CHEF'S TABLE

Just as perfumery is about telling a story through notes, Top Chef is a narrative of flavor. Each episode layers taste, technique, and terroir, much like how a fragrance layers basil over tomato over musk. Both invite you to interpret, imagine, and emotionally connect with something sensory and ephemeral. I sought out Chef’s Table as a blind buy while watching Top Chef Destination Canada this season on Bravo. Tom Colicchio mentioned the niche perfume to Andy Cohen. Chefs on the show balance innovation with classical technique, which parallels the work of perfumers who blend avant-garde ideas with rigid olfactory pyramids. Whether it’s plating a dish or bottling an extrait, both are crafts refined through obsession and intuition. Sometimes dishes that are heavy in fat need acidity while perfumes heavy in florals need galbanum resin. I can't taste the food on Top Chef. I can only imagine it. Similarly, I read reviews on here to smell vicariously through descriptions. Language becomes my bridge between senses and experience in both cases. Both food and fragrance are tightly linked to my memory. Min New York’s Chef’s Table immediately brought to mind having an outdoor bistro lunch one sunny pre-COVID fall day at Ad Forum in Aosta, Italy. I had a parmesan crusted bowl of gnocchi and ham in a savory buttery white sauce with freshly cut herbs. It was likely the stem leaves, basil and sage top notes that trigger my memory of that time and place. I’m looking forward to wearing Chef’s Table during nights out on the culinary town because the fragrance will not compete with the food, but rather complement it. Wearing Chef’s Table will feel like seasoning the night itself. Top Chef and perfumery both play with nostalgia, identity, and longing. I highly recommend the fragrance if you’re a fan of the show.

Full disclosure, tomato and herbal green scents are my favourite fragrance notes. This is absolute perfection. A minty green, light as air, soapy aromatic tomato and basil scent. It is so uplifting. The bergamot and black currant bring a sharp quality, whilst the basil makes it feel wet and fresh. The tomato is green, more stems and leaves than fruit. It reminds me like a less peppery and more rounded Tacit by Aesop, and a twin sister to Corsica Furiosa by Parfum d'Empire but softer and more airy. The dry down is so interesting, the fresh young tomato disappears and develops into a more jammy stewed tomato smell. Not in a bad way at all, in a rich and bursting ripe manner. I love the journey this fragrance takes you on. So special. I can't justify currently adding another tomato fragrance to my collection, but it is on my hit list for a future purchase. 10/10

A stunning fresh, green, herbal fragrance. Beautifully judged and balanced. Those opening tomato vine, sage and basil notes are perfection. It mellows down to a soft, sweet herbal scent with a hint of rose and tonka - yet remains light and refreshing. A very interesting, complex niche scent. I'm a big fan of the MIN's and own a few of them, and I often spray a touch of the Ad Lumen rose scent after this just to heighten the rose and reduce a little of the herbal/tomato element - which is my personal preference and puts me in a herbal rose garden in the height of a British summer - BUT, the scent is flawless and fascinating in it's own right.

I had the chance to test Chef's table from a sample gifted to me; from the very first spray the tomato leaf is there, so clear, so green and evident that it reminded me of a tomato plant we had in the garden back when I was a child; as RubyBirdy said the development is quiet linear but for me it's quite persistent, the tomato leaf stays on my skin for a long time (lasting even after showering) and on my clothes for closely a whole day. Definitely is a (different) smell I love specially during this hot weather that is already here in the south of Europe.

This one is gorgeous! On my skin i can smell mostly herbs: very strong and natural sage, basil, some tomato leaves. After many hours it gets sweeter, rounder, I think it's rose and tonka. Very nice, very my style, very unisex. I do not get kitchen vibe though, for me it's mostly herbal garden on a sunny day. Brings back happy summer memories in this gloomy covid November.

Absolutely amazing green and herbal start with a touch of minty aromatic herbs. For me it’s just a perfect balance of freshness that slowly settles down into soft scent which is close to hay note in my opinion. Despite the crazy name and strange pyramid, think it might be a very nice everyday scent: it’s fresh, soft and very comforting. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

If you are looking for a nice and complex scent that has tomato vine/leaf aspects - i would recommend this - its expensive but I believe worth it. Gorgeous on the dry down and believe me you will not smell like anybody else around you. In love.

This is a good one if you want something divinely beautiful, light, green and refreshing, but this goes against your dark and mysterious personality. Then you can use MiN's branding as an excuse :)

Reminds me of a beautiful evening spent with friends and special ones cooking and drinking wine around the kitchen. Music's loud and the weather's lovely. A calming and reassuring scent.

I can't get enough of it! This scent is a perfect blend of fresh citrus notes balanced with subtle woodiness. It feels invigorating and sophisticated, making it ideal for any occasion.

LOVE IT. If youre looking for a stronger and a bit less expensive version of this DNA you should try 'The Different Company - Love Is Coming... Chapter II'.

