As-Suli’s Diamond

This is becoming one of my favorites across the board currently. I don't hear hardly anyone talking about it either. I liked it when I first tested it out on skin at Dillard's, but I recently got a great deal on it and the more I experience it the more it's grown on me. To me, it's such a unique and smoothly blended fragrance with subtle nuances here and there that seem to gently invigorate my senses throughout the wear. And it envokes the color white/very light grey, like a silky fabric or something every time I smell it. Very versatile, in my opinion, and can be worn throughout the year, day and/or night, casually or dressed up. May become slightly cloying in very high summer heat, but do not see it becoming offensive to anyone at all. Appreciate the story behind it too.

What can I say? I'm a treat yoself kind of girl. Is it expensive? Hella yes! Is it worth it? Also, yes, imo. This is a very soft, sweet, balsamic almost to the point of powdery. Often times balsamic scents are a little too spicy for me, but this is perfect and absolutely gorgeous. My perfume collection isn't huge but I've never smelled anything quite like this. I've been trying a lot from this house and all my perfumes seem so... juvenile in comparison. These are really expensive-smelling perfumes. The quality is for sure there. I really love it. Will be picking up a full size bottle eventually.

This is so fricking awesome , this house I’ve been Leary about due to the hype , I’ve also never smelled anything else , i received a sample of this when i purchased another bottle, i almost Tossed it out smh , i just had 0 interest in the marketing or the push behind this brand . It’s so authorial , bright ,smoky , fresh & smooth . Starts off with with what I’m guessing is a zesty fig leaf followed by those super citruses for a clean almost soapy beginning , it quickly transitions into that unique yellow floral mid , followed by those resins dancing creating a pure intoxicating scent...

Got a sample kit from Neiman Marcus. All the scents are beautiful and seductive. This was my favorite one. It has a beautiful earthy component to it, and I smelled a lot of Lavender, even though it's not listed. You can definitely sense the Olde world regal scents. I love this fragrance.

Dark and creamy, rough and edgy, this is a very unique scent; however, as with all other Mind Games fragrances, the poor longevity and projection do not justify the $345 price tag. 7/10 overall. Scent: 8.8/10 Longevity and projection: 6/10 Price: 5/10

#77 of My Fragrance Journey - Mind Games As-Suli’s Diamond: Something I’m Still Figuring Out This one confused me the first time. Not in a bad way. Just... it didn’t land where I expected it to. And now I keep coming back to it, trying to understand what exactly it’s doing. From the first spray, it opens very floral. Sweet immediately. I get this thick, golden mix - honey, vanilla, orange blossom - which I now realise is the Scotch broom doing most of the talking. It’s rich but soft at the same time. Not sugary. More creamy. Pollen-like. Warm. Then, almost without warning, it pivots. A green note comes in. Fig leaf, I think. Slightly woody. Slightly powdery. It cools everything down. There’s also a citrus edge - mandarin, but very restrained. No bergamot brightness here. Just enough to sharpen the outline. The florals never leave. They just... reposition themselves. Sometimes they feel close. Sometimes further back. Like they’re breathing. Around the 20–30 minute mark, it settles into something deeper. Warmer. The broom and ylang-ylang start blending together into this rich, creamy floral mass. Tonka underneath, smoothing it out, adding that quiet sweetness that makes everything feel more complete. It’s slightly spicy too. Not loud spice. Just warmth. The kind that sits in the chest. I’ll be honest - this reads more feminine to me. Not as a criticism. Just as an observation. And honestly, I don’t think it matters. Wear what works for you. Labels feel irrelevant when something smells this intentional. This self-contained. The drydown surprised me the most. The florals fade. Not completely, but enough to make space for something darker. Resinous. Slightly smoky. Myrrh, opoponax, incense - that slow, glowing kind of smoke. Not harsh. Not ashy. More like warmth trapped in resin. It becomes quieter. Closer. More personal. It feels older at this stage. More grounded. This isn’t an easy fragrance. It doesn’t give you one clear story. It shifts between soft and dense, floral and resinous, warm and cool. Sometimes comforting. Sometimes distant. I’m still not sure I fully understand it. But I respect it. And that’s enough to keep wearing it. Vibe: golden florals dissolving into quiet resin and smoke Longevity: strong - stays present for hours without forcing itself Best for: slow evenings, introspective moods, when you want something that feels... inward Honest take: not a blind buy. This is underrated. Easily a 3 season scent. Alot of mixed opinions here, even myself at first. Someone said a less polished Reflection Man..I can make that stretch. Another said Cypress is a main player. Ehh, I can understand why some would think that but I disagree. You have to be familiar with the complexities of Broom and Ylang Ylang. Broom is highly underused in perfumory IMHO. But it plays its part in some big name releases. One many would know is Jubilation Man by Amouage. Also in Jubilation is Opponax. Broom can take on many facets and combined with other complex notes it can create accords that can remind us of single notes themselves. So I can get where someone would smell a dry Cypress of sorts. Here Broom and Ylang Ylang give me a visual and texture feel of rich yellow pollin. Gritty/powdery sweet, somewhat dry, or oily rather than moist within. Opponax is a big player here too as is a dry Incense and Amberwood. Bergamot, Orange and a small bit of Fig leaf are there in the opening but give way to the Broom, Ylang Ylang, Incense and Opponax early in the mid. Tonka steps in later with Amberwood and Myrrh. It's a solid fragrance. Unique also which I appreciate. Very unisex also. Don't underestimate this one, it's got potential to be a hidden gem with better understanding.

