This has been in heavy rotation during these cold winter UK months. I disagree with those who say lts a "poison-lite"... Well if we are comparing to the 80s poison, maybe. But I find this dupe to smell more like poison (80s), than the weak plum and sugar water that Dior have the cheek to sell as Poison these days. The current poison is unbelievably WEAK SHOWS how bad things are when the cheapie dupes are better in both smell and longevity than the luxury priced Dior. Personally I love this fume, and hope they carry on making it perpetually, so I never run out of my fave scent for glamorous nights in the dark cold winter. wearing in the summer - don't even go there!! Great fume.

I am over the moon happy with this purchase! Chacal is absolutely gorgeous on its own... but also as a vintage Dior Poison/ Poison de Extrait! It is fruity, complex, varied, spicy and a true 80s bomb. The packaging is better than current Dior (I mean the box). The sprayer is pressurized yes but I am so happy with it because I just press once and it sprays on and on and on so I can drench myself in this gorgeous perfume. I think I will use my bottle really really fast. As a Poison fan or a fan of 80s perfumes, buy Chacal you will adore it! 10/10

I don't think I can add anything that hasn't already been said here about Chackal. Regardless of its atrocious resemblance to poison, this English perfume leaves a vampire trail behind it. 80s type mix of abstract flowers, abstract plum and a sweetness that has nothing to do with anything childish.It seems to me that it has its own undertone, honeyed and a little herbaceous (sharing part of the smell with Passion by ET). Chackal, some good fishnet stockings and a good concert, that would be a perfect combination

Wow it's definitely the poison i used to smell on almost every girl back in the 80 and 90-ties. Then i hated it because everyone stank of poison or opium. But now 35 years later i adore these two. And the ML dupes for both are very, very good and i mean the original perfumes back then. Nowadays the origanals of these two classics are watered down and costs a fortune. You can beter buy the ML dupes for less than 5 dollar a piece and they resemble the good and strong originals of 30 years ago.

I bought this for just £5.40 on ebay. I didn't know anything about its familiarity with Poison the female fragrance but this is unisex for me after the initial blast of the opening. Its pleasant enough and I'm pleased I bought it by mistake. Great value for money and for a 50ml bottle it will last quite a while. Two squirts is more than enough and the performance is excellent! This is an 8 out of 10 all the way and for a fiver you can't lose!

another hidden gem for those who love old vintage dior poison and want to smell like opium again funny how things change ten years back you wouldn't compare them but with all the reformulations taking taking place even cheap perfumes are smelling better than the original ones these days this is a mini poison lasts long and you can buy a dozen for the price of one cd a beautiful addition to any wardrobe good for layering too

Save your money and purchase this instead of the pitiful current version of Poison because it is truer to the original Poison and performs better . Like MANY other classics that are terribly reformulated , Poison is thin and does not last long . I do not find it worth the price at all. ( I also love Hawaii and Vogue from Milton Lloyd . These last several hours easily when I spray them on my clothing !!)

This is just as siropy and deep as the og 80 s Poison! Bought 4 bottles of it for less then 6€ each and no delivery costs, ridiculous! can therefor save the precious juice in my og 80s Poison bottle, just one tiny little spray and a lot of chacals create a poisoned heaven!

This is an old formula of Dior's POISON (end of 1990'q). Perfect well balanced, great power. Love it, more than the actual Poison. Very, very cheap, for 10€ on Amazon.fr!

Update: it lasted 12hrs on my skin and in the morning some 8hrs after the 12hrs I can still smell it but just as a skin scent!

I haven't smelled Dior's Poison for years; like Opium, it was inescapable in the 80s. I had the misfortune to share a flat with a chain-smoking woman who had a lax attitude to cleaning and laundry; she used to allow her dirty clothing to pile up and sometimes bought new instead of washing the old. She loved Poison. She carried a bottle around with her and resprayed regularly. I don't know anything about the current version of Poison, but the original had incredible toxic BUILDING (never mind room!) filling sillage and longevity and needed very light application. My flatmate's attitude to Poison was anti-social; she may have been partially anosmic but despite regular, polite requests from friends and acquaintances she continued to misuse it. Our flat stunk of stale cigarette smoke and dirty laundry (soaked in the ubiquitous Poison). Partially for these reasons, I ended up moving out; ironically, I bought myself a bottle of Poison shortly afterwards. I can't compare Chacal to the current formulation of Poison, but it does smell very similar to (my memories of) the original fragrance, minus its nuclear power; nonetheless it still requires light application, which is easier said than done! I bought 55ml PDT (Parfum De Toilette) from a seller on Amazon UK for £2.10 GBP + £1.94 P&P. I tried to spray a little tonight, to test it. This is not easy, as the spray comes out with the force of water from a garden hose! I bought another Milton Lloyd perfume at the same time, the spray of which is equally over-enthusiastic; I've read quite a few reviews of ML fragrances and this seems a common complaint. When initially putting nose to wrist, there is an unpleasant undertone to Chacal. I don't know its cause and I nearly scrubbed before allowing it to dry down fully. This note dissipates within 30 minutes though, so shouldn't be an issue. Chacal is strong and I honestly think you should apply at least 30 minutes before leaving the house. It is sick-headache inducing stuff and is definitely (like Poison) a polarising fragrance; you will either love it or hate it. If you like Poison (or Jeanne Arthes Cobra for that matter) give this a try. It is ridiculously cheap, but doesn't smell it and puts the price, sillage and staying power of many niche/designer fragrances into perspective. Sillage: Heavy - room-filling! Longevity: I will update, but other users suggest 7hrs+ which seems likely. I sprayed the back of my right hand initially; despite washing three times since then I can still smell it. Kudos for staying power. I like it.

