Wander Through The Parks

Not groundbreaking necessarily, but nice. Despite being much lighter, this somehow reminds me of my beloved Issey Eau Bleue, if only because both have a kind of bluish-green springtime freshness that I find quite compelling. I think that in this fragrance a lot of the bluish side must be down to the watery aspect of the violet leaf. Not entirely linear. There is some complexity, depth, fullness, and texture here, but most obviously this is fruity green. I get the sense of bitter greenery but I also get a lot of most if not all of the fruits listed, most notably the fig, plus a kind of cosiness from the musk and cashmeran, and the airiness of that violet leaf. There may even be a hint of fruity bubblegum from the tuberose and citrus. It surprises me that some people find this unwearably green and gnarly. I don't think there's anything at all rough or unpleasant about it. Performance is perfectly adequate for the genre, too.

I’d been sitting on a sample of this for awhile, but with the hot summer days we’re currently experiencing I decided to give it a try. I’m really enjoying this, much more than I expected! I even went and ordered a small bottle of this from Miller Harris’ summer sale after wearing it today. It’s crisp, it’s green, it’s slightly sweet fruity. It all blends together so nicely. The only notes I can for sure pick up on are galbanum and fig, though admittedly I’m not sure what nettle is supposed to smell like. This is an enjoyable and refreshing summer scent and I’m here for it!

Green bomb, nettle and fig combine to give that proper tomato plant fragrance that's great for summer. The citrus throughout helps tone it down a little, think wanderlust or the dyptique that I can't think of the right name of at the moment. But ever so slightly toned down and softened. I bought this for way way under the retail from a discounter when I was discontinued, I don't think I'd be as pleased if I'd paid full price for it.

I actually think this might be the perfect wild green scent I’ve been on the hunt for. It’s green without being grassy, well-rounded and -blended without coming across as ‘perfumey’, it’s tangy without being dominated by citrus, and it feels like the scent of a wild secluded corner that you’ve stumbled on in an urban park. I’ve decided nettle should be in everything now. This is great.

This fragrance makes me so happy. It is crisp, bright green with delightful dewy grapefruit and black currant nuances. It evokes joyful memories that don't exist, but come into being because of this scent. Obviously, not the reaction all people can expect to have, but I would recommend it for anyone who loves a bright, well-done green scent with a lot of character.

This is so beautiful! I was looking for a proper green perfume, and this is just perfect. Very herbaceous, leafy and green. Literally like walking through the park, and smelling all greenery around. I love Miller Harris natural smelling perfumes. Nettle, fig, galbanum and patchouli are the most prominent notes. Decent lasting power. I absolutely love it.

I bought a sample of this from the website, and I enjoyed it so much that I bought a discounted 50mL bottle. It starts out kind of bitter, but it softens quickly. It's definitely green, but there's a soft floral that lingers. I can see how one reviewer likened WTTP to laundry detergent/softener. I find myself smelling my wrists throughout the day.

Absolutely gorgeous, and citrus notes notwithstanding, exactly the smell of a London park full of grass, flowers and nettles. Takes you straight outdoors! My husband says it is addictive and cannot stop sniffing his wrist.

I just love this perfume, it surprises me every time I wear it. It's long lasting too, and until I got it I never smelled anything like it. Fresh, intimate, sweet, tantalizing. Green is the right colour for it for sure.

The best "cut grass" perfume ever made. This is how I picture how grass smells in heaven.

I wore this today. And to answer the question posed below -- nettle smells a bit like unseasoned artichoke tastes. Green, and slightly bitter, but with savoury undertone. A bit more grassy and minty than artichoke - apparently when you cook nettles they can have a fishy smell/flavour, but there's none of that here exactly. It's a mild savouriness. Unseasoned cooked artichoke is the closest I can get, but it's not quite that. If you're curious and/or want to train up your nose on nettle, you can buy nettle tea for cheap at the supermarket and take a whiff of the teabags. They are very nettle-y! In any case -- Nettle is the dominant note here, whether real or fabricated. I smell lots of fresh grapefruit and mandarin as well, and the green of the nettle is emphasised by the grassiness of the galbanum. I get a little bit of tuberose in the background but no blackcurrant. Maybe that's just my skin chemistry but this is a very green and citrussy scent to start with very little sweet. The green nettle scent persists throughout, although when the citrus calms, it is joined by fig fruit (which is only a little sweet), and tempered by white woods and a large dose of cosy musk, with just the slightest touch of patchouli for earthiness. It's an outdoor, parks and gardens scent, so is aptly named. It's not my favourite of the range so far (my heart belongs to Found At Dusk, which is a true blackcurrant scent), but it is lovely. I'm wearing this in the wrong season as I think it's more a spring/summer scent, but I'll be bringing it out again then.

