I'm really obsessed with this one. I need to wear this more and try it alongside BR540 to understand it better, but the ambergris/spearmint, jasmine and burnt sugar is incredibly interesting, attractive and multi-layered. Update: OK I tried BR540 and the Extrait again today. Carmè is clearly a take on the Extrait, with its added depth, sweetness and almond note. What I needed to understand was why I was finding Carmè so interesting when I was always a bit bored by the 540s (so if you love the MFKs maybe take my opinion with a grain of salt). I find the MFKs are smooth, highly blended, and somewhat designer-y in sensibility, centering on that burnt sugar/ambroxan accord that’s very easy to like. Carmè shines more of a spotlight on some of the other elements - this green minty/herbal note and the metallic salty ambergris are more present, with the sugary middle occupying a slightly smaller place on the stage. To me, this makes the scent much more tantalizing than the extrait - almost like BR540 Extrait feels like the designer clone of the more niche Carmè, ha! (And where would that leave Cloud?!) Interesting brand with some hits and some misses, for me this is the must have ... a giant-killer!

This is a lot like BR540 extrait. But it’s softer, and offers more fresh accords. This is a 10/10 fragrance. Lasts me up to 12 hours. Gets great compliments. And I love smelling it all day. Great golfing fragrance. I’d say it leans more on the masculine side. But I’m sure a few women could get away with wearing this.