I had a cold when this first arrived in the mail and naturally it just smelt of rotten cabbage to me. Nasal passages fully operational now, I've given it it's first test-drive today. Flipping heck I can definitely see the Poison connection. If a newer, lighter version of P. had come out named 'Light' or 'Nude' or similar I'd say this matches it completely. I get the Oriental hit initially which softens into a warm Sandalwood, with Carnation drifting in and out. Eventually the Heliotrope arrives making the whole experience very pleasant. I'm a bit excited about this fragrance as it reminds of the Poison of the 80's before it was reformulated. Ok, so there is a need to top up more readily than the real stuff, but at these prices who cares? After wearing this all day, I'm now left with whiffs of 'Opium' which is crazy! For those who like these 2 perfumes but refuse to pay what amounts to one week's salary, I'd give this one a try. I think you'll be surprised.

I really like this. I’m usually into powdery fragrances, but wanted something different. My mum used to wear the old Poison in the 80s, I remember liking it, I also have Poison Girl which I love. But I’ve heard that the new Poison formulation isn’t up to scratch and for the price, I can’t really justify that. So I thought, what the hell, for about £5.50.. I’ll give this a whirl! First Milton Lloyd perfume I’ve tried. I like the box, the bottle is a bit basic, but so what. The perfume is really nice and as someone else said, gives me 80s vibes! Very long lasting and I don’t think it smells as cheap as it really is. 13 year old daughter even liked it, a few hours later, she wasn’t keen initially.

On first sniff, this smells EXACTLY like LouLou by Cacharel !! And it’s suuuuuper strong but there is one problem...... It has a very screechy and loud citrus note that i really really dislike and that stings my nose. All of the other notes are amazing, the longevity is great and the sillage is really good too, but this note is probably what’s gonna make me sell this perfume. Too bad!!

It's real powerhouse. Both projection and sillage are impressive. I became anosmic to it rather soon, but other people can smell it on me after 10-12 hours. Lasts forever on clothes. Don't get any citrus, only soft spicy sweetness. Good value for money.

Longevity update: Chacal is a skin scent after 6 hours or so, but I could still smell it on my wrists 12 hours after the initial application. At less than £5 GBP for 55ml (including P&P) you don't have much to lose, even if you don't like it!

This a dead ringer for Poison and is ideal for those who find Poison too nuclear. The tuberose is there, as is the very good longevity. If you hate Poison, avoid this. If you like it then you've got a great bargain on your hands.

What a wonderful brand.. For what are ridiculous prices, I got a few bottles by them, Chacal among others. They smell fantastic on their own, or layered, and the bottles are just perfect vintage vibe: little wonders for peanuts!

I just got this. its poison alright, very strong too! I put a 1 second squirt on my neck and its powerfull as hell. Im glad I have this in my fragrance wardrobe. next one Im buying it love, pure gold lady or miss tutu

This feels like old Poison. Get this instead of the current formula. I like to layer Kentali (Opium_ dupe with it) for a custom formula. Cant go wrong with this if your a Poison fan.

Smells exactly like poisonous bug spray. Not kidding. Chacal smells exactly like the spray used to kill flying insects, where it tells you to vacate the room, open the windows and not visit the room you sprayed it in for 30 minutes. It's so horrifically toxic and medicinal smelling, it's hard to even decipher any individual notes. Just a vile, putrid mess.