First of all, the scent itself: on opening, the nettle is strong. I found on paper the violet was dominant but on my skin it’s 100% green nettles with violet somewhere far, far in the distance, only seen as a pinprick on the horizon. The nettle fades as it dries down and the violet comes out to play a little closer. It’s green, fresh and not-bitter (it’s not sweet, but still opposite to bitter). Towards the end, the notes are indistinguishable, just a highly sweetened musk with an undertone of something masculine. On to the performance: this is the second Miller Harris I’ve sampled, the first being Found At Dusk which I loved. Both have poor performance, with Wander Through The Parks being the very slightest bit longer lasting, but throughout that time it’s so weak I had to press my nose to my wrist to smell it (this was within about 2 hours). If you want this for a quick little errand run or even a first date, you’ll get a few hours with okay projection, but after that it is a very weak skin scent. A shame, since it’s such a lovely green, all year/all day scent, but I think this is common with all Miller Harris scents based on reviews for their other perfumes.

Wow, there’s a lot of controversy in these reviews over what exactly nettle smells like. I have to admit to having no idea about that, but nettle makes me think of something sharply green and prickly and a little harsh. There’s a big pop of that quality in the top notes of this perfume, whether it’s the galbanum or galbanum plus the mysterious nettles. Anyway, it works so well in this composition. That bitterness is the perfect foil to the juicier, fruitier notes of berries, figs and currants. While I’m in this top stage of the perfume I’m in love with it. That love isn’t diminished too much by the fact that within an hour this dries down into a more generic type of green fragrance. Sweetish, slightly floral, and cool. Wander through the Parks goes from remarkable to pleasant, and is a solid like for me. It lasts about 8 hours on the skin.

I'm probably not going to add anything that any of the positive comments haven't already said. For the first couple of hours it is a gorgeous soft green warm summer fragrance. Not sharp, bitter and airy like so many niche green perfumes are, because of the addition of the red berries, fig and tuberose. I love it. However, the problem lies in the fact that it has no sillage or longevity. It simply vanishes after an hour or two. If it was half the price I would buy it and liberally apply it throughout the day as it is a wonderfully balanced summer scent.

Opens with a soft, matcha-like whisper, a gentle blend of grassy freshness and subtle fruity notes. Yet, as the scent unfolds, it lacks the intrigue required to hold attention, settling into a space that feels too familiar, too safe. On skin it's almost reminiscent of Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea. Easy to wear, yes, but so unremarkably restrained that it’s hard to imagine reaching for it again. Fleeting wind through a park's cafe, sweetly green in the moment but never lingers around.

I got Found at Dusk and i was really intrigued by it. It wasn't my biggest love but i couldn't stop spraying it and smelling it. It is so interesting to me. Now it is a love. So i wanted to get this one but it was hard to find until my trip to London where it was discounted. This isn't as intriguing as Found at Dusk but it is very natural smelling just like that one. It's also more unisex making it easier to wear for me. I'm glad i got 2 of this line.

blind bought this with not so high expectations, but i actually kinda like this! nettle is very dominant, fruitiness is noticeable, i see some people are unaware of how nettle smells...? nettle is a type of grass, yes, but it does NOT smell like literal grass, it's very fresh and a lil spicy, kinda like cassis (at least to me). very iconic of miller harris, a british fragrance brand, to release this as it is spring in england in a bottle.

A cheerful fragrance, fruity and youthful - especially noticable are the grapefruit and mandarin orange. I cook some dishes with spring nettles and sometimes drink nettle tea and am not getting much of the nettle note in this scent. The jolliness of this perfume evokes the experience of a brisk stroll out of the doldrums into sunny London streets past lots of people grabbing a late afternoon pint in the sun.

