and more nuanced, if this makes any sense. But definitely a strong smell and not for people looking for a barbershop/clean scent. Also very different from anything I’ve smelled recently.

I love this. It's mainly ginger, cardamom and honey on me, especially for the dry down. Personally, I find it a warm, comforting, elegant scent. Would love a full bottle. Somehow I am detecting a clove note in here, but I think clove isn't listed as a note according to the official blurb? Anyway, my nose defintely smells it. This clove note, mingling with rose, rather reminds me of another lovely fragrance, Ffern's Winter 24. But the longevity of Staccato is far, far better than Winter 24. A few sprays from the two ml sample, purchased from the MH website, has lasted an entire eight hours, and with a bracing walk in light rain. And I still smell delicious, like a very sophisticated ginger cardamom spicy pudding.

This is a great scent - very unique and beautiful! It starts with a mix of fresh spices: lovely zesty ginger and some peppery notes. And then transforms in sweet yet earthy tobacco. I love the honeyed leather note here. The only downside is that all the beautiful top notes disappears really quickly on my skin and then it’s most leather and tobacco.

I love this fragrance. I didn't expect to like it based on the ingredients list but oh I do. It's smoky and slightly sultry, lasting really well on me for multiple hours. I feel powerful wearing it.
