The Man Silver

Fragrantica has finally added my baby into its database so I can now deliver a completely non-biased review on this masterpiece of a scent. The man silver as you know is a clone of King Kouros. Now, we all know Kouros is still a banger in its current formulation but compared to its older self it is unfortunately quite lacklustre. This is where the man silver prevails. The man silver (near) perfectly captures the essence of the Kouros we all used to know and love. Boasting incredible performance and recapturing that animalic powerhouse type feel. I usually get 12+ hr longevity with massive projection for at least the first 4hrs - after that it still remains very noticeable until around the 10hr mark. On top of all this, the man silver comes with a dirt-cheap price tag (£5.50 in the uk on average and currently on sale for £3.90!!) making it the greatest value for money fragrance on the market in my opinion. Furthermore it does not smell cheap at all, very well blended. The only thing that this clone is missing is that sweet dirty honey that was in the older batches. Don’t get me wrong it’s still there but not as much so as the older Kouros bottles. If you enjoy that part of Kouros, another clone worth trying would be SAK PASE by Rich & Ritz. That one is also extremely similar to vintage Kouros and performs great however it lacks the animalic musky elements found here which is why I think the man silver edges over SAK PASE. Lastly, women love this stuff on me. Wearing this garners me unbelievable amounts of attention every time I have worn it out or to dates etc. it’s basically a wingman. Go ahead and buy yourself a bottle. At this price and quality you can’t go wrong. This stuff is the absolute balls and people will know when they smell it. If I can rock this at 20 as a signature then pretty much anyone of you can (well if you still got balls that is - no liberal snowflakes here). Enjoy!

For those who don ́t know this fragrance but are curious (and I can imagine why), read this : Mix 80% "Kouros" with "20% Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui" and there you have it. My perception is there are notes from both, but the Kouros side is more present at the heart while the top notes resemble to Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui. It ́s like a Skanky Oscar. A great surprise. I think this is clearly the closest (too close) fragrance to Kouros that I have ever smelled. It will sit between the vintage and the modern Kouros. There are clones farther from the original than this. This one could definitely be a Kouros flanker even if it is more Kouros than a Kouros flanker could possibly be. Strength is good enough and it will sit in the air for a very long time. Apply with caution. 2-3 small sprays here and there without exaggeration and you ́re set. But it ́s polarizing and you will get noticed. Use it just like you use Kouros. At a certain point in the early dry down, I compared it side by side with Kouros, one in each wrist, and they were indeed very very similar. As said, i don ́t know any fragrance closer to the Kouros "heart" than this. If you ́re a Kouros (or Oscar) fan, it ́s totally worth it. Excelent price.

Gotta say it straight out the gate ,this juice is shockingly good for the price. I own all versions of Kouros ( prefer the funk factory vintages ), and while I do prefer the old-school beast mode bottles, I still enjoy the modern one. This one? It nails the vibe. To my nose, it sits right between the vintage and the current version , a little dirtier than the modern, but not quite as unapologetically wild as the originals. Honestly, I’m impressed. They managed to bottle something really solid for pocket change. Performance? Decent, I get around 6 hours on my skin. Highly recommend if you’re curious about vintage Kouros but not ready to drop a small fortune. This gives you the idea, the attitude, the swagger , and if you dig it, go chase down a vintage bottle. Just maybe warn your friends first. 👍

Oh finally this is added. Man Silver EDT smells so very close to old vintage kouros! It dupes and clones the old versions and initial first batches and is beast mode...lasts forever on your clothes and 12+hrs on the skin, projects madly first few hours....very unforgiving for today's youths and young men, they won't be able to wear this. I've worn alot of kouros starting from the time it came out since I was a young teen and this is what you should get and at least have a bottle to keep and know how vintage and how kourus started and not the current kouros formulation. It's so cheap too.

Ohhhh boy, this stuff is ridiculously good! Bought it for £5 having sampled The Man Cobalt(Fahrenheit clone), and this is every bit of a banger. Mimics the OG Kouros incredibly well, lasts for 12 hours on skin and days on clothes. Compliments aplenty too, everyone recognises the classic scent profile. Bought 4 more bottles of this and 4x Cobalt for a combined £25. Long lasting, versatile, dumb, cheap, easy reach that I'm giving 9/10

Finally on Fragrantica! What a great clone of the early Kouros bottling, classic powerhouse scent that wants to put hairs on your chest!! This is not going to be for everybody, super green and quite heavy so be warned if you're not 100% sold on the idea of classic "old man" fragrances. If you're getting into classic scents like me, this is one of the greatest bargains to be had. 24hr longevity, huge sillage. 10/10!!!

