Tea Tonique

This is nothing I would have sought out on my own, but someone send me a sample in a swap. What a nice surprise it is! Ice tea in the two classic flavors of peach and lemon, with a hint of bergamot, mixed up and served in a wooden cup. It's higher quality ice tea, not as sugary as the typical Lipton/Nestea/store brand stuff, but still quite sweet. I love any kind of ice tea, so this is great to me. The woody note in this doesn't reminds me of birch, but of cedar, specifically of the little pieces of cedar wood you can put into your wardrobe to repell moths. We had those when I was a child and I remember I liked their scent, it's different and much better than the typical cedar note in modern fragrances. So, this is not an average boring green tea fragrance. Refreshing, mouthwatering, original and easily unisex. I don't find this particularly smokey or spicy. Miller Harris is sometimes available for cheap at TK Maxx, and while I wouldn't pay full retail for it, I will definitely pick up a bottle of Tea Tonique if I ever see it there.

I'm writing this during a May heatwave in the UK - when I received a few samples of this through other MH orders, I was a little unconvinced. In cooler weather, it did present to me as, well, a little bit of a damp teabag. Then the sun came out, the temperature rose and any notion of heavy perfumes suddenly seemed immensely unappealing. On cue - I tried my sample again and it was a glorious, sparkling citrus iced tea. Refreshing, light, pleasing and a little herbal through the later stages. I could catch faint lingering wafts into the early afternoon after applying at around 8am, but I would expect to need to reapply it for the evening. As a side note (and a foray into the "longevity" debate) - most naturalistic botanical smells are not going to stick around very long. That is the trade off of lighter scents (and therefore lighter scent molecules) and also of realistic, natural materials. For the sort of fragrance this is, and with its inherent limitations, this is a decent performer and good value for money.

Compared to other tea fragrances, this one has a quite sharp and tannic edge to it--like tea that has been brewed to the point where you absolutely HAVE to add milk in order to make it drinkable. I hear others talk about this as green tea, but for me it is absolutely a black tea, one that is made bright through the addition of bergamot and a bit green toned and dusty through the addition of Mate; but still the tea itself is dark and tannic. This makes it have some depth while still being incredibly refreshing. Starts bright with citrus, then the tea with its tannins, then settles into a musk but the freshness, the sharpness, and the subtle fruitiness (I suppose it is peachy) never goes away. Staying power on my skin is not great (better on others); but I spray a bit on clothes too and it performs wonderfully on fabric and helps me with the longevity for the day.

Crushed lemon seed sour, petitgrain and peach blossom light summer breeze, iced unsweetened green tea. How you wish a day spa smelled. If you went on a first date (regardless of your gender preferences) after work on a hot sticky summer's day, and your date showed up and smelled like this, you'd be delighted at the fresh clean icy-but-not-aquatic vibes. It's an inoffensive and slightly creative take on a clean refreshing unisex summer fragrance, but I can't imagine wearing it outside of the muggy days where you can't wear your signature and 3.5/4 season faves. Part of whats so delicious about it is the comparison to how other people smell at the end of a humid day 🫣 you're not supposed to say it, but it's true. I'll enthusiastically use my sample, and if I could afford a larger collection this would DEFINITELY be a contender for a high summer scent.

Got a sample for this, sprays it on my hair and wrist. Found it similar to any other 'verde' perfume concept. But spicier. The scent however keeps coming back now and again, as if reminding me that its there. Will took you off guard as you're writing a paper,listening to your friends problems or as you're walking to your car heading back home. I like it. The dry down will still remind you that you're wearing a tea fragrance but with a 'denser' feel to it, like a cumin. As its not stated, it could be the nutmeg. So i got it. A bottle. Didnt regret it. Its a crowd pleasing scent, although my friends didnt take it as a tea fragrance, but generally accepted it, as apposed the other 'heavier' perfume i wore. There are other great Verde perfume i agree, but this one lightens up a tad different stroke for me.

Another nice one from Lyn Harris. A very fresh citrus, bergamot lead tea, almost like drinking lady grey, but with some extra citrus. I have a small sample and despite me not loving this at first, on the way to work this is the one I enjoy the most. I can't stop reapplying, there is something very satisfying in it. See tea reference LOL. It is almost blending into the background, but still a lovely smell to linger. If I had to bring up something negative, it's for me masculine leaning, (but still unisex) and reminds me of 2000s trends somehow so not necessarily dated but not very unique. If someone likes to smell nice in the office without being annoying to colleagues, this is definitely one to get. Full bottle worthy in my humble opinion.

