J'adoube

After sampling this fragrance twice, I knew I had no choice but to purchase a full bottle. As someone with a collection of over 700 niche and designer fragrances from a wide range of houses, it’s not often that a scent immediately forces its way into my top ten. But this one did—effortlessly. The opening is a vibrant burst of pomegranate, bright and juicy, quickly mellowed by a soft powderiness that gives it a refined, almost ethereal quality. As it dries down, the real magic happens: rich, sensual leather emerges, wrapped in a velvety rose that feels both romantic and powerfully confident. The transition from the top notes to the heart is truly transformative—almost like putting on a new identity. What stands out most is how this fragrance makes me feel. It exudes allure. Every time I wear it, I feel irresistibly attractive. But with that said, the complexity can be polarizing; this isn’t a scent for everyone, nor should it be. It makes a statement, and sometimes that statement is bold enough to catch others off guard. For comparison, I also own French Defense from the same house. While I’ve loved that one—especially for its cherry nuance—I have to say this new addition has taken the lead for now. As cooler months arrive, French Defense might edge back into the top spot, but for now, this fragrance reigns supreme. Performance is solid: longevity is good, easily lasting through the day, with moderate projection. However, be careful with application—more than three sprays and it can become overwhelming, even cloying. Overall, this is a masterfully composed fragrance that deserves the highest praise. If you’re seeking something that transforms with time, captivates the senses, and elevates your presence, this is it.

I understand where some of the comparisons are going with Commodity Juice and alikes. There is a common DNA but when I wear J'Adoube I don't feel/pick up the feminine aspect of the comparison with this being overly either feminine or even unisex-fem; to me and on me it smells unisex-masc solely because I've compared multiple fragrances in this genre already side by side with the MG. Would love to break down accords and notes here, but realistically, this is a sour-rose leather supported fragrance for year-round versatility and all occasions dressing up or down to a guy my age. An introductory rose with sufficient mass appeal without the so-beloved rose-oud combo, thankfully. I believe this to be my favorite MG fragrance, and they definitely have bangers but overall this delivers something that is so agreeable with my taste that I couldn't pass it up after sampling thoroughly. Honestly not a safe blind buy especially due to the more specific scent profile though very easy to please. Performance is rather positive here going beyond the 7h mark softly in projection after hour-3. Very delicious to smell and not overly sweet but with some calm sweetness to adding to the backbone of a more rugged note selection. Let me call it, perhaps, a bleu rose-forward fragrance that has the stingy sourness with the bleu-versatility combined with this actually rather elegant rose. Love this thing!

One word to describe J'adoube: Opulent This is quite simply a phenomenal fragrance: A beautiful and juicy rose/pomegranate pairing are at the forefront of this scent, with a suede-ish leather accord in the base and some hints of patchouli. Make no mistake, this is not an old lady type of rose, very uplifting and youthful yet remains buttoned-down to an extent on the whole. The P&L on this is long and strong (pause), but nothing which is going to fill up a room. This combination forms a wonderful dichotomy that makes for a versatile and wearable perfume that still smells rich. While not a fragrance that takes you on a 'journey' so to speak, it does become a bit powdery after a while in colder climates or AC, I don't find that to be the case in warmer more humid environments, however, which is where it shines best (especially at night). Dense but not cloying. I've gotten quite a few compliments while wearing J'adoube despite purchasing only in April, but the main thing that struck me was people pointing out how it smells "expensive." Unisex for sure, maybe leans masculine marginally. Absolutely recommend for anyone who can afford it, I was lucky enough to get it on Fragrance Neveah for nearly half off of retail five months after first being gifted a sample at the now defunct Neiman Ala Moana (Grazie, Mauricio).

At first glance I thought, Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland - mature, fruity, and playful. I was not let down on any of my presumptions. The fragrance starts out with a hit of red currant, mandarin, and rose. The rose is more of a top note than a middle note, should be marketed as rose-heavy. This fragrance is intimate after hour 5, so it will take a few seconds top really dive into the darker parts - leather and amber that are the bottom notes of the fragrance. As a unisex fragrance, this is at the top of my list. It works fantastically on either sexes, but will deduce that it is more feminine leaning. To date, this is my favorite fragrance of all time - I've been in the game around a year and have had my fair share of following the trends and catching up on years prior - and can attest that on first whiff of the bottle, I started to laugh. I laughed uncontrollably not out of panic or hysteria, but of pure joy - this is the one. I feel like I've finally met my match in perfume form. Don't take any reviews of "this was disastrous" or "I was gifted this bottle and now I have 10 kids" to heart. I can say that I wasn't let down on this blind buy, but as a warning it is very rose centered. After around 30 minutes the rose takes over. Great date night fragrance, safe office fragrance.