This is not the type of fragrance I’d usually go for, but a received a sample from a fellow fragrance enthusiast, and it’s actually quite lovely. Green and fresh, yet fruity and grounded, not an airy freshie but more of a leafy fruit. I’d definitely wear this in Summer and would buy a bottle if I found it discounted. Edit: 2 hours later and it’s a barely there skin scent. Disappointing.

Beautiful scent, very green and dewy, true to its name. In cooler temperatures it lasts about 8 hours and projects well. On my skin however it goes a bit too sour for me, and I'm not friends with citrus and sour berries, so I don't think I'll repurchase this Wander. But it's a lovely, interesting scent nevertheless.

@Lwjm Just because you have never smelled nettles doesn't mean they don't have a scent or that no one can recognise it. That's the tragedy of our times - confusing one's personal experience with the objective state of reality. And yes, the dominant note in this fragrance is indeed the nettle.

This smells gorgeous - the very definition of “wet green” - but the longevity is very poor and at Miller Harris prices I want it to last.

nettle? i cannot smell the nettles. this reminds me of a fabric conditioner my neighbour might us (we share washing lines) that would be labelled "summer breeze". a concoction that is kind of fresh and green, but smells as infinitely chemical as an automatic squirt public toilet freshener. and as far from nature as one can get. in the same way that strawberry shampoo smells just like strawberries. the "urban foraging" back story. rather important for large populations to let the flora and fauna be, in any city, weeds and all. yes, London has smells, but lets be honest, having visited every park and wandered over it's smell scape for several years, it has never smelt very nice and certainly not like a trio of perfumes manufactured using smells "of British nature" produced by the smell companies who once sold these ingredients to the laundry people. moderate sillage and long lasting, (like fabric conditioner, that lingers forever on other people's clothing).

Huh. I really, really expected this to be a home run for me. I love fig, currant, and green notes. This has long been at the top of my to-test list because the notes and reviews were *so* promising. I expected a fresh, green, tart scent with the creaminess of fig under it all. What I got was not that at all! To me it's pretty sweet, not very green, and dominated by fig and tuberose. It's reminiscent of lily of the valley, though thankfully without its cold intensity. It's warm and sweet, pretty and nice, but not at all what I had dreamed of.

I can see that my opinion that the nettle chitter chatter is misleading is unpopular. But I think, even if you disagree with me, that it could be useful to a blind buyer to read that alternative viewpoint, and more useful than some other reviews. For example, the review a couple below this claims that nettle smells like "unseasoned artichoke." Unseasoned artichoke just means "artichoke." It's faux significant to say "unseasoned" artichoke - something that should set readers' alarm bells ringing. But then the review below also claims that nettles simultaneously don't smell like artichoke. And also minty. And fishy. Curious. It's an interesting claim, nonetheless. Minty, fishy, artichokes but not artichokes. There you have the problem. In justifying "nettles" we end up with artichoke, not artichoke, fish, or mint. I've smelt Wander through the Park now, and it smells straightforwardly green, a bit grassy. I think that "generic green" didn't get through the marketing meeting, so nettles were selected - it sounds interesting, and no one could call the BS because most people have no idea what nettles smell like. In fact, WITP smells better than the generic green sludge of nettle. So to all the people who truly insist that nettles have a distinctive smell, AND that this perfume possesses it, I think you're doing this perfume a disservice (as well as not being entirely straightforward about the smell of nettles, and your own knowledge of that smell). Finally, if you really want a feminine green, try Chanel No. 19. It is decisive, while this is generic.

I also grow nettles, although involuntarily...) - but the flavour of artichokes is nothing like the green sludge of nettle. The same reviewer also claims that artichokes also smell fishy. Minty, fishy, artichokes but not artichokes. There you have the problem. Nettle tea is (in the UK at least) everywhere - nettle is an unmanageable weed. It is not, however, widely drunk. Because it smells of green, grassy sludge. Not artichoke, fish, or mint. Nettles smell a bit like the green clag you scrape out of the lawnmower when it gums up. I've smelt Wander through the Park now, and it smells straightforwardly green, a bit grassy. In fact, it smells better than the generic green sludge of nettle.