Tea Tonique is so refreshing. I’m really enjoying sampling it. It starts of reminding me of an elevated Green Tea with the citrus and fresh tea, after awhile the sweetness from the peach blossom becomes a little more apparent, though it’s not sugary sweet. The tea is slightly bitter, more like a freshly brewed iced tea blend. It’s not overly woody in the drydown, just fresh and invigorating. Sillage is moderate for most of the length of the west, though it’s (on my skin) on the low end of moderate longevity, around 3 hours. It’s so nice for warmer weather though! One of my favorites from Miller Harris, wonderfully aromatic and smells quality.

At first sniff, it reminded me of the opening of Arielle Shoshana's Monday: very citrusy, like lemon iced tea. I wrote it off, but found myself revisiting my wrists throughout the morning as they got sweeter and the citrus faded. By the time the sweetness dies down, this becomes a lightly sweet tea. Almost a skin scent. It smells SO clean. I felt incredibly fresh, like my whole body had been steam-cleaned - kind of a wild feeling. I loved it most when it dried down and became "you but better". Definitely will be revisiting and perhaps getting at least a small bottle!

Well isn't this just amazing. Opens with a very bright citrussy mix of lemon and bergamot. Soon enough it flows into the 'tea' territory but with a smoky depth to it. Finally merges into a nice mix of musk and prominent petitgrain on my skin. Longevity is very good at 6-8 hours of moderate projection, and a nice skin scent beyond this mark. I would not personally wear this on hot or humid days as it might become a bit dense in these conditions. Spring and early fall is where this will shine. Office friendly and just gorgeous. 8.5/10

This is lovely. It starts as a freshie, with a very light and green tea that is enhanced with bergamot til it sings a really high note. Super refreshing. After a bit though, the peach blossom comes in and it becomes a crystalline floral, with tea in the background. And the dry down is so beautiful, with a deeper maté tea and birch, yes birch, I can smell it in here and to me it gives the most non- woody wood, a white wood, which is cushioned in musk. Perfect for warm weather.

This is very nice and reserved fragrance - smells rich! Now that 'Bvlgari au the rouge’ (one of my favourites) is discontinued, this is a great alternative. I have a sample and this is the perfect EDP version of Bvlgari au the rouge (cologne) + Hermes Un Jardin En Mediterranee (Edt). Office friendly, safe, non-offensive, reserved and rich- Must have in the summer collection if you want to move away from typical Blues. Get it before is gets discontinued.

Just sniffing the bottle makes me happy. Such a fresh, aromatic uplifting scent with just a touch of subtle sweetness (very happy that isn’t more sweetness which I usually find cloying in warm weather). Tea and citrus is prominent but can still smell the other notes. Definitely unisex. Spa vibes. Actually pretty good moderation and longevity for a citrus scent.

just getting into perfumes but this is the first larger (still not full size because... it's miller harris lol) bottle i bought because i became obsessed with the 2ml sample and promptly dropped and broke it all over my floor. i can't even explain my love except this is just what i want to smell like. this is my platonic ideal of a Good Smell.

To me this sits in between wulong cha and thè yulong. it doesn‘t have the smokiness of wulong cha but has more edge than thè yulong. i think nutmeg really carries this fragrance through all stages. i think if you like the nutmeg in this you might like venenum by artisan parfumeur. it has a similar bready effect after the opening.

Citrus and tea note combination like many other tea scents. Slightly creamy and smoky wood note that reminds me of my hinoki soaprest gives it some depth combined with the musk. Overall it still has a very transparent feeling to it. Very elegant; I almost imagine it as a fresher version of my current favorite, Teapot Sonder.

This is the closest thing I have found in many years of searching to the long-discontinued Lemon Tea fragrance from the Body Shop, one of my all-time favorites and my signature at one time. I think this is a beautiful, citrus-forward tea fragrance that can be worn year-round. Elegant but also approachable.

Tea Tonique is, indeed, similar to Wulong Cha. However, I find TT to be a little smoother and cozier. All of the bright and clean notes of citrus and tea with the hint of spring blossoms and nutmeg giving a gentle wink. Even though WC’s performance is superior, I will be decluttering in favor of TT.

Great tea fragrance. I smell the lemon, tea and a light woody smokiness. It wasn't exactly what I thought it might be but i do love a tea perfume so i think this is very nice. It grew on me! Reminds me of heretic's dirty hinoki but less sharp and with tea of course!