This has become one of my favorite warm-weather late-afternoon scents. When I first tried it in cold weather, it smelled like an old pomegranate Bath & Body Works cream my mom would get, but in the heat, it blossoms into something more akin to the opening of the OG Aventish Red. The smell opens with a strong smell of red berries, pomegranate, and sweet citrus. This is perfect for hot summer days and stays fairly linear for hours. Somewhere around the 3-4 hour mark, you start getting the warmer tones like clean leather (like balsamic base instead of animalic base), amber, and a faint whiff of patchouli. These notes complement the pomegranate that slowly fades after 8-10 hours of wear. Due to the fresh notes giving way to the warm notes, this, to me, is the perfect late afternoon-early evening transition fragrance. Longevity is great; I could still smell the fresh rose-pomegranate notes after grilling in the hot sun and playing soccer with cousins for 6 hours. Under "normal" conditions, this has lasted me well over 8 hours, with people still wondering what I was wearing after those 8 hours. This is also as truly unisex as a fragrance gets.

This is a very juicy pomegranate, rose and amber fragrance! When you first spray this, you get a dose of leather, but then you get a burst of a ripe pomegranate. The red currant(what some may describe as sour) really rounds out and tones down the pomegranate, I feel which could be cloyingly sweet without the addition of the red currant. I love damask rose because it always shines through in any fragrance it is in. It is a very citrusy, bright rose, that stands on its own through the strong leather, sweet pomegranate and tangy red currant. The benzoin gives the scent a deep balsamic air against the robust leather. This equals a pungent, yet sweetly rounded balsam, mixed with the smooth patchouli gives of sort of an akigalawood vibe. The amber is not forgotten and is right up there with the pomegranate and rose, providing an aromatic powderiness. In the end, this is a pomegranate rose amber scent, each adjusting to the other as time passes while wearing the fragrance. If you like to smell like fruity high quality pink leather(which I personally enjoy), then this fragrance is for you!

This scent right here is beloved by reviewers. Hyped,even. The pomegranate rose suede note is fire. I will wear this in summer provided ill stay indoors. I will wear this in winter. I will wear this in Spring. And, guess what? I will wear this in Fall. It's strong and stays that way for about 1 hour before it mellows. Not skin scent in an hr. Like finally becomes a normal Extrait. Its like you walk into a singing competition and sometimes hitting the Mariah Carey notes but then Whitney is hitting that note on that Ill Always love you song. Like this scent has zero chill for about 4 hours. Lasts an easy 8-10 hours. Unisex in all ways. I was afraid to get this because of the Rose. I dont like a lot of rose dominant scents. This rose blends so well with the pomegranate it's like it's own accord. My wife who also hates rose loves this. The hype is justified. Hate that this company gets the unnecessary hate. But that's just what haters do. Smells a little like V canto Stricnina on the one hand and Ramon monegal flamenco extrait. But with leather that's soft. Nice! 4.4/5

This smells about 75% similar to The Elemental Fragrances CashmereSex. Which for whatever reason they aren't listed here. Awesome scent! Opens up super juicy in the same way CS does. I get a runny plum/figgy/pomegranate/Currant Jelly or syrup vibe. It's so photo-realistic it's palatable. Mouth watering. As if you just bust open the Pomegranate and scooped the innards into your mouth. As it begins to dry you get some of the Mandarin that transitions seamlessly into an amber note and soon after a Ombré Leather-esq Leather note. The fruits have now transformed into a semi candied rose. Not powdery. Earthy Patchouli and light Benzoin show up farther down the road and in the far drydown your left with mainly the Leather, rose and Patchouli with remnants of the fruit. Plum fans, fig fans, if you like juicy red or purple fruits this is a gem. Quality is on par with the others in the house. I'd say Spring would suit this best or Summer nights. Another 10/10 from the house IMHO.

J'adoube is absolutely incredible. Beautiful Pomegranate, Red Currant and Mandarin fruity opening, perfect strength with just a couple sprays. The evolution of the scent is a journey as the fruits begin to fade away leaving the Pomegranate and a nice suede that stays on skin with a nice presence. Really good projection without being too much, again with just a couple of sprays. As time goes on it keeps a little sweetness around but the patchouli and leather start to make themselves known. Projects well for the first few hours and still very noticeable on skin even 10+ hours later. Expensive but even if you just get a small travel version of this it will last you a long time because you don't need much and it's just an extremely beautiful scent. Great experience and beautiful scent the whole ride. Pretty safe blind buy if these notes interest you in any way.

This is one of my crown jewels in my collection. It's not a signature scent type but something I pull out for special occasions or certain moods - and every time I do, my nose is glued to my arm. I don't own anything else like it. Perfectly unisex. But on me, not at all feminine. It was between this and blockade. Blockade has the Aventus DNA (much more my type of scent but didn't perform that well) but I stepped out of my comfort zone and brought this. No regrets. It performs. Longevity is 10-12 hrs on skin. Patchouli is the main player through the journey but it's not linear. The opening is a little sweet and fruity. 20 mins later the rose rises up and hangs around a while. Everything is well balanced and it's a beautiful journey. It's very niche and pricey. Sample first but I have no regrets.