Firstly, I have I to disagree with those who say it takes longer than current formulations. I own both, the original 2021 Kouros and this one and the original lasts and projects way longer. On the other hand, the current formulation is "dirtier" than ML-TMS. And, finally, I prefer the original... but that doesn't mean this ML isn't good, but... I'll stick with the original, even reformulated as it is.

Smells like the old school Kouros I remember, lasts longer and projects better than my current Kouros! The king is dead... Long live the king! Smells more musky and pissy and lasts a good 10-12hrs on my skin and a week or so on clothing, love this 🤍 oh and phenomenal value, further proof of how we get ripped off by paying for a name!

Bought it a few years ago. This 5,- bottle is exceptionally good on every level. No-brainers from this brand are: - Leo (crazy performance) - The man silver (crazy performance) - Spirit of heaven (crazy performance) - Mojo (good performance) - The man cobalt (good performance) Honorable mention: - Victor (average / soft performance)

Wow this is vintage Kouros, this is beast mode strong. Nostalgia trip in a bottle. Takes me back to the hazy days of the 80s. This is very much not a blind buy, if your not a fan of powerful fragrances this is not for you. But if your man enough give it a go, but only if your man enough..

Maybe less refined than the og Kouros but if you like that dna you can't go wrong with this one, and the price is truly shockingly low.

Just got a bottle of Amazon 2 days ago after reading all the reviews and seeing the low price, which was less than a glass of wine at a restaurant. I was warned about the pressurized sprayer, so I started out very cautiously; immediately reminded me of how my dad smelled in the early/mid 80's. As I mentioned in some other review, he was big on Kouros, Santos and Paco Rabanne. So in that sense, it should mostly match vintage Kouros, since scent-memory is a powerful thing.;-) People mention how this one is more animalic than current (post 2015) formulation of Kouros, but I'm not getting this at all. Floral, soapy...very soapy! It evolves a bit more towards classic barber shop style, without getting as 'green' as some other classics... After the soapy opening, maybe 5-10 minutes later the honey, vanilla and musky notes show their heads, but still not overbearing. I *think* this might be office-safe for me, but time will tell if I'll be getting calls from HR or unsolicited phone numbers. Since a year or so, for office use, I've been switching between Mont Blanc Explorer and Jaguar For Men, and every now and then Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver EDP if I need a little mana potion of "Self Confidence +11" when takin' care of business. Very curious how this will fare there. It's strong, but not beast mode, at least not on me. I like it, the missus didn't. "Cloying, headache" was her first comment.

I have the vintage version of kouros.. I recently got the silver man too That's right.. the assessment that the two perfumes are very similar was true. The only subtle difference is that Silver Man lacks the civet scent. Instead, I like the unique leathery, animal-like scent that comes from Castorium. The key point of kouros is its unique, dirty, civet-like scent. Anyway, it is almost 95% similar to the Kouros scent, so if you are curious about the Kouros scent, you won't regret buying it blindly.

Menos mal que ya va asentándose y dulcificado su aroma. No apto para todo el mundo, la verdad es que por el precio que tiene se puede hacer la compra a ciegas y si te gusta pues habrás triunfado, yo todavía la estoy asimilando.

Got this today and I can say, not matter its Kouros-y type, its not syntetic at all. Actually its not my type of a fragrance but I feel it will grow for me. Old type fragrances are something Im exploring for now. You will not mistake if you buy this for yourself. Im recommending it. Bravo Milton Lloyd!

It is close to Kouros but there is a difference, it's a little more "rough round the edges" Longevity and silage no problems. The dry down is good, like a soapy Kouros. Phenomenal value.

This is basically kouros for peanuts, though it does remind me a bit of antaeus, too. ( let it sit 20 minutes, the opening spice can be pretty unbearable ). Lasts long, cheap as f.

Kourous is typically dry, this is adding wetness and green nuances ... Great value for money. Though gets a little heavy

If youre not man enough, the fragrance will wear you.

Not for me. Blind buy (big mistake). Beast mode and excellent clone of vintage Kouros but I don't like it at all. Any of them both. Fortunately price was just 5'95€ on Amazon. I will give away to some of my friends who appreciate it. By the way I bought also Quorum by Puig and, having light similarities, I find it infinitely better. Also cheap vintage powerful scent
