Playmate completely surprised me. I expected a cute tropical sweet scent and ended up OBSESSED 😭🌺🥥🍋 On my skin it smells like a creamy vanilla summer drink. The coconut milk mixed with the gardenia is INSANELY good, and the Italian lemon adds just enough freshness to keep it airy and addictive instead of heavy. It smells tropical, creamy, feminine and luxurious without giving sunscreen or body mist vibes. I wore it to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the Florida heat and humidity while sweating all day, and somehow it smelled EVEN BETTER in the humidity. It projects so much, lasts for hours, and creates the most delicious scent bubble around you. If you love creamy white florals, especially gardenia, this one is dangerous.

First impressions: I'm a bit obsessed with this fragrance. In the opening I had no idea what this was, and I was ready to dismiss it, but the dry down is where this fragrance shines. It's kind of a gourmand white floral. I find the coconut milk, musk, and vanilla "coat" the florals and make them less sharp. After testing for a while, I finally bought a bottle today. Regarding longevity, I sprayed this on the back of my hand the first time I tried it, and the next morning (14 hours later) I was lying in bed and could still smell wafts of this even though my hand was under the comforter. Now that is good longevity.

I genuinely have no idea what these reviews are on about with this perfume in particular. I usually can smell what reviewers are talking about even when I disagree but not this one. Bubblegum? Old lady? This is gorgeous, so so feminine, so beautifully balanced and complex, it's familiar yet unique. I would say the accords are pretty accurate. I was obsessed with it at first spray all the way to dry down. Getting a full size bottle of this creamy beauty as soon as I can.

I really enjoy this one. Smells clean and feminine, yet also cozy and creamy. Falls into the same category as Queening or Lift Me Up from Initio. Based on the reviews, skin chemistry must be an issue for many. I recommend trying before buying, especially with the price point. If your skin doesn’t work with certain musks, you may not like this.

Yes, this reminds me of Blanche Bete but I like this better. It seems more refined, but a more expensive. The Milky notes are a bit more toned down in Playmate. Mentor is still my favorite from mind games, but this is good too.

Nice fragrance, it is very unisex without leanimg fo far each way. Stayed on all day and as it progressed it got better for me.

I can’t stop sniffing it. It’s so beautiful! I have five Mind Games fragrances, but this one beats them all.

Upon first spray, this is an intoxicating warm musky ambery Jasmine of nuclear strength with the sweetness rounded out and mellowed a little by the warmth of the base. I found this initially addictive and delicious. It dries down quite quickly to a much more tame soft vanilla coconut musk skin scent, the initial nuclear phase was only quite brief, literally 10-20 minutes. I loved the opening, it was genuinely one of the best things I have ever smelled and I wanted to drink it and bathe in it, but I found that the dry down to be nothing special. Performance was disappointing The opening smells like juliette has a gun lust for sun except deeper, more ambery and musky and more sophisticated and palatable but it very quickly changed to something else entirely and loses its shine, while lust for sun remains floral and projects throughout. Playmate smells amazing for about 20 minutes. This is disappointing because for the price I would expect the fragrance to hang around for longer. After 20 minutes it becomes a skin scent with little projection and a meh fragrance of musky vanilla coconut. Nothing bad but nothing special

It’s good. Not as good as Check Please. I wish the coconut and lemon were more pronounced. For me it gets a little too soapy / powdery. Thinking about if I’m going to keep it or return it. Probably return because if I want something with lemon from this line, I think I would prefer The Forward. Might come back and update later. This is just first impression and I’ve only been wearing for about an hour.

It’s not bad it’s just not as good as check please. Playmate comes off as soapy on me I’m not to fond of soapy fragrances but I do think I can learn to appreciate it. It’s very bright early in the morning type of fragrance while check please is more of an evening type of scent.

Heavy 80s Nostalgic white floral. Heavy on the Gardenia, Jasmine (not indolic) and Tiare. The longer it stayed on my skin the more I loved it. Thinking about a decant since I would never get through a full bottle, but it's beautiful.

first test: soft lotiony coconut. no specific flowers can be identified but flowers are present. seems light but it is deceiving. I could still smell it all day even after a shower (it was only 2 spritzes).

Smells a like a lemon and coconut milkshake. Still easy to wear tho

I def love mind games, but this is definitely a miss for me. Of all of the mind games fragrances, this is the most Italian smelling. It’s in quality and potency with Tiziana Terenzi. Unfortunately when I smell it, all my mind pictures is a wealthy old New Yorker at a funeral. The name does not match the mental image this fragrance gives me.

Received samples of this and Check Please today. Playmate is a milky tuberose for sure, but something in this smell plasticky. As a Black American woman, this smell reminds me of leaving the hair salon after a silk press. Its nostalgic and pleasant, but its not a fragrance I want to purchase and wear.

Creamy coconut, white florals and musk. Rich, elegant and clean.

Ordered samples of the two new ones from the Mind Games website and wondering if they accidentally sent me Kingside instead of Playmate... Definitely a dislike for me. There's this weird baby lotion smell vibe that comes from this and Kingside that is so off-putting to me and the musk in Playmate makes it even worse. This had a lot of potential and fell so short in my opinion. Check, Please is better out of the two released.

Smells like bubblegum stuck on a white flower that has begun to rot.

Genuinely one of the most unpleasant releases I’ve come across from the brand, and that’s saying something, because they’ve been consistently underwhelming for me. I’ve given Mind Games multiple chances, hoping something would finally click, but this only reinforces how unimpressive their direction feels. The vanilla here is especially bad. Thick, cloying, lacks any elegance and quickly turns suffocating. As someone who usually loves musk, I found the musk in this completely off-putting, flat, synthetic, and oddly dirty in a way that feels unintentional rather than sensual. Then there’s the coconut, which should add some creaminess or balance, but instead just makes everything worse. Overall, the fragrance feels poorly constructed and frankly unpleasant from start to finish.

Tester smelled really good. Got home and wore it and it smells like the dirtiest, muskiest grossness ever. Horrible. Migraine and nausea within 15 minutes of applying. I love light musky scents, like a clean muskiness. And clean vanilla. A little citrus. This is extremely dense. Reminds me slightly of Byredo Velvet Haze, which also smells good in the bottle, but horrible on me. I was bummed because the bottle is really cool, I feel. I’m a sucker for a pretty bottle.

I don't understand how anyone can like this. Check Please is way better out of the newer ones from Mind Games. My family was like - this is just not good.

I don’t like to say that fragrances have age ranges (ie mature/childish) but this smells like a grandmother fresh out of a bath who just doused herself with powder. I really do not like this one. I’m surprised that this is a Mind Games release. I will say that it is strong and lasts forever because I tried scrubbing it off and it’s still lingering :-/

At first, the coconut milk is a bit TOO sweet and overpowering. I didn't get a ton of florals until it started to dry down, but still wish there were a higher concentration of these notes. It's a beautiful, slightly feminine leaning fragrance to my nose. Base is your basic MG DNA of the vanilla/ambery nuance.

the opening very briefly reminds me of yoghurt, just for a split second. it’s more lactonic than you’d expect, but that slowly morphs into very soapy white flowers. it’s an old school DNA with a twist with that coconut + lemon. super versatile, i like this more than i thought. 7/10

I really want to love this. But there is something that causes an immediate sneezing fit every time I wore it. It had so much potential in my collection. Mind Games is one of those houses that can put a fresh spin on an overdone DNA.... but it backfired for me this time.

This one is not for me. It smells like dusty flowers and a rancid kind of musk on my skin. It’s very strong but not a good way. This one is a miss for me, so I am thankful. I only purchased a 10 mL decant.