J’adoube was a great surprise. It immediately caught my attention because I couldn’t quite figure out what I was smelling at first. After checking the notes, it made sense — the pomegranate really stands out. It’s a fruity scent, but not overly sweet. It leans slightly less masculine, but still smells great and very wearable. The balance keeps it interesting without becoming too heavy or sugary. On my skin it lasts 12+ hours. Projection is strongest in the first 5–6 hours. After that, it calms down and stays closer to the skin. I can see this working in all seasons, but it probably fits better in warmer weather like spring and summer. Overall, this is one of those fragrances that pulls you in. It’s different, intriguing, and honestly made me consider buying a full bottle.

Mind Games J’Adoube is my favorite from the house. It’s darker and more complex than French Defense, with a bold, almost lipstick-red opening that’s very rose-forward and sweet. The pomegranate stays lush on my skin and never turns sour. There’s a sexy, dark feminine energy I get with this fragrance that I love — confident, a little mysterious, and very intentional. And the performance? Beast mode. I wore this to a concert, never had the top dry-cleaned, and could still clearly smell it in my closet two weeks later. This one is a 9/10 for me — memorable, powerful, and unapologetic. I am going to miss it as I transition from deep, winter to my February lineup, but I might keep it in there for a sexy date night vibe.

So much better than angel nova - there was something in that which made it unwearable. This, on the other hand, had me hooked from the first spritz from a mind games sample. It's unique to other rose patchouli combinations in that it's a truly sophisticated fruit-focused scent, w a juicy component balanced PERFECTLY over a true rose. While the patchouli is noticeable, it does not overtake the composition (on my skin). Just a perfect balance of juicy tartness and clean rose, with aromatic-herbaceous undertones. Had to buy a bigger size because I didn't want the sample to be over! It stands alone among similar note profiles. It shines. LOVE 💕 J'ADOUBE. oxo

This is absolutely beautiful. The pomegranate and leather mix so well together. I can detect the rose, Amber, patchouli, and benzoin but I’m not too sure about the red currant. Rose and orange are there but faint to me. Beastly and great for all year round IMO. The only drawback for some would be the price. Retail is $345 for 100ml Extrait de Parfum. It’s steep I know but quality is right up there with Roja and Xerjoff. If you stop in a Neiman Marcus seek these out. At least worth a sample. This is a great signature for someone looking for something a little bit different.

I had a lot of prejudices against this fragrance; in fact, against the entire line. I disliked the bottles and thought the prices were ridiculous. When I received two samples as freebies with an online order, instead of the ones I had actually requested, I let them sit on my desk for a couple of days. Then one day—BOOM!—I tried them and was stunned, both by the fragrances themselves and by how much I loved them. The other one was Queening, and I've already secured a bottle. Amazing fragrances. They are now among my all-time favorites.

It's got a little bit of everything and balances itself so well. The pomegranate, leather, and orange are definitely at the forefront. On initial application it's very bright and smells a bit like a cleaning product, but the amber warms the scent pretty quickly and it is overall a very pleasant and comforting smell. It projects well and last 5-6 hours or so which is pretty good. This is the second Mind Games scent I've tried and I haven't been disappointed yet. 5/5.

So damn good, it's ridiculous. The opening is addictive, juicy fresh with just the slight bit of depth. Them as it dries down it evolves into a richer creamy leather scent. So well balanced, and excellent scent development over the course of the day. That is what I think makes it lovely and versatile, if you put it on in the afternoon, then you enjoy a nice daytime scent, and by the evening it's ready for a nice fancy meal.

I was really hoping I wouldn't love this because of the price, but unfortunately, I have to admit it's amazing. J'Adoube combines a juicy, rosy fruitiness with a very refreshing aspect. The leather/patchouli/amber base is remarkably airy. It's definitely not "just" Angel Nova. They share only two notes, and J'Adoube has no trace of Akigalawood. Angel Nova is very girly whereas J'Adoube is completely unisex IMO.

Nice fresh red currant perfume. Reminds me so much of Jo Malone Green Almond and Redcurrant cologne (that was limited edition) just longer lasting. If I loved citrus-fresh scents, this would be one of my favourites! It’s great for spring and summer daily fragrance. I have to say - Jo Malone Green Almond and Redcurrant is more beautiful and more unique in my opinion. I would love to have Jadoube too.

I bought J'adoube because I don't have pomegranate fragrances in my collection, and this one didn't disappointed me, it's smell freaking good, very juicy fruity floral with good longevity around 9-10 hours, really good projection around 4 hours, the scent itself leaning a bit feminine, lovely combo of pomegranate, red currant, rose and leather, great creation nice perfume I gave J'adoube 9/10