I didn’t know what yellow flowers truly smelled like until this. It’s Ylang Ylang on 10. The tonka stands out too. It is very unisex. It has enough smokiness for masculine and enough yellow flowers for feminine. I like it a lot. It’s not my favorite for the house, but it’s good. It does become super powdery on my skin. I spiced the powder up with a body spray from Sol de Janeiro and it works well. I don’t think it’s worth the cost and think they should have another price option and size. It’s a powder bomb and no powder bomb is worth that much. Longevity: Great Sillage: Ok

Sweet and creamy baby powder and spicy resinous incense. Unisex; a little spicier than classic feminine and a little sweeter than classic masculine. It’s a mysterious and magnetic, sexy, sultry, well-blended scent. I sprayed a generous amount directly to skin less than two hours ago and now I have to bury my nose in my wrist to pick up anything. This is such a unique and interesting fragrance, it’s a shame its performance sucks so much.

very nice masculine leaning fragrance with some bright florals which actually make it interesting and deeper. I loved the opening but it goes quite resinous and masculine. I love resins but the base is clearly masculine gents, for you this house is really blowing my mind, I have liked literally everything I tried and some I loved. each is unique and interesting, nothing is boring. first American house that I really liked.

Balsamic semi-fougère. Super niche. Something you might smell in a freshly grounded tea. Resinous spiced tonka and fig; complex and twisted. Grows amberous as it dries down. A complex scent for everywhere and nowhere. Very good, but not great. Non-specific but serious and reverent. An acquired taste. Unexpected and fungal; As-Suli’s Diamond will grow on you.

This is mainly myrrh incense and tonka with a touch of fig, ylang ylang and tiny bit of citrus. I have to admit, the scent itself is pretty unique. It’s seductive, sultry but refreshing at the same time. I get something soapy from this scent. I have not smelled anything like this before, but unfortunately it’s not something that I enjoyed and it leans way masculine for me. I don’t get why a lot of perfumes from this brand do not last on my skin. But at least I can get 1-2 hours from this one. No projection whatsoever, 100% not worth the price tag...

This would be in my top 10 favorites if the yellow floral was toned down or replaced. The fragrance itself is very captivating though. When I smell it, the image of honey comes to my mind... Is this how pollen would smell? Blends very nicely with The Forward. I don't think I'd ever own a full bottle, but a decant to spray every now and then would be plenty. Despite not liking yellow florals, this truly is masterfully crafted in a way that each note weaves through the others during the entirety.

This one lasted over twenty four hours on clothing. Opened up green with slight floral notes. After a while it turned into incense with resinous notes. All the while maintaining light scent with slight projection. The part I can say to enjoy would be the later part of it, the resinous animalic part and all. For a scent to cost this much and only offer so little I find it to be very costly. If I ever would get it it will be for the bottle.

My least fav of the mind games lineup. There is something screechy about the combination of citrus, incense, and ylang ylang that hits hard to my nose upon first spray. But it does dry down softly into a woody and aromatic oriental fragrance. I wouldn’t say it’s a safe blind but, but it is worth the money if you are into a high-quality oriental or Middle Eastern style fragrances.

Amber, spices and slightly floral. Decent and inoffensive, but for the price, skip it.

Another woody, leathery scent from this brand, pleasant but nothing special.

Not a love a first sniff, and the lid isn’t magnetic, but let me start off by saying I’m not a fan of honey, and that’s the main note here along with this soapy nuance. I don’t know why I was thinking this was going to smell lovely like House of Sillage Hufflepuff 💀 I would’ve even been happy if it was similar to D&G Devotion. I can see why a man would like this one; this isn’t feminine in my eyes at all, super unisex, and I love my feminine scents. I’m not a masculine woman, so this will sit on my shelf untouched for a good year or two, and maybe I will learn to appreciate it after it sits for a while, but I doubt it. But who knows? I used to hate Kilian Angels Share and Amouage Interlude and Sunshine, but they all became my favorites, so fingers crossed 🤞🏾 Do not blind buy this fragrance; get a sample.

As with so many of this company's fragrances, this one smells like it loaded with the scratchy man made aroma chemicals that I'm very sensitive to.

Testing this blind from the discovery set, this opened up green and herby, but with something smokey floating in and out. Later I got a whiff of peppermint or something similar, but overall was somewhat perplexing and reminds me of tile sealer or degreaser or some other specialty chemical concoction that adds fragrance to lessen the undesirable cleaner notes. Not saying it smells OF cleaner but the result for me is just not appealing. Looking at the notes I can place the mandarin orange, bergamot, and ylang-ylang, in the middle and top, with the pollen element of the broom seeming more dominant, but it is the mix of these with the base notes that seem to go awry. Like I said, I wouldn't call it a pleasant fragrance and I doubt I'm alone.