I'm not a caterpilar but I love this scent! Tomato plant both green parts & fruit. This is the main idea which is built around this fresh green musky slightly aquatic scent. I can feel more notes than those listed, clearly. The note pyramide was beautiful to my eyes. I was expecting an artistic almost unwearable fragrance but this is trully beautiful and safe to wear. It doesn't feel edible. There is basil, smooth bergamot and sage but these are only to support the tomato plant image. It doesn't feel like a salad or dressing for a pizza. The bergamot is shortlived at the opening along with sage which lasts a little bit more than bergamot. The basil is strongly noticeable but it's not a main player. It gives an extra green freshness to the blend and it never takes over the tomato plant. Just gently supports the main image of the tomato plant & its fruit. The black currant is made of nice quality stuff, no "cat piss" effect here. And it supports the basil, so it's not very strong. The tonka bean note is almost undetectable. You can feel tiny traces at the end. This scent has no sweetness. The sillage is moderate. The longevity is very nice, about 9 hours and the projection is moderate to soft. The opening is quite realistic. Tomato fruit & green plant so this may not be nice for everyone. Me? I was excited! The second part had a lot of musk, light & white musk. The third and last part had something aquatic & slightly salty (ambergis?) in it. Exactly the same as in many Dzintars aquatic edc scents that I've experienced but velvety & smoother. I can't detect the rose but only a very shortlived greenish rosy feeling. So no rose here. This is a quality fragrance, well blended & smooth suitable for spring and summer, daytime. I highly recommend it for everyone who loves vegetables & green fresh scents with an aquatic twist. It retails here about 267 usd. Disclaimer. I do not care about compliments. This scent is not mass appealing for sure. Edit I didn't realize it but still lives in my skin, more than 9 hours from the first aplication as a very faint skin scent. I smell something salty and powdery almost floral. I took a shower and still is there but I must stick my nose on the skin to feel it. Update. This is second day in a row I wear this scent. It is heavy on green tomato plant, white musk, ambergis and mild basil. It feels absolutely freakin awesome near the sea. The longevity is also great but stays close to the skin. I get about 11-12 hours even with a shower.

Surprisingly delightful. Opens with minty sage and a breath of bergamot that quickly burns off. The sage carries through to green baby basil leaves and cool tomato vines. A whisper of cut rose stems doesn't disrupt the growing group with floral notes. Later on, the breeze changes direction and tendrils of sea air creep through the warming garden. This is a vivid atmospheric fragrance with nice scent story development. Perfectly unisex/androgynous. Fresh and inviting, like a charming, very productive person. Too friendly and bright for my taste. I also don't like aquatic notes on myself. This was not made for me but will be a stunning match for my good friend who happens to be a devine chef and social butterfly! Review of full bottle blind-buy. Decluttering from my collection by gifting it to it's rightful place in the universe. A great experience.

Hey Allen-at-Home, for me the tomato was the very first note I smelled, and definitely the most prominent overall. It's a very realistic mix of both stem and fruit. The herbs behind it are very soft and subtle, so it's not like pasta sauce at all. I think I can smell the tiiiiniest bit of rose, but it's there as a "softening" agent to prevent the tomato and bergamot becoming too tart. I like this perfume, it's something different and I bet it's fabulous in warmer weather, but I don't think it's price tag is justified. Would buy if it were less expensive and had a more interesting evolution. It's very linear, not much development. It didn't really last more than about six hours on my skin.

you're standing at the kitchen counter, chopping herbs and tomatoes. the sun's coming through the window and you breathe in deep. this is earthy and delicious for when you want to look forward to cooking or treating the world as your recipe. and it might fare better in warmer weather - in the winter, i sprayed a bunch for low projection. it's a pretty unusual scent! not showy at all, but grounding, and enjoyable. edit: it’s probably more tomato and herb garden than salad, but somehow there’s still a cooking vibe!

I've bought a discovery set of 10 MiN fragrances and it's the best purchase of the year. I love this maison, even when some blends might be a little audacious. Drydown is always flawless, and God knows how difficult it is with my PH: I really appreciate this aspect. Chef's table is definitely one of my favorite, with its fresh "edible" aromatic scent. It's cheerful, perfect for the spring season. It's not a beast, but makes me feel good. Drydown smells like green tea to me. Lovely.

One could not have named this perfume any better. It smells exactly like what you'd expect from seeing the notes- tomatoes. And I don't mean tomato juice or candy, no, I mean the fresh real tomato sauce or puree. It's a tad bit green to be hot tomato pasta; calling it tomato salad should suffice. Very much like the name "Chef's Table", it reminds me of a table full of healthy and fresh food (mostly tomato and green vegetables), that the chef has prepared. This has very little to no sweetness to it, almost savoury in a way like an actual tomato sauce. Normally I describe scents by painting a picture of what it reminds me of, not that it necessarily smells like it. However, in this case it smells exactly like what I described. I was a little surprised as well as impressed with the realistic aspect of this perfume. It just feels like these things are smeared all over me instead of seeming like I have a perfume on, and I appreciate the artistry in it. The disappointment though, is that it seems to have bad chemistry with my body, and ends up making me feel a little bit uneasy smelling it. I feel like I spilled tomato sauce all over me- it's nice and weird at the same time.

Smells like pickles, pizza sauce and a mix of dried herbs. Definitely not something I'd like to wear
