Henna

I am generally very impressed with the quality of the Milton Lloyd "dupes". This one however falls a little short at closer inspection. Good enough as I hate to run out of my vintage Hypnotic Poison (got about 50ml left) but it doesn't have the finesse of the real thing. The opening is quite true to the original but there is something in the drydown of Henna that makes me cringe, what a shame, it's that tiny bit of cheap generic amber that ruins the show for me. Dont get me wrong, I will certainly use up the bottle but it has its place as a casual fragrance and for layering. Actually Milton Lloyd Henna was rehabilitated to some degree when I layered it with a jasmin rollerball attar, something I have also done with Hypnotic Poison and a TM Alien oil in the past. So if you have some kind of basic jasmin fragrance, have a go at layering with Henna and see what happens, it might improve your experience.

Lovely, sweet and soft scent. Almond, vanilla, amber... I'm not good at detecting notes nor have I ever smelled HP so I can't comment on the dupe thing. Lasting power and sillage seem to be moderate, enough for me. I'm a little surprised this one hasn't got more reviews and people loving it :) Edit: Lasting power is not bad on skin, but on clothes it seems to stay forever (and smells really good on them). I wore a cardigan weeks ago and it still smells like it.

PS For those who also have Milton Lloyd's Night Flower (TF Black Orchid dupe) I suggest you layer Henna over that - amazing result, they both complement each other perfectly.

to all Milton Lloyd fans.. they have some new fragrances on their website not on this database. one is called I am I feel and is a very good dupe of la vie est belle. another two are Natalie and emile. if they add them to the database I could review them..

I bought this based on its description. unfortunately on me it smells like peach, a little sweet then play dough. I have no idea if it is meant to be a dupe of anything. its just not great on me but the pressurised spray makes it a great air freshener!

I never thought of layering this one (except with an hypnotic poison oil) but tried it with night flower and yes it works. also goes well with red shoe....

For comparison I have the Dior HP EDP concentration. It is a liquorice, vanilla and almonds bomb. Years back I had a vintage EDT in a rubber bottle. Good news, Henna comes a lot closer to the vintage EDT which is so hard to find nowadays. When i first smelt Henna I thought oh no that's not a good dupe at all. But then I was comparing it with the current EDP. When I had Henna on for a while I realised it smells like the way way nicer and more complex EDT of the 90s. I love Milton Lloyd for many reasons, but one of them is: their dupes smell like the vintage stuff! Same with Dior Poison - ML Chacal! Chacal is way more superior to current Poison formulation. Even Night Flower ML is more like the OG Tom Ford Black Orchid.

Wow here's a blast from the past! first frag. Very warm, lovely and inexpensive but NOT cheap smelling like those imitation smells. Don't be too liberal spraying it if you will get people moving away from you. They do another one I like too, which is an opposite smell I think. If you like string and warm, this is a good one

All I got from this was a strong peach note, didn’t get any Hypnotic Poison notes from it all, not an offensive fragrance, if you like sweet peach scents it may be for you, although longevity on this one was poor. Expected more as Chacal (Poison) and Vogue (No. 5) by Milton Lloyd/UTC are fantastic dupes of the originals.

This is the first Milton Lloyd I've bought and its a pleasant surprise. It doesnt smell cheap. From this one I get pink grapefruit, peach, almond and a dab of vanilla. I wish it were stronger and lasted longer. As with Tweed, you press the button a smidgeon and gallons fly out.

OMG Wonder if I got a duff bottle, because this is actually awful. Imagine being locked in a musty wardrobe, thick with dust, filled with decaying fur coats and the odd mothball. It lasted for ages, unfortunately...

The nozzle is built like an aerosol spray. It doesn't stop until you lift your finger. I'm getting a bitter note at the end. What is it?
