Chique

One sniff took me right back to the early eighties. It’s lovely, dries down to a powdery heaven. I don’t have a vintage one to compare it to, but it smells just how I remember it. It’s great and so inexpensive. The bottle is one of the worst in my collection, but I’ll forgive them because it’s the smell that counts.

Chique is an excellent perfume, often overlooked because of its rather plain packaging. However, inside its a citrussy mossy treat and lasts for ages! Totally worth buying and it's not expensive either. Not really for the youngsters though!(unless they like mossy chypre type stuff)

This one is a gem for oak moss lovers. Completely unisex, cheap, smells great. If only it was stronger and easier to find. I think it might be owned by Taylor of London these days.

I purchased it today after years of deliberations and... I'm not quite satisfied - luckily my bottle is a tiny one... It is a reminder of Paloma Picasso but a very distant one - there in too much aldehyde and too much musk in it in order to "mock" Paloma but still it is a respectable lady scent, reminding of the 80's. I love the vibe and atmosphere it brings on but I'm unable to wear it myself I'm afraid:( Still, I would love to smell it on others.

This is a true hidden gem! I agree that it may remind one on Parfum de Peau (however, Chique is woodsier, not at all sweet, and not as loud and overpowering as the current version of PdP, and LOTV is more dominant in it than rose) and I see the connection between Paloma Picasso, too, but Chique is much simpler than PP. I would add Comme une Evidence by Yves Rocher to this line if someone is wondering how Chique may smell like. Anyway, so far this is the most beautiful ugly bottled affordable dupe I've ever smelled. Please try not to like it because of any other perfume it may remind one but for it's own right. It is floral, a beautiful LOTV blended with rose, ylang-ylang and a hunt of jasmine that are based on woody and mossy notes. The composition is a classic floral-chypre with excellent quality and I mean excellent quality not only for the price but even if compared to any designer brands. The bottle... well, this is the first time I'm able to ignore the look of the bottle. I wonder how much time it took for the marketing team to find out a colour combination as unattractive as this:) It last forever on my skin and I have to be really patient, wait at least half an hour or more for it becoming 'itself' after the harsh muguet opening At that stage it reminds me on A very old, turned bottle of Diorissimo that is not ugly but one knows that it could be much more beautiful, too. After the first hour of wearing, Chique is a classic style chyprewith a strong character. I really recommend it.

Cheap and "chique" indeed. The bottle is so ugly that it's not even fun ugly. I'd love to decant it but this bottle is pressurised with butane. 😳 Maybe I can roll some black sparkly vinyl contact paper on it, or something. Smells good on clothes and skin but the first blast isn't the best moment. It does get closer to Paloma after an hour or two.

I absolutely LOVE this fragrance! It is a *dead wringer,* for 1970s vintage "Coriandre," by Jean Couturier - at a fraction of the price. A little goes a long way, with this inexpensive beauty!