I am very much into “green” scents and have been for a while, I find them to be comforting and fresh at the same time, and Wander through the parks is no exception. Looking at the notes I knew I would enjoy this one and I was not wrong. The top notes are so vibrant and juicy with a natural sweetness, the grapefruit is very mellow and not sour. The Galbanum, Fig and Nettle are stunning in the middle notes..admittedly I could smell the fig straight away after spraying on my hand. This part of the fragrance is my favourite, it is so bright, cheery and summery, a wonderful pick-me-up on this gloomy overcast day. It transports me to the height of summer on a lovely warm day, maybe in a park or a field surrounded by greenery having a picnic and eating fruit salad. The violet and cashmere wood in the base is beautiful and smooth...the violet leaf creeps upon on you so sneakily...weaving its way into the composition. I’ve now come to realise that violet and figs go together so well. This is a scent that I definitely wouldn’t mind a full bottle of for the summer months or when I want to be reminded of summer, another winner from Lynn Harris.

I've been and checked. Distinctive smell? No. Any smell...not really. Generic vegetal mush when stamped on. In a similar vein, Fragrantica also offers pebbles (yup, pebbles) as a note in CK2, and pollen as a note in MH Hidden on the Rooftops. Yet it does not allow you to vote for vetiver in Roger & Gallet Vetyver, or tobacco in Mancera Red Tobacco. Something is amiss. Just because the internet is foolish enough to give you an option to click on, doesn't mean you should click on it. I tried this one at the airport, without the intention of buying any new perfume as I’m very attached to my “sunny side up” (juliette has a gun), but when I sprayed this on my wrist I couldn’t help finding myself smelling it all day. I had to go and buy one bottle during my trip as I loved it. It is a green unisex fragrance, nettle and galbanum are predominant but they are refreshened by delicate citrus and berries and “rounded” by a deep violet and cashmere while the fig helps adding a sweet note. It’s beautiful and fairly complex perfume which lasts from the morning until the evening without havibg a huge sillahe (which I personally don’t like). Maybe it’s one for the summer but I’m enjoying it also during this autumn season.

I'm selling an unused 50 ml bottle on Ebay and Vinted, if anyone is interested, that was bought directly in the Miller Harris summer sale. I like MH’s other green fragrances like Cassis en Feuille and Pamplemousse, but there’s too much going on here. The combination of sweet fig and nettle isn’t as nice as having pure fresh green leaf in Cassis en Feuille or a juicy fig in Acqua di Parma’s Fico di Amalfi. The green in this is a sickly, sour, and pungent green that doesn’t sit well with me, unlike the green in Cassis. Who wants to smell like a park overgrown with weeds? Thank God the longevity in this is very weak since it is almost a scrubber for me.

This fragrance took me on a JOURNEY!! The first spray was so green and lovely. Very fresh. Instantly loved it!! A few minutes later I smelled my arm and it was very off putting for me. It had completely changed and now reminded me of cannibis (I don’t know what nettle smells like so this is my only comparison). Half hour later I went to go wash it off and smelled one last time and that was completely gone and it was sooooo lovely!!! I love it- then I hated it- then I loved it, I’m going to wear it a few more times and see what I think.

it's a pity Wander Through The Parks doesn't get more reviews. this is a play with grasses, I have no idea what the nettle is smelled like, I can image the fig here is very prominent and appealing. Wander has a very distinct vibe somewhat also like the gauva fruit, or it's a bowl of spinach soup, or the good for the health celery. it's a play in green with content and I like to play within.

As a lover of nature I spend a lot of time in the woods. In spring the woods are full with nettles and often we collect the seeds from the female plants ( there’s a difference). I can clearly smell the nettles in it and this perfume is reminding me of them. My partner shares my sentiment.

Opens with a strong "fresh cut grass" top note that dies down after about 10-15 mins. Then I get more of a slightly sweetened fruity/berry green and woody scent. Overall it is a very soft outdoorsy (name matches the scent well) fragrance that only lasts about 4 hours on my skin.

If you love green, you have to try this. Mainly bitter green with small amount of fruits in the opening and hint of fig and floral in the middle. Projection is average, longevity is not that bad on me. Love it.

It's extremely simple and forgettable fragrance, pretty inoffensive and pleasant thought, I expected more originality from MH. Herbal, bit savour, fresh, very light and not lasting. Sold it after few tests.

At first try, not as complex or green as I thought it would be. Faded to base notes very quickly on my skin, in 1-1.5 hours, and of these mostly musk was left. I will try this again, but right now, "meh".
