I’ve just got this and tested it next to vintage Loulou. Very similar, not exact but it is a good tribute. The dry down differs in that it’s more a sweet, powdery trail-off. I will carry on using this for everyday wear and keep my vintage Loulou for best.

A very accurate dupe for vintage LouLou but with an added sugary sourness that reminds me of fizzy sweets that have fallen into the same handbag as this rich and heady perfume. Yes there is that dolls head sweetness there too. I grew up in the 80s/90s and I remember when Coty and Cacharel took my high school by storm. It was the time of New Kids on the Block and Benetton bags (and their controversial ads) The biggest fragrances at the time were Body Shop's Dewberry, then Vanilla and Mostly Musk. When some of my peers were knocked out by my RE teacher's fragrance they were soon begging their parents for Guerlain's Samsara and Calvin Klein's Obsession and Eternity but that was a rare moment. They were mostly kept happy by Coty's Exclamation and Cacharel's Eden, Anaïs Anaïs and the very lovely and very grown up LouLou. I am not sure what the teachers made of it all but I do remember my weirdly hirsute music teacher saying the room smelled like a 'tart's handkerchief'!! (This was Catholic school oddly enough) My own personal favourite in this era was the quieter and more demure Forever by Yardley. But LouLou was truly something special when it first arrived on the scene. How was I to know then that my foolish youthful days were in a period of some of the affordable greats being made in perfumery?!

so this is like lou lou from years ago? I must try it! update.. I bought this today and at first couldn't decide if it was like loulou from years ago. I had to try it several times without any other fragrances on me (I also bought some al haramain oils at the same time). yes it is like lou lou from my teens but I think my tastes have changed because Im not blown away by it like I used to be. however I do prefer it to the reformulated loulou that is in the shops now

Sometime ago I bought this and other 3 scents from Milton Lloyd...and then I received a sample of Lou Lou from Cacharel. I found them quite similar!So when I used Lou lou almost every co-worker asked me what I am wearing, thinking it was a very very good perfume, and while I used Jo-Jo, the scent kind of changed a little bit on me, the longevity was still good, but the smell was something else.

I'm very fond of LouLou and still have a bottle. My first impression of JoJo was very unlike Lou Lou, slightly burnt metal with a bit of burnt rubber. After a while, i could detect resemblance to Lou Lou with its pungent poppy raspy powdery sweetness but it feels like a faded photo of a famous vibrant painting. This miss the impact power of Lou Lou and it's creamier, softer, more hazy and with some unrecognised aldehydes thrown in. It feels more like a dream than an experience. To me it left an unsatisfactory feeling of not being enough.