@McNasty I need to know what kind of hot sauce you're buying that smells like this, first of all I love this stuff so I might like that hot sauce, and second of all how expired is the hot sauce in question? The Opoponax and bitterness of Broom in here might give you that sensation of rot. They're challenging. Sidebar, I wanna say thanks to you for all the laughs that you've given me over the years, I couldn't repay that. Back to As-Suli's Diamond, what I'm here to review, the yellow florals in here are perfectly blended with the resinous notes to keep both from going in the challenging directions that either accord can typically go. Broom is a note I typically associate with nasty smelling weeds, and Annick Menardo put in some work taking that and blending it with resins and tossing in some "amber woods" to bring everything together seamlessly. This was the exact opposite of the experience my best friend had however, which is what prompted him to give me his sample and let me wear it in the first place. Stuff typically smells better on him than on me, so I think this frag is very reactive to skin chemistry. I think that how your skin takes this fragrance is more important than the listed notes, it's much like the "Molecule" brand fragrances (or at least their vision) in that sense. But how it works on me is lovely, more lovely than on a test strip. I don't like that this brand's parent company runs cheapie houses when trying to charge prestige niche prices but this is one that might hook me.

Wow. First of all: this is a beautiful and unique scent. Smelled this in Neiman Marcus, got a sample and wore it for a month. This is the only fragrance that smelled so good I had a child student (I'm a piano teacher) say that the room quote, "smells really good. like waffles". I assume he was thinking of syrup. Beautiful sillage, sweet and very resinous. The broom flower is a wonderful and unusual creamy floral note that compliments the tonka and myrrh perfectly. Incense rounds out the entire composition and gives it a slightly masculine edge. I think a lot of people will enjoy this scent in the air and find it particularly intriguing. The opening blast is a bit strangely green due to the fig leaf and isn't my favorite but the dry down is something else. Would smell great on both sexes imo. If a woman wore this she would smell intoxicatingly mysterious. Full bottle worthy imo. Very niche and luxurious experience. Phenomenal scent and house! Underrated. Smell: 9/10 (Only reason it's not a 10 is because this is not so versatile and some people may find it rather strong and unusual.)

I really loved the smell of this even though I think it leaned a little masculine I would still wear it because I found the scent enchanting BUT no longevity and poor silage made me return my bottle and the other bottle of Jdoube I bought as well. I’ve tried all their offerings now and I can say that they made some great scents, well blended and all that but they all have poor lasting power and charge a very premium price for one, having shockingly poor performance (I think double attack was the worst performing, blink and you miss it!) and two, being a new brand on the block. They got a lot of hype on YouTube this past year and I was impressed when I smelled them myself in Neiman, you can smell the quality but the longevity is a huge buzz kill. I can’t pay $345+ for a fragrance that barely lasts an hour. That’s absurd, to me at least. I’ll pay good money for fragrances I love but they gotta perform if I pay that much. This whole line are great skin scents at best. Pass.

This brand really relies on heavy synthetic aromachemicals. This is no exception, you get some high pitched floral notes, little opoponax and a ton of amberwoods. It feels really toxic. Harsh amberwoods. Why do they need to use these insecticide like fumes? really, go back and smell some vintage scents you will notice how scents from the past never felt this toxic! you might or not like a scent but they never felt like chemical warfare! And they have the big rotten balls to ask >$370 for a bottle of this? Nasty work.

Beautiful while it lasts. Definitely experience the opoponax, while the broom and ylang give a yellow creaminess. Lovely original idea for a fragrance, but As-Suli's Diamond has been the most ephemeral of all the Mind Games scents I have tried so far. I was so hopeful, because Annick Menardo is a genius with yellow florals. It's exquisite for the whole twenty minutes it lasts. Unless Mind Games improves longevity, I can't see a demand at this price. If it lasted, this one would be stellar. LOVE the raw edgy myrrh!!

This stands alone for me in anything I have smelled, original and beautiful this is not Oud, it’s fresh slight fig citrus tonka and myrrh sweeten the fresh and incense make it mystical beautiful I see a magical women with long dark hair coming out of a forest and you can not resist her this perfume is not feminine but it’s mystical and will seduce anyone around you a man would smell so sexy with this on

This smells like sweet dark chocolate and leather to me. It's very creamy and dark. I was so surprised there is no chocolate listed in the notes. The scent itself is 10/10 it's so alluring and so versatile at the same time. It's very unisex and anyone wearing this can exude an aura of mystery, professionalism, and pull.

I do really enjoy this. I dont think the notes are accurately here however because Cypress is a major player in this scent and I dont see it listed. This is a slightly smoked cypress, made light and airy.. feels very powderized almost with how soft and round it is. Quite like it, but not so much for the cost.

Sandalwood, fig, and incense all combined in a very smooth and buttery fashion. I think it’s good, but it’s not worth the price. None of the fragrances I have tried from this house are worth the price, unfortunately