We got this in a shower gel, conditioner and shampoo. It is one of the most wonderful scents my wife and I ever came across. We tried to get the perfume here in Canada but it’s next to impossible to get. Highly recommend if you can get it!

I got this and Fragonard’s Jasmin Perle de The on the same day. Had to do a double take because the two smell really alike— but then the Tea Tonique settles into a lemony iced tea. Love this, though Fragonard is a touch better for me.

masculine, light, yummy tea... somehow the middle & base note mate put some depth on it... i would wear this at home after shower and freshen up in the evening for dinner in the park during spring/summer.. the smells simply classy.

Lovely slightly toasted tea. The citrus accord starts out strong but is harmonious—not screechy like it is in the original Nishane Wulong Cha. It smells like a steaming cup of Twinings Lady Grey tea.

3 sprays and a paisley shirt in the mediterranean summer. Yes it's smokey, but the best kind of smokey, one for those that enjoy a freshness too. Superb performance, really sophisticated. Gorgeous.

Ah, this is a sip of a citrus ice tea on a hot summer day. Refreshing, cooling, and a bit of spice. I think that's the mate I'm picking up. Adore this, will pick up a full bottle soon.

Very fresh, very light...I really like this one...definitely a day-time perfume with a nice pick-me-up from the bergamot...feels sophisticated yet simple at the same time...

Perfect summershine fragrance. Uplifting citrusy lemon tea in a bottle. It is refreshing and gives energy in the morning. Office safe. I really love it. Recommended 5/5

I have finally purchased this fragrance recently and I absolutely love mixing it with Bergamonte 22 by LeLabo. Mixed together it smells like a nice lemon ice tea.

Crisp and refreshing citrus tea. This is one of my favorite scents for hot summer days, like a cold glass of iced tea with lemon.

This tea-based fragrance is good and lasts on me for about 7 hours, and the scent is remarkably great, no BS intended.

Always reminds me of the happy memories in summer time, very fresh and i definitely love the woody scent tea

Bright and pleasant green tea scent

Black tea, lemon, birch tar, mate. This is an iced earl grey with no milk and a slice of lemon. Maybe a bit bitter, but still refreshing. I must like it as I used up my entire bottle one summer and only have a tiny bit at the bottom for this review. It's October now and I'm not sure it works in the autumn, but I can see why I loved it in hot weather - you can smell like a cool drink without the frou-frou of the tropical cocktail fragrance set. It's sophisticated enough to wear to dinner, but light enough for summer. Still, I am smelling this now on my arm and it's a bit too bitter for me to love it. It's possible that being the dregs of the bottle has meant it's concentrated to much or turned - much like the leftover loose leaf tea at the bottom of the mug. If I'm ever in the Miller Harris shop will sample it again and report back.

To me this is quite similar to The Vert from Roger & Gallet, in that both are bright, sparkling zesty citrus tea fragrances. Very refreshing, great for hot days. Miller Harris has more of that bitter tea quality, making it a bit more realistic. You get that bitter matcha scent playing in the background behind the lemon and bergamot.its clean, spa like and almost zen. It almost registers like a bit of lemongrass. By contrast, Roger and Gallet is a bit sweeter, less photo realistic, and maybe more tart and refreshing. Both are nice but I prefer the R&G one based on fond scent memories and a significantly lower price tag, plus more projection and longevity.

Citrusy, gentle tea. With my eyes closed, I can easily name most of the notes: bergamot, tea, petitgrain, and a warm, spicy element in the base; here, it’s nutmeg. It’s by no means a bad fragrance; in fact, within its own category, it’s a solid composition but there are stronger contenders out there. I also find myself wishing the birch tar were more pronounced; I’m practically digging for it, and a stronger dose would have added a wonderful dimension. The biggest issue here is longevity. It simply disappears. So delicate, so fragile, it feels like holding a sheet of gilded foil that crumbles the moment you touch it. Tag(s): delicate tea, bergamot, light

A natural, refreshing, and unisex scent. The brightness of bergamot and lemon evokes the aroma of sipping a cup of lemon Earl Grey tea. A hint of bitter orange balances the delicate sweetness of florals - (carrying a subtle impression of peach blossom, with a gentle hint of ylang-ylang)- creating a gentle sweetness that never feels cloying. A touch of nutmeg adds a warm, spicy nuance, enriching the composition with depth. Finally, soft layers of woody notes and white musk settle in, leaving behind a clean and refined finish.

