Grasse Experience

I am not really a chypre girl in general, but this summer I found myself reaching for Grasse Experience when I fancied a subtle aromatic backdrop scent, even in warm weather. Despite the "atomic" burst coming out of the spray bottle the initial sharpness mellows down very quickly to a well balanced, sexy and classy scent cloud. Hard to imagine this would offend anyone if used in moderation yet bold enough and has way more balls than your typical office scent category. I have not tried layering but suspect this will be another ML winner in that category, too.

Only arrived 3 days ago and it seems to be the only one I go to since. I'm really enjoying it. Not had a perfume problem for too long so I've never tried the original AE but I'm very tempted to test. Very addictive perfume and I'm so getting into chypres now. I tried putting Giorgio Red over the Grasse and that really works well; may be an option to 'thicken' up the Grasse for evenings, but I'm perfectly happy with Grasse on it's own Wonderful discovery, and my favourite Milton Lloyd to date.

If you're familiar with Coriandre, then imagine that along with Aromatics Elixir all in one spray. It is a delight, especially as its cost is fractional compared to those two originals. The only downside to ML fragrances is the spray, which is a continuous, rather than a controlled spritz. Therefore, a 50ml bottle won't last as long as you might think so price-wise it's not necessarily the bargain it appears to be. Still good value for its performance though.

The well dressed spicy creamy Chanel, in a delicious and strict Coco vintage style, rolling in the fragrant hay. Very potent, it smells like breaking the rules, summer during harvest, the hot sunny brown soil, the golden herbal air, the honeyed silky sap, with something timeless, intelligent, rich, a kind of clever maturity. Something free, too. Unconventional. Obviously not for everyone but I don’t want to be like everyone.

An excellent scent- doesn't smell cheap! It's a sensible grown up chypre that costs less than a bottle of wine. I love it. Very longlasting. If you like perfumes in the same vein as aromatics Elixir then you'll love this too.

AE is my comfort perfume, the kind of thing I like to spray on before bed, so I always keep a dupe to spray at home without wasting the actual AE. I've seen people comparing this both to AE and Cabochard, another absolute favorite of mine, but I see 0 similarity with Cabochard. More aldheidic, less "dirty" than AE. Also less chamomile (which is actually my favorite part about AE). However, for 4€ it's actually good as a comfort scent and quite close to the original. Obviously not as lasting, but it's actually great sillage and projection for the price. Super cool continuous spray atomizer, too. I thing I'll get more dupes from this brand

This easy, breezy fragrance is great to spritz during the day at work if I feel I need a boost. Layers well with my signature, Aromatics Elixir (Grasse is a little sweeter and soapier), which I apply after my morning shower. Grasse Experience is refreshing enough to put a spring in my step if I'm flagging at the office, but it's also great to apply before a workout. I find it invigorates amd calms me during Pilates whilst its lovely sillage of scent wafts around me. For around 3 quid at my local chemist or a fiver on Amazon - you can't go wrong! :)

If you're into chypre and you can stomach the first minute of the opening, give this one a go. I am not good at isolating ingredients but am almost certain there's a bit of a musky tone to this one - more so than Aromatics. The farther it goes into the drydown, the more I like it. My dry skin sucks a fragrance dry in an hour if it's a poor dupe. Milton Lloyd's ones (for the most) do last rather well on my skin. Just wish the bottle wasn't pressurised. I'm blown away by the flood of juice that comes from that tiny nozzle!

This is my "keep in the car, forgot to put perfume on, cheap as chips, go for it" scent. £4 free postage 100 mls from eBay. And it is a very very good facsimile of Aromatics. If I had never smelled the clinique original, I would be gobsmacked at the quality of this. Its lovely. I'd like to try other Milton Lloyd's...do they have a Fendi substitute?

An intriguing mix of burnt rubber and hairspray form the top notes. Next come civet musk and violets. Quickly moves to almonds, nuts, aldehydes and more civet. Weirdest stuff I've ever worn and I think I'll have a love/hate relationship with this one.

I don't love this which is partly my fault- I got seduced by the notes and reviews and forgot how unsophisticated my nose is. Nothing smells recognisable here. I can't pull out any bergamot / green notes / chamomile / rose- all notes I am familiar with. (I have some perfumes with vetiver and patchouli but I'm less familiar with those) I don't know what I am smelling to be honest. It reminds me of L'Aimant and Knowing, but that might just be the style / age because they don't have much in common. It just... smells. Kind of a slimy soapy smell. I can't even say it smells bad.

Worst perfume I ever smelled, burnt rubber, disgusting.

Ik heb 4 Milton lloyd geuren gekocht,waaronder , Grasse experience,op basis van de ingrediënten.Ik kende Elixir niet,maar heb ook de reviews daarover gelezen omdat het daar mee vergeleken werd.Ik vind dit een lekkere geur, chypre,bloemig,groen.Gelukkig geen suikerspin geur.Ik had de geur wel wat aparter verwacht,had van mij ook wel wat krachtiger mogen zijn,in musk ,vetiver,groene noten. Blijft misschien een uur of 3 hangen bij mij,niet zo lang dus,maar veel langer op kleding of bijvoorbeeld een leren armbandje

As for comparisons/suggestions, I see ZERO similarity with Cabaret or Cabochard. This is potent and herbal, very much like Aromatics Elixir, but not as sweet. No sweetness here whatsoever, I get no florals either, somewhat aldehydic but herbal more so. Striking cumin and patchouli, vetiver. Even coriander, although not listed as a note.. Herby and green and maybe some geranium, and a drop of chamomile. Very potent, lasts ages. I love its sprayer, it would be more like a vaporizer. Leans towards masculine.

Like most Milton Lloyd creations, this one also needs you to "get past" the opening !!! Patience and an open mind (nose) is required. I get the similarity to Clinique Aromatics Elixix....however...this is not a full clone... GE is fresher and more citric...with the aromatic/herbal vibes still present. Not bad for $7. Wait for the drydown !!!! Chypre/fresh-ish green type scent,IMO. A decent "like" for me.

i haven't tried this yet, but judging from the polarized reviews, it sounds like it should be pretty close to the real thing (which is one of my most favorite perfumes.) will procure and then review properly.

This fragrance is absolutely lovely, my Mum wears it and smells amazing. The price is excellent and you can enjoy it with no guilt. Try it ladies it's lovely and so like Aromatics Elixir.

For me, it's similar to AE only in the beginning. After 1 hour AE is distinctively mossy, smoked vetiver scent. They can be used together for layering, IMHO.