As a vintage Poison enthusiast, I must say this is SPOT on to the bottles of Poison I do have. It opens with a thick and heady blast of spices and amber, but then the white florals and honey really start to come in a few minutes later and it all settles down into a wonderful mix of the two with a slightly powdery edge. The scent profile is a beautiful and BIG 80's style perfume and it takes no prisoners in that regard. It's complex and deep, definitely a far cry from today's fragrances. You don't smell anything like this anymore, and what does remain from vintage designer brands has been reformulated to the point where it doesn't resemble the original. When I compare it side to side with Poison (I have a 100ml vintage splash bottle from 1990 and a 7ml Esprit de Parfum and the legendary 10ml Parfum) I must say that Chacal has retained a lot of the luminous qualities that have unfortunately changed in my bottles of Poison due to their age. Vintage Poison has all the spice, amber and honey but the florals are less pronounced and the fruits have almost all turned as there is an aggressive weirdness in the opening half hour of wear. Chacal is a beautiful stand out and it smells EXACTLY like the vintage Poison but with all of its fruity and floral aspects still fresh and glorious. It wears like an EDT and it doesn't have the beast mode performance I personally want but it smells so divine I can overlook that.

I never owned the original vintage Poison and I don't wear this dupe for being a Poison dupe but I really love it for its own right. I mean, I can be very snobbish with scents and usually I don't buy and use dupes, smell-alikes or 'ispired-by' fragrances because they are usually have a very cheap smelling base - ridiculous price = cheap ingredients, I guess. But this scent is wonderful wether it resembles any formula of Poison or not. It's warm, spicey, oriental, fruity, tuberose, very feminine and goes beautifully with many with my other fragrances when layered. And the most important thing for me that it may be a bit linear and not a masterpiece as DIor Poison but it has no traces of cheap smelling base notes. I don't find it very long lasting nor strong at all, actually, even with this pressurized sprayer I can't really overdo it, bióut that's why it's so wearable even in hot summer nights:)

I love most of the Poison range. I have owned Hypnotic Poison, Pure Poison and I have a bottle of Midnight Poison which I use SPARINGLY! However I have never had the original but it is one I have always wanted. Why bother when I can use Chacal? This is SUCH a close match, but it smells a lot like Cacharel's Lou Lou as well, it reminds me of my Grandma (in a good way), she used to wear this... I really love finding affordable fragrances that still enable me to wear perfume everyday, as I am not working at the moment and so I'm just at home... so I don't want to waste my really good fragrances. I save those for days I leave the house or have an event to attend. With Chacal I can wear this every day if I really wanted to, and feel like I'm wearing something really fabulous but I know I have only spent a few dollars!

shorter review as I’m testing the 4 Milton Lloyd perfumes I grabbed but. this smells exactly like poison. and frankly this has more of the familiar scent qualities of the poison I grew up with which I now recognize as the vintage poison (as is the case with any non-global superpower country, everything was dated/held back by a decade just until maybe the 2010s. I had the Betamax and the VHS and the cassette boombox as a 2001 baby). testing it out with poison (new one) made me realize that new poison is just. not it. there’s a certain sweetness and depth that chacal has that poison doesn’t (new one is slightly screechier) will update once I’ve run the gamut on the perfumes I got.

When I first sprayed this on I wasn't impressed and it smelled a bit like a cheap air freshener. However, as it warmed up on my skin I could smell the likeness of Poison and throughout the day it became better and better. Staying power is great and I think I could put this on in the morning and still smell it in the evening. Soooo much cheaper than buying Poison as long as you can wait 30 minutes to an hour for the best of it to come through.

What a strange perfume. I only tested in a shop today but I quickly looked to see what it was duping first and when I saw Poison I was shocked because it smelled absolutely nothing like it. I couldn't even tell it was meant to be Poison at all so I didn't buy it. Now I'm home, a few hours later and my hand actually does smell like Poison. I think I'll nip back in tomorrow and grab one to test properly.

This smells incredibly like Poison. However, one look at the side of packaging made me reluctant to spray it on myself. 76% alcohol! Also contains Butane and Propane. Hmmm. I am by no means a perfume snob- and someone please correct me if all synthetic fragrances contain the above, but i just didnt feel comfortable spraying it on my skin. I think it would make a divine air freshener though!

I have been wanting to try this for a LONG time but cannot ever even find it for sale on ebay. There is ONE for sale on Amazon but it is 40. For just 50 or so, I can purchase a partially used 1.7 ounce of actual vintage poison. I cannot bring myself to pay 40 for this dupe. If anyone wants to sell theirs for less than 40, I am your woman. That is much too high for such a small bottle.

Western perfumes DO contain alcohol - that is how it evaporates on your skin - otherwise you would have wet skin. If Gingercat is going to take this attitude, she really needs to throw ALL her bottles of Western perfume away and switch to Middle Eastern perfumes, which are oil based.

This is a little like Poison without the "wow", it's ok and more like a summer version of the original. Well worth a try for the price.