Another pleasant and refreshing fragrance from this house. MH seems to do spring/summer fragrances very well. If you are looking for a light, office-friendly, calming yet uplifting tea fragrance, this may be for you. True, this may not pack a punch the way Wulong Cha does, but I don't think it was intended to. I wish longevity were a bit better, but I will re-test when the weather finally warms back up, as this is definitely a warm-weather fragrance, and Wulong Cha is more year-round, IMO.

Light, fresh, super easygoing, smells just like iced tea with some ice cubes and a few lemon slices. Clean and uplifting right from the jump 🤔 Drydown brings in mate tea with a bit of birch wood and lemon leaf oil real chill, smooth, relaxing vibe 😉 Performance’s solid: about 4–5 hours on my skin, 6–7 on clothes. For this style, I lean more toward Affinessences Gingembre Latte. But if you want that creamy, milky tea drydown, Ethereal Parfums Kyoto Green is the one for me 💗

Gentle, fresh, interesting fragrance. One can detect a slightly bitter take on black tea (some fresh leaf tea in a box generates a fleetingly similar smell). The citrus component takes over and seems to provide the tonique component. Seems quite well balanced, although discreet. Typical of the house's green/herbal signature. Longevity is ok, sillage is moderate. In the end it develops into a mate/citrus combo. At all stages, this is polite and moderate.

Muskbomb. For me it shares an opening with Le Labo Bergamote 22 and the Mercedes Benz cologne. The citrus has a grapefruit aspect - it is a little heavier than pure lemon/bergamot - I think it might be an unlisted vetiver lurking beneath. Later on the cedar is apparent - not quite so realistic as Le Labo The Noire 29 (and without the fig). It doesn’t give me a strong impression of tea - probably because I’ve never drunk tea that smells of musk.,,

First I bought a hand wash from that line and I was not much impressed. The smell was ok-ish but it was drying out my hands. I thought it was just overpriced hand wash. But in the meantime I bough a small purse spray. I used it today for the first time not expecting much. And I was wrong, this is perfect tea fragrance. Invigorating unisex cologne. More masculine on my skin but I don't mind. Lovely fragrance. I am glad I bought it.

Tea Tonique is a spot on name for this fragrance. I’m pretty weary about predominantly citrus fragrances but this is very unisex. It feels so relaxing and makes me happy and uplifted, but sits close to the skin and you’d need to overspray with this one and keep it on hand when you’re on the go to respray throughout the day. I honestly want this, but I wonder if there’s a fragrance similar to this with better performance...

Lime is not listed in the notes but something in the lemon-tea-bergamot combination translates as lime to me - its like a lime and gin and sugar drink with a hint of spice in the periphery. Its nice, the sweetness (from musks?) makes it leaning flatter and more sugary rather than crispness and dryness you sometimes get from tea-citrus fragrances. Longevity on my skin chemistry is not great. Its nice but its not love.

A very nice tea frag with welcoming spices and a citrus zestyness. It's very pleasant to the nose and fresh enough for office use. There's a smokiness akin, but not similar, to Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver which I guess is the birchwood teasing my nose. The spicyness is warm and inviting and marries well with the green notes. All in all a fresh scent with a nice tea and birch kicker. Pleasant and inviting.

This is absolutely not my typical scent profile but I love it for working from home in summer. It’s a refreshing earl grey or black tea, with citrus and musk. Think of the smell when you go to take a drink from a chilled glass of peach iced tea and you’re there. The performance is great on me - sillage isn't powerful but I can smell it steadily on me for hours after I’ve sprayed. A great perfume!

So fresh and refreshing! I could definitely see myself dousing myself in this in the high heat of summer to uplift a sluggish mood. It has just the right amount of spice to elevate it. Overall it’s nothing that special but something I’d see myself reaching for often for a pick-me-up. Currently working with a sample vial but for the right price would purchase.

I got a sample of this. From what I can tell it’s a nice zesty citrus-green scent, but honestly the sillage is so soft I can barely smell it. I get a bit of the citruses and a bit of tea, but I have to press my nose against my wrist to even smell that and it disappears within an hour. The notes sound great but the execution lets it down.

It's nothing revolutionary it's a lemony tea. I thought it'd be a bit more complex for the price point. The notes are what you get ,the dry down tones it down and it's a tamer tea rather then a lemon bomb. I don't reach for it super often. I'm you're looking for a bright citrus fragrance with tea infused this is a good choice
